Unfortunately this location is take out only. There is no seating here although they could’ve added a table or two. You may want to reconsider eating here, however as the atmosphere is somewhat cluttered and dingy. The ramen was very good when enjoying it in the comfort of your home. I would recommend it as takeout only.

Ramen thats only to go? Gave it a try since shin sen gumi in fountain valley is like my favorite place ever.For sharing the same name, it doesnt really share the same taste. Its more like a second cousin instead of a sister restaurant. The noodles seem to be similar but I would love to be able to choose firm as you do at the other location. I got the roasted garlic and the broth was quite flavorful with a clean taste. There are some topping missing like the ginger and the boiled egg is quite literally a 10 minute boiled egg that isnt marinated or or soft boiled at all.Verdict: Its not the same, but its not bad. For convenience? I might give them a second chance and come back for their standard $12.50 hakata ramen and make sure to add gingerFood: 7/10Value: 5/10

Love the option of Shin Sen Gumi on the run. A spin off of their sit down restaurant but still a hit in flavors like the original.I got the Hakata Ramen with bacon corn ginger chives and their GGC and spicy miso. Rich flavors, noodles firm enough to make it home and not be soggy, the meat so tender and flavorful while all the sides came nicely packed.If you love ramen and great service try this place. Make sure you add some GGC and Spicy miso to your bowl if you get the original Hakata 🔥👌🏽 it won’t disappoint.

The food was not too bad but the service was terrible. First off I wasnt able to order on their site so I asked if they could take a phone order and they denied it. As soon as I got there they said they were not gonna be taking orders unless they were online so I had to ask a friend to place an order for me. As soon as I got there they were very dismissive of me and even seemed quite angry.

I love this place I come almost every weekend. I usually get the beef curry and when they have yakitori I always have to add some skewers. Chicken skin, cartilage, thigh with negi, meatball, liver, pork belly, shrimp. Its all good paired with a Premium Malts or Orion beer.

Love they have draft beers. Got some snacks and they were fresh and hot, good portions of kaarage and typical 6 for the takoyaki. They have a lot of to go options too, great little spot!

Didnt know what to expect being my first time but rather small on the inside. Visited an hour before closing, so idk if the place kinda needed to be cleaned up after a long day, or thats just the way the place is kept.Ramen was good. Service was ok.Yes, I would go back.

Never knew they had an express shop. Didn’t really had time to try the ramen but I did get the chowder croquette and it was interesting. Could’ve given an extra piece for the price but I guess inflation…

Truly, the best “pandemic take out” ramen in this part of town, reasonable prices and combos. Broth cools quickly when it’s not served indoors in a sit-down restaurant bowl, but the shinsengumi flavor is in there. Four stars alone for tasty takoyaki, and the generous helping of bonito flakes.

Order Ramen with egg and curry pork cutlet. I came home to find out they forgot my egg. Why did i tip them.... Ramen is blend and curry pork cutlet taste same as curry at home. I do not recommend this place. Service is horrible and their food is worse. I would never come back here.

My favorite ramen place. So happy they open up in Anaheim. Their regular Hakata Ramen is hands down the best! Definitely recommend. They also have yakitori occassionally and yes, it is delicious.

Cute vibe! Definitely a take out place but there’s still a variety of options at the menu to choose from. The food quality is great and the staff are quick and pleasant.

They told us they’ll send text to notify food is ready. After 15 mins of waiting I had no notification from them so I returned to check and there was cold ramen noodle sitting there for God knows how long. It tasted bad. Not cool. $17 for a bowl of mediocre ramen in thin plastic bowl doesn’t worth it!

The restaurant itself is a small walk in to order and get food. The seating is all outside in the walkable areas with plenty of seating. The restroom is also around the corner and they have the code for it. I ordered the negima skeweres and curry and it was a solid dish and experience. Their skewers are not single order but multiple so do note that before ordering.

Worst ramen I have had to date. noodles were hard, insanely spicy without asking, no toppings for the price. the yaki was chewy and gristle filled. it was grey colored meat. the gyoza are tiny. the spicy chasu rice was a glob of mush and chopped green onions. I want my $75 back.

