We just stayed for one night while we were checking out Cal Poly. The customer service was great. The beds were comfortable. The view was amazing. I enjoyed hearing the waves crash while I was going to sleep. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at Shore Cliff! We had an ocean view room of the pier and were able to enjoy the sunrise from our balcony every morning. We will definitely be booking a trip back!

Used this on an overnight stop on our road trip. The room was clean and comfortable, staff helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was included for us and was excellent. The hotel has a pool and lovely gardens as well as spectacular views of the ocean. Very recommended.
The bed is comfortable and the rooms are nice. If you are a coffee drinker you might need to run to Starbucks. The coffee in the room is less than desirable. Their free Breakfast is pretty good. Waffles, eggs. Sausage, potatoes. One morning they even had tamales.They do need to do better knowing their regular guests. My sister goes there frequently and has brought them a lot of business. That kind of loyalty should be rewarded with perks and treated a little special. At least, Welcome Ms. Findora its so good to see you again. A little goes a long way.
This is an absolutely stunning location with breathtaking views. We had a room with a patio facing the ocean and it was the best sight to wake up to—and the peaceful sound of the waves made for a great sleep.
This is a great get away half way between me and my parents. The hotel is quiet and there are a lot of good options nearby for places to eat. The accommodations are nice and the rooms are modern and clean. Would recommend this for anyone who wants to give staying a weekend in Pismo Beach a try.
Pet friendly King bedroom with pier+ocean view has a beautiful view from the first floor. Easy access to the complimentary breakfast in the morning; 10 minutes drive from splash cafe and other popular restaurants. Will be returning!
Everything was clean & great. room service was fast & friendly, no complaints. just do be in a hurry if ur using the elavator is very small a d a bit on the slow side. Other than that it was a great stay, and of course the view is beautiful. 5 stars for us!

Came in for a very last minute decision to stay on a Sunday night in Pismo. The room was clean and the TV worked great. The view of the ocean was incredible and the hot tub and pool area were awesome

After seeing all of these Amazing reviews and seeing such Beautiful Pictures we are so excited for our upcoming Stay September 15-18th. The only regret I have is that we didnt see the ocean view king bed room as an option before we booked through Expedia. This is a much needed get away for my Fiance and I. It took a miracle to have a caretaker look after my elderly Mother so we could have this mini vacation. We havent been able to have one single date night since 2019. After losing my Son and Father within a month and moving Mom in due to declining health we are really in desperate need for this little getaway and cant wait! Really hoping our room will be just as Amazing as that Ocean Front view. Fingers crossed
Booked last minute for one night and was excited to have found this Gem! Perfect stop before heading to Santa Barbara but unfortunately we had bad weather to really enjoy the hiking around this area. Beautiful super clean room overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Room was perfect with 2 chairs and a small table outside on the balcony to enjoy the ocean views. Very clean room with beach decor theme. Room had a bonus refrigerator and microwave, if traveling with food, as most of us do these days. Nice size TV, including cable TV and seating area inside the room and we found the bed very comfortable for the price. They do include a complementary breakfast, heated swimming pool, hot tub overlooking the ocean and plenty of parking. Also a bonus room check out of noon, so you reallyGet toRelax and not be rushed out. Thats always a must on our list! Amazing outdoor seating areas all over with 100% ocean views from ever angel. The price was affordable, reasonable and I would definitely come back for a few nights next time! If you want to explore Pismo Beach for a few days this place would make for a great stop.

Amazing views right from our room. Slept with the door open to hear the ocean. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Very nice pool with views of the ocean. Plenty of seating to lounge in. Also they have fire pits and a bocce ball court. Cant wait to come back again for vacation!
For those who love wild life, this is the place for you. We saw sea otters ….. what more do you want ?? The rooms were comfortable, the pool had a great view and the wine the wine selection was excellent!

Big room, great view of the ocean. Bed was comfortable. There is a fire pit and bocce court just outside the balcony. The hotel is right on the bluff and got to watch a mama seagull care for her chicks .

FOR A HOTEL WITH A GREAT LOCATION THIS PLACE SUCKS!Way overpriced!!!!! Terrible front desk personnel, pool stinks, rooms and property is really old. Furnishings all stink and you can hear the people next to you doing everything. Elevator was broken all week. Do not pick this hotel for your vacation you will be very disappointed. Very loud pool area, people all playing their own music and the hotel staff does nothing about maintaining your privacy or seeing to your enjoyment, was like something you would experience in Mexico and staff so unprofessional. Sleep in your car before staying here....

Came here for 2nd time and both times we love it! Definitely will come back! Both room I stayed in have beautiful view of ocean. Pool wasnt very cold, just prefect temp and got to relax in spa. The breakfast have pretty good choices. This is an gem hotel!

This place sits by a cliff overlooking the Pacific ocean. Great views above the water overlooking Pismo Beach pier to the south. Conveniently located next to a restaurant. The rooms are well-maintained and kept clean. Basic breakfast so dont expect much. If there is anything that Id be critical of, its just an old property with great potential if only theyd remodel. Wed come back here, no problem.

This was absolutely the best hotel I have ever stayed at. We went for our anniversary and they had the room beautifully decorated for us. We had a Pier View room and it was spectacular.Free breakfast is included and it was actually very good. Each room has coffee and creamer as well.I definitely recommend this hotel to anybody staying in Pismo or nearby. Its affordable for the location and very nice and clean.

We stayed at Sore Cliff Hotel and walked to Pismo Beach pier. The Sunsets food truck got my attention. First, they are located right on top of the pier. The views are amazing! Secondly, their menu is short but offered some really good food choices. I tried the Shrimp And Bacon burrito which had Shrimp and bacon, grilled onions, red peppers and cheddar cheese topped with fresh diced tomatoes, avocado crema and micro cilantro. I was delighted at every bite. Service was okay, but then again its a food truck. If at Pismo Beach, stop here, grab a bite and enjoy the views!
Amazing views from the rooms. My room had a pool view + ocean view + an amazing sunset view. From the layout of the hotel I believe every room has amazing views.The breakfast was one of the best Ive ever had at any hotel. Special kudos to the staff who serve hot items. Do tip them please.There is a gazebo with amazing sunset view, best spot to take pictures. Be aware of the birds over there. The pelicans are huge.The rooms were comfortable. Pool and hot tub were all very well maintained.Do note because of the abundance of pelicans the whole area has a weird smell in the air. Youll get used to it some time and in my opinion that doesnt cause any hindrance.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times never had a bad experience but as I was checking out and leaving the automatic slide doors closed on me and scratched my arm up the ladies in the front including the guest service manager didnt bother asking if I was ok. They dont want to take liability Im assuming . That is a hazard and very dangerous I think they know the door is broken they need to fix ASAP because when we checked in I noticed the doors wouldnt open either we were waiting for it to open for few minutes the front desk didnt say anything either. I wouldnt pay the money we did to stay here again based on this experience Ive stayed at other hotels in pismo never had a bad experience like this.

