Great service from Josh at the bar. Hes got that great bartender personality that makes him feel like an old friend.The Chicken Wings were amazingly crispy, tasty, and that Bleu cheese dip was the REAL stuff. I would absolutely recommend this.The Lamb Sliders were also great. The meat itself was very tender, flavorful, and the buns held up to the juiciness. The real unexpected hero here was the fresh made Fresno hot sauce. Amazing!

What a joyful evening. Sidecar menu was full of delicious items. We went through most of the starters since they were all so interesting. The cheese and meat charcuterie was rich and delightful that we ordered a second one. The service was amazing.

Great little place in LG for dinner and cocktails. Came here on Sunday and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food they serve as I was just expecting some nice cocktails and bar food. We had the charcuterie plate and chicken wings for appetizers and both were great. The wings were well seasoned (not hot wings, but their own spices) and were tender and juicy. I had the mushrooms and truffle pasta which was amazing! So many mushrooms! Hubby had the burger ( surprise! It came with two patties). Everything was great! Ambiance, service and price. Will defiantly come back.

Generally trying to do too many things with both food and drink in the name of fusion. Nothing was that good.The people are really nice and no one got sick from eating there. The quality and taste of the food was just not as promised. Our waitress said the ribs were fabulous and fall off the bone. They were chewy and definitely did not. She raved about their famous cocktails, we tried four different kinds and they were all a mess-- too many competing ingredients and flavor profiles. We shared half the menu and ate everything, but didnt love any of it.

All the plates were delicious. I would have preferred if the shrimp was shell off but it was still very good. The cauliflower came with a really good sauce and spices. The black cod smelled fishy but tasted great. The cinnamon butter cocktail was delicious but almost a dessert. The waitress was super friendly. Loved the old school rap.

The staff here is exceptionally accommodating, and the food and cocktails are both exceptional. I am a recovering cocktail snob, and theirs are good enough to stand up to many cocktail bars. The atmosphere is charming and welcoming and they are welcoming of dogs on the outside patio and bring bowls of water for your pup.

We went in for dinner. We didnt have any reservations, just decided to walk in. The lady in front was friendly and told us there was a wait and asked if wed like to sit by the bar and when a table is available shell transfer us and we agreed to sit at the bar. The bartender welcomed us with a smile and took our order. They have a variety of drinks from the tap to different cocktails. The food is actually delicious and its not your typical menu. Few minutes later our hostess came back and didnt forget the table that was promised. She transfered us and gave us a choice of indoor or outdoor sitting. We chose the outdoor since the weather was really nice. Very friendly and accommodating staff here. I would recommend it. Parking is street so would have to drive around a few time to get a spot but its worth it. Definitely will put this in my go to place to dine and have a good drink. Place is really cozy. Thumbs up.

The most alluring feature of this spot is the ambience. It feels very hip and speak easy-ish. Beyond that, its lack Lustre. The service was very thin and we had to go to the bar a couple of times for service. The bartender didnt seem happy about that. The food read very well on the menu and was plated VERY well, but fell flat on flavor. The dishes we had were under-seasoned, but pretty. The drinks were good, as the bartender had some mixology skills. Overall, parking was scarce, reservations were required, and the $127 for 2 diners-price, was not parallel to the experience. Ill pass on a second date.

Great ambiance.. so happy to have a tavern in the neighborhood again.The food was delicious.. tried the sliders and cauliflower. The drinks we tried were on the sweeter side, and maybe not that great with the dinner, but better for post dinner drinks.Not sure what the Playlist was yet had going, but music was also awesome and added to the ambiance.

This was our first visit. Our server Adam was Amazing and had so many recommendations that did not disappoint! We fell in love with the chill vibe, the overall atmosphere was so laid back. We love all the local, fresh ingredients. Definitely highly recommend for a casual outing or date night! Can’t wait to go back!!!

We went for the first and second time in one day (brunch and returned for dinner). We absolutely loved the place. The food, the drinks, the staff... all the stars possible. The mixologists were very talented and made us great off the menu drinks based on our preferences and taste. Thats always fun. My favourite dish was the lamb shoulder poutine. It was phenomenal. We will be back. Often.

