2023-12-04 22:52:02This hole-in-the-wall sushi spot has so much character and definitely deserves 5 stars. All the indoor seats are at the bar, making it a more intimate experience, which I liked. Signs are posted all around teaching you about the chef, the sushi, the tea. I loved it! The miso soup was great and we were big fans of the brown rice sushi - it had a great texture. Glad we chose this spot for our date night!

2023-04-25 17:02:32Coming here is like stepping into a world away, I have yet to visit Japan but I imagine going to eat at a neighborhood spot would be much like stepping into this tiny gem of a sushi spot. Its literally 6 seats inside and one table outside on the sidewalk for larger parties. Its run by a husband and wife duo whos stories are wonderful (and posted on a little sign for you to read). They use brown sushi rice and only provide you with soy sauce in little spray bottles as well as instructions on the propper etiquette of sushi eating. Definitely get the chefs sushi flight special, you wont be disappointed!

2023-11-28 04:19:49A true hidden gem of the area. I was admittedly skeptical when I saw that they primarily (only?) serve brown-rice sushi, but the sushi is incredible! Very limited seating so may be tough to get a seat on a busy night. But if there’s a wait it’d be well worth it.

2023-04-21 21:28:56You must try this place! It only has 6 seats inside so you get amazing service and it is run by the sweetest husband and wife. They use fresh ingredients and it’s one of the best miso soups I’ve ever had. The spicy tuna crispy rice was also delicious. We got 4 different rolls and they were all good.

2023-03-07 03:54:09Mom and Pop shop with 6 seats inside and a table outside. High quality fish with very fast and friendly service. Brown rice only, but this did not impact the flavor for me.We tried the special and each piece was better than the last. Would recommend dining in.

2022-07-09 02:31:04Places like this deserve 6 stars. The sushi bar is humble. The food is passionately made. Chef Thomas and his wife Sohpia approach what they do to their fullest. The food here is balanced in flavor. The rice is so delicious that to waste a grain is too much. The sashimi was served at the perfect level of freshness and temperature. The crispy rice is something Ive never had before; it did not disappoint. Im glad I chose something unique. Id recommend trying out out.Thinking about normal sushi rice and then rice here isnt the same. It changes the experience of the rolls. The Alaska and Chewbacca rolls make my mouth water even thinking about it. The chefs choice on the special rolls is exquisite.I asked for his favorite roll. For that he served us the godzilla. Because the ingredients used were so fresh and prepared with such care, a usually greasey roll was rich with smokey flavors and balanced rice. For dessert we tried the truffle. They come out frozen and ad they thaw you can start to chizzle away at it. The food is meant to be eaten with as much care as it is made with. This is the place I will take visitors for sushi.Such a splendid experience.

2022-02-22 15:09:35Amazingly fresh sushi that is always served at the perfect temperature and cut with the precision of a surgeon. The flavors are remarkable and the new spicy roll with habanero was a great addition for the heat seekers 🔥. They only serve rolls with brown rice which is healthier and taste better imo. Can be a bit pricy but worth it. No liquor allowed, respect the Shikibu way.

2023-09-15 19:49:50A great place for a simple, quick, not-heavy, sushi-centric lunch. It’s not cheap but you feel like what you pay for is coming through in the freshness and quality of ingredients. If you like sushi at all, don’t sleep on this place.

2022-05-10 06:16:58What a delicious sushi place! Tons of variety in the dishes— you can order nigiris of the same fish prepared in many different ways (yuzu, shoyu, truffle, etc). A bit pricey ($7 per nigiri piece and $20 for a roll), but you definitely get what you pay for. The dishes are so flavorful and fresh. One thing I wasn’t a fan of was the amount of wasabi used for every piece, it really burned my throat! Next time I’ll ask for less. Small place, but it feels very private. Excited to come back again and try the other nigiris.

2023-08-27 06:25:41Food was decent. Sushi rolls was filled with a lot of rice. Bar is small! There’s about 5-6 bar seats. Maybe better to order to go!