This was an outstanding hotel very close to the beach and with a great view. The rooms were large, clean and quiet. I wish they had carpeting but other than that personal preference this place is excellent. Highly recommended and I’ll be back soon.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The view is so much better than any of the other hotels in the area. The view of the ocean is free from traffic and people. You get a real ocean view along with the ocean sounds at night and early morning. The pool was beautiful and clean. The staff is amazing, especially Idalia who was part of the breakfast team. She was so professional but very personable and caring. She made sure my daughter who is currently in a wheel chair was comfortable and had acess to anything she needed. She went above and beyond. You dont get that type of customer service anymore. Rooms were clean and spacious. The price was a bit high but outside of that, every thing was great.
Wow this Hotel is just special. We stayed here in August 2022 - unfortunatly just for 1 night but the employees made it so special. We got a very cute room and the view was just perfect. We left the doors open all night to hear the ocean and pelicans. The breakfast was awesome, especially those mini waffles. The Location is really nice, you can have a short walk along the coast side to Pismo Peer. Thanks again and we hope to come back soon.
We booked two pool/partial ocean view rooms and were very satisfied. We wished we had spent a little bit extra for a room with a full view but we still had a good time. Overall, very nice stay and would return, especially since they are fully renovating all the rooms! Man was this place nice!!!! Me and my daughter soaked in the hot tub for hours upon hours…just enjoying the view and not wanting to go home. The room was great and spacious. And don’t even get me started on the breakfast. The mini waffles were ADORABLE …and delicious…. Anyway, to conclude this review I would just like say that this hotel was AMAZING, and my family would love to come back. Thank you for having us and attending to our needs!

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Shore Cliff Hotel near Pismo Beach and Cal Poly, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The hotel has breathtaking views of the beach and pier complete with the mesmerizing sound of the waves crashing along the shore. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were warmly greeted by Christine, our old friends new fiancé, who used to live in the area and graduated from Cal Poly which is only 14 minutes away.The hotels many amenities: the continental breakfast with a wide range of options, including waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, and various juices and yogurt. We were also impressed with the workout center, pool, and jacuzzi available for guests.Although the trip was a spur-of-the-moment, 4-hour drive from my home, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend the Shore Cliff Hotel as a must-stay for those visiting Cal Poly or for anyone looking for a quick getaway.I do have one minor suggestion for the hotel, which would be to place the little plastic containers for the syrup near the hot syrup warmer, as it would make it easier for guests to find it. Despite this small issue, I am looking forward to returning to the Shore Cliff Hotel in the future with more time to spend and enjoy all that it has to offer. Ps... Do Remember to leave a Tip as they surely deserve it here. I give Shore Cliff Hotel 5 Stars and look forward to visiting again this year.
This hotel is absolutely perfect. The property has astonishing views from any angle. I love the stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. Seeing the seagulls, pelicans, bunnies and squirrels while hearing the crashing waves was truly a harmonious moment in nature, while reading a book on my balcony. Best stay ever 🙌🏼

I’m extremely picky when it comes to hotels and I was nothing short of extremely impressed! We had two different rooms and both were fantastic. The rooms smelled very pleasant, lots of amenities, very large tv, comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious! We were on the bottom floor but the view even that low was amazing. Looking forward to returning and staying much longer!

I did not stay at this Hotel. My daughters took my wife there for an early 60th birthday surprise.I am an exclusive Best Western member. When Lulu the manager told me this property was no longer Best Western I said maybe you can change my mind...Well Lulu YOU came through!!!! You went over and about my expectations. My wife and daughters loved it...Thank you for being so accommodating.I cant wait to visit this property.And to the owner if you see this Lulu is an asset to your company I hope you appreciate her customer service skills And to the people who write bad reviews are you sure you are talking about the right Hotel.
We stayed Friday and Saturday nights.4pm check in 12 pm checkout. Pretty standard. Clean and cozy. We had ocean view rooms and it was amazing. We were here for a corporate event and were treated so well. They provided a continental breakfast that was actually so much more. Waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, tamales, hardboiled eggs, coffee etc., oatmeal and other stuff too.Plenty of seating and it starts at 7 ends at 10. We never had to wait in long lines or for a seat.The staff was wonderful and they had a coffee maker in the room bit I had brought keurig pods so I called and guess what they swapped ours out for a one cup keurig and yay I could have my coffee all day.The room has heat and cooling and did provide an extra warm blanket. I personally couldnt sleep on their very fat pillows so next time Id bring my own. I know many would love the pillows but they were so big. Great for me for sitting up at least.The bathroom had a double sink and since I was traveling with my best friend this came in handy because we both pack a ton of toiletries and hello two girls sharing a bathroom this was a wonderful welcome surprise.I would absolutely return. I loved strolling the grounds and I felt very safe.
We have stayed a few times. Rooms are nice, ocean front rooms view are fantastic. Next door to Ventana you can stumble your way back. Power went out NYE all night long, no compensation for its tho.

The hotel room was quite outdated. We got a noisy room right next to the elevator and the front desk said they were fully booked so couldnt change it. The breakfast was not good either. I feel its more like a 2 star hotel, although I paid quite more than $300 for one night. Not worth it.

The view at the hotel is beyond words. The property is very well taken care of. In the morning and evening during our stay we strolled on the property watched sunset. It is simply beautiful. The room is clean and house keeping does a good job. The breakfast is good with plenty of choices. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is a mile away from the pier where we fished twice. Beach is a short stroll from the hotel. The beach is plat and calm and perfect for digging the sand. There are plenty of trails around without having to drive a car. Very pleased with our stay.

Although they dont clean the rooms daily like most hotels post pandemic, the rooms are large and very comfortable. I slept very well on the bed. They have a large pool with pool towels available at the pool. Breakfast is included.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! My husband and I came for our babymoon. We stayed in room 215. I think we had just about the best view in the whole hotel. We had a view of the pool and the beach that looked out at the gazebo.

We decided to spend the night after wine tasting in Edna Valley. We received a great deal by booking through the hotel web site. Our room had a fabulous view looking south towards the Pismo beach pier. Sunrise was amazing. Breakfast was surprisingly good and included scrambled eggs., sausage and tamales. Loved the hotel and cannot wait to get back for a longer stay
We just love this place she have celebrated many beautiful times here. They accommodated our honeymoon with a waterfront room, the view is breath taking. We will never forget how amazing they took care of us and just what an amazing time we had on our most special of days. So grateful for their lovely staff, their beautiful property and amazing views, things well never forget.
Awesome location with pet friendly rooms. Great views and a nearby, walkable location to pier. Breakfast options are very good: hot items as well as fresh fruit, quality coffee, and dairy-free milk, waffles, bagels, and packaged pastry.
One word...... BEAUTIFUL! From checking in to checking out our trip was flawless. Rooms were clean. We got the room above the pool cause we came with our two young sons. They never wanted to leave the balcony overlooking the ocean! Hot breakfast in the morning ready to take back to your room (Covid protocol) and if you needed anything you can just text them and they would bring it to your room. All the hotels on the cliffs are connected by a walking trail. Every morning and evening we did this. Also a few hotels down they had stairs right down to the beach. The pier was a short 3 minute drive (easily walkable if you didn’t have a 4 year old who wants to do everything by himself). Couldn’t have been more happy with our stay. Can’t wait to stay again!
Clean, spacious, accommodating room with kitchenette and private patio. View of the ocean from the first floor room! Imagine how it looks from the third floor. Pet friendly! Yeah, its an extra $50/night but shes worth it. Friendly staff, nice amenities and great parking. This is my new go-to hotel for when Im on the Central Coast.

