The fam has been coming here for over 10 years. Its a cool place when you want to celebrate an occasion. We never sit at the hibachi, but it looks fun for folks who sit there. Their menu options and flavors are pretty good. Service is always professional.

Lunchtime didnt have much of a wait, but if you have a smaller sized group, the tables hold 10 so theyll seat you with another group -- just get chummy & friendly!Salmon, chicken & garlic rice were the biggest hits. Daughter loved the scallops. Chef was amazing and fun, but servers were busy even with a not-busy restaurant...a few reminders for drink refills.Increase in prices was sharp, but plenty of rice at least.The chef show might be worth coming again, for a birthday.

I will never order from Shirasoni again. Ive repeatedly asked for extra sauce for the tuna appetizer and Happy Roll. They have a special sauce for each. The last 3 times there has been no sauce period, let alone extra sauce. Tonight was the last straw. Below are pictures of how my food arrived. Almost $60 and Im done.

I’ve been coming to Shirasoni since 2015. The food is consistently good. This is our family’s favorite restaurant, we’ve celebrated lots of special moments here. The hibachi grill never disappoints. The sumo dish that consists of salmon and fillet mignon with garlic fried rice is the best. You get more for your buck when you dine in.

This was my second hibachi experience. The last time my party got items from the grill but I only ordered from the kitchen. This time I wanted to experience the fun. Our chef, Sergio, was amazing! He was fun, attentive, amenable to our preferences and kept us entertained with jokes and grill work. I ordered the shrimp tempura. Its my go to at Japanese restaurants and this was crunchy and flavorful and they give you a decent amount. I ordered the shrimp and garlic rice. It was delicious. Sergio flavored it just right and everyone in my group loved it. They have an extensive cocktail menu and I ordered a Godiva hazelnut martini and a German chocolate cake martini. They were delicious but very strong. I should have only had one. I will know for next time! All in all, this was a superb dining experience.

The best tepanyaki meal ever! The garlic fried rice was so moist and delicious, make sure you ask for extra garlic! I ordered the Sea of Japan and seafood was cooked perfectly! Sergio, our cook was entertaining, friendly and funny thus making our dining experience so delightful! To top it all, they gave my son a slice of cake with a Candle on it and sang happy birthday to him, he was celebrating his 23rd bday! I would definitely go back here again! Efficient fast service and friendly staff! 😊

The place was a busy atmosphere! They had regular seating and tepan table! My first time coming here and it was nice. Good vibes, great food, and staff were ok. I really like the cold Apple sake. They had a lot of sushi rolls to choose from. I couldn’t decide, but I ordered the Benz Roll, totally lived up to its name! It was beautiful and tasty!!!

I feel bad writing this but the restaurant changed and not for the better. The steak is gross. Looks boiled. Tastes bad. Veggies undercooked. And they definitely changed their sauces. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s terrible now. Will not be returning. Just sucks I’ve been coming here for so long. And the prices have raised like crazy!

So I gave this place a 2 star. Why? 1. We were seated at a table that barely fit 4. We were a party of five so the tables are too small. 2. Our waitress was very new, she did ok taking or drink order then we ordered only appetizers because we had 2 more people coming. They were just trying to find parking. I specifically asked to have our appetizers served first so we could eat them with our drinks. We got or first appetizer, fried calamari and it was literally COLD. My husband sent it back. By that time we ordered our entrees. We got our entrees together with our appetizers, it took about 1.5 hours to get or food. We ordered a second set of cocktails that took even longer even with 2 bartenders and a runner to get our drinks. So my suggestion is to get better organized with the wait staff and be more attentive to what the customers wants are. It was not a very enjoyable experience. We spent over $200 dollars and would have spent more had the service been better, more organized, we didnt even get any silverware or small plates. We literally had to ask the runner to please get us player and silverware and napkins so we can eat or food. The portions were a bit small and too expensive. We wont be coming back.

