We got there just as it opened, so were able to be seated quick. The service was good. The food cooked and served fast. The food was good but not the best I have had, although the flavor on the beef and broccoli was tasty. The service was good. Overall a nice place to eat.

First time eating inside the restaurant. We typically get it delivered to the hospital/ work. And I always get the Walnut 🍤. This time I wanted to try the Sweet and Sour 🍤... Its ok. But, the hot sour soup is 😋always good!

Been coming here for take out years. Cant believe the food served today. FIRST, ordered Orange Chicken. The batter on the chicken was soft, and the sauce was gloppy not flowing. I suspect it was day-old food they were trying to pass off as fresh. I called to complain and they offered to replace with somehing else. I drove back to the restaurant and waited 5 or so min. I should have checked while at the restaurant. Now I had Curry Chicken that was mainly onions and peppers, like 90%. They covered everything up to look like there was more chicken. So disappointing. I guess they were very low on chicken and had to improvise. Anyway, called again and they said I had to deal with Postmates. Not their problem. WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS PLACE. So sad.

April 2023, Very Disappointed. I ordered the Sizzling Rice Seafood Combo which listed Jumbo Scallops, prawns, and crab meat with stirfried mix vegetables. Sounded Amazing and when I got home I found miniature scallops that were inedible. Also Without telling me, they substituted crab for calamari, which was also inedible. The Sizzling rice they provided was barely bigger than the soy sauce packet.

The menu is extensive, but I was disappointed to find that there were no dishes that included rice as a side. For example, if you wanted orange chicken with a side of rice, you had to order a main of orange chicken and a separate main of fried rice. It didnt take long for them to fill our order; Id say less than 10 minutes. The portions are massive, but unfortunately the orange chicken and sesame chicken were soggy. They forgot to include utensils with our takeout order.In conclusion, while the menu is extensive and the portions are substantial, the disappointing food quality left a lot to be desired.

Weve been looking for our newest favorite Chinese restaurant and I think weve found it! Wed been going to the same place for 32 years and the owner retired. 😔Shanghai Garden is quite comparable. Prices are good. Food was great! Servers were very friendly. They have a wonderful lunch menu. We will definitely be going back!

Its okay first time when I got something from here I ordered the chow mein and that was actually very good and flavorful. But it does have alot of oil though. Second time I came here and got their salt and pepper shrimp and it wasnt that great lets just say. The flavor was there including with alot of msg that Im pretty sure has and the shrimp itself wasnt that good. Its too much breading in it and the shrimp inside is actually really small. And plus some of the shrimp from the breading seemed like it wasnt cooked all the way other than that I would think this place is just okay and probably not somewhere I would think of wanting go to all the time for Chinese food.

Was there at slow time - 4 pm. Was seated right away. Staff was pleasant and prompt to serve me. Came back 4 times to see if everything was ok and if I wanted soda refill. I ordered the chicken in black bean sauce. Was very tasty. Not overly salted, which black bean sauce can be. Too many green bell peppers for my taste, but otherwise good veggie to meat ratio. Tea was hot. With soda and white rice added, bill was $15 not including tip. Its close to work so I will be back.

I have been to the Shanghai Garden Restaurant twice, once for lunch, the other for dinner. Both meals & experiences have been top notch. From the minute we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted & seated promptly. The service was always near and very responsive to our needs. The 1st experience was off of the lunch menu. All 5 of our group were pleased with our meals. We all had more than we could eat and took food home. Recently, we stopped by and ate off of the dinner menu. We had the House meal for 3. Again, the food was great, and the portion was far more than we could eat. Again, delicious leftovers. I spend time at the rose garden across the street regularly. Its difficult to find great Chinese food, especially a restaurant with this level of service; however, I have found a new go-to restaurant when I am in the area.

