Came here with some hungry friends. We ordered off the happy hour menu and regular menu. Tbh, sushi is overpriced for what it is. Expect $20 - $25 rolls that are average in quality and taste. I don’t think I’ll return unless it’s the last resort. Sorry Shiki I expected more.

Shiki Sushi is awesome! The fish is fresh and the service is good. I like to sit at the sushi bar. Ask the chefs what’s fresh today and they’ll tell you what to try. I lived in Japan for 2 years and this place reminds me of places I loved in Japan. The omakase sushi dishes are really wonderful.

Cute restaurant. The food was excellent and had a very nice presentation. We came here on Sunday night for dinner and there was about a 10 minute wait before we were seated. The staff was very friendly. We will definitely come back sometime.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been coming here for years. At some point management changed and then I stopped coming but I think somethings changed back and the food is amazing again. Here are some pictures from my most recent visit their. I also love Rizky. He just makes you feel at home . My favorite sushi spot . It’s a very nice and family oriented sushi place. Dates are great but I wouldn’t recommend a first date on a weekend . Way to much going on for a first date and super loud.

Went here on an early Friday night & the wait was not so bad (20 minutes, they had only 8 tables open at their patio.) I ordered some of their fresh & baked special rolls 😋😋.and also crispy baby octopus - delicious!👍👍 The servers are all attentive and friendly. They serve you free miso soup and some small sample of their sides- edamame, bean sprout with sesame & seaweed salad.

Love Shiki! Shiki is a great local sushi restaurant that caters to its regulars who have been coming for years. Shiki sushi lies within Sushi Row (the stretch of Ventura blvd between Vineland Ave. and just past Coldwater Canyon). This is known around the globe as Sushi Row because there are the most densely packed Sushi restaurants within this stretch of Ventura Blvd., just under 20 in total. Considering there is a Michelin star Sushi restaurant and some of the most famous names in sushi, so Sushi snobs thumb their noses at Shikis larger portions and lower prices, but this is the best Sushi for the money hands down!

Our family had the dinner bento, tempura udon, fried dumplings, and a cooked roll. Apparently went to a sushi place without trying the sushi. We enjoyed the food. It wasnt special but it was made well and was satisfying. It seemed like there was a number of long time customers since the staff seemed to know them by name. But tbh felt that the service throughout the meal was kinda lacking, we didnt get much check in until the food was almost done. In terms of service, what stuck to me the most was when I was trying to enter the restaurant with my toddler in my arms and had a little trouble with their front door, their hostess just stared at me and didnt even showed any sign to try and help me. We came around early 7 pm ish on a Saturday night and the restaurant filled up pretty quick after that. I can also imagine that parking would be a nightmare if all the businesses had been open. No diaper changing station on the first of two restrooms.

They DO NOT care about their patrons and will OVERCHARGE and not refund you!!! We’ve been coming to this place for couple months even though we live about 35-40 mins away because the food has been great. However, that all changed yesterday. We ordered our usual the 2 items bento box and was charged the dinner price, even though it was still lunch time. The packaging of the bento was horrendous with the miso soup and tempura dipping sauce ending up spilling everywhere in the bag and stained our car seat. They only gave us half of a container of rice which is fine but still inconsistent. We also ordered 2 orders of our favorite - the salmon chunk roll, only to find the chopped scallion they put on top was spoiled and the salmon consistency was mushy and did not taste fresh. I contacted the establishment as soon as we got home and was told the manager was at lunch and will return in about 2 hrs and will return my call then, that did not happen. Called again today and was told that the manager will be there around noon or 2pm and to try calling then. Just called at the specified time and on the third try someone finally answered and guess what? The manager will not be in today at all (clearly avoiding). Honestly, I could careless about the 4 dollars they overcharged but on principle, it is absolutely ridiculous how they’re treating their patrons. Not only do they obviously not care what their customers think, they are actively avoiding to make amends for their mistakes.

Had dinner from Shiki Sushi on Ventura Blvd. Personally, I dont eat raw fish, but everyone else in my party said their sushi was outstanding.I cant comment on the interior of Shiki Sushi because we had our meals delivered. Theres a pandemic going on.The meals were delivered by Door Dash. Their app didnt allow us to make substitutions or send specific instructions to the restaurant.My meal was teriyaki salmon which was very good. Tempura calamari, which was fair. The tempura wasnt as delicate as tempura is supposed to be. It was more like breading. The calamari itself was a bit overcooked and not as tender as calamari is supposed to be.There was also miso soup. Normally, I dont like miso soup, but I did like this miso soup.There was also a salad and part of an orange. Both were excellent.

Been ordering delivery from this restaurant for 3 years and this weekend I finally decided to sit down at the restaurant. Bad choice. Sat down, the server plopped down the wasabi and that was it. Didnt say hi. Didnt drop water. For the next 10 minutes I watched our server completely ignore us. He was vaping publicly!! I couldnt believe my eyes. I watched him as he chatted with the table 2 away from us. He brought them one glass of coke. Then he vaped, went back to the kitchen, went back to the table and chatted, then vaped some more. Never once coming over to us. At this point, seeing the smoke coming from his nose, I have had it. I left. I will never be attempting to dine here again and probably wont ever order delivery from here ever again.