I will be returning here very soon! First of all, Im not big on chicken wings and I seriously had the best ones of my life! No sauce needed, they are that flavorful. The decor, the people and setting is inviting. If you love fries, have them here also, because they are seasoned to perfection. Delicious cocktails, and a very welcoming staff. Its really hard to walk away and not have made a new friend or set this place as a new local favorite. Highly recommend this place for a date, or girls night. Very cozy, cute and lovely atmosphere. We got some drinks and a brownie. The brownie came totally raw. It was literally a puddle. We asked a server if that was normal and he said that it was, so we shrugged and assumed it was just their take on it.The table next to us also got a brownie and theirs came out cooked. It had corners and height. It was an actual square, unlike the puddle of liquid that we got.We let someone know, and they were gracious enough to take it off the bill, which we appreciated. However, he then tried to convince us that it was so liquidy because it was overcooked. Thats.... Not how baking works.Mistakes happen. Thats totally acceptable. But multiple employees blatantly lying about it is a problem.The drinks were good, and the raw brownie batter actually tasted fine. I just cant stand being lied to

Cute place in downtown Los Gatos. Their dishes are small, almost like a tasting menu. There were four girls in our party and each dish was about one serving each. Their cocktails were really good with lots of variety. The staff was super friendly!

We came here after quite a brutal 16mile hike. Food was great, ambiance was nice, our waitress was attentive and helpful. We had the Japanese Fries, Octopus Tostada, Thai Chilli Red Snapper, and Butterscotch pudding for dessert. Oh and quite a few beers (mind ya they aint pints). I do think the drinks are kinda pricey, $5 for lemonade, but everything else fabulous.

Didnt have the food but had several cocktails between me and my girlfriend. All of them were really delicious, well balanced with fun garnishes. The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating. I bought the kitchen a round of beers and I highly recommend doing so because us industry folk dont need much and a beer goes a long way after a busy shift of striving for excellence. Go here. Walked in without reservation on a Friday night and lucked into 2 bar seats. Place filled up almost immediately, bustling with locals. Drinks served quickly by friendly bartenders and food came out of the kitchen quickly and hot.I had the drink highway 17 to santa cruz a twist on a daiquiri which was delicious, and the trout, which was plate-lickingly good. Topped off with house fries and banana fritter, we were full and pleased with everything. Will make sure to reserve next time!

Id give 4.6 stars if I could. Service is super- friendly, fantastic. Cocktails are great! Food was slightly disappointing. Brussels needed more vinaigrette, cauliflower was pretty flavorless, shrimp sauce was delicious, but shell-on situation made them too messy. Minor tweaks would make this a truly 5-star experience. I love the atmosphere and truly the friendly service will have me going back for (at least) cocktails/mocktails. So dont misinterpret this review - its a fab place.

Don’t go here. It’s mine-all mine and here’s why…the entire dining experience (dinner-I m told they have a delicious brunch on weekends with devine bloody mary’s)-cocktails, food, staff and ambiance is great. You can share plates along most of the menu which include prawns, cauliflower and chicken wings with Point Reyes bleu cheese dip. There’s usually a seafood and beef menu item too. Cocktails are craft made by a bartender(s) who can mix the menu items or a special request. Staff has always been friendly and attentive. The place is cozy, usually dimly lit, music to match the mood with a mix of outside and inside dining. There’s a few seats at the bar too. Make reservations days in advance for the best chance of getting in on the weekends. Parking is a snap anywhere along the public streets.

