This is an excellent place where you can enjoy the cooking process right in front of you, but there is also a separate area where its quieter, and you can simply order food from the menu. In the cooking show section, there is usually a queue, but there are seats available in this area.I really enjoyed the rice combo. The portion was gigantic, and the shrimp, chicken, and steak paired together perfectly! It was especially delightful that you didnt have to peel the shrimp by hand in this dish.I was also pleased with the complimentary iced tea refills.

OK, its $$, but its worth it. My meal with lobster 🦞 tail was $50 (no shrimp, I ate my husband because he cant eat them).They do like to put a show for the kids. Although its loud and you can barely hear the person next to you but I am OK with that.*******my husband cant eat mushrooms or shrimp, they were very cautious and considerate in regards to it. The chef tripled checked with us to make sure, and I am glad he did just show they take the proper precautions for food safty (he did use a different spatula when cooking chicken)******

Ive been here a few times over the years, its always a show when they cook for you and the staff has always been so very friendly. Today I talk about about the sushi bar off to the side. The sushi chefs are very friendly and helpful, the seating has always been open and easily available. I feel like people forget they have a wonderful sushi bar right around the corner!Truly if you want variety and my favorite sushi deal ever is the 3 half rolls for (sadly its not 19.99 anymore) 25 bucks. Unlimited sushi is a waste on me cause Im done after a roll and a half so this allows for me to try something new or just different flavors.In the following 2 pictures there is the double shrimp roll, seared salmon, Shogun, go go roll, bsc roll and kamikaze.You cant go wrong here

Beautiful remodel, staff was kind and attentive. Our chef was amazing. The bar is set up perfectly. The 4 stars for service is based on 2 incorrect drinks from the bar, 2 different times (very basic/easy cocktails, these should have been correct).

We joined a friend here. Haven’t been for years and when we have gone in the past it was always at the teppan bar for the show. This time we ate in the regular restaurant area.Our server was very nice and helpful. It was amazingly busy for a Tuesday evening so she was hustling. We ordered our first drink while looking at the menu and that drink came fast. Then we ordered. When we ordered, we asked for a repeat drink order. Our soup and salad came out in about 5 minutes as expected. We are just starting to eat our soup and 2 minutes later our appetizers arrive. We try to situate each of our soups, salads and now appetizers on the table and we are only one sip into our soup and here comes the sushi rolls and entrees. Wow, great the kitchen is fast but usually you pace bringing out each step of the eating process. We asked about our drinks and were told the bar is a bit behind.Overall. The environment is nice but crowded. The teppan is always entertaining but the regular restaurant is kind of drab and not very exciting. Felt like it’s just stuck in a corner. Wish they would coordinate food delivery to be a little smoother. Tho the rolls presented very well, I wish there was a little more flavor. We will give it a try again in the future.

Great place to come for sushi if you arent on a budget. Prices for dishes outside Happy Hour can be a tad pricey but it is very good food. Also a very popular place so if you come during peak hours be prepared to wait to get in and for waiters to stop by your table. The servers do their best despite having to wait on large numbers of guests so thats hardly their fault. Wonderful experience if you come when its less busy. My go to is a custom roll called the Salmon Skin Delight Baja Style (not on the menu) and the shrimp fried rice. The Mexican roll is pretty good if you like spicy and avocado. Tried the hibachi grill this time around. Quite busy here. If youre not up for a busy and a bit louder than usual noise level in a restaurant, then I suggest you opt for the table seating on the other side of the place instead. The service was great. The waitress was quick and prompt. WAIT for the hibachi chef was a bit long but it was a busy. Food was great tasting and cooked the way you ask for. Overall, this was a good experience minus the wait time.

I took my son and granddaughter there to have an impromptu special teppanyaki dining experience. The cook and server we had definitely made it such! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Our cook was funny and entertaining, our food was delicious!! We watched the cook at the table beside us while we were eating, he wasnt doing any tricks, just cooking. So glad we had the cook we did!!! Everything about our trip to Shogun was exceptional!!!

