Since I ate Rockin’s Roe in Um Ma in San Francisco, I am the fun for fish roe rices.It’s good to know Silla also has its version of fish roe rice. It is called Colorful fish roe and eel rice.Came to this place today and it did not disappointed me. Yummy!Comparing it with the one in Um Ma, this one has eel on it. Eel is also my favorite fish so it definitely adds value. Also because of the eel, the quantity of fish roe is less than the one in Um Ma.The pork tacos are also highly recommended. It tasted even better than the one in the Mexico restaurant.

Worst Korean restaurant that I tried in South Bay area. Not sure how this restaurant received its accolade. By modern Korean cuisine, they meant like its instant food from the supermarket, plus adding a few pieces of gnocchi to their food. Food was bad and not value for money. Paid $26 for a miserable bowl of tteok-bokki which generously included 2 thin slices of hotdog and some fishcake, and tasted like it came out of an instant pack. Beef soup also tasted instant, rice was stale. Even banchan was bad consistent with other reviews You have to wait minutes to sit, since no one is at the entrance or the reception. I just dont anything good to say about the restaurant. Ill definitely be staying away. Plenty of better Korean restaurants to spend my money on. Be warned.

Good vibes and nice staff. I liked the food too (fish roe and eel rice), it was both delicious and colorful but it was burnt at the bottom of the dolsot and the portion was a bit smaller than what I expected.

The bibimbop was the best Ive had. The rice was so crunchy. We also got the special cold bean noodles in a creamy cashew tofu sauce. It would have been too bland on most cold winter days, but was a perfect reset for us since wed been eating heavy food the past two days in summer weather.

EDIT: Ive had the opportunity to try more items since my last visits:- Black bean noodles- Honey garlic bossamThe staff is still pretty limited, but Im super happy to see more customers trying this place out! The chef/owner (? Idk) recommended the jajang mian to us and told us it was an elevated version of the typical dish youd find at other restaurants. I generally like this dish, so I was definitely excited to try it. He also mentioned that they were still considering whether or not to have it on the menu permanently, so he was looking for feedback.It did not disappoint! Chewy udon noodles, a small kick of spiciness, tender pieces of pork, plump pieces of shrimp, and fat chunks of squid made it an awesome experience.This was my first time trying bossam and it was pretty much what I expected. Pretty healthy while indulgent! I think Ill skip the honey garlic sauce next time, since the base sauce is already enough for me!==========They are understaffed, so ring the bell when you come in if you want to be helped. Dont stand awkwardly or wander around, use the bell on the front desk!Ive been here twice and tried the following:- Seafood pancake- Galbi Tang (grr carrots)- LA Galbi- Spicy Pork- GalbijjimThe ban chan here is not my favorite, but their potato salad is really good with bits of pasta for texture. I wish the galbi tang didnt have carrots, but thats just me bc I am a child. The galbijjim has super tender beef, but its not as buttery soft as the LA Galbi.The staff is quite nice and will answer questions that you might have. The food here is really good and Im sure once covid is over, theyll be able to expand their staff and there will be a huge wait, so try them now while theyre not as busy!😤

The servers were very fast, kind and efficient. I was very pleased with the service. The jook was absolutely delicious in terms of consistency and flavor, I was really happy that I ordered it. The bibambap was also well prepared and overall I had a great experience here. The A/C was a bit cold in the spot where we sat, but the combination of the hot food and getting used to it made it not an issue.

One of the best Korean food I have had! The seafood pancake is amazing - crispy and crunchy on the outside but soft and moist inside and you can definitely taste the yummy seafood. Got the tofu soup which was thick and flavorful - though it did come with half a crab in the shell so be prepared for that to get messy. Eel rice was good though wasabi roe was a little weird.

We came in here 15 minutes before closing and they still let us in! Really a huge kudos to the kitchen staff for being so accommodating. We had no wait for a party of 6.Food: I got the beef bibambap and found that the amount of food was overwhelming and it was really nice to get a nice sizzle on the rice and a slight burn and the beef was super juicy and tasty! The appetizers were average but unlimited!Service: Definitely stellar service and we were checked in on a lot and had our tea refilled many times!Ambiance: Nicer casual restaurant, good ambiance for catching up and relatively quiet!Overall had a great experience and happy to get our Korean craving satisfied!

Bright, clean interiors. Nice variety of banchan. The potato salad was my favorite! I shared the Spicy Kabocha Galbi Jjim with one other person. Not too spicy and had really tender beef. Only downside is that it is a bit on the pricey side but you do get what you pay for.