Ordered maze soba, chashu rice, 2 kinds of skewers, and they were all too salty.Overall, its alright, but Im not sure if Im gonna go back... its a bit too pricy for what they are... I would take my money elsewhere.

Honestly the worst possible experience ive ever had at a restaurant, ive never eaten anywhere where i couldnt even tolerate eating more than one bite but i guess i finally found a place that did that to me. if you want the saltiest most sodium filled food then come here because you are just going to get a mouth full of salt and seasoning. kobe beef is such good quality meat but they decided it needs to be covered head to toe with salt to the point where it was crunchy. i asked for karage with just rice and nothing else and they gave me karage soaked with the saltiest dressing ive ever had PLUS tons of mayo and TONS of green onions and TONSSS of cabbage. my friend got cheese balls but they were still undercooked on the inside and a chicken plate with yakitori and the chicken was undercooked as well. i was just so disappointed and sad and it was such a waste of money. i cant believe theres so many good reviews for this place when we had such an awful experience

Shin Sen Gumi was a nice dining experience. The food was tasty. They had outdoor seating for the promenade area, but I believe this restaurant is primarily take out. The weather was nice and since we were meeting friends from out of state, we ate in the outdoor dining area. The ramen was good tho the portions aren’t as large as some other ramen places.

No free water. This isn’t Europe, this is California, and it is in fact in the USA, no matter how much they pretend not to be. Further, it’s freaking hot here. A 2 cent cup of water isn’t going to destroy their business anytime soon.Further, coupled with it being utterly forgettable ramen at such a high price point without even so much as bothering to warm up the pork belly leaves this place with 2 stars. I was tempted to just leave one, but at least it is sort of flavourful.

This was my first experience eating yakitori in a restaurant setting and I was not disappointed. I really wanted to try their premium selection, but went with their standard selection today. I hope to try their premium meats next weekend! There was no line when we went at 1 pm. The food probably took 10 to 15 minutes to grill.

Awesome newish spot on the promenade! The ramen is great! They do hakata ramen really well! The broth is so rich and full of flavor. We also were able to to try the yakitori during the weekend and it was cooked to perfection. The chicken thigh is worth getting if its your first time with yakitori. The chashu fries were a nice side to enjoy it with as well! Definitely will be coming back!

Their own website is down and they refused to take phone orders.They force you to order through their partner websites which charges 1 to 2 extra per item...AGAIN, I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM AND THEY REFUSED TO TAKE A PHONE ORDER.Like they cannot imagine Im standing there making a order....I like 1 min away and do not want to pay extra just to make a phone order or a online order....Basically ripping you off....

Great service and great food! Lots to pick from from appetizers l, to combos and Japanese drinks! Dine and and out side seating. Definitely hits the spot and perfect area to dine. Was surprised at thier dessert menu! Definitely recommend this spot!

This is the 2nd time I got pork cutlet curry rice. I got it on my way home from work. Pork cutlet and curry was super awesome. Crispy and great flavor. The rice was undercooked? (rice was pretty hard). 1st time i got it everything was great.

Very tasty katsu curry rice, ramen, and yakitori. Unfortunately, I didnt like the kaarage very much. It was kinda mushy and I wish it could have been crispier. But other than that the service was nice and friendly.

Took them 35 mins to get our food ready. It also seemed that way for the other customers as well. Very frustrating. Staff seemed stressed out. There was no apologies about the wait to customers from staff. It was Saturday 25th 2022.

Such amazing food!!!!! Were already Shin-sen-gumi fans of Little Tokyo & Fountain Valley but this one is a whole other game!!! The ramen is just as bomb as expected, the yakitori out of this world & the fries, HOME MFing RUN!!!!!!!!!! Just take all my money now.

Got the hakata ramen and really liked the broth. Pretty good! The egg I added was hard boiled instead of soft boiled so that was little disappointing, but definitely liked the dish! Will be returning.

I tried posting takoyaki. The taste was okay, but they didnt give me a napkin and put the hot food right in a plastic container, so I was a little embarrassed because I was worried about environmental hormones.