We stayed there for a weekend and it was an amazing experience! They gave us an upper level room with unobstructed view of the entire horizon. We watched sunset from our balcony and it was unearthly. I had asked for some recommendations for good food around the place and the person at reception suggested some. We tried all of the recommended restaurants and the food was to die for.Breakfast is still grab and go but they had a person serve hot beverages and toast bagels etc.Very short drive to the pier.Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy a quiet and serene vacation
They only reason why I gave this hotel a 3 star was because of its beautiful views and oceanfront rooms. If it wasn’t for that I’d give it a one star and this is why.. when we first arrived after a 4 hour drive we were greeted by a rude gentlemen. He wasn’t welcoming at all and gave me attitude just because I gave him the heads up that their phones lines weren’t working.. I wasn’t complaining at all but was just trying to be nice by letting them know that we couldn’t reach them.. We tried to check in a little early and he was also super sarcastic and said “well check in is at 4pm.. well dah!! Everyone knows that..every hotel I’ve been to let’s u check in before 4 as long as they have rooms clean and available.. the lady was much nicer and I appreciate her helping us check in a little early. As far as the the room goes. It was super dated, dirty carpet, no central AC, and looks like they haven’t done anything to it in years. For the price they charge they should consider making it look a little more presentable. You can do small things like change the carpet.. little small detail will satisfy your customers more. Pool didn’t have enough umbrellas.. how much can that possibly cost.. again little things can make a huge difference
We stayed in a pet-friendly ocean-front room during the last week of September 2020. The room was decent and comfortable. Some minor complaints about the accommodations: the bed was sagging a bit, the patio door was difficult to open/close, and they actually charge for the bottles of water in the room. We were a bit disappointed we got a ground floor room, but kind of expected it since we had a dog with us. But we did see other guests with dogs in upper floors, so I suppose we could have requested it if we had known its possible. The best part about this hotel was the beautiful views from its grounds. Bird lovers will appreciate how close they can get to the pelicans and seagulls. I wish they had fire pits like the nearby hotels, so guests can enjoy the grounds more, especially at night. Its a bit of a walk to get down to the beach, but not too bad. There werent many people around during our stay, so it was quite peaceful and relaxing. But not sure how it would be during peak season.
Its not the Ritz, but the rooms are clean and spacious, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the views are gorgeous. Its also worth noting that the shower heads and water pressure here are much better than what you will find at the average hotel.Lots of restaurants and shopping within walking distance or a short drive.For the price its hard to find something to complain about.
Booked this place for a quick getaway and it was a great location to relax, take in the view and soak in the sun. From the road its lacking a bit of curb appeal but the walk along the cliffs and gorgeous landscaping by the ocean make up for it and set this hotel apart from some of the hotels in town that seemed less quiet. The anniversary note and cute swan set up was a nice touch and we enjoyed the sparkling cider. The saltwater pool is heated and wasnt busy at all and I liked how late the jacuzzi was open at night. Only downside was limited room service and housecleaning.... and the barking dog that woke us up in the morning.
Great resort and location in Pismo Beach!! This hotel truly has the best oceanfront rooms I have seen. It is worth every penny. It has these swings that are like sturdy hammocks with incredible views. I could lose hours in those!! They also offer a great breakfast even during Covid-19 you just grab and take to your room. Hands down one of the best hotels.
We spent a night here on our trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and regret not stopping here for 2 days. Beautiful location, plenty of wildlife, large rooms with ocean view... One of the best hotels weve had the pleasure of sleeping in on a three week trip.

