Delicious food and huge quantity! The lite lunch 1/2 sandwich 1/2 soup or salad was filling enough for me. The pastrami on rye is fantastic and I enjoyed the cabbage soup too.Pistachio cake is a must have, the best! It was perfect for a group of 6+ for us to have bites of it while some took a slice for later. The chocolate cake was 2x the size and yummy too!Quick good service and the inside/outdoor space is great. Outdoor patio seating has heaters and would be good for furry animals.The wait for our group in afternoon (2pm) on Saturday was fairly quick (15mins) in beginning of Dec. Our group enjoyed all the foods we got from French dip, matzo ball soup, etc.

Just like I remembered in a good way! My grandma used to bring me here as a kid when I would visit her. Now Im here visiting Palm Springs as an adult & had to introduce my husband & friends to Shermans deli. I was worried it wouldnt be as good as I remembered, but it was so delicious! And filled my heart with wonderful memories of my visits to PS & my grandma. The staff was friendly & engaging. Amazing service from Oscar! The sandwich was large so my husband & I split it knowing we each wanting our own dessert. We are here for a few days and my husband & traveling friends want to go back before we leave. So that says something. Thank you for filling my heart with more Shermans Deli memories.

We stopped by Sherman’s Deli after seeing all of the great reviews online and we were definitely happy that we did! The staff is friendly, outgoing and really make you feel welcome. I had the beef brisket dip, which was delicious! The meat was tender, juicy and flavorful. My husband had the pastrami and corned beef sandwich which he loved. The portions were large so you certainly get your moneys worth. I will definitely eat at Sherman’s whenever I’m in Palm Springs.

We went to Shermans Deli and Bakery because a waiter from a different restaurant suggested we go there after asking for a dense no flour cake for dessert. I didn’t find exactly what I was looking for, but I found a rich chocolate dessert to share with my beloved. They have lots of choices, including sandwiches that New York delis have.

Great service! Simple but delicious and tender corned beef and pastrami sandwiches. The recommended carrot cake and coconut creme pie were great! Should have taken a star away because of the rude girl behind the dessert counter, but the other staff helped me to try to overlook that instance.

The best breakfast spot in Palm Springs. The wait time can be long sometimes during the weekend but it’s well worth it. Everything is very big portions so get ready to eat. They got indoor and outdoor sitting l. The service is always on point. The bakery is soooooo good as well so make sure you get something from there as welll. Meow meow

One of our favourite stops in Palm Springs California! The food preparation here is spectacular with excellent service to match. A pooch friendly patio with misters make outdoor dining here very pleasant. Highly recommend you try it!

As an NJ native, my standards are very high when it comes to Jewish delis. That being said, this place definitely delivered. Especially when you consider the location. The food is definitely fresh and authentic, and the service is great. The prices are a little high, but where else are you gonna get jewish deli food.I couldn’t decide, so I got all the popular items. The pastrami and chopped liver combo, with a side latke as a substitute for my potato salad. The chopped liver was ok. The pastrami was pretty good. The star of the show was the latke. VERY crispy around the edges, cooked perfectly in the middle. Next time I’d just order that :)I also got the much-hyped San Jacinto cake. It was HUGE. Literally 4 servings. It was decedent, and large, but it’s quantity wasn’t exactly matched by its quality. Overly sweet. Considering the price I was expecting more.

Shermans is so good! Been going here for years when in Palm Springs. In the tourist season, (October - May) there will most likely be a wait for brunch. Everything Ive ever had here is awesome! The corned beef breakfast plate I swear is like over a pound of corned beef, maybe share it with someone. The wait staff treat you like family; they are so nice and sweet! They have a multitude of desserts. All kinda of cakes and pies! Today I had the nova lox and onion eggs. Coffee is fresh and good!

We had a group of 8 eat here for lunch. Really feels like a deli in NYC.Be warned that they do not seat any party without everyone standing there together. Even if a member is in the restroom they wont seat you until they get out. Was a strange rule.The food was good and the place was busy. Shermans Deli is a place to visit. You will not be disappointed by the menu. This place has a lot to offer. It does get busy, but dont be alarmed they have 2 locations. I highly recommend trying their sandwiches and pretty much any of the dessert they offer. Ill have to make time to take pictures, but both locations are great! Give them a try if youre in the area. Family friendly and it has a lot to offer food wise.