Sidecar is an absolute staple of Los Gatos! We have been customers of theirs for years now.We love their brunch, eclectic dinner menu + fabulous speciality drinks. We also LOVE LOVE LOVE the Sidecar team, who are like family.We are at Sidecar at least once a week. As a lifelong Los Gatos native and business owner whos been through both the good and bad (2008-2010) times... I wanted to call attention to two of our favorite restaurants in town.My wife and I have been going to Sidecar since before the pandemic. Weve never had anything but an amazing time... great atmosphere, awesome food and ridiculously good drinks! In addition, their Sunday brunch is one of our absolute favorites in town. We even went so far as to have our post wedding party after Testarossa there and it was the highlight of the night!More recently, weve started doing dinners at their sister restaurant Epernay about once a week. Closest thing to the menu at Nicks (which we sadly lost during the pandemic). They have, arguably, the best filet in town and Im pretty sure its under $50. Not to mention, the best steamed mussels and French onion soup on earth and a killer selection of wine. We tried their brunch last Sunday and the omelette was epic, as were the four pear Bellinis ;)I mention these two spots purely because I remember how few places there were in town to enjoy when Los Gatos struggled through that 2008-2010 period and also during Covid. I mentioned Nicks earlier because frankly, it was a punch to the gut to see them go. While I certainly have no crystal ball, we both live in town and seeing a lot of places not as busy as usual, I wanted to throw out a gentle reminder to support those few places we rely on to enjoy our time out with family and friends. These two just happen to be our favorite and wanted to share that with the rest of you who may, or may not yet had the opportunity to try.

Really great place for dinner with friends! We went and just ordered a ton of meals for the table. We absolutely over-ordered so I would recommend slowing down and then ordering more if you need but we were 6 people and got way too much food.The menu was different from what we had seen from other reviews and pictures so just go with an open mind and not expecting to eat anything that you would see on the menu. The Kale salad was so-so nothing special. Everyone died over how good the lamb burgers were. I loved the Halibut special, tender and tasty. The fries were great and the fingerling potatoes fabulous.Drinks were amazing too! It is pricey so go in expecting that but worth it! Service was great too.

Excellent and unique cocktails that are seamlessly paired with delicious food. I tried the Mother of Dragons mezcal-based cocktail, as well as the Calabrian Chilli Paloma, both of which were perfectly balanced and flavorful. For the food, our table tried almost everything, and was particularly enthusiastic about the Avocado, Octopus Tostada, and the Steak & Bone Marrow. The menu looks fantastic on paper. But the dishes were all on the bland side. The chicharrones were good but the spice had little character. The charcuterie was good but, other than the mustard, was unremarkable. The octopus was on top of something (avocado?) and underneath something else but neither the octopus nor what is paired with shone. The crispy fried cauliflower was not fried crispy but was just cauliflower crispy and, while it tasted like cauliflower, wasnt something I wanted again. The shrimp were quite interesting and, if you like the garlic and shells (I do), were delicious. The potatoes were also quite good. And I did love the bone marrow, served with stir fried bean sprouts - it might have been the best dish. The lamb sliders were not sliced of lamb but were more like chopped beef and were on the mushy side.The Santa Cruz mountain tempranillo was an excellent drinking wine.While the service was charming and personable, we should have been warned about the portions. Small plates were not small and we ordered too much.

That being said, the food was good too, I had the vegan pad Thai special but added shrimp.The only downside was I felt the limited menu was all over the place and it was hard to find something I wanted to eat.I would recommend checking the menu and making sure there is something you want, if there is, I am sure they will knock it out of the park.

What a great little spot in a great little town. Los Gatos has many gems, but Sidecar shines brighter for me. Their mixologist never disappoints and the New York steak with bone marrow bone is not only delicious but by far the best deal in town! I find myself there pretty much every week and always have a great time. I highly suggest giving them a try if you havent already.

Went there last weekend to taste the food as well as procure the restaurant for a July wedding party. The food was simply put very delicious. The atmosphere inside was just what you would expect from a good hometown establishment. However the staff and owner was amazing. Its like weve been customers for ever. The delightful personalities were very assuring that that my son & daughter in-law had discovered a gem. The perfect spot to celebrate the beginning of the rest of their life together. We stumbled across this gem of a restaurant on a Californian road trip. As British guests in California everything is expensive so I’ll concentrate on the fabulous food and service on offer in this relaxed eaterie. We shared a cheese and charcuterie board and followed it up with the king of fish (turbot obviously!) plain grilled with burnt lemon and a herb butter and the stand out dish, roasted cauliflower with tahini cream and chopped pistachio crust. Wowzer we loved it all. Compliments to the chef. A meal to remember.