They dont clean the rooms every day (due to covid) if youre staying for multiple days, which is understandable. This was one of the few hotels Ive stayed at which offered complimentary water, and there was breakfast too. The room had a microwave and a fridge too. Theres plenty of parking and finding a spot was a breeze.
The staff and maid service were great.The room perfectly situated to hear waves and be lulled to sleep, something I love.Awesome views of the sunset and pelicans and surfers. Seagulls will visit you on your balcony.So very peaceful and beautiful.Not a perfect hotel but relative to price range and considering its location, an awesome place and we will stay there again.Breakfast is about a 4 star.
First, a measly, con. The hotel is older and needs some TLC. Pros abound. The staff is eager to help, friendly and competent. The location is perfect if you love the sights, sounds and smells of the ocean. From our balcony we had an unhindered view of the cliffs and beach. We watched otters at play, pelicans soaring and a multitude of other flying or swimming creatures doing what they do. Its like theyre putting on a show for the visitors. Bring binoculars. The place is a gem.
Great! loved the ocean view room. Bed wasnt the most comfortable but the rest of the stay made up for it. nice to see hard floors instead of carpet... for me its a nice clean feel. great service with a smile. Enjoyed the full breakfast. great location with access to the beach. we liked it so much we added on an extra night
Stunning! Staff was really nice, and the property well kept. The room itself was spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. Even with a partial ocean view, the experience was breathtaking. I appreciated the Covid-aware grab and go breakfast. Best hotel I’ve stayed at in a long time!
Ive never been to Pismo but if I do go I will stay here. My parents go all the time and love this hotel and i know part of the reason is because of their management. Valerie Calloway is so nice and very accommodating. My parents were staying there last year but my dad got really sick and had to leave early. We had given them a gift card for their stay. Valerie was so sweet and put the remainder on the books.Today I booked another trip for my parents using that remainder to partially pay for their room. She was so nice and kind and booked a room for their upcoming trip. She made it all very easy.Like I said before, I will stay at this hotel whenever I make it to Pismo. The customer service alone is worth it.Thank you Valerie for your kindness.
An ocean view room is a must. Continental 🥞🍳 breakfast hits the spot. Employees are very friendly and very accommodating, they found out we were on our honeymoon and gifted us a bottle of 🍷 wine. We enjoyed our stay but the view is everything.
This hotel is so dirty and outdated. When we checked in noticed room door wouldn’t lock and had to call for maintenance to fix it and also found bathroom sink leaking later that night… do they not inspect the rooms? This is crazy for the price. You can hear everything from 2nd floor… this hotel needs renovation badly! Bed sheets smells bad, towels… I’ll just stop here, you get the picture; management needs to carefully review their cleanliness of rooms and inspections. I would never visit this hotel again…
This review is about the Shore Cliff Hotel at 2555 Price St, Pismo Beach, CA 93449. Our stay was for 1 night, October 1-2, 2020. This place was overwhelmingly beautiful. Our stay was in one of the suites, 2 bedroom, 1 bath and large living area with kitchen bar. It came with a free breakfast of tamales and waffles, yogurt and fresh fruit, cereal and milk, coffee, tea and juices. It was clean and refreshingly updated. The Suite is at the edge of the cliff offering both bedrooms an unobstructed view of the ocean. The living area opened up to a view of the beach and Pismo Pier. If you decide to have breakfast on the deck, you might be visited by a very friendly and well-behaved sea gull. Also, the hummingbirds are a delight to watch. There is a short walk to the stairs that take you down to the beach. The Pismo Pier is about 1 mile away and a very beautiful walk. The staff was friendly and the room very clean. I highly recommend the Shore Cliff Hotel as your Pismo Beach destination hotel.
Hotels done right. Great location, amazing views. All staff were great, especially Katie on the front desk, she made us feel so welcome. Heated pool was great. Enjoyed the breakfast. Very relaxing place. They even provided courtesy binoculars to borrow so you can watch the whales and dolphins from your private balcony.Just to the hotel... only improvement could be to add black out blinds/curtains to the room? It was quite bright in the morning.
Great location! The room was comfy and clean with a nice size couch to nap on. The maintenance staff keep the grounds and pool spotless. There are a lot of pelicans on the cliffs around the hotel that were cool to see. There is a short walk to reach the stairs for beach access. Overall a great location and will be returning.
Negative: We were there during a flooding situation, so between the fact that we could barely leave the hotel and there being flooding in the county, it was not actually the vacation we had planned. It wasn¿t really the fault of the hotel.
Pros: front desk staff were nice and efficient, awesome view from room of the ocean, mini fridge eventually kept drinks super coldCons: seagulls making all kinds of noises late at night and early in the morning (kept waking me up); although they seem to rent out the outdoor area overlooking the ocean to folks wanting weddings there, which Im sure is great if youre the ones getting married, it keeps hotel guests from being able to walk out there to enjoy the great view (unless you want to walk thru someones wedding); mini fridge in room must have been plugged in just minutes before we got there, because 6 hours later our drinks were still only slightly cold (when we came back to our room after dinner and wanted something cold and refreshing to drink); balcony sliding door lock wasnt working properly, so when we wanted to leave the room for a while, we had to use 2 chairs and a blow-dryer to brace the door closed (see pic)
Beautiful location on the cliffs above Pismo Beach, most rooms have a view, great breakfast included, and a great restaurant next door called the Ventana Grill. Also a 16 min walk to the Dinosaur Caves park
Very clean and nice rooms, amazing view at the shore. However the name of the place is very similar to a different hotel (Cliff Hotel) so it might be confusing.
Great place. We had a lot of fog, so the view wasnt as great, but I cant hold it against the hotel. Rooms are a decent size and clean. Beds very comfortable.Birds are everywhere here.. pelicans, cormorants, seagulls. We even saw a few seals down in the water.Beach access is a quick, easy walk down through other hotels and then down some stairs.The restaurant next to it is very good, as well.
I did not enjoy my stay here. Grounds were gorgeous but dirty. Clientele here were mostly rough and loud. Rooms are nice and clean, but all have adjoining doors to the room next to you, so you could easily hear your neighbors. Breakfast was ok. I will not be coming back though as it’s more of a overpriced motel and just not pleasant enough for the price.
This hotel was new prob 20 years ago. It is well maintained and clean. The prices are high but so is everything else in the world.
We just had the most wonderful time at the Shore Cliff Hotel! We were so fortunate to have beautiful warm sunny weather! We had a beautiful family suite on the 2nd floor with absolutely gorgeous ocean views over all the balconies. I loved that we had one view from the bedrooms with such an expansive ocean view over the cliffs and also a beautiful ocean view over the pool, it was perfect. The size of the suite was great, such a big living room that was so helpful with our 2 young kids. The kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed, I had ordered some things from target just in case but we really didnt need it. I feel like they thought of everything. The grab & go breakfast in the mornings was perfect for our family. Great hot coffee and plenty food choices! My kids loved getting up in the mornings and going down the elevator to go pick out whatever they wanted for breakfast and we enjoyed bringing it back to our room to relax and eat with a view. The pool was another one of our favorite parts. Its big and beautiful and so perfect to have it overlooking the ocean. We used it all day everyday! Nothing like sleeping at night with the sliding doors open to hear the sound of the ocean. Everyone we encountered was so helpful and lovely, great recommendations and the ladies every morning at breakfast couldnt have been nicer or sweeter, especially to my 2 young kids, they remembered every morning what they liked to eat. Thank you Shore Cliff for such a memorable and wonderful bday trip! We will absolutely be back! Only thing I would hope to be able to choose next time is a family suite on the 3rd floor so theres no one above.
Beautiful hotel . Rooms are nice. Two things that the hotel needs to do. 1 is clean under the ac unit and seal properly. 2 seal the front door properly when its windy the door whistles . And it did the entire night and kept my girlfriend and I up most the night . The pool is heated and you can even go swimming at night which was awesome and fun.
What a beautiful property! The facilities are very clean and well kept. The ocean view room is definitely worth the upgrade, it had a fantastic view of downtown Pismo and the ocean. The swing in the common area is so relaxing with the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs down below. We will definitely be staying with the Shore Cliff again!
We loved our stay here! We were driving from the Bay area to Arizona and needed a place to spend the night. Our first choice of room (Oceanfront King) was unavailable, which is not surprising when showing up at 5 pm without a reservation. The front desk person, I think her name was Kathryn, took us to see four different available rooms to choose from. She was so patient! We ended up in a King Pier View, which was great. No sunset view (which is only 5 minutes and can be seen from any of the public areas) but a great view of the Southern part of the beach, with no dogs nearby, and no smells (not too close to the rocks with the pelicans). We slept with the sound of the Ocean waves and enjoyed the sunny patio view the following morning. The breakfast, which was revised due to COVID, was still plentiful with lots of great choices. If you have a reason to stay near Pismo, definitely put Shore Cliffs at the top of your list!
Picked this property as it advertises as being pet friendly. What we found is its more pet tolerant than friendly. There is no a green area for the pets, there is a ~50sq Ft area of AstroTurf right in front of some of the rooms and thats it. The room was decent for an older property but was filthy. They have cards posted in the room stating that they only clean every three days, apparently that does not include between guests. We had hair on the walls and ceiling in the bathroom, unknown stuff on the walls, hand prints and smudges on the widows and mirrors, a thick layer of dust on the shelves, mold on the patio door frame, and what appeared to be blood on the bathroom floor and mirror. We requested a cleaning and more soap, what we received was the bed being made and the towels replaced, but no cleaning and no soap. I would not stay there again and encourage others to look elsewhere.