The steak was rubbery. The vegetables were undercooked and under seasoned. The rice had some weird flavoring, they must have got a new cook. . My wife ate hers even though she wasnt happy with it. Party of 6- This last visit was awful. I was highly disappointed. I ordered a deep fried California roll and a crunch roll they were a mushy mess. The coating for tempura was used and it was disgusting. This is the first time I ever seen a sushi place use that kind of coating to make a crunch roll and note to Shirashoni. Stop it. I ordered a bento with chicken teriyaki and it was flavorless. Cook just poured the sauce on it and that was it. Husband ordered the tepenyaki and the garlic rice, again barely any garlic flavor at all. The restaurant is dirty. It needs a deep cleaning. Our cook seemed less than enthused to be there and barely spoke or engaged with us. For the price they charged, Im going to Fuji grill Instead next time. This place has gone down hill. Never again.

I must say we went on a Monday at about 12:30 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. so because it was an off time I wasnt expecting the world but I went for my birthday with my family and the service was excellent the show was excellent this is a Benny Hana style Japanese Steakhouse the chef also had quite a sense of humor our server was extremely helpful and prompt I cant say more it was a fantastic experience all around my wife mentioned it was my birthday or the server overheard them singing to me so she brought us a complimentary piece of tiramisu cake with whipped cream and chocolate syrup also I got my on free for free or at least I thought because of my birthday you have to sign up on the website and they will send you an email for free Entree but what they really do is take a full $30 off the mail everything was a fantastic experience I recommend highly

Ima say Shirasoni went from great down to slightly above average. Came here for mothers day and a few times before that this year and dont get me wrong service is excellent, the team is making accommodations as best they can indoor and outdoor dinning, and always very polite. The taste of food is great too. The portions are tiny and, I didnt believe it but, the prices are ridiculous (and its not just mothers day prices). Cherry Blossom on the far right in photo was butchered and the other half of it was garnish. The shrimp inside made up for it. The Explosion barely had tobiko on top. And looking at the menu again (i think its called) the kappa roll which is only wrapped cucumber for just shy of $10. Ten dollars for six pieces of cucumber is just a no go. Again the staff and service is great which is just restaurant 101. Environment is good although very loud, and they still do seasonal giveaways. Portions and prices is all they need to fix.

We had dinner at this restaurant for the first time and did not like it.My wife and I chose to eat sushi. What a mistake. I ordered Chirashi and was awful. The rice was not what you would expect from a reputable Japanese restaurant. The fish was not sushi grade and tasted old, dried, and plain tasteless.The restaurant atmosphere was chaotic and smelled like you were eating inside a BBQ grill. Very smoky, and my guess is they do not have a good cooking area exhaust system. Therefore, cooking smoke is everywhere.If you want to eat tasteless sushi and do not mind going home smelling like burned meat, then this restaurant is for you.I do not recommend it.

The husband and I went here on a Friday around 630p. The place was jumpin and it didnt take more than 5 minutes to be seated. We sat in the bar area and from there on out service was awesome. Steve was our server and between him and his service helpers, they did an excellent job. Our drinks, appetizers and main dishes were all served in a decent time apart. The portions were worth the price and we left with to go boxes. Service just went so smooth. The place was clean and enjoyable and we will for sure be back!

Shirasoni is a good-sized establishments that serves a variety sushi and cooked dishes with the option of going into the hibachi area. The service was on point and the ambiance was pretty nice inside. I liked the interior.For food, my relatives and I got a lot of the sushi options here, which included sashimi and a few rolls. I also got the Unagi (eel) rice bowl to try. The good was the sashimi! The fish tasted good and they are generous with the sizes of the sashimi as the pieces were larger than your typical slices. As for the sushi rolls, I got to have a few pieces of the Tokyo (unagi, cucumber, and avocado inside with tuna, tobiko, green onion and eel sauce on the outside) which tasted okay and nothing special, which I will soon realize what the limiting factor was in this roll. The unagi rice bowl was just very average. The unagi was acceptable but did not taste memorable. This made me realize that since the Tokyo roll also had unagi, I suppose that is why I thought that roll was just okay as well. The serving was good size, just not as delicious as I thought it was going to be.Maybe I went here on the wrong night, but I was just satisfied with the dishes that did not have unagi in it.

