Super nice staff. Owner makes rounds and serves too.. Great value. Dinner is always a treat. The kabob is super. The nahn bread too. Must go once a month. With family. 60, 50 22 and 18..

I love the decor and music. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The food is so well cooked and seasoned. The portions are great as well. Honestly, the staff recommended dishes were 10/10.I mean, every other place does rice, but the rice was so good. I already knew the rest was going to be great. My family and I were so satisfied all the way home. Cant wait to dine in again. 😊

Rude restaurant owner who doesnt know how to respect guests. We entered as the board said open. We sat and nobody attended, then the owner said how did u enter you should ask before entering. Bro you should put on board that its closed. If you are in the hospitality industry have some respect and courtesy for your customers. We were a family with a kid 7 year old, he kept saying why did u enter without asking instead of apologizing and saying politely that sorry we are closed for the day. Pathetic behavior.

Nice small cozy restaurant. Food is very good and the kebab we had was amazing.The staff (which were sitting idle) here are little casual than professional but our server was very nice and humble. At one point the idle staff started playing some drama shows on the restaurant speakers 🤷🏽But the food quality is good. No doubt people make a lot of take outs here.

Her by myself to enjoy a dinner, but honestly it’s my last in this place! Food quality is terrible! I got the mix tandoori and the ground beef kabab tested very poorly, the Chicken was undercooked and did not feel right, Aldo I paid for the two garlic bread since intentionally they are made very small so you pay for two, I’m fine with that but the second bread brought to my table after I finished, no one even asked me if my food was ok and when I asked for additional tea I was given rude attitude that they can’t keep giving refills, witch I was not even excepting a free one anyway! So I told me just charge and bring the tea instead of complaining on the end he asked me if I want my check and I said not yet, but he brought it anyway! I wanted to enjoy my dinner and have tea as much as I enjoy and pay regardless but seems like it was to complicated for them! Zero star for poor service and poor food quality and give 3 star for the low light atmosphere that is nice to enjoy dinner, But not this place..

This place has the most authentic and best tasting Indian food in LA. despite feeling like a high end restaurant the staff and owners try to form a relationship with you and treat you with a lot of respect. Highly recommend (get the mango lassi).

I’ve order here on Uber eats 12 times now! I absolutely love the vegetarian options and my boyfriend swears the chicken tikka masala is the best he’s ever had! The portions are big, food is always tasty and always comes fresh and hot. Ordered for pick up today and the place is so cute inside! My go-to Indian spot as long as I live in this Valley

Served me a scalding hot bowl of soup with no warning. Not normal hot, absolutely scalding, the hottest thing Ive ever had in my mouth. Now my throat is burned, its been hours and it still hurts. Youd think if youre going to serve someone anything that hot you might at least say something?

Shalimar has the best Indian food Ive ever had. The interior is wonderful, with a European style place setting. The service is always on point. You feel important, cared for and well fed. Everything is fresh that hits the table and the atmosphere is an experience within its self.

Once the best Indian restaurant in the Valley has completely lost its way and is just pumping out tired and tasteless food. I used to happily drive from the west side to get a taste of the great cuisine they used to serve here, but it seems like they’ve gotten cheap with the ingredients, skip seasonings and spices altogether, and have just forgotten why people come to restaurants in the first place. While the service is friendly it just does not make up for the lack of flavor and quality. It is always sad to see someplace that was once great deteriorating but I think the time has come to close this chapter of valley dining history.

Worst. No flavors at all. Food was so blunt. Only gravy with no salt or spices and very little paneer pieces in paneer Makhani and chicken tikka makhani was also ao sweet and no flavours in gravy. Even the rotis were bad and rice was not fully cooked. Never had such unflavored Indian food.

I had heard about Shalimar from some friends but hadnt gotten around to it until recently. I went to scope it out for a dinner spot since we were nearby. We were seated promptly. The ambiance is nice, and the restaurant is simple and clean. The food is very reasonably priced and diverse. Everything we tried tasted good, you can tell they use fresh ingredients. Everyone working there was nice and we had a good time.

Just didn’t get great service, from the answers we got about food on the menu to the lack of attention to allergies, to the final bill having extra charges. On top of that the food was not to die For. Matar paneer is one of my favorite dishes, there’s was A sweet tang in the sauce I really love, and it was missing. Every dish was served with what looked like half the normal portion. The staff was yelling at each other over mistakes made. I just have no reason to go back.

Chicken Tikka Masala, the garlic Naan and the Chicken Tikka biryani were phenomenal!!! By far the best I have tried in the San Fernando Valley.The staff of very attentive & fast to serve. Shalimar was fantastic. We had a favorite place to go to for great Indian cuisine and decided to give this place a shot. So glad we did, because it was very delicious and is now our new favorite. Will be returning for sure, time and time again. And to note, there were more Naan choices than I had ever seen before. So Ill definitely be going through them all, as the three types we had were great.

Me and my wife have been going here since 2010. The restaurant is very nice, neat, reception so hospitable and charming. The atmosphere will take you to a special place. I have been on so many Indian restaurant and Shalimar is my favorite of all time! The way how the prepare the tomatoes, the na-an, and their most famous the ground beef (just ask them and they know what it is). Oh my gosh., I wish we were still in California and I would go there as much as I can. Like on my case since we moved to Portland last year, I dont feel like going to any more Indian restaurant its like night and day. I really miss this place. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Today I have become a fan of Shalimar and its varied menu that offers, the service is of quality and quite extensive, you can’t imagine the large amount of food that can be offered, delicious and healthy, if you are looking for fresh food and Nutritious don´t hesitate to visit this place, the atmosphere is also quite pleasant and the staff is very professional and friendly. On many occasions, I’ve come to the establishment and in all they have treated me quite well, it is not that I’m a frequent client but that all the staff has great human quality.

I happened to order chicken tandoori and lamb tikka from here. I had to accept this is the worst one that I had in my life time. Tandoori was uncooked and the spices were not even charred properly. Lamb tikka doesn’t taste anything. Expecting it to be an appetizer but it spoiled it. I have no clue why the onion water was added to both the dishes. It made the dish further disgusting.. definitely it’s not a good restaurant to try your taste buds

We loved the menu for dinner, and went back for buffet and unfortunately the food options were very limited, and missing lots of known Indian food. It was Missing lamb curry, chicken curry, sambusa, and lots of other known Indian food. Most food were very cheap. and most of the time the dishes were empty and we had such a hard time to ask them to bring some food out . Specially chicken tandori that they would bring 2 pieces at a time. And were not even fresh and hot, I believe they were warming them up. Tikka chicken is the best; its so juicy and filled with tremendous flavors that are so difficult to know what makes this chicken dish so good. Well, we dont need to figure out what the secret ingredients are, do we? All you need to do is to obtain this delicious dish with your labor of love, your money, and enjoy it, and dont forget to add the garlic naan bread which, I think, is fresh baked - made from scratch! Had the worst experience with this restaurant today. Their customer service is horrible. I wasted my time, gas and energy going to the restaurant to pick up my order. An order they said they never got even though it showed on my end that they did and GrubHub also confirm Shalimar received it. I sat there looking stupid waiting to know what was going on. I finally asked about the status of my order and they said they didnt get it. They did not care to help nor fix the issue even after I showed them they received my order 35 mins ago.