Iconic Jewish deli in downtown Palm Springs. Full menu, but specialty are the house pickles and hot pastrami on rye. Huge dessert menu with cake, pies & cheesecake made daily. Try the key lime pie with white chocolate shavings, the San Jacinto layer cake, tiramisu and red velvet cakes. Youre doing yourself a disservice if you leave PS without visiting.

This place is so good. First, the menu is huge. Anything you order will be one of the best versions of that dish available. The wait times can be a little long, but the restaurant is big, and they have a lot of tables. The service is friendly and efficient, and as accommodating to large parties as they can be. I had the Reuben. It was delicious. I wish I had more time in town to eat here again.

Food:One of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten, I mean the brisket was cooked perfectly and went well with the jus and bread. There are tons of options and variations of the dish that youll find something that suits your pallet. The carrot cake was also really amazing.Ambiance:The decoration fitted the traditional of a deli; its 90s but it works well. A ton of posters everywhere with plenty enough of tables for your next visit. The entry service seemed a little pushy; we didnt even pull the chairs that they asked us to order a drink. Otherwise, our server was really nice and caring, especially concerning a garlic allergy a party member had.Value:Expect to pay around $18 per person to get a really high quality sandwich that can last to the next day because of how big they are. The cakes are definitely something you wanna try, just one slice will probably serve ~3 people

Tip notch deli in southern California. We drove into town during a late spring storm and were cold and hungry. This place was just what we needed. Lots of good warm delicious deli food. The Reuben is a must try. Anything with lox is great too. My gf and I thought the atmosphere was great. The line can seem long but it moves fast. The staff here are very helpful despite it being so busy.

Wonderful diner serving all three meals, all day long. Delicious sandwiches, cakes, and everything else on the extensive menu. There often is a line waiting to get in, but just put your name in, and your turn to be seated will be up soon. Both outdoor and indoor seating, your choice! The staff is very quick and efficient! It is one of the best-ran restaurants I have ever seen. Give them a try, and you will thank yourself that you did!!

I was as usual looking for a place with gluten free options and was surprised to get an actual gluten free menu. I had a turkey sandwich with a side potato salad and a slice of chocolate cake. It was all so delicious. They even serve pickles when you are seated and they were some of the best Ive ever had. I would go back in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them whether you have a gluten allergy or not. Its just too good not to go and you would be missing out.

It was standard and came premixed but I had to ask for more dressing because it tasted like it didn’t have any. Big pro - Portion was HUGE, I ate it for about 3 meals. Prices are quite high after having to leave a tip! The food isnt as flavorful as I thought it would be. But its tasty enough, but I suggest sharing a meal, if you plan on getting dessert. Dessert is also sharable, with most desserts being larger! Ive been twice. This is an old school establishment, and I do like that and its very clean! Service was very good! The cake with the cheesecake in the middle is the best one in my opinion!

I love this place! It was my first time in palms springs and we had dinner at Shermans. It has a classic retro feel with pictures of celebrities that have visited. Their bakery was insane. The sandwich are so full of meat they were hard to put in your mouth. The turkey and the roast beef sandwich were fresh and delicious. My husband and I visited Palm Springs and stumbled upon Sherman’s because it was right across the street from our hotel—and it was the BEST food we had on our trip. The first sign that they were doing things right was when they brought a tray of fresh pickle spears to our table immediately. Then, I ordered the best turkey melt I’ve ever had. We drove by 4 times and couldnt help noticing the place was packed every time. The patio was full. So we finally said lets go in. We split a corn beef sandwich toasted on rye which comes with a tiny portion of either potato salad or coleslaw. We asked for the potato salad and paid an extra $5.00+ for the very tiny portion of coleslaw. We ordered a Ginger ale soda. They dont have this. So we got a root beer. Soda is free refills. This share of a meal cost us over $30 ++. We considered one of their amazing looking desserts (which are $12+), such as the carrot cake but honestly, we were full. The sandwich - even just half, was very filling. Its the typical kosher deli diner you would expect in Montreal or New York. Obviously beloved by the locals. The menu is extensive which includes breakfast and dinner. We loved it, though those portions on the side potato salad and coleslaw were on the skimpy side. Easy parking on the street or lot. Wheelchair accessible. Very prompt service. The kitchen works like a smooth machine. Excellent dining operation. Its definitely a local favorite.

