ShoMi Japanese Cuisine in Stockton

The place is clean and you have to pay first. The spicy miso is quite good but need a little bit of salt. The service is pretty quick.

When you walk in theres a line to the counter. You place your order and pay before you sit down to eat, its a little unorthodox but it works. My wife and I orderer the 50/50 roll and the i-scream roll, both were amazing!! Sushi is one of those things where its either great or its not, happy to say we lucked out finding this place since were not from Stockton. Would not pass up ShoMi if youre in the area.

Fried calamari ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: pretty good fried calamari. Could be a touch more crispy in my opinion.Shrimp curry ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: my go to order at this place. Curry is a great consistency and shrimp is nicely fried and crispy and pairs well with the curry.Side note: we did have an issue with our order and the staff were quick to respond and remedied our issue promptly so customer service is definitely good here!

I have to say I was very disappointed with the the customer service, no one was friendly, no one smiled, and YES even though they are masked, you can still tell when someone is smiling or even enthusiastic to help, this is SOOO NOT the case here... when I asked my waitress what she recommended, she knew nothing about the menu...We ordered calamari for our appetizer instead we got what tasted like fish sticks with tarter sauce. NOT GOOD AT ALL!!I will say that the 3 rolls we ordered were very good. Not to eager about going back soon. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OWNER PHIL JUST LAUGHS AT PEOPLES REVIEWS...

My recent visit to ShoMi can only be described as a culinary disaster. Ive had sushi from various places, but this one takes the cake for being the worst.Lets start with the sushi itself. Im pretty sure Ive had better gas station sushi. The fish was bland, rubbery, and tasted like it had been sitting around for ages. I wouldnt feed this to my worst enemy.The service was an absolute joke. It was as if the staff had never worked in a restaurant before. They were disorganized, inattentive, and clearly didnt care about providing even a remotely pleasant dining experience. I could have sworn they were doing us a favor by serving us.Now, onto the ambiance – or lack thereof. The place was a dump. Dimly lit and dingy, it felt like I was dining in a forgotten corner of a dive bar. The rickety chairs and wobbly tables only added to the overall sense of discomfort.And dont even get me started on the prices. Ive had Michelin-starred sushi that cost less than the exorbitant bill I received at ShoMi. I cant believe they have the audacity to charge so much for such a dismal dining ordeal.In all my years of dining out, Ive never encountered a place as terrible as this. ShoMi should be ashamed to call themselves a sushi restaurant. Save your money and your taste buds, and steer clear of this culinary catastrophe.

Amazing food and service provided. Sometimes get some awkward interactions with others. A nice place to go with friends for a simple hangout. I would not recommend this for heavy conversations or in depth discussions as it gets quite noisy at times. 9.5/10

It was my first time here and the sushi was delicious. The portion was good for the price.I wish the curry had some meat though. But overall I had a great experience dining in with my family.

I really love eating their sushi’s here! Not only that, they serve really presentable and delicious food. They give a pretty good amount of portions, and I get pretty full from the food. I was highly satisfied with my meal.

Love their ordering and service format. Order and pay at the counter, then they bring your food to your table. Everyone is super nice and courteous. FOOD IS DELISHH! If you love standard Japanese and sushi...add ShoMi to your new favorites 🇯🇵❤.
