Great place! Great beer! Great food! Great Great atmosphere thanks to Jakes mom. Jake serves the great flavorful beers, Michelle helps with her great personality, and mom decorated the place. Very pleasant place. Would have stayed longer, but I was having way too much fun.
Love this place. It was a great place to catch up with a friend and have a beer midday. Great selection of beers, my favorite German beer, and the first dish thats ever combined Brussel sprouts with blue cheese and it actually had me going back for seconds and I HATE both those items. Thats kitchen magic imo. Super clean bathrooms like so clean I had to take a picture to prove I found a clean one to a friend who doesnt use public bathrooms as a rule. Its great, bartender/owner has great recommendations and we will be back and bringing our friends! So dont you guys come and crowd the place or Ill have to change my review to keep it a neighborhood secret ;)
Food was pretty good, had the burger and loaded tots. Also had the balsamic chicken salad from next door they brought over.The service was pretty bad, though. We walked in very confused because there was no host stand, and no one said anything to us. We figured out that youre supposed to just order at the bar and seat yourself. There was hardly anywhere to sit because almost all the empty tables had plates of food and drinks on them after people had left. We had to move plates over so we could have somewhere to sit.The bartender only paid attention to his friends and looked at stuff on their phones while a line waited to order. Youd think he would want better tips...Anyway, cute decor but the loud music and bad service made me not want to come back.
If I were rating this place on atmosphere alone, it would be a perfect 10. Beautiful, cozy, clean, and inviting.Service was not so great mainly because there is minimal service. You have to get in line to order everything. Depending on how busy it is, you can be waiting a long time and than waiting for the food and drinks.I personality did not like the food at all. We tater toots which had absolutely no seasoning and the machado fries which were salty and all the toppings were overkill, couldnt even taste the fries. And the carne asada was dry and flavorless. The alcohol selection was all local craft beers which I dont like but I know most people do. Wish they had a good cider available. I did try the sangria; my husband ordered it to see if I would like it, it tasted like flowers and was bitter which was terrible. I might return and give them a second chance since I literally live 2 minutes down the street. I want to love this place because it is the only place around.
The wait for food is ridiculous when theres only 2 other tables also waiting on food. A basic classic burger and loaded tots took over 30 minutes to receive and that was after myself and another table went up to ask how much longer it would be.It was misting out, which 90% of their tables are around the outside of their sitting area. It wouldnt be a problem if they had a different tent.The outside edge seat isnt covered by their tent so I sat there getting wet for the hour we were there. But if they bussed their tables we could have moved to one of the few inner tables.Though Im not sure it would matter, because halfway through eating our food, we found out the tent above us collects moisture. It started dripping all of the collected moisture on the tent all over the tables. It went from a drop every minute or so to a constant drip that made us hold our food so it wouldnt get soggy. This was after wiping our table a few times and using all our napkins.Food was good, but not worth the experience or price.
You can really tell that these people care about this place and care about what peoples experience will be. Brussel sprouts could have been cooked a little longer. Entry and drink selection was great.
This indoor/outdoor bar/grill is a real find tucked into a residential area, next to two terric delis/grocery stores. This place is virtually rootless and windows, perfect for summer.
Service was ok... I asked the server /food runner for sauce she turned and looked at me then kept walking. No soft drinks, only water, alcohol and non alcoholic drinks.The flies 🤌 are absolutely awful. I appreciate that they had the table fly swatter fans, but the amount of flies circling the table is absolutely disgusting.The food was good, but the flies killed the experience.
Side Yard in Escondido is fantastic! Friendly team here. Lots of beer and kombucha on tap. Food is excellent. Cool, casual vibe with Lush outdoor seating and bar seating. Great place to watch football. Live music on Wednesdays and Saturdays, trivia once per week too. We love it here and highly recommend it!!!
We love this place. Wed nights and Saturdays they have live music. We come every Wed night for the 6pm show. Easy listening, not too loud and some great artists. They just revamped their menu and the Yeaahaw Burger is amazing! Jake and team are super attentive and helpful. Thanks for the great date nights for my hubby and I!
Machado fries are not Carne Asada but ground beef. Beer was great, location was good, service was okay, asked to keep tab open but they closed me out, so didnt get another beer like I planned.Do recommend for drinks and setting.
No service at all. The young lady we flagged down to take our order looked like a deer staring at headlights when we inquired about the status of our order 45 minutes later. I had the fish tacos, meh, not warm 😩. My friend gobbled down his burger, wish I had ordered a burger. The atmosphere was nice, however. Nice open, airy feel, very pleasant. It was a little busy but other than the help we had to flag down 2 more times, the crowd there seemed jovial.

