Shirasoni Japanese Restaurant in Alameda

It was definitely a big disappointment. On my first visit the chef was wonderful, he was very attentive to the chosen menu. But this time it was fatal. He never cared for the menu that I chose different from the others (rice). I think he focused on only 3 clients and prepared the rest of the food according to the instructions of those 3 clients, the rest of us adapted to the menu of the 3 clients. When it comes to vegetables, I cook few and he didnt have enough for my plate, he was embarrassed and he cooked more, but I would have preferred if he hadnt. because he put more vegetables on my plate but raw!!

First time there food was great. better than other places Ive been. Everything had its own flavor, and nothing tasted alike. The fish bowl we on point as well. Forgot to take a picture of my actual meal. But it was tasty.

I booked this experience for my daughter‘s birthday. I had nobodies that they would seat us together with 2 other parties. They were very nice, but I was hoping for a special, private experience, not a friends and family style one. There was no alternative.The whole food and show was ok, nothing special really. We were seated 4 in a row so could not really communicate which was lame.But worse of it is they overcharged my credit card with over $21 over the generous tip I had already given. Now I have to deal with a dispute and all. Wow. Never going there ever again and you should avoid it too.

Not much went into decorating this place, and the staff were dismissive. Food was average tasting but oversized.

We came in on a Monday and there werent too many people, so we were able to get seated where we wanted. The experience at dinner was fun and food came out quickly. It was going smoothly until we received the check.When we were being seated, the host let us know that Mondays are $7 margaritas, so we ordered Skinny Margaritas off the menu. We found out that we were charged for the full price of them and when we explained what the host told us, the server apologized and said that only the House Margarita is eligible, which isnt listed on the menu. We tried to explain that we only ordered drinks for our group because of the deal, but the server did not do anything to help the situation. Instead of offering solutions, she apologized and walked away from us.They charge 20% gratuity on all parties (regardless of size) so there wasnt much more they would do to help with the situation. We were considering coming back for the other week day deals they have listed, but are now thinking twice. If you do come here, make sure you confirm what you are getting before ordering.

Experience was nice and surely above 👆🏼 average compared to other Japanese restaurants. Keep your eyes 👀 on the amount of Sauces they dump on the food 🍱 because it can be overwhelming if your not a salt/sodium fan like me. Cool 😎 vibes and enjoyable time but it’s like you need to remind them about things over and over again. Ordered sake 🍶 and it came halfway through the entire meal 🥘??? Nonetheless, the atmosphere was ok 👍 and the ambiance wad nice too😊 Outside has ample parking and is even pleasurable to walk around to enjoy the the outdoor scenery.

When I went to this place over the weekend late evening they placed my party with a young couple that been sitting for a while to be served . My party could tell they wanted to be alone so since there were more of my party we asked could we just have a table. They said we had to pay for any empty seats if they sat us at another table. We ordered but the young couple had to wait until we had our appetizers..then her comes a white couple, walked in and got a table to themselves, the chef went straight to their table, cooked, they ate and were out. In the mean time we were still waiting, no cheft because we were told we had to wait until the table was full, which at this point it was full. The young couple just waited because they were celebrating a birthday. I felt sorry for them.. and yes our table was all black people. Over 30 minutes went by before the cheft finally came to our table. Then our chicken wings, which were appetizers, were not thoroughly cooked. I dont know what was going on with the restaurant that evening, but the service sucked!

We celebrated a birthday party at Shirasoni. Our waiter Bobby provided excellent professional service. Our chef also made our dining experience with his preparation and cooking our special meals pleasurable as well.

Love this place. My kids even more than I. I’m pretty satisfied whenever I get food and a show lol call me old fashioned I guess. But he staff is great ambiance really sets the mood. And the food is awesome. As well as the last few chefs we’ve had. Pretty good show man and love how well they interact with the groups.

Recommended by a friend. We were not disappointed. Our chief was totally funny and kept us engaged the whole time. The food was good and comparable to Benihanas. Made a two hour trip in Traffic from Ceres California. Well definitely eat there again.
