This place isnt the bestest dumpling house I have eaten, but I heard a lot of good reviews, so I thought to come here to take a visit.Parking can get hard because there are a lot of food and other places shared in the plaza, so do come with some time to spare for parking. There is additional parking underground as well though! (free parking!)The place is located on the first floor, easy to spot.I had quite a few of their dishes (remember these are personal preferences as my taste my obviously differ) including regular juicy pork dumplings (5/5), salty egg dumplings (0/5) -i like salty eggs and its related flavor snacks, but this is just not it, spicy wonton (5/5), beef noodle soup (4/5), their dry noodle with sauce (4/5) - I do love that it came with a side of soup that you can either dip the noodles in or drink it, beef pot stickers (4/5).I do like their spicy line of food, they make it spicy but not too spicy. Enough kick for the road!Overall I had a great experience, however it wasnt the best food in my opinion as I had better.The place does not have AC, the day I went was about 90 degrees, and only the door was open, I wished they had AC turned on or a fan, i was sweating while eating the hots.The owner of the place is Shanghainese, and you can catch him speak with the customers in Shanghainese which is cute, and makes me wish i also speak it so i can have casual conversation about food and this place with him. They do speak Mandarin, so that helps since I can communicate with them. But for regular customers since the servers and owner dont really speak English it makes it harder.I would totally come back here again though!

The noodles here is AWESOME.So so CHEWY!!! It’s literally the best noodles I’ve had. Super flavorful dish as well.The wonton is also yum yum and xiao long bao is great too.Seriously the best place for our homemade Shanghai dishes!

Nice, clean, and beautiful atmosphere. I enjoyed my spicy pork dumplings and were perfect for my boiled vegetable side. There is little street parking and be prepared to pay for parking as well.

Update to 5 stars: when I was in Yin Ji Chang Fen, my girlfriend also wanna eat Xiaolong Bao. So I ask if I can take Xiaolong Bao to another restaurant. Finally, the server delivered the food to Yin Ji!Good and juicy Xiaolong!阿拉上海 in the Bay Area has the same good one~

One of my favorites in the neighborhood for soup dumplings. Beef roll is awesome. Every dish ordered is delicious. Spicy noodle soups have a nice Szechuan numbing spice

Ordered the XLB, 1 regular, 1 spicy and the spicy beef wrap. The dumplings were super juicy and tasty, the spicy flavor of the spicy one was a bit overpowering for me so I recommend the regular one. Pro tip: dont look inside of the dumplings, not pretty, just enjoy! The beef wrap was also good, nice colors and texture. Bill came to about $41 with tax and a couple sodas. Reasonably priced

If you are saying soup dumplings shouldn’t go with ginger vinegar, you are offending the entire Chinese community and is a traitor to our cuisine. In the meantime you should mind your attitude towards your customer.

I was in the mood to eat xiaolongbao (soup dumpling) and came across Shanghai Dumpling House near my hotel (walking distance). Its located in a plaza with many other Asian businesses, and it has its own shared parking lot if youre driving. The restaurant was empty when I arrived at around 2 pm on a Friday. Its a small space, and has a few tables available if youre dining in. I read rave reviews of the Crab and Pork Dumpling (8 total) for $12.95. The waiter told me they only accept cash if your order is under $30.The soup dumplings came out in a metal container. They didnt provide any vinegar or ginger, but there was soy sauce on the table. I thought the dumplings were okay, nothing special. The soup wasnt really hot enough for me. Would I come back? Nah...

Highly recommend the xiao long bao here! These juicy dumplings are worth the stop. Parking is tight, so its best to come at an off peak hour. Service was quick, and they made the XLB right there in front of you. Very fresh and delicious tasting. The fried rice was alright, nothing special. Definitely come for the dumplings, I cant wait to come back and try the spicy ones.

The dumplings are very obviously their specialty. The flavor, texture, and smell are quite heavenly.However, dont come hangry, as the wait time is in the 30 minutes range for food once ordered.

Dear Jon,It is January 6, 2019. You came here to eat with wife and sister after SP. You waited a long time to be seated before waiting a long time for the food. You thought the parking would be very annoying. As for the food, you had the quesadilla burger (beef roll) which was a little greasy and you primarily taste the veggie and not so much the beef but you enjoyed it still. Afterwards, you had the pot stickers which burned you but was very tasty. You had the XLB last and it was pretty good. The soup inside wasnt so hot and in had two layers. Personally I have had better xiao long bao (soup dumplings). What I did like about this place is that they have a variety of xiao long bao. For instance, I enjoyed their spicy one and the salted egg one since you don’t see these variations as often. I actually liked how the salted egg adds an extra complexity to the texture but at the same time bot have the flavor over power the overall flavor profile of the xiao long bao. We came here at a really good time so service was fast.

Very disappointed with the signature dish of Shanghai dumplings. We found them to be very blend tasting. The potstickers were just plain salty and meatless. Would not recommend nor return to this restaurant.

My favorite XLB spot in LA. It tastes 100% like the authentic XLB back in my hometown. I think this is the most authentic xiao long bao in LA, the same as what I eat in China. I don’t know the boss’s attitude. After all, the opening hours are very impressive. Maybe it’s because of the confidence that the food is delicious.

I haven’t been to Los Angeles in three years, so I went directly to his house as soon as I got off the plane. As delicious as ever, this is the taste of inheritance.Every time I go to Los Angeles, I go to his house to eat Xiao Long Bao and wontons, almost every day. I talked with the store and found out that their Xiao Long Bao, wontons, and noodles are all made with their own ingredients and processed using the techniques passed down by the chefs from my hometown. It is not easy to enjoy the authentic taste of my hometown in the United States. Ill post the photos next time I go.

I wont come here again, not to mention how it tastes. I entered the room and saw two ladies making xiaolongbao inside. They ignored me at first. Forget it, working normally is important. I ordered Chaos. Hot noodles. After frying the vegetables, the bag leaked juice after packing. Just take it out for me. He didnt even say to change the bag for me. When I got home and opened it, it turned out that the lunch boxes had been put upside down. Of course, the juice would leak out. Not serious at all. Wont go here.

I ordered the steamed dumplings and it tasted terrible. The service is like fast food and I was forced to pay cash. The waiter chased me out for tip.The bun skin and fillings are both hard, and such a Chinese restaurant is actually opened in San Gabriel, where Chinese people live. Hope this comment helps you.