I wish I could give 5 stars to this place but they need to modify a few things...1 Atmosphere : nice and lively but if you look for a quiet sushi place this restaurant is not for you.2 You can chose between a seat on the grill and on the sushi side3 My Vegan sushi was ok. . I had the Veggie roll with mushrooms, avocado, wrapped in rice and soy wrap. CONS: the roll were smashing and falling in pieces because the rice was outside and the soy wrap was inside. I wish I could leave a good review because I love the sushi and food. However, despite their open hours they dont actually stay open. Ive come in 30 minutes before they close 2 times now and they have turned me away both times saying they are no longer serving. Im sorry but you are are either open or closed. Do not say you close at 9 when you are not serving at 8:30. You are either open or closed. Its simple. Very disappointing!

Good food and nice service. Our server Adriana was super nice and answered all my questions. My hubby had the Kobe lobster tempanyaki and it was delish! I had the Benz roll and we shared the Tempura combo appetizer. The food was served up fresh, so it came out at different times, which was fine. All the portions were very generous and we took home Plenty of leftovers. I also tried the White Peach Sake and it was super yummy without being too sweet. The place was a little loud, and the table area looked like it could use a little updating, but the food and the service will definitely bring us back.

I want to sincerely thank the staff (especially Jasmin) working the bar yesterday. My wife and I stopped in to order take out and while waiting for our food an accident occurred and the staff jumped into action and handled the situation immediately and very professional. We have enjoyed Shirasonis for many years but yesterday was different. We left feeling like we were not only appreciated as customers but also felt like the staff really cared about us as fellow human beings. Food is half of the equation when eating out and service is the other half in my opinion. The staff working the bar yesterday hit it out of the park. Thank You!!

Came here for Fathers day for the first time. Similar to Benihanas. The prices are about the same as Benihanas. The chefs who cook in front of you are very nice & entertaining, talented. The food of course Id very fresh & tender! We reserved our table, and we didnt have to wait long granted this place was packed for Fathers day. Good service very quick to the point.Parking is free & spacious here as well. They also had a Mothra 🦋 roll Im guessing because the new Godzilla movie just dropped🦖!

We dont really mind spending money for dinner but we expect quality experience at least if spend over $150. We were still halfway done with our food, the waitress already asked if we need a to go box. We told her we might need one or two later. Then she came back maybe 10-15mins later with the boxes and our check. We felt rushed and it seemed like we were in a fast food place, not in a restaurant. Not going back.

Sat quickly for table of five quickly at six on a Friday. Chardonnay took over twenty minutes to bring out. The chef mixed extra well done regular steak with what was supposed to be medium rare fillet and the result was bleh. The veggies were too soft and meat tough. Advice - I’d rather have regular portions with what I ordered than a bunch of extra food piled on my plate messily. Cheers!

Wow, my steak & shrimp were delicious!!! I realize that people come for the great show put on by the cooks, but hidden is there is the great food. We had steak, shrimp, chicken and the best part, the fried rice. We started with the combo appetizer which was plentiful. Been a while since I was here last, but we came to celebrate a birthday. The staff even sang happy birthday and brought a birthday dessert. Overall, all facets of the experience were great. And to top it off, the food was plentiful and we had amazing leftovers. Great experience for the family or with friends. Enjoy!

My wife and I where there for lunch. At the time we got there one patron was ahead of us. We placed our order of chicken wings and two sushi rolls. We waited 45 mins and no order, the server never bother to keep us informed of our order. Another couple came after us and they also ordered chicken wings, the server instead of bringing the order to us, had another server bring the order and gave it to the couple that order after us.This is the second time I have eaten at your restaurant and our food was given to some one else.As for me I will not eat at your restaurant again, you are either under staff or your staff dont care.