Someone to cook for me, serve me, and entertain me... sure, why not?We came as guests with a party of 40+ after a funeral some months back and, despite the event, we all enjoyed each other’s company during this time of mourning. Although I’ve been to many teppanyaki places and have seen the routine before, the chef made us laugh with his tricks. As I looked around the room, it was the same for the other tables in our party and I was glad to see family and friends of family enjoying themselves over this communal-style dining.Before our reservation, we went to the bar to get appetizers and drinks. We ordered Calamari Rings, a Mango Mojito, and a Strawberry Lemonade. The Calamari Rings came out piping hot and was super crunchy. I enjoyed dipping it into the Sweet and Sour Sauce.When we were escorted to the teppan area, we all sat around the grill. The server took our drink orders, as well as our main entree orders. After a few tricks here and there, our entrees were served. I was surprised to see that they served a larger portion than Benihana and Ooka.Food:Because everything is cooked on the grill, I would advise calling the restaurant if they can accommodate for those with special dietary needs or those who have certain food allergies (e.g., eggs, seafood, soy, etc.). For those without allergies, you can enjoy your teppan entree with either an onion or miso soup or Japanese salad with Ginger Dressing, fried (or steamed) rice, and Hibachi Mixed Vegetables. I ordered the Rib Eye Steak with Shrimp. It was great with one of the two dipping sauces they provide.Location / Parking:This Shogun Restaurant is located near the Temecula Promenade. It is quite busy but there is plenty of parking.Ambience:Dimly lit, communal-style (U-shaped) seating around a chef cooking on a teppan grill. It’s fun and entertaining, and the kids and adults enjoyed it. Who doesn’t love the classic fried rice heart or an onion volcano? Or the flaming grill? Moderate to loud noise levels, depending on whether you’re seated next to the chef’s portable speaker. One of the chefs had a mini disco ball with laser lights flashing about, which the kids enjoyed. If you’re aurally sensitive to knife-on-metal grill sounds, it might not be the place for you.Service:The service here was great! Everyone was respectful, they had smiles on their faces, and our orders were brought in a timely manner from both the bar and teppan areas.If you’re on a time crunch, I would skip the teppanyaki and go for something on their regular menu. I would skip the teppan if you have rowdy kids because their grills can reach up to 500°F! They do have kids (Komodo) meals available.Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience with the party I was with. Over all the food and the service was great good ambience they had the right sports games playing at the right time not too crowded air conditioning working good however they changed the way they prepare the vegetables on the grill and dont taste the same as they used to or at least we didnt like them or enjoy them if it wasnt for that we would have given them 5 stars. The appetizers and the deserts and the happy hour appetizer specials were also very good.

Its a sauna, the air conditioner was off until about 15min before we left. It took them 1 hour and 40min to start cooking because the waitress left our ticket with the order on the table. We were not even given an opportunity to order desert. Management apologized for the wait but made no effort to make things right. Its loud and packed with people.The chef was nice, the food was good. But we wont return and risk being hostages for another 2 and a half hours.

It has been at least 3-4 years since I was here last due to the dining ares being dirty and not cleaned well. I went back the other day and sat at the grill. Not until after to cook had left and taken his food cart did I see how disgusting and dirty the place was. Food was over cooked, alcohol drinks were terrible, (I returned it) after 1 sip. Very disappointing. I thought maybe with the new Benihana opening in less than a week Sgogun would have stepped up their drinks, food and cleanliness.I will NOT go back nor will I miss this place. Also the food was so bad I had to run to a toilet 3 times in less than an hour.

Don’t bring your twinsWe spent $300 on dinner for my twins’ bdayThe boys were not sitting next to each other. They gave each of the boys a hat and then placed a dessert in front of *1*of my twins and said nothing else.The other boy switched seats to eat off his brother’s plate. When I asked where the other boy’s birthday plate was the waitress asserted when there is more than 1 bday in a party they put an extra scoop of ice cream on a plate. They won’t give 2 platesWhat??Wouldn’t hear me out the they were *2* children. I was just short of asserting she was discriminating against twins.This was the icing on the cake as there were so many mishaps. They hadnt put on the fan on and the smoke was blowing in peoples eyes, the fried rice was burned, they served us salad and didn’t give us silverware until an ungodly time later because there was nobody available to ask, and we also had to ask for the sauces after we’d eaten most of our meal (never offered).Waste of money.

Front of the house has been recently renovated. They have signs up that the sushi bar will be renovated soon, thats closed for now. I go to shogun somewhat regularly. I love the food, it always hits the spot. The only problem I had during our last trip was that it was really hot in there. It became uncomfortable towards the end.