I am from out of state. I have been here before for breakfast and had a great experience. This time I went for dinner and also had a great experience. We ordered the New York Style Hot Pastrami Sandwich with rye bread $19.45 and the Roast Brisket of Beef dinner special $18.45. Yes, it was expensive but I knew that before going, I just wanted to have a nice dinner in a nice rating restaurant, so I knew I was going to pay a bit high, you can see the menu online, but the prices have changed to higher, just fyi. Our waiter was Araseli and she was really nice and helpful, we had a great experience with the service there. The food was bland, huge portions of tasteless meat; my roast brisket was so undercooked and flavorless, I had to ask for barbeque on the side to dip in my meat, it came with a steam veggie salad and it was also flavorless, that meal was not worth the money at all. The pastrami sandwich was also flavorless and cold (it supposed to be hot) the bread was not toasted and the sandwich comes with nothing but meat and bread, we asked for lettuce and tomatoes to make it have flavor, it came with a little tiny cup of overly sugared coleslaw, too sweet to eat. The celebrity photos we came to see were mostly photos of very famous celebrities next to mediocre celebrities signed by those, like a photo of the Rat Pack signed by Joey Bishop (not very famous rat pack), and a photo of Lucille Ball signed by Little Ricky, and most ridiculously, a photo of Elvis signed by I do not know who!? Going back to the food ordeal, after we left the place, we got such stomach problems, it was horrible and we were sick all night and half of the next day, it kind of ruined our vacation for two days, it was food poisoning for sure. I really wanted to like this place, but we did not have a good experience after, it was really bad!

The food was amazing but the reason of 2 starts is the waiter name Mitch with his attitude.This place always has been amazing throughout the years. I’ve been there countless of times since I was leaving in another state and now I’ve been living in Palm Springs full time in the past 5 years. I always took all of my visitors to this place and never been disappointed until today. Today we went with the party of 7 and our waiter was Mitch. The foods were as good as always but the service was TERRIBLE! when we received the check, we decided that we will split the check so we asked Mitch if we can borrow a pen so we can write each card number behind the food list that each card will be changed for. Which this was the method that the waitress told us to do last times we visited this place. But rather than just Mitch hand us a pen or tell us any other method he would prefer, he literally THROWN the pen on the table and walked away while saying “good luck about that”. But at the end we decided to use one card and figure it out later so we can get out of there before we kill the mood of our group. The bills was around $170 and we still tipped $30 even though we received a terrible service at the end. The entire time we didn’t ask for any extra rather than just the food we ordered and more water.Mitch, if you aren’t happy with your job you can just quit and go do something else that will make you happy. Or learn how to do a good service or good communication with customers.

Pacific outpost of the traditional lower East side Manhattan deli. The standards of corned beef, pastrami, and potato and cheese latkes were all outstanding. The sandwich lasted 2 days. There was a wait, but not long, and parking Sunday afternoon was not as bad as I heard. The takeout counter is very active and gets you access to the bakery smorgasbord to eat later because you wont finish your table order. Mitch, my server, was helpful, entertaining, and quick to help. Everyone had leftovers. Make the trip and save the 5 hour flight and traffic pain in Manhattan.