Wife had the chicken wings, I had the classic burger, and we shared the loaded tater tots. Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Patio type dinning. Order at the bar and take a number to your table. The gal at the register was very friendly and helpful.
Had the chicken sandwich..oooh spicy. Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection.. fries were fresh.. especially the truffle fries.

The staff felt overwhelmed and the music was way too loud for a Friday. Great concept and well be back. The beer selection is decent. The ambiance sold me. My son hated all of the pillows though. So did the folks around us.
Always great food and cold beer.Today 11/20, something I wasn’t expecting happened. They made a new salsa for the chips&salsa dish, and it was so fresh and tasty.Also try the wedge salad, add the Nashville hot chicken to it ( you won’t be let down) 120% perfect flavors all in one.
Good food and reasonably priced. Great selection of beers and wine and a nice decor. My only complaint is we were there in January and it is essentially an open air patio and while they had heaters we could see our breath and werent dressed for it. Bring a coat and maybe even a blanket if you go in winter.
There were so many flies.. disgusting! Moved to a different table, but the loud country music was overwhelming, so we left without ordering anything.
Half my food was served cold and the Machado fries had very little flavor salt goes a long way guys
WONDERFUL Experience!!! It was a Wednesday evening, a live music night. The atmosphere was fantastic. Service is caring and helpful. Food great and drink offerings awesome. So many great beers on tap. This is in the Hidden Meadows part of Escondido. Once you get the directions down, youll want to go back again and again. We also chatted with peeps around us. Theres a real neighborhood feel to it and the ambience and design are upscale outdoors. I cant wait to go back.
This new spot is Great!!!It has been a wonderful way to meet really nice people in our area. The owner, bartender, all the staff and Everyone we have met up there is Super Friendly and Nice. Last night was the first night they served food and it was excellent! We tried the Cheeseburger and Chicken Sandwich.. they both came with delicious fries. We really enjoyed both, they were juicy and tasty!They have a good selection of Beers on tap, which is very nice to see!! They have wine, some Seltzers and such.. So excited to have a Fun New place to go!!! Thanks to the owners and Staff!!!
An easy-going nice place to grab a taco and a cold beer. Patio atmosphere and a down to earth friendly staff. Its worth the drive for North County San Diego.
Beers on tap were local and excellent. Food was darn tasty, especially with their assortment of hot sauces. Would definitely go again if we are in the area. Friendly staff as well.

Ground Chuck YeeHaw Burger with Korean sauce is excellent, the Truffle Fries devine, and the Street Tacos (Asada) good flavor (although ground beef, not sliced) and the salsa verde was wonderful. Best of all, its off the tourist trail and you rub shoulders with locals who (better yet) bring their dogs for a friendly down home get together. Fun.

Walked in and had no idea whats going on. Long bar facing 4 TV screens leading to long hallway lined up with small round tables, leading to large rooms with tables and a stage for live music. No waitresses or waiters that I could identify. Almost walked out. Then someone pointed out the self service concept and the order process so I stayed. At the bar. Great choice. Excellent burgers, fish tacos and a spicy chicken to die for. Great beer selection, mine was Odins son. Loved the place. Coming back for the music.
Counter order and they bring your food to your table. Serve your own water, etc. Food was ok but wings were good. Our friends arrived early and was able to grab us a table near their live music stage. Really cute outdoor patio.

This place looks great and the food looks awesome.Absolutely only 1 star though because we never got to experience it. Last night we couldnt eat there because they didnt post their kitchen hours anywhere. The hours posted were closed at 11. We pulled up at 9-9:05 and were told the kitchen had closed at 845. On a Friday night.Next day. We called and got through to order for pickup. We werent ready so we said wed call back in 5 minutes.We called THE SAME NUMBER back for 15 minutes and not only did no one pick up but the phone rang 6 times and then we get a Verizon messages that said it was disconnected. THE SAME NUMBER. Let me repeat that we called the SAME NUMBER. They must have taken the phone off the hook.The only silver lining was they got none of our money and I pray this review tells people to never try takeout at this place.