This is a great location for entertaining dining. The open grill spaces are the highlight of the experience and Id go as far as to say that it isnt worth visiting unless you can get seats at the grills. Unfortunately, all that was available for my visit were the regular booths.I enjoyed the spicy chicken and found both the meat and grilled vegetables to be delicious. Our waitress was extraordinarily friendly but did a bad job of taking our orders, as she forgot all our drink orders and halfway through our meal we had to remind her. She also had to come back and confirm a food order. It just wasnt a smooth experience

If you are looking for a place to take a bunch of people, then this is the place. However, if you are looking for an authentic gwant Japanese restaurant to spend a romantic evening with your girl, then this isnt it. Its noisy, really, really casual attire, and you will most likely be seated with people you dont want to be seated with. I was expecting Japanese music with some type of Japanese atmosphere. Instead, I got an upgraded version of Applebees. I ate here a long time ago in a different location, and it didnt look like this one. We actually got up and left right after we were seated. Im sure the food, service and cooking show is good. But, we just wanted a quiet place with some culture. This wasnt it.

The portions of the lunch entrees were small compared to the other meals (like the udon pictured here). Also, the yakisoba was rather salty. Despite all this, the udon I ordered was pretty good, as were the drinks.

Had my daughters 16th birthday here (her choice). As a first timer, it was a neat experience having our food prepared right in front of our party. James was personable and talkative with a good personality. Had steak,chicken sushi and various other dishes as well as other sides. Really had an enjoyable experience. Our group was 14 deep so be prepared to drop a few $ (7+), but for an entertaining evening, terrific food and a memory thatll be remembered...it was worth it! Will definitely come back in the future.

My steak, chicken, & veggies were steaming hot & cooked very well (no rubbery chicken or under/overdone steak here) The hand roll was excellent. Not soggy or sloppy...I was so excited when it got to the table, that I ate it and forgot to take a picture🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️. I was happy to see that the pricing on lunch was essentially half price of the dinner menu, but with sizable portions. The menu is gigantic with lots of options to pair foods and rolls...but its not overwhelming. The venue is clean, & and the whole place has great ambiance. There are multiple seating options including: family style (w/the chef cooking for you), seats at the sushi bar, & standard booth/table options. I truly adore this venue & have added it to my personal foodie list. Go! You wont be disappointed.

The dip for lack of a better term that came with was like wasabi (not calling it dressing because I dont think youd want to pour it on), so I dabbled a little bit on my tuna. Omg this place is amazing!!!! We really had mister personality as our chef! The food was wonderful, the show was fantastic, and the chef was super courteous of dietary restrictions and allergies. Definitely make a reservation or youll be waiting a bit, but thats the nature of any restaurant right now. We had a reservation so we walked right on in! We also purchased commemorative mugs with our drinks and they were adorable!!! Definitely pricey once you have a few drinks but absolutely 100% worth it. Itll be a birthday tradition now!

The restaurant was beautiful, and the food was so good. The service they provided was fast and fun. They sang a cute birthday song to several people during my visit. My young son was a little scared about the fire, so the chef didnt do anything crazy with it to keep him comfortable, which I appreciated. I have a mushroom allergy, and they went above and beyond to make sure nothing was cross-contaminated. I will be going back in the future.

I was very disappointed to learn this evening that this restaurant jacks up the prices for holidays, like Valentine’s Day. So the fried rice that is normally complimentary with your meal has a charge on Valentine’s Day. Apparently they jack up the prices for the weekend too, according to the manager I spoke to this evening. They actually use a different menu depending on the day. The food is the same…but the prices are different. That’s a great way to take advantage of your clientele! We paid $145 for 3 people, including tip. Not so long ago, we were paying under $100 for the same meal.Even though my family has come here for years to celebrate special occasions, it’s time to find a new place that respects its customers by not being openly greedy. There have been other issues throughout the years at this establishment, such as keeping our table waiting for over an hour after we’ve already been seated before the chef shows up…and no explanation or apology from anyone unless you inquire about the long wait. Anyway, even my easy going husband is put off by this sleezy practice. I can’t imagine going to any of my usual restaurants and them charging me different prices for the same food just because it’s Valentine’s Day!