Found my forever Chinese food spot! Ive been searching for years and this place finally did it. Everything was super delicious. I was especially impressed with the chicken chow mein and beef broccoli. They offered tea to start which I havent seen in a couple years. Everything we ordered was bomb as hell. Order from here regularly and while it is not cheap I feel that the quality of the food makes up for the price, however tonight I ordered my usual meal and didnt receive the main part of it. I love the honey walnut shrimp, crave it even, and so for valentines day I decided to splurge and get my daughter and I Shanghai garden. They shooed my driver out the door with only fried rice, chow mein and potstickers while he was trying to confirm the whole order was there. No shrimp. Now I have to pay more money just to get my whole order. Thankfully my very nice driver recommended a place closer to my house with bigger portions and better prices. The food and service is typically always great when we go. Our server last night was very attentive. I hate that i dont remember his name but he did a very good job taking care of us. I didnt like one dish and he offered to switch it out. I didnt even have to ask. He just did what was needed to take care of us. He was personable and very friendly. We will be going back again for sure. Food is delicious too!

We have been here 3 times so far, only found out about it because we got hungry while having coffee at Tiferet next door, and were so glad for that day! The first two times, we had the to-go lunch specials, I got tofu and veggies and my husband got teriyaki chicken both were served with steamed rice, both were delicious and fresh food. The third time was dine-in dinner. I had spicy tofu with veggies and my husband had kung Pao chicken. We also ordered the veggie chow mein. It was all so delicious! The chow mein is the best Ive ever had anywhere. I highly recommend this restaurant :)

Very mediocre Chinese food. It has been a couple of years since weve ordered from them. We had a to-go order of four items for two people for dinner - shrimp with lobster sauce, salt & pepper pork, chicken chow mein, snow peas and water chestnuts. Shrimp w/ lobster sauce had few shrimp and was so runny that it came in a soup container. Salt & pepper pork were battered pork nuggets instead of pork chops or pork spare ribs and some of the pork in the nuggets were hard and dry. Snow peas & water chestnuts was way, way overcooked, a no no for Chinese food. The chow mein was the only item that was good. It will be a while before we give them our business again. Their location right by McKinley Park is extremely convenient for us especially if were in a hurry, so eventually in a couple of years well try them again.

We are very picky about our Asian (Americanized usually, we know) food and this place was a welcome surprise. Pu Pu platter was delicious, mushrooms, delicious, everything was lovely. The nutmeg flavor I saw in a less than stellar previous review was actually likely to be cinnamon or cassias, a common ingredient in savory Asian foods. I have always loved that flavoring and this did not disappoint. The only downside was the lack of filling in the crabmeat cream cheese wontons, which probably leaked out during frying. Wonderful food, will eat here again.

Im new to the area and searching for a decent Chinese Food Restaurant. Since this place was a few blocks from our house it was my first obvious choice. My fiance is not a huge fan of Chinese food but will eat it with me once or twice a year. After reading some of the reviews I felt this was a safe place to try. I ordered veg chow main, veg fried rice, Mongolian beef, crispy pepper fish and egg rolls.The good: the fish was fantastic and I almost ate the entire entree in one sitting.The meh: the chow main had great flavor but was a little on the greasy side for my taste.The bad: my fiance was looking forward to the egg rolls but spit it out on the first bite. There is something in it like nutmeg that made the rolls taste off.What ever was in the rolls was also in the Mongolian beef. As soon as I opened the iconic little take out box an outhouse like aroma hit me. It immediately when into the garbage.I would definitely go back for the fish and Im curious about their foo young.

Food was good however packaging on our to go order was unacceptable. The lid to the sauce for the sweet and sour pork was cracked in leaking all over the rest of the food. I think using another bag instead of packing 115$ worth of food into one plastic bag could have been a better idea. Also, picking up the food was a hastle because we could not find the order number the person was talking about. We couldnt find it and it was just overall an annoying experience.

I came on a Saturday and it wasnt too busy. I was seated fairly quickly and the server brought out some tea. We waited for 30 minutes for someone to take our order. Our table was close to the front door and mulitple servers passed us by several times. We looked around and other tables were waiting to be served. It was very disappointing as the restaurant was not very busy. Some of the menu items seemed interesting and I would have like to have tried the food. In the end, we ended up walking out and the staff didnt even notice. I will not be returning to this location. I would suggest ordering to go if you want to try this place.