Weve been working our way through the (many) sushi options in the Valley, and for now, this is our favorite. We didn’t really care for it. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, not sure. The Tuna Popeye had Tuna that was obviously frozen tuna out of a package with a mealy texture. The Rolls Royce Salad was a weird salad of iceberg lettuce, seaweed salad tangy dressing and a bunch of random end cuts of fish that were obviously scraps from cutting sushi and some pieces seemed “fishy” tasting and not fresh. The yellowtail collar didn’t come out until we were paying for the meal and getting ready to leave. We were going to take it with us but tasted it and it didn’t seem to have an ounce of seasoning on it, nothing not even just a little salt. Also, our waiter took our order and we never saw him again. Not even when we asked another waiter for the check. The only reason this is not a one star rating is because the tempura veggies were really tasty and when I went back in to get my mask I forgot on the table, the busser (or other waiter) saw our food on the table and noticed we hadn’t eaten any of it and he seemed genuinely apologetic for us paying for it even though we didn’t enjoy it. Wasn’t the best experience. Hope it’s better for someone else.

Honestly, I really wanted to like this place, because its located so nearby to my house. Unfortunately, out of all 4 rolls we ordered, (Volcano, Hawaiian, Geisha, and Lobster) I only liked one (Geisha), which was very delicious. I called them like 10 times but they can’t hear me so I asked my friend to call them and same thing happened. Their website/Yelp/Google all say this place closes at 10 pm. So at 9pm I got in my car and drove the 15 minutes to place an order after looking at their menu for quite some time. I was excited to pick up some food to take home. However, when I got there, I waited several minutes, per the posted sign. Once I was finally noticed, I was informed the restaurant (which had probably 4 tables filled with people, some still placing orders) had already closed. The person acknowledged that the website showed different hours. I dont understand why, if you own a business, and youre aware the information on the website and Yelp and Google are wrong, you just allow it to continue that way without requesting changes, which is incredibly simple. I dont appreciate my time being wasted, when I could have ordered from another restaurant that was actually still open. I wont be coming back, since I wont know for sure whether or not its actually open.

I am so disappointed. A gem of a sushi place. Before you even order, they serve you complimentary miso soup, edimame, seaweed salad, and marinated bean sprouts. If you go between 11:30-6, its happy hour with $2 off large beers and sake and buy one get one 1/2 specialty rolls. The quality here is fantastic and everything is always delicious. For the price, the size/quantity of what you get matches well. They get very busy after 7, so making a reservation is recommended. Food comes out quick and the waiting staff is attentive and friendly. It definitely a see you next time type of place.

Probably one of the worst experiences when it comes to service. The staff was completely oblivious. We waited a long time at the door (the restaurant was dead) before we were seated, and once seated by the staff we were treated like we werent supposed to be seated where we were. It took forever before we got to order anything. Even after taking to the manager about their poor service, his attempt to fix the situation was a bottle of Kirin light. The only reason I have then two stars was that their sushi was good and served quite quickly, but thats the only compliment Im willing to give. If you want piss poor service Id recommend this place, other than that, go somewhere else.

The manager who is the owner’s son is incompetent. He told me the wait was 30-40 minutes. We had five people. After an hour I asked how long. He pointed to a table and said when they are done he will seat another family of five. When that family is done then he will seat us. I thought he was insane. He would not put two tables together. This is terrible. Costumer for a long time I ordered from postmates and they dont have any options to choose if i want any sauses and cant call either. I still gave it a chance and they dont even put spicy mayo. U just ruined my food How can u not put spicy mayo with sushi. And second of all the rolls and the sushi are very bad u need to check ur fish. If u dont want to get sick dont order from us. Really nice sushi spot. A friend brought me. It is tucked away at the back of the parking lot. We had some sashimi. Ahi and Salmon.Staff had an attention to detail and was quick on refills and follow up. I will be back when Im in the area for sure.

I have been coming to Shiki Sushi with my family regularly for almost 25 years. I picked up a to go order today and my server YUNG was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! I watched my chef TINO preparing my order from the waiting area. He washed his hands between handling every single component in each of the rolls. He was in a hat and full face mask as well. The manager Jinnie also went above and beyond!!! I rarely leave any reviews but the service and quality was so outstanding today that I just had to take the time! Thank you to the staff at SHIKI SUSHI!!!

The food was amazing! Rarely am I inclined enough to explain my experience unless exceptional or terrible. The choices are unique and very tasty. Prices are very reasonable even cheap cuz I wouldve paid more for that. Good stuff cant wait to go back.

Worse customer service ever! The guy named Rizky doesnt wear mask and is very unprofessional and is not a clean server.General manager didnt care about our experience and told us go ahead and post online.The server named Rizky serve without mask and touches plates and customers by hand shaking. He is the only one there is rude and unprofessional and needs to get fired for sure! Because of him we wouldnt go there anymore!!

Incompetent waiter that told us what we wanted was no longer available, however when leaving we noticed a a table near by with what I wanted. Drinks were left empty for an absurd amount of time. Green tea cold or warm was disgusting, green tea is my favorite drink but here it was undrinkable. Sushi rice was not that sticky plus no rice on the bottom of the rolls caused majority of the rolls to fall apart when picking them up. The wasabi was very light in color and tasted watered down. The calamari was chewy. On top of all of this is was overpriced. I would recomend trying some of the other sushi restaurants in the vicinity.

Their oyster just made my fiance violently sick. Almost immediately after ingesting the oyster he started to feel flu symptoms come on. Shortly after, he was in the bathroom throwing up. I tried to tell the chefs that the oysters were off but all they said was they were only opened yesterday, they should be fine. We havent decided if the hospital is necessary yet but after him violently vomiting on the entire ride home, those oysters were not fine.