My family and I took a trip to Pismo for Mothers Day weekend and the room we booked was the Pier View and wow just BEAUTIFUL. The view and property grounds beautiful and clean.. Lulu and staff were super friendly and accommodating. We will be back for 4th of July.
I had a wonderful stay. This time of year (January) must be an off peak season because prices were so inexpensive. We were able to snag an oceanfront apartment. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was provided, and there is a wonderful walk in the back of the hotel that is connected to many other hotels, but also an amazing view and beach. Amenities included a gym, sugar cookies at the front desk, heated pool and hot tub. It is a short drive to many restaurants, but also a 20 minute walk either way to downtown or dinosaur caves park.
Great amenities, we loved all that was offered from breakfast to a pool and jacuzzi + bocce ball and gazebo for sunset viewing. Just a minute walk from ventana restaurant (we received 10% off for staying with the hotel!) beautiful grounds and great for any occasion.
We stayed in one of the sea view rooms, if you can ask for a room on the upper floor - the view is better, but there is no lift so youll have to carry your bags up the stairs. The reception staff were friendly and check in was quick. We also got some good recommendations for restaurants for lunch and dinner during our stay. The view from the room was fantastic. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. The bed was a good size and we slept well.
Just checked in and it’s very disappointing 😬booked an oceanfront king for our anniversary and upgraded to ensure we got a great room. We got stuck on the first floor with a giant walkway between us and the ocean. Not only that we are in the north building and the freeway is visible and noisy. Not at all what we were expecting for nearly 500 a night. Room is old, dumpy and feels like a mole hole. We will be staying somewhere else next time. The only upside is the staff was very professional and friendly. Tried to move rooms but hotel was sold out. Oh well 🙄
The room was very clean and cozy, the facilities were very nice, and the staff was extremely friendly. I had a double queen room with a view. My only complaint is that if the beds had been on the opposite side of the room, Id have been able to watch the ocean from the bed itself. The complimentary breakfast was very good.

Good pismo beach location. Right on the ocean, although a little bit off the beach. The welcome cookies were quite tasty. Well appointed and large rooms, all with ocean views at good prices. Great stop on the PCH, near both the ocean and San Luis Obispo.
Fabulous experience at this hotel. We LOVED the location! Our room was clean and had a great view of the beach. We were impressed with the included breakfast spread!
Very clean and nice hotel. But maintenance needs some improvement. As a start, initially our key did not open our room door. They had to call maintenance to fix it. Then, next morning our toilet was clogged. I called front desk twice over one hour period before maintenance came and fixed the clogged toilet, and in the mean time I had to use the toilet, but I could not. Besides these issues, hotel location is excellent, they have decent breakfast, hotel room and hotel grounds are clean and well maintained, and staff is very friendly.
This hotel was excellent. Ill post the only downside first: The access to the beach. It takes a few minutes to walk along the edge of the properties down to Pismo beach. If you want direct access, youll need to look elsewhere. The cliff views are incredible, however. I recommend staying with the cliff view if possible, and keep your balcony door open. The sound of the waves is loud and wonderful all day long. The complimentary breakfast is of very high quality and the rooms have great wifi, a fridge, tv, and microwave. My wife and I really loved our stay here and will recommend to any traveling to the area.

Great rooms for a good price. Right on the cliff, the Shore Cliff Hotel provides a beautiful scenic and photo opportunity of the open ocean. Probably one of the best features of this hotel is the gazebo and lounge area out back, surrounded by a beautiful garden of flowers and shrubs.
What a pleasant surprise to find this hotel right on the water - and let friendly, to boot!A five star (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) all around. The room was not only clean, but very well equipped, comfy beds and pillows, clean balcony chairs and over looking the pool (not our first choice, but more affordable), and that overlooked the ocean, even though we could not hear the waves.Wonder place and if we ever drive up or down Highway 2 again, this will be our stop!
Highlight of our trip up the California coast! Staff at check in was very welcoming and helpful. We slept with the sliding door open listening to the waves all night. Our son slept in our hammock on the porch! The views are incredible. The breakfast was similar but a little better than most hotels. Great to have it available until 10am. Pool is excellent over looking the ocean. Only improvement would be an easier way to access the beach. The staff were very friendly and directed us how to get there and it wasn’t bad at all. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

For ocean room views, even in the summer time, the prices cant be beat. We used to love going to Shore Cliff, but they are no longer pet friendly, so we had to venture out. Now we either go here or Lighthouse. Inn at the Cove is relaxing, has nice rooms, and I believe all rooms have an ocean view. The rooms are pretty clean and the employees at the front desk are friendly. Ive visited 3 or 4 times the last 2 years and I keep coming back, so it must be pretty good.
Love this location. I thought we would be able to watch the sunset while swimming in the pool, not realizing the direction. We sat on benches outside of the pool area along the path for the best westward view and got some cool photos of the waves crashing the cliff rocks below.
Stayed here on a Friday night. Room was very nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were amazing. I slept great here!! Our room was on the top floor over looked the pool/ocean. Nice place to stay! I would definitely stay again!!
Excellent location right off the freeway, perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The place is incredibly clean and well taken care of. The room was small, but very functional with double vanities in the bathroom. Excellent gym with cardio and weight machines. Breakfast was also excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
We normally stay at the sand castle inn. We booked 1 week ahead of schedule. Customer service was not stellar but bare minimum. It was not the worst but not the greatest. The room was surprisingly really good for pismo standards. It was not as close to the ocean as expected. The pool was adequately heated but for some reason the heating mechanism was turned off before or at 6 pm. People above us were soo loud that we woke up at 1 am. Would try a different hotel next time.
This location has a great view of the shore and ocean. The rooms are alittle small but they can give you a air bed if requested, and that the standard size of the bed is king. The bathroom is very spacey and they just recently renovated their rooms. The service is great and they redo your room if requested. The rooms have safe to keep your valuables safe.

Ive stayed in Pismo a few times and I have to say that Shore Cliff offered a great value for the best ocean views in town. We stayed in a 2 bd suite, and the rooms were perfect for our family size. The views from the balcony were beyond amazing. We were able to watch the sun rising and setting! We saw dolphins, seals, pelicans, and sea otters as well. Front Desk staff was pleasant and check in was quick. Housekeeping did a fair job cleaning, but could be improved. Continental breakfast offered healthy options (fresh strawberries, other fruit, oatmeal, toast, etc), and tasted more fresh than other breakfasts at other hotels. Only down side would be the smell in the direct cliff area where the pelicans hang out (hard to avoid that), and the crazy amount of flies during mid-day, especially by the pool. So make sure to keep those screens closed at all times! But overall, nice place to stay when passing through Pismo Beach, or for a nice weekend getaway.