Stopped in before seeing a movie. Had a chicken salad sandwich which was tasty but sort of plain. My hubby had a very large Greek salad he enjoyed; fresh and satisfying. My dad had a Ruben sandwich he said was good but missing the thousand island sauce. Service was good. Dont miss the bakery, we got goodies for the movie, yum. Best pastrami sandwiches in southern california! Ive tried all the pastrami and corned beef places cross Southern California and this one is the top dog. The flavor of their meat absolutely delicious the bread is fresh and cook just right. I had the fries as a side and they were excellent. The restaurant was very clean and updated. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Their dessert section was something to write home about. They had the most amazing looking desserts. The portions are huge. I did not have any of the desserts but they were selling a lot of them. As far as the pastrami and corned beef sandwich I had, it was one of the best Ive ever had. Check this place out you will definitely not be disappointed. This is a deli that takes pride in the food that they serve and it shows in the final product. Sometimes I have to drive 20 miles out of my way to get here, but its totally worth it for me. One real fun aspect of this deli is backed by the bathrooms they have autographed and personalized photos from pretty much every major celebrity an athlete whos ever gone through Palm springs.

Im sure all the other staff is wonderful,but Marti was amazing throughout the whole dining experience. She gave recommendations and it was pretty busy so she made time for us. If I could give her 10 stars for service I would. The food was top notch, I have raved to all my friends and even when I was sitting there I sold my sandwich to other tables 🤣. Recommend to us by @teachseuss, we discovered what the opposite of FOMO is because NO ONE gets cheated at Sherman’s Deli & Bakery. The portions are so large here that I nearly put my head down on the table signaling by immediate surrender and defeat when our server merely approached our table with our meals. My only words to him were, “Are you going to pull up a chair and help us eat all this food?” (BTW. I was being absolutely serious.)Do you have an angry teenager who questions his/her meal portion sizes at home? If so, I’d suggest bringing that kid here, stealing a line from Toby Keith by asking “How Do You Like Me Now?”, and then smiling during your fork drop. 🍴⬇️When you’re seated you’ll receive a small dish of pickles and sauerkraut. They are both outstanding, so be careful not to dismiss them without at least a sampling. I got the triple-decker club sandwich (#7 on the menu), which is a turkey BLT. There were generous portions of turkey and bacon. I ate one quarter and took the rest home. I will get four meals out of this! 😎. The sandwich was fine, but I found it to be rather bland. So I was told about this place from a friend. We don’t have any Jewish bakeries in Riverside so it took an hour to drive to. I took orders for a New York bakery called Zaybars and wanted to see the difference from ordering from New York versus a Bakery in California. I was attending a conference nearby at the convention center, and a lot of the people attending were RAVING about this place, so of course I had to drop by and see what all the talk was about. Seems to be a cult hero among those who know the go and was not disappointed at all. We were getting some friends who recommended Shermans Deli and they sure didnt disappoint. Food and service read great. This is a NY deli dropped in the middle of the California dessert. One of us ordered the pastrami and brisket sandwich by mistake and we werent amazed at the size of it. Imagine 2 full sized sandwiches stacked on top of each other. There pastrami and rare roast beef are the standouts IMHO. Next time I will order or ask for that combo. The pickles arent as good as the best Ive had in NY but its close and thats amazing to find here. We shared a slice of the coconut cake and it was a bit too sweet for my taste but I dont have a sweet tooth. Ive dined here numerous times and usually had a good experience. Todays visit was actually pretty bad due to our servers disposition towards us. We came for breakfast and was sat in a booth section near the register and an older lady (Marti) came over (no introduction) and started spewing the morning specials and then she walks off. She displayed passive aggressive behavior towards us and charm and friendliness to her other customers in her section. I did bring the issues up with the Owner Sam who seemed to make excuses for her behavior and didnt seem too concerned as he stated that shed been there a long time which is a poor reason for this occurring. I bragged on this restaurant to my guest that I brought but will not be returning. We were treated like dirt compared to everyone else around us. Her holding up the $100 bill to the light in front of us was the rotten cherry on top of this awful dining experience. Treat everyone the same is the conversation you need to have with your staff. We were rushed by a passive aggressive waitress who obviously did not want to serve us with the same energy obviously reserved for local patrons that she knew.