The WORST Korean restaurant I have ever had in Bay Area!When we walked in the restaurant, there is a customer complaining to the owner they forgot to prepare her take-out order, and she had nothing to eat for dinner. That should have been our first red flag! But we missed it.Then after we sit down, it took the owner a while to give us some water and took our order. That should have been our second red flag but we missed again. And when my dad pick up the napkin, a GIANT BUG was crawling beneath it! That totally freaked me out and made me concern about the cleanness about the restaurant and food. I wanted to walk out but since we already put down the order, I felt bad to do so. But then, when I try to move my plate, ANOTHER BUG crawled out!!! That is definitely a sign of a restaurant being not proper cleaned and could result in health issue!Again, we stayed for dinner just because the owner said they already started preparing food. And we changed to another table. However, when the food came up, we ordered four items but only three was made. Waitress was not writing down my order but memorizing them. And when I complained to the owner he said it would take another 15 minutes to get the fourth item because they are busy with preparing delivery food orders.It was a horrible dining experience. I will for sure never visit again. Santa Claras Korean restaurant scene has always been good, with all the high quality food and environment. I honestly dont know how this restaurant is survived here, very disappointed.

A seemingly limited menu, not sure if its just because of their soft opening but they have everything you would want. Good portion sizes and very reasonable prices. Their small dishes are good, their kitchen was working out the kinks on some dishes and so some people went a long time without food, but the staff was apologetic to the table next to us. I would go back for sure, hope they keep their quality and their service up.

Have gotten takeout a couple of times in the last few weeks. Ordered on their website. The LA short ribs platter looks very impressive but actually I prefer the taste of the spicy pork bulgogi. Galbi Tang and Seafood Tofu Stew were quite good too. Banchan is decent except the japchae was a little dried out.

Lovely service; the chef came out several times personally to check on our meal. Our waiter was relatively attentive and refilled side dishes and beverages briskly.Tteokbokki was only so-so, will likely try a pajun next time.Galbi jjim was delicious though; loved how they cut the beef to get more sauce on the surfaces. Tendon pieces were unexpected, but flavorful.Galbi sauce was great consistency and went well with the purple rice. Would have appreciated more quantity though.Outdoor dining is not recommended for a date night. Area is a little noisy, boarded-up apartment windows are visible, and the fence may need some mending.

Can’t believe the store owner told me to not be upset because it’s Mother’s Day. Returning customer very disappointed by the service. Came for a pickup order and a woman straightly told me it was cancelled, then asked me to wait extra 15 min. It’s totally understandable that restaurants can be busy and I chose to cancel and asked when I would get the email confirming the cancellation (because of the woman telling me the unexpected cancel). Then a man came and told me “don’t be upset it’s Mother’s Day”. What does this have to do with mothers day and why should I care? Do you do special promo events on Mother’s Day or what? You’re a guy how can you patronize me a woman on Mother’s Day? So absurd.

We went there on Saturday for dinner, and the restaurant was empty, which didnt give us a good sign, but why not just try once? No one greeted me or served us until we rang a bell(?) at the reception.We got these dishes:- Teppan Chajang Noodle(Kangnam style): Aka black noodles in other Korean restaurants. Sadly, not authentic but Americanized enough for my American friends.- Garlic Bossam: the portion was small compared to the price.- Bibimbap: Perhaps we liked this dish the most. The stone pot kept the food warm, which was good. Nicely seasoned vegetables were a plus++- Seafood tofu stew: As this restaurant is called a modern restaurant, this dish fits that theme the most. Literally modernized Korean soup. Not spicy.The chef/owner came by our table occasionally to check on us, which was nice and tried to explain why the dish was named after or what the dish was about. We got stuffed at the end, but the taste could be better to fit the price.

My friend told me about this place and said there was really good ciopinno here, so that was the only thing I got here!I came here on a Thursday night with a friend, around 7pm. I feel like there were less than 20 people there. the dining area has some booths and some tables set up. We got seated in a booth right away. they said we could order via the QR code, but I think since it was so slow, they still came up and asked us our order.We got the ciopinno to split between the both of us, soju, and a beer. They brought over banchan per person (portions of banchan on a plate per person), and some hot tea. banchan was some fish cake, bean spouts, japchae, mash potato, kale and pickled radish.The chef brought the ciopinno over and was explained how to set it up. He brought over an external burner and placed the pot of ciopinno on top. It was already heated up, but he said to let it sit for another 3-5 minutes right before it is boiling so eat. Then can shut off it is too hot. It felt like he cared a lot about his cooking and making sure his guests like it too!The ciopinno was delicious and was filled with clams, mussels, fish, squid and udon. The broth/sauce was tomato-ey and had a little bit of gochujang spicy taste! I wish there were more ways I could slurp it up. The chef came by and also brought us some purple rice to go with the ciopinno.One ciopinno was enough for two people. We wished we could have tried more things!As for interior, I felt like half of the restaurant (main room) gave off a quiet nice weeknight dinner, and the other half (a separate room) gave off a very pocha k vibe, with soju and neon signs at the doorway. I can see it getting loud and drunkish vibes, which is not a bad thing!Parking lot is big enough for the establishment, but its pretty hard to find this spot! It does not really have a sign to show you the parking lot or the restaurant, you have to just kinda use your google/Apple Maps to guide you into the correct lot! and even then.... I wasnt sure I was going to the correct place because there wasnt a sign at the door either!