We arrived early and our room wasnt ready but we were offered an alternative room which we declined as our room had a pool and sea view. We were allowed to use the swimming pool until our room was ready which includes pool towels. The check in experience was easy when we actually checked in and we were offered tea/coffee and cookies. Our room was lovely with a great view. Breakfast the next morning was good too. Would recommend this hotel if you are passing through. We ate at the Vanata Grill next door which was also good.
What a nice little gem. The hotel rooms are renovated, the beds are comfortable. The hotel is basically right by the ocean you wake up in the morning and get to hear the ocean waves and its so relaxing. The staff are nice, and they also offer complimentary breakfast which is surprisingly good. I had zero complaints.
Loved our stay at the Shore Cliff Hotel. Grounds and views were amazing. Full continental breakfast had everything youd want. Our room on the 3rd floor faced the south coast. Wonderful view and no direct sunshine. We were hoping the walking bridge would be finished by the time we were there...but well have to come back. King size bed was extremely comfortable!

Great location with an amazing view. The staff were all amazing and very friendly. The view is really the main attraction here. Be prepared for the bird poop all over the place from the sea gulls and brown pelicans, which can smell pretty bad but you will experience this anywhere on the coast. It is not the hotels fault for the birds. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the limited amount of parking at the hotel. The lot was completely full each time we came back after a day of exploring. We had to move our car three times because we had to just squeeze it in until a spot opened up. If they can improve the parking, I would give it 5 stars.
We choose this hotel because it had an electric car charging station which made our drive from LA to San Francisco much easier. It quickly became our new favorite hotel on the Central Coast. The location is amazing! Right on a bluff overlooking the ocean with beautifully landscaped grounds, including several swings, waking paths, benches, a gazebo, bocce ball court. And closet up views of hundreds of pelicans resting on the cliffs below. There are several hotels on these bluffs and the walking paths in front of them are open to everyone. Including a staircase down to the beach below.The room was modern and clean. Exterior corridors, but felt very safe. Beautiful views from the clean, new furniture on the patio.We will be back!
We just had a short stay here on our road trip up the coast. It was a wonderful property worthy of its name, and the ocean view rooms were beautiful! The staff was very friendly and jumped for the couple requests we made. Great stay!

Detail oriented hotel in a beautiful settings. Rooms are a little small but clean and functional. Complimentary breakfast is OK (I like made to order eggs and omlets). Staff is ready to serve and nice. A little bar or a snack bar would be very necessary for this resort.
Beautiful view. Room: clean and very comfortable the view is stunning. Staff: very nice and accommodating. My fiancee purposed to me in their gazibo it was very romantic. He played music and put down rose petals (I hope he asked permission) which didnt seem to be a problem since of course we cleaned up after ourselves (what type of person wouldnt). The staff was very congratulatory and even sent us on our way with chocolate and well wishes. The breakfast was also good for it being apart of their stay. I cant wait to go back in the warmer months .
Beautiful seafront hotel with all rooms over looking the coast area. Pool in the middle with seaviews. Stylish and comfortable rooms, will definitely be back.
This place was pretty nice. While not on the beach, it is over the water. The sunsets were amazing when we were visiting. They have a really nice pool area. It can get a little breezy, but it is by the ocean and to be expected. When we booked it was on black Friday and the day of booking we were staying there. This is probably why we were able to get a great rate on the room.
We had an ocean view room. Our view was amazing! The brekfast was simple but it did the job. The staff was friendly and helpful. Bonus, the hotel is walking distance to Ventana restaurant which is also amazing. The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is because the rooms are close to the parking lot so we did get some noise from the parking lot and street.
Great staff and service. Very clean. Extra amenities like binoculars to use during your stay and homemade cookies. Had the pier side view...beautiful. Breakfast was great...French toast, sausage, cheese omelets, oatmeal with all the fixings, yogurt and fresh fruit...just to name some of the items. Orange juice, apple juice, coffee also available.
Wonderful bed and bedding. Very quite for a busy beach hotel. We stayed on the top floor. Fantastic views. Great pool and hot tub. Very clean throughout.

EXCEPTIONAL experience!! First time in Pismo Beach and we booked an oceanfront room and we were so glad we did! They didnt originally have a king bed, only 2 queens on a 3-day Valentines Day weekend. I called and requested a king bed if it becomes available and they were able to accommodate me. I also paid for rose petals on the bed, and OMG.... they did an AMAZING job!! So beautiful!! They even provided a bottle of chilled Martinelli with 2 wine glasses, as well as complimentary bottles of water. The oceanfront view from our room was breathtaking. You could hear the sound of the waves as you fall asleep and waking up in the morning. Even during COVID, they provided variety of choices for breakfast (free), they didnt limit the guests with non-hot breakfast (like cereals, muffins, etc) - they had someone serving the hot breakfast. The resort itself was very nice and clean, and the view..... OH MYYY GOSHHH!! Even the restaurant next door, Ventana Grill, was great - oceanfront view and the food is good. We would definitely stay here again.
The prosAmazing 2 bedroom suite with 3 beds, a great livingroom 4 bottles of complimentary water, real silverware and dishes. Kurig -(They say they have Seattles best coffee kcups- no. Its the bed bath and beyond junk so bring your own) 3 sinks, a big fridge/freezer, and best of all- 2 balconies.One was off the living room and the view was the pool and ocean. The second was accessed thru sliding glass doors in both rooms that showed the whole ocean view- because we werent on the first floor we left the doors open a bit to listen to the waves all night.Full length mirror in the hallway, 1 mirror and 1 magnifying mirror outside of bathroom.The breakfast was basic fair, waffles, fruit, fruit cups...nothing to write home about, but it was ok.Meandering walking paths interspersed with flowering plants with a gazebo on the Cliffside was beautiful and relaxing.Another small nice convenience was Ivy, the text messager automated helper- you text her with requests and housekeeping will deliver them.I have to tell you the restaurant next door, Ventana Grill, was delightful! Pork chop, burritos, and killer fish and chips - so take advantage of it being so close.The cons.They dont tell you the gym and hot tub are closed down. I wish they would because I would have looked elsewhere to stay- nothing on their website at all about it. Dont tell me you have the amenities then when I show up have them closed off.Then there is the old bathroom. Its small but was functional so 🤷. The rest of rooms look decently remodeled- just not the small bathroom.The thin walls! The neighbors were fighting, above us the kids were running and thumping, below us a baby was crying. Thankfully almost all of it was during daylight hours.Nice mattresses, I slept good, my child didnt, and BFF slept amazing - so it could go either way, but the pillows were abundant and great.The air/heater - it was those mounted window units that they had in each room- built into the wall- the one in the room with two beds was obnoxiously loud, glad we didnt need heat or air all night.The price. While I think we got it for a decent amount (670ish plus 100 deposit) the night before was only 300, so I do wish the price was a bit better.All in all It was nice. It was a massive room with awesome stuff. I will be coming back when hot tub is open, for sure.The view was great. 100 in my eyes -so relaxing.