We enjoyed the outdoors, in their ample patio seating area as their menus and takeout containers blew all over the place during a rain, hail, and wind storm. It was a crazy storm that dropped the temp from 85 to 60, but their soup and sandwiches warmed us right up. The French dip was lean beef on a hearty baguette with fry circles and the half sandwich with soup is available day and night. We almost wore our neighbors leftovers as they flew off their table, across ours and off into the Palm Springs void that was the storm. The patio does have heaters, which helped us look less cold as those who dined inside look upon our less than advantageous choice for deli dinner al fresco. As my empty beer bottle and my partners wine glass became unstable objects like everything else that wasnt tied down, we devoted one hand to potential projectiles and the other to their tasty black and white cookies made fresh daily. Just before we paid our check and strategically place the tip, in cash, under a hefty pile of condiments, we ordered a couple bagels and cream cheese for the next days breakfast, which made for a great travel companion on our way out of town. Not one dull moment or flavor at Shermans. We highly recommend it, especially during those rare weather events in the desert.

Quality meat but that’s about the only favorable aspect. Low rating because the pastrami was picked from the “hot” sandwiches menu but I ended up with some limp sourdough and dry pastrami. No sauerkraut, mustard, mayo (unlikely but who knows), whatever you might think is typical of a pastrami (especially a hot one). Why didn’t I ask for it? The menu said it was their favorite so I thought they’d like a good one too. Definitely not a nearly $20 sandwich. I also had a nearly $20 chicken salad sandwich that was about as exciting as corn flakes (with milk).

This deli has been around for awhile. It seems like a place the locals know well. The bakery with all the delectable baked goods are heaven. Ive never seem such a giant cream puff before. I tried the New York style pastrami sandwich. WOW it was good. Its all about satisfying cravings when I have options. My sandwich came with creamy cole slaw that went really well with the pastrami.I have to come back to try other menu items for sure.

I love this deli! Peabodys close by claims to have the best Bloody Marys, but I have to say the best are at Shermans. Not too salty. But what I love the most is the bread. The Rye, nice and perfectly soft. Not sticking in my teeth. Great corned beef and pastrami!

The bakery is good, but the deli is where its at. I had the brisket eggs benedict. It blew me away. Unreal. I also got to try the hot pastrami. Ive never had more tender pastrami in my life. It was amazing. We got a couple desserts from the bakery to-go, and they were good too, but nothing like the meal itself. Really really excellent.

Update 2022-08-06: Its the hot summertime here (111° F right now). But, although not real crowded, there were plenty of seats with no wait. Wait staff are very nice and attentive. The order arrived quickly and was the same high quality. Same menu but slightly higher prices 🙄. I had the two knockwurst with baked beans and potato salad, and iced tea. My partner had the pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and hot tea. As always, highly recommended.Very good place to eat in PS. Very good food and service. Good Jewish Style (not Kosher) menu serving breakfast lunch and dinner. Sunday breakfast has been very crowded in the past but I dont know if it still is. I was there for lunch and it was full but not a long wait. Very good Early Dinner Specials. Great desserts to choose from. Dinners in the past were big portions. Dont know now since a lot of places cut back after reopening after the pandemic. Inside and outside dining. Plenty of parking.

I’ve been to Sherman’s Deli several times but unfortunately this last visit wasn’t as good as I was hoping for. My pastrami and eggs was inedible. Left all pastrami on plate as I’ve taken 2 bites and realizing that it wasn’t good and gave up pursuing it. $59.43 plus tip seems a lot for such a common plate of inedible food

They have vegetarian options for me (Impossible burger) and a huge selection of others including one my husbands favorites, the cornbeef sandwich. Service was also amazing. Look at those cakes! I have been telling friends to stop by if ever they are visiting or passing through the area. Fantastic service. A whopping big sandwich that was delicious down to the lettuce. And let me tell you that their cheese danish is outta this world. At the time (early October 2021) proof of vaccination was required to sit inside. Sadly, that meant there was a line for patio dining while seating was immediate in the dining room. Look at the pictures of the pastrami sandwich. Look how ripe that tomato was. It was so delicious with the saltines of the meat. My wife and I shared the sandwich, each of us making three open face sandwiches. This place is a winner.

