Not a very big place but just enough to enable parties of 5. The dishes are all served as family style so you should be prepared to share. The prices are really good compared to what you pay for around the bay. The family that runs the place are as nice as can be. We ordered a lot of food so Ill just touch on a couple of items that I really liked. The dried pork noodle was nice and flavorful. The beef noodle was not super flavorful but boy is it hearty, try to finish that even with help!! The soup dumplings were nice and fresh, most definitely my fav dish. You dont come away feeling heavy or bloated. All the food came out fast and hot, you would not be disappointed coming here.

Absolutely delicious. If you love Shanghai style Chinese food, this is a great place to go. Went with a friend, ordered the dried green onion and pork noodles, curry beef noodles and the pan fried bao and were both stuffed by the end. All great dishes and I will definitely come again.

Legit Shanghai flavor from a Shanghainese. Pan fried bun would take longer to prepare but everything else got served in a second. Not the nicest ambience but replicates the early 2009ish when I was little and eat by a small restaurant on street side.

This place is certainly not for the non-chinese people. The food is either horrible or it requires a different palate altogether in order to appreciate. It is not the american version chinese food. For instance I order shanghai shui mai and found that the wrapper was filled with sticky rice not the usual pork.

Such a great place. The food is so delicious, and the quality and quantity is def worth the price (not expensive at all). I am from Zhejiang, China, and the taste is very close to what I had since my childhood! This is the best Shanghai dishes I had since I came to US five years ago. I just moved to Fremont recently and I am so happy to have found this awesome restaurant. The service is very good and people are polite and kind. The inside decoration and arrangement style is very close to what we have in China, which makes me very warm haha. I will come here more often. We did not finish what we ordered and took them back home. The next day when I heated and ate them they were still so delicious. I have decided what to order next time lol.

If you havent noticed, I have a slight...very slight addiction to noodles.Small tiny hole in the wall restaurant, easy to miss because its on the corner where it is located in a small plaza.Parking: handful of spots, but was able to get parking pretty easy.Menu: So youll want to see what is available that day with supply chain issues, I heard the table next to me get told a lot of items werent avail.Spicy Beef Noodle Soup: spice on this is the numbing type of spice, so if you arent into that flavor maybe not get this. The noodles were al dente upon arrival, but the soup was INCREDIBLY hot (you can see it in the pic) so I was reminded of being 4 when my mom would tell me to blow on my noodles. Make sure to add some vinegar too, adds to the flavor perfection. The portion is GINORMOUS so you can easily share this. Beef was VERY tender. I would consider getting this again! I think I would ask for noodles on the side (if theyll do it) so that the noodles stay al dente. By the time I got to the end the noodles were soft. With taxes, paid about $14.Staff: very nicePayment: Cards are not accepted unless you spend $25Would def consider coming back if Im in the area :)

Pretty good and authentic Shanghai style dishes, especially the cold dishes which are perfect for warm days. And the noodle collection/selection is complete and very well put together. Reasonable prices and can be your escape from the your daily cooking duty and still satisfy your stomach. Highly recommended!!!

Authentic! If there were no English translations or dollar prices on the menu, theres no way you can tell youre in California. As the clientele was 95%+ Chinese, you only hear Mandarin. I ordered the pork with green onion noodles for $8.50 after tax. The noodles were ok - about the same quality as what youd get if you boiled 99 bought noodles yourself. The braised pork was good. Portions were really big, making it a good value of you have a hankering for lots of noodles. Its quite busy on weekends - I had a 5 minute wait at 2PM on a Saturday. Service was fast and terse - like any local Asian mom-and-pop shop, it runs on quick turnover, not on service or tips. Worth a repeat to try other items on the menu.

Eh. This is going to be a solid 2.5 reason 3 was because I got a good chuckle on todays visit. As I entered and requested a table for two, it was packed and our server made a person sitting at a table on his phone to get up so we can be seated. Haha probably a family friend or a more direct approach to kicking a person out so new customers can sit. Good times.Given a paper to-go menu pamphlet and ordered the #19 - Spicy Beef Noodle soup and the XLB - soup dumpling. Order was put in and some table snacks were brought out. Nice. Food comes out and first thing you notice is: portion is really good and at its cheap price point. The only issue was, it wasnt what I expected it to be and was very bland. The spice is there but thats it. I literally had to do 3 full spoons of black vinegar to get it any flavoring. The soup dumpling was delicious. I would go here again for that and maybe Ill try something else if I do make a visit.

The food here is really legit Shanghai food. We got two noodle bowls to go along with Bao and smoked fish. Everything was packed neatly and clean for us to pick up in a box. Food was made quickly and we ordered and got our food within 15 minutes. Everything was freshly made and tasty. The portion size is huge that we at for two meals. Great value.

Very nice homeystyle SHANGHAI food.I havent had such authentic steam fried buns in a long time. They really get the stuffing, bun texture, bun thinness, and flavor right. Usually when you order this in America you get a huge mouthful of bread drenched in sauce.But this is also a place where it would help to bring a Chinese person to read the menu and know what youre getting - the English translated names are not that helpful and they dont have a picture menu.

We got a couple of dishes for take out. Im American but my wife is Shanghainese and recommended this place so its legit!Their sheng jian bao is the best in the area imo! so juicy and satisfying.Also loved the xian rou cai fan! It was really pleasantly salty and one of my favorite fried rices. Apparently its very simple to make at home and I want to try now.

