Sho Gun Japanese Restaurant in Huntington Beach

While visiting my family here, we have had the other two sushi places before and finally tried this one and man, it was SO GOOD! The sushi was so fresh and tasty. The service was great, it felt we were very welcomed and the server was so helpful with the choices. Good music and the chef was dancing while rolling sushi and it was just a fun experience. There were some regulars, thats how I know the place is amazing and gives you that family vibe. Also, it was getting packed. We are absolutely coming back here!!

Saturday dinner Labor Day weekend at my friendly neighborhood Sushi Joint Shogun Japanese RestaurantSuper HB roll, salmon nigiri, yellow tail nigiri, and an AsahiJohn always makes great sushi! And Kim is always talking me into ordering more rolls than I can eat. 😋

The server/ owner lady is a whole other level of rude and bizarre. First and last time my family and I will go. Unless you want to be yelled at, made feel ashamed for not ordering enough, your kid to be afraid and your plates moved around mid bite by the control freak maniac waitress avoid this place like the plague. I feel bad for the cook in the back having to put up with a drunk boss, so unprofessional.

Hidden Gem in HB - Delicious sushi at this small cozy spot in a strip mallThis is a small family run operation, the sushi chef is a nice older gentleman who magically produces delicious sushi. We found this place by accident and are so glad we did, it’s easily the beat sushi spot in the neighborhood.They have a salmon over Cali roll that heavenly!This is our new go to spot.Must try:1) Jeff roll (yellowtail over spicy tuna with a slice of garlic)2) zero cut roll (assorted sushi over spicy tuna wrapped in Cali no-rice)

I had tuna and crunch shrimp roll. It was really delicious roll that I ever had. I didnt get tuna smell. The roll was really big but soft enough to chew. It was freshly cooked. I was really satisfied with the food and the service!

Worst experience ever. Walked out. Yelled at my friend for ordering a salad before sushi because he can’t make money. Sushi looked sloppy and they were rude as hell. Wouldn’t even do a togo order. 빌어 먹을 개새끼

Small location with wonderful staff and service. We were seated right away and despite it being a bit busy, we had a great experience. I would definitely come back here again!

This shot spot is small & intimate but also full of life & energy. The chef makes delicious rolls while jamming out to fun tunes of his choosing. The Trust Me & Jeff rolls were my favorite. I will definitely be a new regular here!

All the other one star reviews are accurate to my experience as well. We had ordered to go a few times during the pandemic. Food was ok. However, last time we went into order because we could not get through on the phone. The extremely rude lady there literally shooed my husband out saying, “no to go orders, you leave now!” With hand gestures and all! We had also previously eaten in the restaurant and had horrible service, same as others have posted.

I went for a chicken teriyaki and steak teriyaki plate and I was highly disappointed. Definitely tasted like it was warmed up from the prior day.