The cooks came out to look at me and stared at me in a very strange way. I feel like the food they gave could be spoiled and this place has good ratings 🤔. Please proceed with caution. Went there for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Waitress was friendly and the place was fairly empty. Ordered the Sichuan Chow Mein. The menu showed a little icon of a red pepper next to the dish indicating that it was spicy. Dish arrived within about 10 minutes piping hot. Wow! This was one big plate of noodles and it looked yummy. I got a pair of chopsticks and chowed down. Mmm good! Not spicy by my standards but tasty all the same. At around $8, it was a great value too for the huge portion served.

The food is always good. Our favorite menu items are the crab cream cheese wontons, beef broccali, any of the fried rice, and honey walnut shrimp. Orange chicken is ok I would say. This last time we sat in the customer service was off. There was a cell phone behind the counter where you pay and it kept going off at a high volume playing a very annoying song. After telling staff about it a couple of times they continued to ignore it. There was also a very rude phone order customer that walked in and had a loud confrontation with the staff in front of us all

I ordered the Mongolian beef, a dish that I have eaten often and always enjoyed. Ordered on Post Mates. When it got to my house, it smelled like a urinal cake. I called and asked for them to make something else and I would pick it up, I was told No, we cant do that, and thats the bamboo, it smells like urine.First off, bamboo does not smell that strong unless it is old and/or canned. At $12 a plate, youd think that A) theyd use fresh ingredients B) It wouldnt be served 50% bamboo, and only 20% beef and C) if the customer was truly unsatisfied they could maybe make something else? Instead, I was told that my food was supposed to smell and taste like urine, and there was nothing they could do. LOL That is really crazy. They literally told me it was supposed to smell and taste like piss.

Ive heard about this place a time or two before, so I decided to check it out for lunch. I should have followed my first mind and went to Safeway for a deli sandwhich. Lets start with the parking, or lack there of! The parking situation was horrible. There is a very small shared lot that can be easily filled by Shanghai Garden customers alone. I had to circle the block three times to find a park near by. The restaurant itself was pleasant. I didnt take any pictures of the inside, because there was nothing photo worthy nor was there anything that stood out for me.The people were pleasant and greeted my upon entering. I noticed there was a special of the day and decided to try it. The special was crispy fried salt and peper chicken over steamed rice. I placed my order and waited patiently for my food. The order was filled quickly, and I was on my way back to the office.Upon further inspection of the food, I found it to be bland. I eat chinese food a lot, and this food tasted like it needed some seasoning. How does chinese food need seasoning? The breaded chicken was greasy and had no taste; not even salt. The vegetables were steamed appropriately, but they too lacked seasoning or taste. Overall, the meal tasted just like the white rice, BLAND! I tried to drown it in soy sauce, but hypertension is not something I want to play with, so I ended up eating only half of the meal.

Mediocre Americanized Chinese food. We ordered the szechuan green beans, hunan tofu, and twice-cooked vegetable pork. They were all swimming in similar tasting sauces that were way too sweet without much spice or savoriness going on (and they were all labeled spicy). When I saw Szechuan and Hunan style I was hoping for some real spicy food with deep flavor but it all tasted like the same generic sauces. The bamboo shoots they use also have a really weird smell and taste that I didnt enjoy -- almost like urine honestly. It wasnt horrible but just wasnt very good, and we wont be ordering again.

The location of Shanghai Garden is awesome, as are its cleanliness and friendly service. Unfortunately, the food is only so-so. Dishes that have been tasty have included the Honey Walnut Shrimp and Mu Shu Pork, but the Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice, and Hot and Sour Soup didnt have much flavor. Its not bad, by any means -- just not delicious.

I dont go to that restaurant anymore. I went there with my Service Dog and the person I went in there to see had a dog in there who has always been aggressive towards my dog and started a fight with my Service Dog. The staff kicked me out and allowed the other dog to stay who wasnt an actual service dog. He stole my Service Dogs vest that I lent him and is using it on his dog. Management was totally wrong in just kicking me out.
