Between two of us, we shared a pork ramen noodle, a shrimp roll, and a karaage chicken. All were very good, although I thought the price of the ramen was high ($16) and skimpy (2 small pieces) on the pork. Set up of the dining area was a combo of booths and some table and chairs.

There was a high hype so I wanted to try it so bad. Disappointed...The ramen was average at best. The broth wasnt rich in flavor, it was pretty bland and they didnt have any rolls. The service was ok, we had to call the waiter multiple times to remind her of whatever we had asked for (utensils, drinks, napkins) and there wasnt even a lot of people. For the price and the hype it was a no for me. Especially around Monterey Park where you can find better and richer-flavor ramen. Maybe Ill give it a try at the og location...

Im a silverlake ramen fan and im so happy they finally opened in MP. ive been waiting so long! im craving for very spicy food. so my go-to menu is Shoyu on Fire medium spicy with chicken as a protein option. you can choose one protein among chicken, pork chashu and tofu on the ramen. i love their fried dumplings and chicken karaage so much as an appetizer.the servers were attentive and i love the vibe here; very energetic, modern, clean and neat.they were soft open when i visit, now theyre fully opened so ill definitely be back for lunch!

Food is great and Sapporo on draft! The staff is great, too. If you want a table, you may have to wait, however, you can usually skip right to the bar and eat there instead.Be careful with the Spicy Chicken Bun! I love heat, but this one still kicked my a$$! 🥵🌶️

First time here, brought my son who loves ramens. And it was just good. Wed like to go back and try other versions of ramens. They had limited sushi rolls which we didnt try. And the gyoza which came with a creamy red sauce which was good.

Been here a few times for both dine-in and take-out. Food is alright. They still need a bit more time to catch up with their Silverlake location.My biggest complaint is that they do not allow call in order. You literally have to be there to order take-out food, and the cooking time/waiting time is very long. I understand that this is not a fast food store, but they could do so much better by allowing customers to call in to place the order.Last time I went, had to wait closed to 40 minutes for 2 rice bowls at around 2 pm (not busy inside). The ones who got there after me but dine-in, got their food first. So, I had time to look around and see a fly staring at me 😂

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! This was my second time going and I once again had a great time. I went with a party of 6 people but got seated right away. The service was amazing even though there were only a few servers. They were constantly checking up on us and served our food fast. I ordered the Blaze Ramen and Chicken Karaage and they were delicious. Definitely recommend Sliverlake Ramen if you are looking for a nice place to eat dinner and eat good food with a nice atmosphere!!

I had the original tonkatsu ramen and I did enjoy the broth and noodles, but kinda wished the chasu was a little bit softer. The gyoza that came with our combos also had the same sauce as the karaage for some reason, which I assume was a mistake since there was gyoza sauce on the table. Overall though, its nice to have the option of a silver lake ramen closer to home

The Classic Ramen and Tsukemen Dipping Noodles was not our jam. It was off. Maybe gotta come back in a month or more after they fine tune their broth more. We loved the original location but this place just looks like a whole different place to vibe... Including taste and menu offerings. No more crispy tuna sushi. Broths look good and kinda taste good but didnt feel complete. Maybe its become a generic okay brand now? Everything has taste and texture but seems to be missing something from both. Wonder if maybe rice bowls might be a better choice?

Only reason I came here was to avoid eating Chipotle. The shopping center can be a bit of a headache traffic wise. The ramen here is usually delicious but the service is slow and the ambience is a bit crowded for my liking. I waited over 30 minutes for one bowl of ramen, and it was a to go order. Unfortunately when I finally did get my order I realized the portions do not look as great as those being served to dine in customers. I ordered the truffle ramen with chicken and am disappointed in the 3 slices of chicken that topped it. Highly recommend not ordering out and just dining in.

Great food, great service as always. My bf and I first tried Silverlake Ramen in Silverlake and are happy that this one opened, which is much closer to us and definitely has better parking situation than Silverlake location.

My wife and I enjoy very much ramen we have travel long distance for a good bowl of ramen we travel all over especially Little Toyko the searching for good bowl of ramen. When my wife told they are opening a ramen restaurant in South Pasadena but biggest surprise was from well know ramen restaurant Silverlake Ramen founded in L.A. and spead all over including the Orange county.I told my wife lets go to Silverlake Ramen and try it out. We went there to try it out it open on Monday it soft sale it mean it not ready yet its getting there to full operation. We got seated right away then host hand us the menu then have a good ramen selection and items like appetizers,rice bowls and plant base meals. They also have rolls they were not ready yet. We were looking at the menu then decided what to order. We both order the combo and choice style of ramen we decided get the Classic Tonkotsu and choice of side my wife pick the edamame and I the crispy chicken karaage and we order our drinks.The restaurant look very shiek with street look with a modern touch and the atmosphere everybody is have a nice time enjoying the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant we both enjoy it. They brought the edamame and chicken karaage we both go the edamame it tasted really good it was warm and right amount of salt that make the edamame delicious. We both love the chicken karaage it was tender and juicy and breaded was good and sauce was good but dipping in the sauce add more flavors in chicken karaage ad it more flavor.The waitess brought the Tonkotsu bowls they were steaming hot. One taste it was incredible good so much flavors like the broth it was light and full of flavor that why the broth cook many house to make perfection. The pork belly was incredible tender falls apart that Tonkotsu a perfect bowl of flavors. My wife enjoy very much we need to come back again with friends and family to Silverlake Ramen. The staff was incredible good they were very friendly professional.