The Shogun is great entertainment with decent food. The show provided by the cooks around the grill is always enjoyable and the chef usually has great personality. The noise level, particularly if youre near a chef with a Bluetooth speaker, can be a bit overwhelming. The food was plentiful and the price for four adults, two of whom had beers, was about $45 per person. Overall, a nice night out with a good show and good food.

There appears to be something wrong with the ventilation system because the temperatures thought the restaurant were really inconsistent and cooking smells are not being dissipated at all, leaving the front area by the host stand smelling almost like a bathroom and the dining area smelling very stale. The water features werent running and had some sort of a film on top. There is carpet throughout the dining room and it is old, tattered, and coming up, there were pictures missing off the walls, and chipped paint. I really hope they give this location a revamp because it could be so awesome!

Did not accept reservations. They took my name and phone number but then never called when the table was available. I ordered 2 sets of sushi and ramen. Sushi tasted good, but they were falling apart the next moment I picked them up. I could not even dip them. The waiter took my soy sauce after she brought food and didnt come back for 10 minutes. Terrible experience: first and last time we will be giving our money to Shogun. We literally walked out of the restaurant smelling like grease; there was SO much smoke blowing directly in our faces through the entire meal, so heavily that our eyes were burning/watering and we had to stand up and out of the way just to breathe. I had my sunglasses and phone sitting on the counter (not even near the grill) and I kid you not, both were covered in grease when we left the restaurant. Amateur cooks with grills WAY too hot just for the smoke show is not the way you impress people - it should be about well executed food. Needless to say, our meals were completely underwhelming. The dining room was incredibly overcrowded; I’ve never seen a hibachi restaurant with so many people seated right on top of each other. Poor food, poor service, poor quality in everything. It was cheese to the max. I don’t understand why people come here dressed up to celebrate anything… it’s comical. If you have class, don’t come here. Your money is better spent literally anywhere else.

I would understand if the item was described as such on the menu, but I found this place by looking up best steak near me and the pictures i saw were of whole steaks. They made up for this by making me a custom salad that was a home run.I should have been told this when I requested my steak to be served medium rare and the waitress paused for a moment but apparently decided against notifying me that its a chopped steak. That oversight aside, the steak was tasty but that had more to do with the sauce used. I was turned off by several pieces of pure fat that i had to spit out. If youre going to chop up a rib eye before you cook it, then once youre done, discard the fat. If you chop it up after its done, then trim the fat and discard.The steamed rice was dry but I figured that was due to me not mixing the sauteed veggies into my rice because I didnt care much for the Zucchini in the mix. Nonetheless, steamed rice is only dry when it is not fresh (i.e. refrigerated and reheated) 2 out of 5 stars.Atmosphere: No complaints, good vibes.

They have done some remodeling and it looks more open, and can seat a lot of waiting customers. We always get seating right away because we prefer the diningroom. Our server was very nice, and the Sushi Chef never disappoints. You can barely get the sushi in your mouth it is so big. Here is my experience with this restaurant. We had a large party to celebrate my sisters in laws birthday. The front desk hostess told us it was ready and started walking us in then turn back and left us, we arrived at a table and the supervisor or manager rudely said out loud we couldn’t just walk ourselves inside. We explained that she initially said it was ready then walked back. Again super rude! We had two kiddos with high chair. They sit them in a corner not even gave them a plate or anything. I have been a loyal customer for years and because of the manager Roy, I will never come here again. Overall the restaurant has become our favorite by its taste, courtesy, and cozy atmosphere, whether grill or dinning area. We always been satisfied and grateful with every visit. Parking may be a hassle but that should be the only compliant. Great for all occasion and reasonably priced.

We sat at a grill. The food was really good and our server was very friendly. However our cook was very dull. He wasnt very friendly and even our kids said he wasnt fun to watch. Other than that our dinner was enjoyable. We will be back.

This restaurant is mostly just for show, the food itself isnt anything special. I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance and still had to wait a while before being seated, granted I did arrive a few minutes late due to traffic around the area. When my family actually got seated, we were told we had to share with another family which got both families uncomfortably close to each other. To make matters worse, the father of the other family started yelling at his kids and being rude to us. When I asked for my own table, I was told that it couldnt happen even though half the tables were empty. Luckily the other family wanted the same thing and we got the table to ourselves.Bottom line: this is a decent place to watch a show, but not much else. Bring a group of about 8 people if you dont want to share a table with strangers. Lastly, be prepared for noise too loud to have an enjoyable conversation.