Ambiance is nice and relaxing especially with the live music. For those with little ones it took about 1 hour for our food to come partially because there was a large table before us which made it difficult with our two kids. Then the food came out cold. Nice ambiance ok food/serviceUpdate: owner was very accommodating and told us a fryer went out hence the long times. He gave us a gift card to come back and said it wasn’t normally like this.

The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich had just the right amount of heat and good crunch and came with large tasty fries. They have a great selection of beers on tap as well as multiple choices for wine. Sideyard is pet friendly.

What a great place to hang out and chill with friends or make new ones! Jake and his local beer selection are amazing. The space was well planned and executed from the door to the back patio. Limited menu at the taphouse but lots of options I’ve yet to try at the attached market but everything looks pretty tasty. Been looking for a place like this around here for a while and this hits the mark. A few growing pains with regard to service that I’m sure will be ironed out as they have just opened. Great job so far guys. Can’t wait to return!
Stopped in for lunch. Very nice atmosphere. We started with the brussel sprouts. I had the fish tacos and my son had the hamburger. Everything was delicious. Decent beer selection. Service was exceptional.
The chicken sandwich is to die for. I love everyone who works there. They are always so sweet and thoughtful when it comes to our kids. I love the atmosphere and friendly faces when going there. I def found my new spot. Not to mention my next door neighbors. My 4 year old is obsessed with finding Millie the cow in the deli connected to side yard, when we take walks we’ll stop by or just to get out of the house. The only downside I can say is they don’t have a changing table for babies as I have a 4 month old and could have def used one when she had a blowout at dinner of all times tmi I know but it’s the life 😂 I was respectful and changed her in the stroller in the parking lot which would have prob be easier to go home and back. But other than that I def highly recommend this place. What a great way to meet all your neighbors, grab some drinks and bomb food. ❤️

Great food and drinks, but lost a star when I saw the bartender scoop up ice with an actual glass. There should only ever be plastic in an ice bucket/well since if a glass chipped it blends with ice and could be served to a customer.

2023-10-10 20:06:26We visited late Saturday afternoon and easily found seating for our party of six, including a baby stroller. Its a delightful spot with a unique charm and delicious food. You place your order at the bar, and they promptly bring it to your table.Both my lady and I opted for the burger, and we were absolutely delighted with our choice. The burger had that perfect smash style, nestled on a perfectly toasted bun. We each ordered a side of tots, but soon realized that it was a generous portion, and we ended up sharing with the table.The staff was friendly, and parking was a breeze. However, the only drawback was the presence of a significant number of flies, which was a bit of an annoyance.

2023-09-11 16:51:33It was really hot to sit outside, there were fans but that wasn’t enough. There was a cooler conditioning fan but it needs water, it sat empty. The food was not bad, I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. The wine was a good deal, $5 from the bottles that was opened the previous day. The eating area was nice and quaint. But it was hard to enjoy the food when it was so hot. There were flies everywhere.

2023-09-25 21:13:29The meatball sliders, burger, and pretzel were really good! The aesthetic of the patio was modern and fresh. Definitely want to go back to try more of the menu!The fish tacos didn’t come with lime and batter was bland, but adding salsa helped. The carne asada tacos didn’t have a good grill on the meat so it tasted more like stewed beef. Soda refills were awkward as they required getting in line at the bar because there’s no self service or table service.Without the table top fly swatter fan device, the flies would have been intolerable. Definitely ask for one!There’s not a lot of restaurants in the area and even though there were some aspects that we didn’t like, overall we were excited to visit again

I got their Cluck Norris sandwich and it was perfectly crispy, crunchy with pickles and cabbage slaw, and spicy with a bit of cool down from ranch dressing. We also ordered a side of truffle fries and they were the most perfect fries Ive had in a long time. The owner was super friendly and the restaurant had a cool vibe. Well definitely go back!

2023-10-04 20:01:39Had a great time here watching Thursday night football with some of the guys at the bar. Whole place was packed but comfortable. Decent selection of beers and food was very good. Only issue sitting at the bar is flies buzzing around the open air area. Other than that its a fun little spot out in the sticks that I recommend you try out if your within 10 miles. Worth the adventure.

2023-03-04 01:17:24Went here for lunch because of the reviews. It did not disappoint. Love the ambiance and self serve of water and condiments. You order at the bar and they give you a number. It’s open seating and they allow pups on the patio. A little expensive but the food was worth it!