The quality of food they serve does not justify the prices they charge. Pricing wise it’s similar to Jang Su Jang. They are also very understaffed. The restaurant was at most 30% full but service was slow and lackluster.It seems like most of the good reviews propping up the rating are from years ago. I don’t know if management has changed or what but the pictures look nothing like the dishes they serve now. The menu is also very different from the pictures posted here.The bossam was especially bad. The radish wraps were bitter (under-marinated) and the pork was oddly tough and had skin. Old reviews showed oysters were served in addition to the pork, now it only comes with pork.Maybe their other dishes are better but I don’t think the service and pricing justifies giving this place another try.

Ordered Galbi Jjim. Price is similar to Daeho but the taste is horrible. Everything was cooked separately then added to the same pot shortly before serving. Don’t know why this place gets so many good reviews. There are barely anyone in the restaurant. Please go to Tobang or Kunjip, where you can find more Koreans dining there and much better Korean food.

Two friends and I were starving and went here for outside dining on a Saturday evening. This place did not disappoint!!! There was only one table outside on the back patio so I recommend calling ahead to make sure they can accommodate you and be prepared to do takeout.The seafood scallion pancakes were delicious and great for sharing. Entrees have great portions and if you get service there, you might get free appetizers (kimchi, radish, small scoop of mashed potatoes, glass noodles). I will say the ambiance is not the best since the patio is kind of in the parking lot but the food more than makes up for it. Enjoy!

This was first time coming here and we totally loved the food and service. The owner was really helpful and opened to give us recommendations. We tried Better than Cioppino BTS and were very satisfied. The dish was rich in flavor, generous portion with plenty of seafood and beef tendons. The owner added in tteokbokki for us and we enjoyed the dish so much. Also they had delicious side dishes, especially the mashed potato (the best I ever had). This spot is on our list now and will come back more to enjoy all the dishes on menu.

The food here is really delicious and the environment is also really clean. People better make a reservation first before coming. It is crowded and the waiter is really busy even barely have time to sign up for walking in people. I recommend the beef rib soup. It is awesome. For the bossam, I actually think it is too expensive. It is also delicious but the size is too small for that cost. Over all, I will still recommend this place for those who want to have a delicious Korean food. I will definitely go there again.

They just made one portion and divided to two small container and selling as a BOGO and price was unbelievably high. very poor packaging, tastes, presentation was awful. I strongly recommend to go Churngdam or 10 Buchers if you want Korean food. This is not the place you want to spend money.

This is my second time coming here and Im reminded again why I didnt like it in the first place.First time I came, they burnt my korean pancake and their service was so slow. But their galbi was pretty okay.I came back because there was nowhere else to eat and the service is slow as always. They added tomatoes in my kimchi stew and called it a fusion? I dont think Silla is a fusion restaurant. The stew and galbi are really really salty and my mackarel came late so my mom had to wait for me to finish eating (it was only two mackarel pieces I dont know why it took so long). The mackarel was salty too and rubbery.Their banchan (side dishes) were stale.I did tell the owner and he said he changed the recipe a little and will check back on it and apologized.Overall, I think the food is overpriced and its too salty to eat.

Spicy squid with pork is great, good kick. Napa cabbage Kim Chee is my favorite, wife likes the radish Kim Chee. Bibimbap is also good. The corn with mayo (we asked to hold the cheese sauce) that came with the grilled chicken and grilled beef dishes were a little strange for me. Im not accustomed to having mayo without bread. Will be back again to try more of the menu, next time will have the Mrs drive, I want to try their wine offering and see how it pairs with the food.

Today I ordered LA Short Ribs, Tiger Chicken and Kalbi Tang. The meals are all very delicious. Perhaps because of the epidemic, although it was noon on the weekend, there were still no customers.