Went here last night, and it was busy. We did the dining where it was just the two of us. We sat at a booth and the entire time swatting nats away.. our food came and I ordered teriyaki chicken and shrimp but no teriyaki was on my chicken I had to ask for a side dish of it. My chicken was over cooked and dried out. My husbands steak was the same. Sushi was good, pot stickers tasted like they were frozen and heated in the microwave.. the bar service was great it’s a small bar area but the girls there were on top of things. Overall wasn’t worth the money or the time

Our amazing chef made my first time a real experience, as well as everyone else saying that it was their best experience yet. So enjoyable, during parts where I was recording with my phone, I had a hard time watching my recording because he was so entertaining.The restaurant did so well catering to all the guests during Christmas, they kept everyones drinks filled, we were asked if we needed anything multiple times, which was needed cause we are needy as heck, and really just provided a 5 star service, 5 star meal which left me blown away as a first time customer, and a 5 star atmosphere. The only thing I regret is not getting the chefs name for future visits.

Prices and quality way over rated. Spent almost 160.00 for 4 people. The dinner show was a joke. The chef only did the rice heart and onion volcano. There were no tricks with any of the meats or vegetables. Part of the price is for the dinner show. The food taste is average at best, If not for the two dipping sauces to hide this fact. Be careful of the up charge also. Fried rice is a 2 dollar up charge but only stated in the menu. When the waitress ask if you would like white or fried rice she will not inform you it will be an extra 2 dollar up charge. Will be the last time I come to this restaurant. There are way more choices out there with much better food quality for much lower prices than here.

We frequent this location and everytime you call they always tell you they dont accept reservations so we expect a wait which is normal. Called earlier in the week and they said the same as usual NO RESERVATIONS so we walked in expected a regular wait 30 minutes to an hour like usual only to find out all of a sudden they ONLY TAKE RESERVATIONS? So you cant make a reservation and then they ONLY take reservations? They wouldnt seat us. Terrible. Was one of our favorite restaurants.

We are huge Shogun fans and have been coming to this one for years. However, we just went for lunch and had a pretty bad experience. The food was excellent but the atmosphere was terrible. The chef now plays very LOUD music while they cook at your table. We asked ours not too but all the other chefs did. You get a few chefs working, all playing loud music, and you cannot even hear yourself think, much less have a conversation. Its not just one song-- its techno song after techno song for the entire time they are at your table. (This was the lunch hour too-- not late on a Friday night.) Extremely disappointing. Probably will not come back despite the good food.

I love Shogun! The food is amazing the prices are reasonable and usually I have a pretty excellent time here. Today however the server was terrible, the service was miserable. We got the main course before the appetizers and the appetizers came about 45 minutes after we finished our meal. It took us almost 2 hours to complete our visit here. Sadly I was not impressed.

I gave this low score to hopefully get the managements attention. The food and service was just fine. My issue is with the poor choice of music. I took guests there to enjoy a good meal and be able to converse with them I felt more like I had gone to a concert. No restaurant should ever have music with lyrics blasting from speakers that are right over the patrons heads, competing with guest conversations. Light background music for ambience is fine. I would come to eat there again but I would stop by to hear if the concert has ended first before I spend any money.

Had a wonderful time with my daughter and her family, I only wished that we choose a better place to eat! Our reservation was for 4:00. We had to wait till 5:30 for our chef to show up. His humor was dry and his handling of the utensils was not impressive. His heart seemed to OPP be in it, I guess. His voice was also hard to discern.What we didnt like was that they were tight with their vegetables. There were nine of us. He didnt even have a whole onion. There was maybe a little over a half an onion cut into about five slices. One zucchini thinly sliced and a few other vegetables all to go around nine people. Nine people at a cost of over $350. Seems a little high for such small portions. I ate again when I got home.Oh, the thing that really was odd to me is that it is a somewhat large place with large crowds and they only had one restroom with one stall. It was occupied so I asked someone working there for another restroom and he told me that was the only one. No wonder such small portions.

Very fun atmosphere and good food. There is a long wait on the weekends if you opt to sit at the grill but I would recommend it if you have never been to a Teppanyaki Grill before.