Had a 3rd story room overlooking the pier. It was awesome. You also have access to the sister property next door which has ping pong tables, a play structure for kids, corn hole, chess set. The rooms were really nice and included a refrigerator. There is a restaurant on the property as well. I ordered a burrito which was very tasty. The swimming pool is heated. You have to make a reservation for the pool as they are only allowed to have 30 people inside at a time due to covid. I would stay here again. Friendly staff.
Overall the quality and service of the hotel was great, especially when it came to the hospitality on the days of Valentines Day. The staff appeared joyful in the celebration and brought it to our attention that everything was ready with the extra amenities we included. The only issues at all would be that the shampoo dispenser was empty and the conditioner dispenser fell off when we tried to use it and I didn’t want to bother calling when already taking a shower. Otherwise I’m sure they would’ve done something to fix it right away. I talked with Tina about it at checkout and she made sure we had a great overall experience.During events and holidays it can get a bit loud, so I would recommend; if it is preferred to sleep in early and relax to partying at the pool, to get the pier view option. It was mostly muffled bass that is audible in the pier view section, but my girlfriend was asleep already when It picked up so it didn’t bother me all too much. I believe it would have been a much different experience at the poolside view rooms.
I loved my stay at this hotel. Beautful room, stunning views and EXCELLENT customer service? I am definitely coming back and recommending my family and friends. I love that my room didnt have curtains but blinds, nor carpet instead flooring. For this reason hotels have that odd oder but did not experience that here. Some people mention that this place has a motel vibe, which it does, but this feature was extremely convenient with 3 kiddos! The room I stayed in, I was actually able to park right in from of the hotel door! There breakfast is not at all disgusting. Though it is very basic, there is plenty to get your day started! If youre coming to Pismo Beach, please stay here! Youll leave very happy and relaxed. Cant wait to come back for my anniversary
Good stay in a modern and comfortable room. Excellent views. Breakfast is ok. As with many of the Pismo Beach offerings at this price they are kind of high end motels but the room was nice, we had a good view and it worked well as a stopping point on our way north. They provided a baby crib (pack and play style) for free which was helpful.
Very clean. Got a partial ocean view room, but it really felt like a full view. Staff was very pleasant especially the front desk. Breakfast was buffet style. Only downside was their fitness center didnt have weights.
Its a lot nicer than I thought it would be! The rooms are spacious and luxurious compared to most other hotels. The service is fantastic, and the pools are heated! Plenty of parking too! They also have an automated system similar to Suri that keeps in touch with you via text to answer basic questions. Very helpful!
The Best Western here in Pismo Beach has great views overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The pool is also a great place to hang out during the day and also at night. Im from LA where theres light pollution and regular pollution and the stars are typically obscured so its cool to star gaze.Theyve renovated a whole bunch and theyre still in the process of fixing up their garden area in the back of the hotel where the cliffs are. I cant wait to see everything when its finished. Its looking good so far.Theres also free breakfast here in the mornings and theyve got trays that you can use to take food back to the rooms to eat on the balcony and soak in the scenery.I try to stay here as much as I can but during the peak seasons the rooms can get pricey.Pros: Theres a microwave and fridge in the room so if you have left overs from one of the many great restaurants in town you can always reheat it.Cons: the internet is brutal here. Its not very reliable so dont plan on doing too much heavy bandwidth reliant activities.
We booked an ocean view room about a week out and got an ok rate but in the future I would either book farther out or very close to check in day. There is some noise between rooms and the floor above you. If we go again I would get a top floor room. The room, lobby, and breakfast area were clean. Breakfast was basic with coffee, juice, oatmeal, cereals, fruit, bagels, toast and waffles. Coffee was Seattles best. We used the pool which was kept well. Other than the pool and breakfast room we didnt go anywhere else on the grounds. I would stay there again but make sure I got one of the better rates and maybe book a pier view room.
This place is chill. Clean, spacious comfortable room. We had the suite with a nice kitchenette. Right on the ocean, the sliding glass doors were never closed so we could listen to the waves crash on shore all day and all night. Good beds, good water pressure, plenty of hot water. The jacuzzi could be turned up a degree or two but you do get free cookies...so alright.
I will NEVER BOOK HERE again—Terrible experience at Shore Cliff Hotel. Poor treatment from female Manager when trying to check in, staff is unhelpful and could care less about guests (it was my birthday). Some rooms have nice views, but there is a terrible bird poop smell; not to mention the construction!! Booked an ocean view room (4 months in advance) for a special occasion, but upon arrival was offered an ADA room with no view, next to the very loud public breakfast kitchen!! Left this hotel after the female Manager became rude. Ended up having a fabulous stay down south a bit, at The Cliffs Hotel - I explained how it was my birthday and The Cliffs Hotel upgraded us!! Do yourself a favor, for professional staff and service, beautiful landscaping, elegant decor and a much cleaner, better all around property; I would book at The Cliffs Hotel - where the staff is hospitable, not hostile!
We had the suite overlooking the pool. Beautiful room with comfortable beds. The borrowing boardgames from the office and local beers you can purchase was a nice touch. Plus since it was the only room they had and it was really pricey, i believe 2 or 3 bedroom, they gave us the managers discount which was awesome!
You cant go wrong booking a room here. (Really nice newly remodeled rooms) Their location is perfect with direct stair access to an amazing beach. (The predominant offshore winds make for a great day on the beach even in the winter.) No need to drive anywhere if staying here, but should you choose to, youre Really close to Pismo Beach, Avila Beach and a Whole lot of award winning wineries.
Always a great getaway. Rooms are clean and nice, service is good. Even in Covid times this place exceeds expectations.Despite the restrictions and effort that the Republic of California has put on the hospitality industry these guys are overcoming it. It’s a shame that housekeepers, groundskeepers and good workers have been let go at properties like this.As long as Gavin and Nancy can command services to be provided for them and travel whenever and wherever they want they are good with others and middle income families being forced to see the impact of their selfishness. Local business shuttered, public piers shut down, many middle income families not able to afford travel and support the common workers of Pismo Beach but private yacht club is still functional. Lol.I hope people use common sense and get out of the house and support these businesses.This hotel is a little older but had been made new. Our favorite place to go without compromising our children’s college fund.
Stayed Fri/Sat on 4th July weekend 2011, Staff was helpful, very polite to a road worn rider.Had a pier view room on lower level, very nice, very clean, comfortable beds, good view, very nice grounds. Excellent location and easy to find. Didnt use the pool - to full of kids having a great time.(when youre a kid the best thing about a hotel is the pool and the elevators). Laundry worked and didnt wreck my clothes -always a plus!!! One word of warning dont park under the trees - lg birds - Im sure they would like to run those birds off - but hey its CA. Restaurant next door was excellent and is where free breakfast was served - cant beat the view. Happily recommend this place but Im disappointed that prices are up considerably on a weekday from what I paid last year on a holiday weekend. Will stay again if I can afford it.