My family and I decided to eat at this location to celebrate my husband birthday. My husband wanted to try a new Ramen location for his birthday.It was our first and last time we will be visiting this location. Bad service since the time you walk in. They take forever to assist you. We Walked out, due to bad service. The waiter dropped our drinks on my husband with out even apologizing. We didnt even get to try the food. Server who cleaned up the mess was rude as well. Was upset cause he had to clean the spill and rudely asked to move so he can clean the spill. Didnt even offer to reseat us at a different table. Not even an excuse me. I do not recommend this location for family who are there to celebrate any occasion. Ambiance feels awkward from the moment you walk it. Very unwelcoming compared to many Ramen shops Ive been to.

Im a big Silverlake Fan, but the new location in Monterey Park will not be the on I will be visiting any time soon.This is my second review. I came back because my wife wanted to come. 2nd visit was better than the 1st. Im changing the review from 2 to 5 stars. No issues on todays visit.

I found a lady bug in my classic Ramen. They supposedly will refund my money in 7 to 10 days! I am not going back. First time trying it out what a disappointment 😞. Customer Service was not the best from managers. I will not be a repeat customer.

I overheard a waitress loudly complaining to her coworkers about another customer regarding a miscommunication while they were still at the restaurant. It made us feel uncomfortable, and we could see it on the customers face that they were uncomfortable. Even when the customer apologized profusely for the trouble, the girl still complained about the customer behind the counter. The food isnt as great as the original location, the ramen was kind of bland, so overall, this experience wasnt a good one. I wouldnt recommend this location at all.

This place was put forward by a friend to me this morning I came in to try it, everyone was very respectful and polite but a colleague named Wayne stood out to me the most, let me tell you he was courteous and patient and he took pride in what he did!! You don’t find that in many jobholders, he had the right frame of mind and he made sure my food was good, just the simplest things like how a person could treat you could have a big significance on the rest of your day.!!

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice and a great place to bring you family and friends. The workers are all polite and fast to respond. Food is average but their service is terrible. Want your karaage or gyoza to eat with the ramen? Nope, itll arrive to your table after you have finished your ramen. Want a refill for your water? Wait till the check arrives so you can ask for a refill. Overall bad service for mediocre ramen.

I’ve been going to the Silver Ramen in Silverlake for 8 years and the broth at the Monterey Park location is incredibly watered down in comparison yet i’m still paying the same amount of money. Please make the broth the same across restaurants or don’t charge the same expensive price

I signed up for a table with a party of two, only to be called and tried to be seated by the bar. Nothing against being by the bar, but when your sign in sheet has the choice between bar and table and you chose table, why would you even try that? The place was swamped when we arrived at 6:30 ish. They had about 5 servers, 4 running the floor and 1 doing nothing. The entire time I was there there was a table sitting empty. So I dont understand why they were trying to seat us at bar. The food was great shout out to the kitchen staff! I know youre 2 different crews. The servers definitely need better training, dont ask if the bar ok when we specifically asked to get seated. Shout out to the waitress despite everything you were 👍. Keep up the good work.

Note: Still in the soft opening phaseIm not sure how long it has been open, but we were excited to finally see it open.The Food: The highlight was the karaage it was the best part of the meal. The pork bun was tasty, but at the same time disappointing for me because the bun was cold. I had the blazing ramen, to which the broth felt as if it was missing something, and my wife had the mapo tofu, which was different. The lagest issue we had was the overuse or heavy handedness of the green onions, to the point it seemed to be the star of every dish. It took over, flavor wise, everything.Service: All staff were very nice and were doing their best. Its still a soft opening, and they should not be penalized for the minor chaos.Atmosphere: It was great and as expected for a modern american ramen place. Theyve done it right for the space they have. They did think ahead and blacked out the windows as the sun could be punishing in that area.My recommendations: order the karaage chicken and ask for the green onion on the side, and remember it is a soft opening.

Appetizer was above average but the ramen was shameful. Ordered the garlic truffle but it had no taste whatsoever. The ramen was all stick together if it was made a while back and just added broth onto it. The service was below average as well. Seen a few staffers just strolling around talking to each other instead of helping customers and there were quite a fews customer that was waiting for tables that wasnt clean yet as again, the staffer were just talking to each other.

I wouldnt recommend this location at all. The tonkatsu soup is too sweet and REALLY light.... It tastes water down. The tsukemen dipping soup has the same problem, way too sweet, bonito flakes are added in to achieve a complex flavor but it doesnt work with that weird sweetness at all. The best dish we had that night is probably the karaage, at least its crunchy.

I came here with my boyfriend yesterday (a Sunday) and it was a lot of people waiting but the good thing that at the most we just waited 15 minutes to get seated. We got seated at the bar, the waitress was friendly, and the other staff was polite as well. My boyfriend ordered the Shayu with chicken, I ordered the garlic truffle ramen with pork, and we ordered the karage for appetizer. Everything was delicious, the garlic truffle ramen had a thick but delicious broth, the shayu had that chicken soup homey taste, and the karage was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The restaurant inside has good lighting, they have this cool neon sign that says “Slurping allowed” and I believe there was music playing I wouldn’t be sure since there was a group with a guy being kinda loud. Other than that we had a wonderful first time experience there, we’ll definitely come back.