Great local place! Grabbed some chicken sandwiches to take with us on a hike and they were delicious. They also had gluten free bread which was nice—bread wasn’t amazing but having the option was great. Also had a couple of cookies that were just lovely! One of the last authentic kosher delis still that hasnt changed their menus due modernization. This place is awesome and would drive back to Palm Springs just to eat here. Was looking for something to eat after walking the main drag in search of something. Most places were closed or were bars and we were looking for actual food. After driving around we saw this place and we were incredibly surprised. Food is awesome and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Cant say enough good things about Shermans Deli!!

The bread is the best although I was a little dissatisfied when my food arrived and find out that the Turkey is cold but the pastrami is hot. The bread was not even toasted but didn’t mind it because it was really good. Just saying I would’ve enjoyed best if the bread was warm and toasted. The texture wouldn’t feel so dry and won’t break right way. $20 sandwich not sure if I would go crave that in the near future. Great service and parking is great. Im awfully late on writing this review I dined here on November 16th around Brunch hours. My waitress was Sofia. She anticipated our needs, gave amazing recommendations and provided excellent customer service.I looked over the Yelp reviews prior to dining in at Shermans Delicatessen. I was like a kid at a candy store when I walked in the night before and picked up a beautiful Napoleon cake to take back to my hotel room and nibble at all night long. This place was packed. Youd think it was the only place open but no its just that good and popular.We had dined outside in the near the Palm Springs sun light, and the overhead provided some shade for us as we sipped on our tea and socialized. My party of 2 enjoyed themselves here taking a look around at the city life, people watching views and dogs sitting comfortably below the tables sipping from water bowls the restuarant provided for dog owners. This is a very dog friendly city.I have planned on ordering the Monte Cristo as it is one of my favorites sandwiches to order at Disneyland. Unfortunately the Monte Cristo sandwich is only available on certain days I believe it was a Monday and my waitress advised me on which times to come.And so I ordered the pastrami sandwich because I was eyeing it and a 1 large latke. Sofia, the waitress recommended the deli mustard and oh my! I felt like I was getting a real deli experience having real mustard with grains from the mustard seeds in to bottle.The food was delicious! They have big portions here and they are well worth price.Sofia was humorous and she made me feel welcome here. I cant wait to come back. I loved her hospitality.I tipped her very well.My good friend had ordered Belgian waffles and said they had tasted it off He had ate only 1/4 of it and seemed quite upset I had offered him a couple things off the menu but he had seemed to allows his appetite so I had told Sophia about my friend being unhappy with his plate. She recommended 2 to 3 things off the menu that might suffice after she saw that he was no longer hungry she took a note of it and took it off my bill. I was quite surprised and thanked her when I had seen the bill for the meal.I cant wait to come back. From my initial experience I still rave about this place.

I was recommended to Sherman’s and was disappointed as soon as I sat down. I ordered 2 farm eggs and sausage, with a bagel. The sausage tasted like it had sat for hours before it was served, and I know it wasn’t fresh because it was about 5 minutes from order to serve. My son ordered the same thing except bacon, which also tasted like it had been cooked hours before and sat.The coffee was nasty, and the prices were way to high for the food we got.Thankfully we were only visiting PS and won’t go back to Sherman’s.

Bring your appitite since the food portions are large and enough to split. I order a salad and half sandwich and it was very good. My daughter orderd the pastrami sandwich with a side of fries and it was a huge serving of meat on a soft bread roll with melted cheese. The true winner was the pickles they quickly bring to your table as soon as you sit down, they are delicious!!! Great sandwich and service. Short of perfect, but deserving of five stars and here’s why. Ordered the #5 which is 1/2 pastrami and 1/2 corned beef with Swiss cheese on rye. I can never decide between the two so this combination was perfect. I thought it was a bit on the pricy side at first (about $20), but fed two of us with a little left over. They didn’t have hot mustard, but gave me the two they had (sweet and hot as well as deli). The service wasn’t over the top friendly, but I called, they answered, took my order, it was ready when they said and I was able to take my sandwich on the trip home with little to no wait (which is amazing because the place is always crowded).When I the PS area, I think I’ll have to make it a regular go to spot for the drive home because the sandwich really was delicious and hit the spot.