Gorgeous views, very clean, and staff was amazing! Our daughter’s wedding was in Pismo Beach so we decided to stay here. After looking at many places on Trip Advisor, we chose Shore Cliff. The cleanliness, updated decor, wonderful review’s about the staff, breathtaking views, management pictures, and visiter’s photos, along with a large number of great reviews in general,this was our best choice ! We had a oceanfront view which was beautiful!! I highly recommend this hotel!!
We did not stay at the hotel. But we did walk through the outdoor area facing the cliff a few times when walking to Shell Beach the hotel is amazing and the views are stunning. We will probably be staying here our next trip to Pismo
My boyfriend and I have been coming to pismo for our anniversary every year! We have always stayed at the shore cliff their customer service has always been amazing, the rooms are great, my bf even asked ahead of time for them to decorate the room for me as a suprise. They did such a beautiful job and the views are incredible. I recommend this hotel to anyone who is thinking of going to pismo!

TLDR -- this hotel was middle of the road. The price was high and the room, while nice, was smaller than I would have liked. The staff was friendly and they serve breakfast (included in the room rate). The view of the ocean and the Pismo Beach pier from the balcony was stunning. The whole property showed minor signs of disrepair, specifically rust, but this is to be expected from a location on the ocean.
If I could rate the view alone, I would give it 10 stars. The hotel is an old best western that has been given a tiny facelift. Its not amazing, but its fine. It was clean and the service was good. However, the wifi is unusably slow, which is a bit annoying, and the parking lot fill up completely despite them policing license plates.Overall, you cant beat the view and the rooms are acceptable.
Shore Cliff is a nice hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are nice. We had an oceanfront king which is what I would recommend. Continental breakfast is ok but I believe it is more limited now due to covid restrictions. Definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
Be careful! I booked an ocean front room (beautifully depicted in the photos - bait and switch!) My daughter and I (two women) found ourselves in a room with no enclosed patio, on the ground floor, in a heavily trafficked pedestrian area, with no view and a sliding screen door that did not lock, and clearly had been broken into before. Anyone can walk by and see into our room, and it is noisy. So we have had to have the blinds and door closed, no ocean view, no sound of waves, no relaxing coffee on the patio. Definitely not a good experience.
The pool is wonderful and heated. The view cannot be beat. The patio areas are perfect for picnics and lounging around with a good book while looking at the sunset and enjoying the sea breeze. The breakfast is delicious and the room and very comfy.
Not a fan of the soft water...you cant tell if the soap have been rinsed off of you, so you keep washing because your skin feels soapy/slippery. When you dry off, the towels leave alot of white fuz and lint all over your skin which you then see on your clothes. The entrance to the room is outside (like a travel lodge) by the parking lot.You can hear people walking/running outside door. You can feel cool air coming through the side of door so we had to use the noisy wall unit heat when sleeping. The heat/cool air fan is wall unit, not central. Otherwise room was clean & toilet had strong flush. Nice view of ocean & they provided 2 complimentary bottled water.
Beautiful view wow! Very clean and comfortable bed. Impressed they accommodate my little dog with a blanket, bowls and treats Nice breakfast in the morning. I would come back again!
Upper floor room with gratitude ocean view. Room was a good size and seemed recently updated, although both my wife and I thought it smelled like a smoking room that was deodorized, but all the rooms arenonsmoking, so it may just be the cleaner smell. Price was okay for ocean view.
The landscaping and plentiful outdoor seating combined with the very up-close bluffs wildlife make this hotel a pretty solid choice. Location is certainly walkable to downtown and to Dinosaur Caves park. Beach access is only minutes away from the nearest stairway. Rooms arent bad, but two rather unfortunate factors prevent them from being truly comfortable: spotty wifi and lights that are nearly all a daylight/cool white rather than a homey-feeling soft white (slightly yellow) light.

2023-12-17 15:45:55We LOVE the Shore Cliff, it’s like an annual pilgrimage. It is nestled half-way between our favorite coffee place and the Pismo Beach pier. The views are spectacular and the sound of the waves at night is like being immersed in a surround sound meditation chamber. The service is first rate I would recommend this place to anyone traveling up the coast in need of some rest and relaxation.

2023-12-07 18:53:41Where to begin... Very nice place. We decided last minute (yesterday) that we would head to the coast. Glad my wife chose this hotel. Great view of the coast and the beach. An added unexpected extra was the walkway that goes along the cliff and the beach; even goes over a bridge. The walkway goes behind all the hotels and there are very nice lookout points and some well built steps down to the beach. The breakfast was GREAT! The room was very nice as well. The pics are looking back at the Sea Cliff Hotel, to give you an idea how far the walkway goes. Was easy to reserve last minute off sea. The Red Head was harder to book, something about budget meetings but was able to work it out :)We will be back

2023-12-01 23:05:53The swing in the back is very comfy and big enough for two people. The walkway behind the hotels along the bluff is amazing with easy beach access and accommodations for dogs. The sidewalk in front of the hotels is also nice in case the back walkway is closed after hours. Location is perfect, within walking distance from a couple restaurants/bars. Rooms are clean and nice. The ocean view was amazing!

2023-12-15 21:02:35Service and staff were so hospitable and pleasant! Everyone seemed happy to be there. Breakfast was good.There are many seagulls and pelicans! They are very cute and not afraid of people however, they cry at night at times so if you are a light sleeper it may disturb you. The sound insulation between rooms is not the best but it was still generally quiet throughout my stay.

Not only are the grounds gorgeous and the views from the rooms incredible, from here you can walk along the cliff, down the steps to the beach, and follow the beach to the Pismo Pier. Its fantastic to be able to walk to downdown Pismo Beach and enjoy the beach without needed to rent a car, etc. For business travel, this was very convenient, comfortable, and I couldnt get enough of the views, the pelicans, the gardens, and the on site restaurant.

Negative: They need more electric car chargers needed for a destination like this. There were multiple cars waiting for the single working charger.

2023-11-21 18:28:37Ideal for families with young kids, which makes it less than ideal as a romantic getaway. Location is great. Ocean-side views are stunning (must request). Bit of a seagull problem on balconies. Heated pool and hot tub are splendid amenities though often crowded with kids. Rooms are clean and comfortable, if not charming, with large TVs, coffeemakers, microwave. The included breakfast is underwhelming, but the Ventana Grill a short walk away is a terrific dinner option, with a 10% discount for hotel guests.

2023-11-08 02:43:02Seriously the best hotel experience by far that I have ever had while traveling. We stayed from Friday to Monday and had the most welcoming experience. This was all because of a front desk agent named Samantha. She really went out of her way to be friendly, give us local tips and even went as far as to call and see if the store still had hott soup available because I wasn’t feel well the last night. She really went out of her way every time we saw her to make sure we were happy and having a good trip. Her energy and good vibes about her are unmatched. So thank you Samantha for really making this experience that much better..For the record I have never in my life wrote a review good or bad but I had to write one about Samantha and our trip to The Shore Cliff!!