This is one of our go to restuarants when a family birthdays & the grand kids love the show. Our huge party of 20 was rushed to get up at the end of our meal. Waitress said there was another huge party waiting to be seated. It was my sons 15th birthday and his custom cake was literally 5 mins away. We didnt get to sing him Happy Birthday. I think spending over 1000$ we should have been able to get up when we were ready. Always popular, last Wednesday was no exception. We sat at the bar to avoid waiting for a table and that worked put well as it has in the past. The bartenders tend to be very experienced and good at their job which always helps.We started with the ahi poke salad which was totally different to that served to the person seated next to me. She had large pieces of tuna and ours were 1/2 I cubes at best. Still tasty but we have noticed inconsistencies in the past with sushi rolls in particular. It seems to depend who is on duty as chef.The tiger roll was exactly as expected and delicious. We went there yesterday, July 10, with a party of 15 to celebrate a birthday. As soon as they sat us down at the hibachi table, we saw a cockroach right there on the cooktop. At this point, I told her that I was coming in person to the restaurant to talk to a manager. I went to the restaurant and when placing my order, I spoke to Joel who was very nice by the way and another sweet lady. Little did I know, they reported the incident to Chantelle, the manager while I was waiting in my car for the food ordered. As I went back in to pick up my food, Chantelle nicely acknowledged me and sincerely apologized. She even offered me a gift card for the trouble and tonights experience. She was going to address it and made it clear. She handled it in such a gracious and professional manner, and by the book. What a great manager. She just saved the restaurant a loyal customer. If I could give this place negative stars I would. We tried this place when we first moved to Brentwood because friends told us it was good. It was not. Sushi was very poorly put together. Chicken teriyaki was bland and service was slow. Tried it again last week to see if maybe it was just a bad experience. Needless to say that this place still disappointed me and was very overpriced. Will never ever be going to this place again. If you like this food. You need to try some actual good Japanese food. The best in the bay area is Amakara in Dublin CA. I promise u.

Everything we ordered came out really fast, hot, fresh, well seasoned and delicious! I was expecting good steak, but their steak teriyaki with white rice and vegetables are amazing!

Not as fun as pre covid but the kids still enjoyed it... However 300$ for a family of 5 is a little steep but okay for once in a great while. Nice to have the whole family around the table for a change!

I was waiting more than half an hour the person handling the reservation saw a group of people (who were they friends) and let them in first .. I don’t think this is fair because they didn’t have a reservation and I was standing there waiting for my name to be called, she saw me and came later to say are you been help? Of course she knew I’ve been waiting I told her it’s not fair you let this group go first just because they are your friends. Really bad experience !! It wasn’t a busy day and we all deserve respect !

Not fantastic for sushi in my opinion. Have had better/thicker rolls from Kanpai sushi just across the street.Eating there at night would be fun, and the banquet tables would be neat for parties (if not a bit expensive) but during normal day hours the place is pretty dull. Without a coupon, the deals arent great, either.

My fiance and I went to dinner with his family for a going away celebration. Every thing was fine until the chef noticed that I was pregnant. He asked how far along I was and WHO THE FATHER WAS... I was kind of uncomfortable at that point, but I let it slide. Then he asked what we were having and I excited said a little girl. His demeanor changed, like oh, too bad its not a boy, and he turned to the 5 year old girl at our table with her mom and dad and said, no offense. I let that slide too.At the end of the meal as hes walking away he turns to my fiance and says youre the man! and my fiance returns the compliment because he was happy with show and the chef says lift up the right leg for a boy next time.I was so embarrassed. I turned bright red and everyone except for me, my fiance and the mom of the little girl were laughing. HOW INAPPROPRIATE A COMMENT! Then they have the audacity to add in a tip without my permission! I was pissed!We left so angry! Well never go back there again.I recommend Benihana! The food and sauces are so much better.

What a huge bummer. Keep in mind I’ve worked at multiple sushi restaurants. I was embarrassed For entire staff. Loose rolls, gelatinous sauce, slimy eel, overcooked scallop, forgotten drinks, forgotten appetizers, mistakes for main course, check mistakes, way to thin cuts of fish, flavorless fish, dirty bathrooms, hibachi cooking completely out of Rhythm with rest of table, rolls were mostly rice. Friendly staff though!! Also they counted my friends 1year old that didn’t eat anything from the table as the 5th person, and forced gratuity.