Very well done! My wife and I found some time off from evening work, and not having to ferry kids around basketball/soccer, and went to have some cocktails and small bites on a Tuesday evening. Home run! Excellent drinks, great service, and delicious bites. As we come out of COVID, we realize this is what we have been missing. Giving 5 stars for a great experience, super nice service. Excellent cocktails, tasty food. But mostly, all the people were so relaxed, friendly and hospitable. We had no reservations and they were booked. I jokingly asked them to just drop another table with two chairs out front, and they actually did. We were sitting within two minutes. When my drink took a little longer than my wifes glass of wine, they brought me a wine sample so I could toast with it. When one food item took a while to make, they brought us two flutes with champagne to make up for it.Nice inside, too. Great bar and launch area. Will go back for sure.

Very, very rarely can you find a place where the clientele ranges from ages 4 to 84 and theyre all enjoying the food and atmosphere. The service was excellent - extremely knowledgeable and attentive, and the food was excellent - bar menu on steroids. The libation menu alone was off the charts. If I lived in Los Gatos, Id be there on a weekly basis. Thank goodness there are still restaurants in the area which are focused on the diner experience rather than getting another diner to your table.

We had an amazing meal here in early December. I have shellfish allergy and they were able to accommodate. We ordered the carrot & pear salad (husband polished off even though he usually hates salad), fried fingerling potatoes omg delicious - definitely would order again, prime n.y. strip was tender and flavourful. Even though that was enough food we ordered dessert. Hubby had the special banana dessert and I had the brownie - yes we ate it all. Drinks were wonderful and Adam our waiter was outstanding. There is a chefs vegan special or many veggie side options to choose from. We did try the vegan special and it was a good size portion of grains and roasted veggies. This establishment is hands down the best place in Los Gatos. It combines superb mixology with top notch yet understated food in an unforgettable manner that it truly unique. Even their french fries are memorable whether you get them with or without their excellent seasoning. Some of the cocktails involve real smoke--not something you see every day. Their steak is one of the only preparations that I would tolerate being sliced before serving; its beyond good and better than many of the high end steakhouses I frequent all over the country. And finally when you think youve had enough theres a decadent brownie with vanilla ice cream that is so simple yet divine.

This fabulous place brings a smile to my face every time I go. You will find amazing and attentive service, fabulous food and the most outstanding drinks you can find. The decor is quite eclectic and elegant. Conversation pieces galore. Adam and Josh do a great job of making people feel welcome and celebrated. When you are there here is a couple of quick suggestions to try: The Crispy Cauliflower is to die for, once that tahini sauce touches your tongue it is over. You will not want to share. My absolute favorite is the lamb sliders, absolutely great flavor with a nice spicy kick in the pants that you should absolutely enjoy with a smoky passion. Then whatever the special desert is I would get that too and finish it with a gorgeous espresso martini. That is all I got for now. Have a blast!

Menu is a mix of Spanish, French, and American cuisine.Service is friendly and prompt, water glasses were refilled quickly.The large plates are definitely shareable, but portions are more similar to tapas. If 2 people are dining Id recommend getting at least 2 apps and 3 large plates to share.Drinks are well made. More items were deep fried than I had expected so be prepared for fried deliciousness.

The food was great, the drinks were good, and the people and atmosphere were phenomenal. They really did a great job of setting a tone for the place that is super inclusive. There were a wide variety of people in there and most were talking to each other. Ages ranged from mid twenties to eighties and everyone was having a great time. This was my first time sitting down at a restaurant since the pandemic started to get served. Sidecar was a good choice for this. The warm octopus tostada was interesting but the big hit for me was the pulled lamb sliders. See the photos. Friendly and polite staff with face masks. Nice little sidewalk seating. A delightful evening. It feels like a local restaurant that is classy, friendly and appealing. The menu had great choices and I am happy to see it will change often. Potato and Leek is my go to and this has incredible flavor. Service was exceptional and this will be the place I suggest to out of town visitors that come to visit.

Wow. The cocktails are complex and intense. Four vegan options - the potato and leek soup with picked carrots was incredible. The jalapeno cucumber salad was hot, spicy and perfectly crunchy. We will be back!

I absolutely love Sidecar. The Chiccarones are so good, to name one thing of many delicious foods and drinks they have. You also have to try their brunch menu, the Elvis waffle is to die for. I’m completely convinced this restaurant will become a Los Gatos favorite.