Customer service is great, the waiter had a very welcoming attitude from the time we first stepped in the door. He even took time to show my two kids how to use the sticks to eat and also recommended their top ordered dish in which we enjoyed and have since been ordering the #7 rice dish and #8 dried pork noodle on a weekly basis. Weve become regulars that now when we make a phone in order for pick up, i drive up to allow my 8 yr old son out to pay and pick up our order shortly after we call in our order

Been meaning to post a review on this place.I don’t have a lot of experience with Chinese food but this one was pleasant. I was running late (an hour late) into picking up my order but the cashier was nice about it. Best thing the cashier did for me was that even though their Credit Card minimum was $25 but my amount was only $14, she still allowed me to pay for my stuff with my card even though I was willing to buy another item on the menu.Got the Dry Pork and Green Onion Noodles and Green Onion Pancakes.Now...given that I was late, this can change the texture and quality of the food. But when I got to eat it at home, the noodles were still springy, a bit soft but holding to their form.I was really surprised at my Green Onion Pancakes! They were still crispy!! They were a thick patties and not thin but I still loved it.The number one thing I noticed was the smell. I know people can be picky about smells and it bothers them...and I’m one of those people. I thought I was going to get a burnt onion and strong oily smell from both foods but surprisingly enough, it wasnt the case. They were strong smells that I actually enjoyed. However, after 30 minutes of eating the smell soon stuck in my house and took a while to get out haha. But it still made me want more of the dishes.Pros:-proportions were not too big nor too small.-pricing is good for the amount and quality.-kind customer service.Cons:-Smell may not be for everyone.-When I picked up my food, noticed that my container (chinese take out box) for my pancakes were open...and my take out was on a table that anyone can get to. Freaked me out a bit. I understand that if they closed my container then the heat from the food will ruin the quality of the pancake but still, I think it would be wiser to keep customer’s take outs behind the counter instead of out on one of the tables where someone can mess with your food O_O.

The food was delicious! HUGE portions and very affordable. Noodles were soft yet firm, not mushy and sticking together. The soup didnt taste like MSG, and we didnt feel super thirsty from it afterwards (Im sure there is some, but it sure didnt seem like there was a lot if there was any...) We were a party of 5 and ordered 3 noodle bowls and an appetizer to share, and we still couldnt finish it all! The place is kind of small, so if you go with a larger party, you might have to split to 2 tables. They are a mom and pop restaurant so they might be short on staff. They made a solid effort to attend to us, so Ill give them points for effort. Would definitely recommending coming here.

Ive been here quite a few times with my parents. These are the dishes Ive had here:- green onion and pork dry noodle: It was really oily, but the flavor was really good and unique. There was a lot of meat, and I wish they put vegetables or something because I sort of got tired of eating it after a while. It could also do with more onion!- pork noodle soup: The fried pork pieces were too thin and too dry, so the pork wasnt too good. The noodles were good too. The soup had a bone base, so the soup itself has flavor. The noodle soup and noodles were really good, pork not so much.- watercress wonton soup: I really like the dumpling skin. Its quite chewy and sturdy, unlike a lot of skins which are really soft and somewhat mushy. The insides are good too; vegetable dumplings are so good. The soup it got served in is good too; again, the soup has a bone base, so the soup has flavor. They also put egg strips and seaweed too. Yum! The only complaint I have is the soup was more oily than it could have been.- spicy beef noodle soup: beef is really tender, and there are green vegetables (yay)! There are a lot of noodles, and its sufficiently spicy. Quite good.- Shanghai soup dumplings (xiao long bao): theyre decent! Theres soup inside, and the skin is pretty chewy and good. Theres a lot of meat inside, and its pretty tender. I was pretty impressed with these.- vegetable with rice cake: it was too salty and oily, but the flavor was pretty good. The portions were small compared to the other portions they serve, but still decent.All the dishes had really huge portions! And for so cheap. They also give free tea eggs, one for each dish you order I think. Quite good. I would definitely come here again if I want to eat noodles.

My family and I were devastated when one of the most authentic shanghai style restaurants closed down in millbrae. The taste here is authentic and delicious. You just have to make sure you order the right things. I highly recommend the xia long bao (soup dumplings), shanghai style chow mein, and the sesame rice ball soup with rice wine ❤️ its a small restaurant but so rich in taste!!

Braised lion head, double rack, small wontons, and xiaolongbao all taste authentic. The outer shell of the oil dumplings is a bit hard, probably because there arent many people ordering it, so Im going to put the oil in the pan again, so Ill order the popular flavor next time. A full table costs RMB 51 after tax, so just give 20%, and the tip is only RMB 61, which is a great deal.

It feels better than other Shanghai restaurants even if the dishes are not super rich.But it can really be called a treasure shop. I visited it for the first time today after passing by it for five years. From the noodles to the soup to the toppings, it is full of familiar flavors. It is really well cooked and authentic to Shanghai.Very surprised! And the price is affordable.Will continue to come here to try other dim sum soup noodles which are very dry.The lady boss is very kind, but the aunt who makes wontons is a bit fierce😓btw worth mentioning! The small plate of peanuts they sent did not sprout! Very fresh! In Shanghai, many stores also sell peanuts with pointed tips that will sprout quickly and serve them to customers😓Five stars!
