It used to be one of my go-to yakitori places, but not anymore. The lack of options doesnt bring many surprises, although the meat quality remains consistent. Be prepared for a wait—its always a waiting game.

Extremely kind staff, cheerful upbeat atmosphere. Excellent food. I cant speak as to the authenticity, but the food is very good. I dont like pork, but their pork belly will make you a believer. Shrimp fried rice and takoyaki are also very good. Creme Brulee my favorite dessert here👍

Pretty good ramen and chicken katsu. Convenient spot to satisfy my Japanese comfort food cravings. There’s a good variety of lunch sets to choose from and are a good sized portion.

We came here on Sunday evening, they were out of a few dishes we wanted to have, account for that because they might be out of what you came for. Also there was a long line. We waited for about 40 minutes to get seated, but there are few benches outside. Other than that, the food and service are good. The atmosphere is very live = noisy. :) last call on Sunday is 9:45.

Awesome place for small bites of grilled meats. Chicken heart?, yes. Grilled beef?, yes. Has a variety of grilled meat and vegetables and the price is reasonable. The calamari salad was very tasty and a descent size for 2 people. After about 3-4 plates of grilled meat everything started tasting salty afterwards. This was our first time so my wife and I went overboard with the meat. Be warned that this place is not kids friendly and very small. I would not take my 2 kids here. Very limited table seatings, as we both sat at the bar.

Excellent ramen. The soft boiled flavored egg and the bamboo are to die for. The soup flavor is just on point. Dear owners, please don’t ever change the quality. I’m willing to pay more if ingredients cost more.

Speechless... Just mmmmm when you take your first bite of noodles or first sip of broth. A huge rush of nostalgia and a just like how I remember it. I loved this place years ago in college and so thankful its still here and still the same. The noodles (highly recommend getting it firm) have such a great texture and the broth is every so flavorful but clean. Not too fatty, savory, or oily.The inside is definitely cozy but I suppose it gives it more of a traditional ramen shop kinda feel.Food: 10/10Service: 6/10Vibes: 6/10Value: 7/10

I loved it. It was a true and really good experience. Its just like visiting Japan, I love it so much I will definitely be going back here. But a woman did slip on a wet floor and I dont know if this place is still up but it is amazing the food the service and atmosphere was incredible please go support this business its amazing.

Great food if youre in the mood for something unique. Almost everything is good here. From the beef tongue to the chicken gizzard. I love it all. Favorite items by far are the two items wrapped in bacon, the cherry tomatoes and the quail eggs. Gotta give it up for the meatballs and chicken skin too. Oh man, did I mention special chicken heart too? You will not be disappointed.

I like the vibe in this restaurant, it’s very unique, very Japanese. All dishes were very good, go best with alcohol! Must get the fried oysters, best dish so far. Service is fast and staffs are friendly. Only open from 6 PM.

Shin Sen Gumi has two main yakitori locations. This location features counter top seating, and also some floor seats where you can get comfortable and take off your shoes. At the counter, you can see them grilling away at the skewers on a long charcoal grill. You can order as you go and get a wide assortment of tasty meats and grilled dishes, alongside other japanese dishes that you may find in an izakaya.

A way different experiment from other ramen places. You sit in and the cooks are in front of you, they serve you promptly and they create a nice friendly environment. The ramen is great, the sides are amazing, and you can get ramen refill for an extra dollar.

A fun place to eat if you have not experienced a variety of Japanese cooking styles. A variety of yakitori (skewers) to choose from. Similar to an experience you would get in Japan including the food, size of restaurant and welcome the staff extend as you enter.

Totally delicious and worth the wait for the food. Highlights of menu:1. Tako wasa2. Intestine3. Duck meat4. Chicken heart & chicken gizzard5. Mussel miso soup6. Rice with fried egg and7. Cant leave desserts: green tea brulee. Best of the best!! I can come here only for this desserts!!Serves with hot sake or cold beer are both great. Very decent price as well. I love Shin Sen Gumi and have been coming here regularly for some time. Everyone is really friendly, the good is great and served quickly, huge choice of meats and dishes and of course you can choose the ramen side or the Robata side. Get there ahead of opening to get your name down for a seat. Highly recommend to all!

We dined on the side without the Ramen, but all the skewers dishes we had were amazing!! Especially the Kobe beef skewers, insanely good!! But we tried a few other dishes like the shrimp tempura, cream cheese egg rolls, the rice balls, the soft crab salad and everything was delicious!!! The staff was very cordial and friendly, I highly recommend this place. Next time Ill be going to the ramen side for sure to try what theyve got.

An EXCELLENT place to enjoy delicious food. Small, almost hole in the wall, I decided to come here on a whim and was blown away by the food. So so so delicious (I had the ramen, chasu, and curry chicken). Great place, excellent staff.

Gimmicky!!! I would rather this place concentrate on there product more then yell at each other in Japanese. The place could really be good if they had better choice of noodles. No soba noodles and a very confusing way to order. The pan fried dumplings were tiny, dry and lacking flavor ( skip). Broth was marginal at best. Noodles were a disappointed and place is very trendy. Coming fresh out of Tokyo just hours ago I was in the mood for another round of ramen but it wasnt going to happen here. Sure, probably the best place in town, but they have a lot to learn. Very good yakatori but expensive man! Meats on skewers are bite size but good. Kid portions, lol. I eat here with my wife and easily spend 100 bucks with drinks. They have a separate checkin so don’t walk into their their ramen side. This side serves the bbq and the dining room next to it serves their ramen. Two different yelp checkins so that was confusing at first. Both are good just depends what you wanna eat. Bon appetite!

This place was awesome! It has a great feel to it. The staff was very nice and helpful. The food came fast and was delicious. Although, there is almost always a very short wait, ours was 2 mins, this place is well worth it. There is an iPad out front where you sign in to the wait list. You must try it at least once. Best ramen place Ive ever been.

Came here in 2017 for their Thanksgiving challenge. Also come here just with friends on a regular basis. This staff here may not all be Japanese. But they truly are by heart and soul. The broth here is delicious, not too salty. The noodz are nice and chewy. And the fact that I could customize what I can not have in my ramen, outstanding! We always be coming back.

Unlike the main store in Gardena, they dont seem to get many Japanese customers.Since the location is different, the way the stores are managed is different, but you can enjoy the robatayaki where you can enjoy freshly grilled hot skewers directly and enjoy them.You can specify the saltiness and sauce flavor for the skewers. If you eat it with the yuzu pepper that is always available, it will give it a spicy kick and it will be delicious. Yuzu pepper goes well with both salty and sauce flavors.---Good taste. It is different from serving compared with a Main Restaurant in Gardena, then there are few Japanese Customers here. Anyway, you can enjoy Just Grilled and Very Hot Skewer Cuisines directly served from Grill then feel Very Comfortable.You can choose Salt Taste or BBQ Sauce Taste, then adding YUZU-KOSHO(Mashed Paste of Chilli, Citrus Skin, and Salt) it is always put on the tables and the counter, taste changes Spicy then more tasty. YUZU-KOSHO matches Salt Taste and BBQ Sauce Taste.
