Shogun Restaurant in Palm Desert

This day was special me and wife decided to treat 5 other golf buddies and wifeAll of us arrived at the shogun after golfWe were very hungry and thirsty for good drinks. While we were eating for the table friend of mine went over to the bar and asked bartender for sake menu and picked out good sake with special price and boarders told him $29 per bottle and he asked bartender to chilled the couple of bottlesWe all sat down Start ordering food andI’d have asked for the price of Sake and told it was $69 per bottle by that time we started and finished 1/2 of the bottle asked for the manager came over and told us that we have missed understood oh really !Then here is what happen to our foodShould be able to hire someone who could do the job or better train the cookBeen to many teppan restaurantsThis is worst experience steaks and shrimps are over cooked (chart)

Wednesday at shogun in Palm Desert. Loud and busy.Here to celebrate my friends birthday (70), who is visiting from Sweden. Last dinner before she went back home.I think it was an evening when they were short of chefs. 1 1/2 hour before we had a chef at the table. Even the tables around us who was seated after us had a chef before us.Our waiter, Monique, was great and took the entrees off the whole table. Very nice gesture.Entrees were really good, and we had vegan tempura, sushi 9 pieces, and a sushi roll on fried rice. Really good flavors and great presentation.Meat was great and tender. Can actually say its was one of the best pieces of meat I ever had, and trust me, I tried everything from 1-5 stars restaurants. Cooked to perfection.Except from the delay it was a nice dinner.Only minus is that the ceiling vents really needs a deep clean.

THE CHICKEN SALAD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS I ALSO LOVED THE SUSHI ROLLS SO FULL OF FLAVOR N VERY FILLING. THE CHICKEN ON MY SALAD WAS SUPER JUICY I ENJOYED EVERY BITE. SHOUT OUT TO MARVIN OUR CHEF THE FILET MIGNON WAS DELECTABLE IT MELTED IN MY MOUTH SO GOOD I TRULY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PLACE WAS VERY NICE THE STAFF WAS SO FRIENDLY HELPFUL N VERY PROFESSIONAL AS WELL. STAY BLESSED GUYS N GALS YALL R THE BEST. 👌👌💯💯👍👍

Wow, just one of the best teppin table restaurants I have ever been to. We had a party of 40 and they accommodated us all. Service was on point and the food was incredible.

Our server was excellent he was bartender and our server. He answered all our questions and gave us the best recommendations. The food was fresh and delicious. We will be back.

Great place to go if you feel like waiting 45 minutes for a single drink and appetizers. Your cup will sit empty for a solid 20 minutes before anyone even attempts to notice you exist. Then, when they try to rectify the situation by giving you a gift card, the next time you come back, they tell you the gift cards aren’t accepted anymore. Nice little tactic there.I was really struggling to figure out what’s going on since this used to be a great place to enjoy a nice meal and drinks, and then I spoke to the GM, Armando, and it all makes sense. Guy couldn’t even look me in my eye and give me a real reason why there’s always a problem whenever I dine here lately.Service is terrible. It takes forever to get any items. You’ll wait for ages with an empty cup and empty table. Don’t think takeout is any better either, they’ll for sure forget an item and when you ring them up, the GM will tell you “I was hoping you’d call” … why didn’t YOU call? You have my number. Why doesn’t someone CHECK to make sure all items are present before someone takes the order? I’d say the place is a zoo but that would be a disgrace to zoos across the world.

The food was pretty good despite the restaurant being very busy. The chef was charismatic and kept my party entertained through our stay. I believe the manager onsite was named Daniel and he was very helpful and checked in with us several times. Typically when my party has been to this restaurant there is no manager present and it sort of takes from the experience. Daniel, our server, and our chef were fantastic! Highly recommend checking this place out.

Your reservation time doesn’t mean a whole lot around here. We were sat almost 45min after our reservation time, which we got to 10min early in an attempt to be considerate of everyone’s time, don’t bother doing that. When we were finally sat it was at a dirty table. It was greasy and still had old rice on it. The grill also had old burnt food on it. There were multiple drink rings on my sticky table from the previous patron and the room was full of smoke so if you have asthma maybe bring an inhaler. The restaurant was incredibly loud. Between the multiple hoods, people talking, all the clanking and the random rave music coming from either the speakers overhead or just one table we couldn’t tell, the only conversation you’ll be having is a yelling one. Our waitress man handled our drinks and made sure to touch the entire surface area of my glass rim so that I could taste her fingers with every sip but she did come back multiple times to check on us. The chef finally arrived one hour after we sat. He was friendly and fun. The food he cooked was delicious and the portion sizes are huge. The menu price was fair for the quality of the food but not worth dealing with everything else. I can’t say that I would come back.

We had dinner here on Thanksgiving eve and I have to say I have mixed feelings about the restaurant.We ordered sushi and it was really good, same with the appetizers (calamari and pork gyoza).They forgot to bring one of the appetizers, which we had to request at the end of the dinner.The waitress wasn’t nice at all. The place was loud and it was obvious she was annoyed when having to repeat something or answer questions.Not a bad place, but they could work to offer a better experience to customers.

We phoned & made a reservation for 19.30. We need not have done so as I would describe the restaurant as about 30 - 40% occupancy.We were seated at a Teppan hot plate straight away - just the 2 of us.Drinks were taken fairly promptly and arrived ok.We ordered our meals. My wife had Filet Steak & Lemon Chicken. I had the Shogun Special with Scallops & Ribeye steak.The food arrived quickly and was cooked infront of us, to our liking.There was no show of any kind from the chef. He just cooked the food and served it up.My wife finished her food first and I was about two thirds through mine when the server asked us if we were going to have desserts. We both declined and the check was presented to us immediately. I was still eating at this time.Moments later, another server arrived at our table and started clearing my wifes plates, bowls & silverware away. Again I was still eating.She then started to clear away the drinking glasses infront of us and at this point I pushed my plate away from me and stopped eating.I found this whole episode of giving us the check and starting to clear away, rude.There was no one waiting to be seated. There were plenty of empty tables. I cant really why they behaved as they did. The total bill for the 2 of us was $117.