Female owner was so rude, my order was made wrong, got angry with me for their mistake. My chicken was pink a raw, if you want to be sick this is the place to go . Never be back again !! When I told her Id never be back she said thank you. Shes unprofessional and disrespectful of paying customers. I will let everyone know of this experience.

Awesome location and high-quality sushi! Ive been here several times and Ive never been disappointed by the staff or the food. Great attention by the staff, and the portions and quality of the sushi rivals anything Ive eaten at any of the best sushi restaurants around the country. VERY upset and disappointed in the food we ordered from Shirasoni yesterday evening.We placed a 4 entree dinner pick up:Karate ChopShirasoni ComboSuriyaki SteakChicken TeriyakiIt was clear from the moment we opened the containers the food was not cooked Teppanyaki style.All vegetables in the 4 dinners were over boiled mush -- nowhere near the normally crisp and tasty vegs weve always enjoyed at the grill tables.The Garlic fried rice we all usually love could not have been from a teppanyaki griddle. It was worse than Rice a Roni.The worst part was the meat/seafood!Again, having been a long time customer -- you can tell when steak/filet, chicken, shrimp, scallops, etc have been grilled on the teppanyaki girddle.The chicken in my wifes Karate Chop came slathered in Teriyaki that she didnt order and it was clear the chicken hadnt seen the griddle.The scallops were not the usual high quality scallops we normally get at Shirasoni, they were chewy, overly fishy and pretty unappetizing.My daughters Suriyaki Steak was swimming in Teriyaki and wasnt cooked on the griddle.The shrimp and filet werent as bad, but certainly not up to the normal Shirasoni standard.Spending $160 on take-out is very expensive. We have previously been willing to pay that high price to enjoy Shirasonis food.Weve ordered pickup from Shirasoni a few times during the Covid Pandemic, the food was excellent each of those times up until today.But after today, paying that high a price for really poor quality food? We wont be back...To reply: the Food Quality was so poor -- we.wont be back

We went for New Years and we made a reservation for 7 oclock. Upon walking up they had a sign up saying that they were not honoring the kids eat free because it was New Years even know it was a Tuesday. Then we checked in and waited 30 mins. beyond our reservation time. They still did not have a table ready and there were still people waiting ahead of us. We saw a table that was open in the sushi area that had been open since we had gotten there but they kept telling us they were not sure yet if we could sit there. We finally got seated and and looked at the menu and they had made a special menu that included the most expensive items from their original menu and raised the prices up. I was craving my Yakisoba noodle dish and come to find out was not available as an option the waitress told us that whatever is on the menu is what you get they are not doing anything special. We were there with my sister and her boyfriend and when we received our sushi rolls they had put ours and theirs on one big plate not knowing whos was whos. Our waitress did not refill our glasses we had to ask the bus boy whom told a different waiter. We finally got our bill and my sister had a $10 credit on her rewards card and the waitress told us that she could not use it because it was New Years eve. So she complained to the owner and he told her well you can use it next time, so she told him no because she will not be back again so he said that he would take care of her and he took $20 off of her bill and when she comes in next time he will take care of her. We will most likely not be going back here especially for New Years Eve.

This was our first time here. Im not a sushi person by any means however the sushi I opted to try was delicious (I believe it was the crunchy rolls). The place was packed with people waiting to experience the Teppanyaki Grill Tables (30-45 minute wait). We decided to sit by the Sushi Bar (no wait time). Service was excellent, quick and attentive despite how busy Shirasoni was. We had the crunchy rolls. My wife had the Sukiyaki Steak and I had the Yakisoba noodles and the dishes were huge. I Highly recommend. I would like to come here again despite living 30 minutes away.

Sushi Mondays are amazing!!!!! Half off sushi tastes that much better! Expect a wait as there are a lot of people clamoring for this special but definitely worth the wait! High quality ingredients and a wonderful atmosphere definitely makes it an awesome place.

The bathroom was a horrible mess. We were told we had a 20 min max wait, we waited 40 and when we were seated, didnt see our waitress for another 20 min. When we said something to another waitress, they went and found her.
