Wonderful campsite accommodations for large groups, but its 1:35 AM and the campsite nearby is still loudly partying. I wish there were some means of enforcing the 10 PM mandatory quiet hours.
We went to with family and we boros bite and I never drove boat before but it was so easy and fun and so easy as nd so laugh because so exacting I love it so we went again next day...it was biger lake then what u seeing..us your go 4th peoples rent boat is $35 per hour but after that $5 per houre in weekday. So 4mmfor 4 eoples only $10 er each and enter oed car parking $10
One of the nicer local campsites. The people at the gate this time around were infinitely more customer oriented. They have rules and they abide by them. There’s nothing more I could ask for. (Last time, they gave the spot I reserved to someone else) (At the San Onofre location, they did the same thing as well)... This time, however, they kept my spot for me and they were very helpful helping me find a spot for my friend that was on his way.**Tip** even if you don’t need hookups, for $10 more a night, you get a quieter campsite location, better class of people, and toilet seats in the bathrooms!
I camped the $10 hike and bike for a night. It was not too far from the water. They had fire pits and tables. I couldnt find any electrical outlets to recharge some gear, not even in the bathrooms. Some of the RV sites have electrical outlets so I checked it out but the outlets had a block in them and I couldnt plug in. Not a big deal. Still a nice place. There is some history to the place thats interesting. There is a old city under that lake.
Beautiful area. Sadly, it had blue-green algae that was toxic so it was treated & the treament chemicals are still toxic. Will kill your dogs if they drink it. Fishing OK, but any water on any skin or fish must be rinsed off. Lots of big families in tents having fun (wish they didnt play their music.) Spaces in the full hook-up area are close together, but tenting areas are larger. Great place to spend some time when lake isnt tainted!

Quiet and relaxing. A nice little getaway from the city. We stayed here one weekend and aside from the drunken ladies blaring their music down the way no complaints. The sites are little small if you have a trailer, also the hookups are set in a spot that is a bit odd.
This is a great place first time here and cant wait tcome back.
Camped for a few days on the weekend,rented an RV camp group as the other regular camp sites were closed but worked out perfect,helped to have the electric outlet. The ranger camp through all the time which helped with too much noise after quiet time and the they always had the garbage empty and bathrooms fully stocked. Everyone was super friendly especially staff,store was helpful and had a truck come through late selling items,for us helped with ice and snacks. Definitely no complaints what so ever. Will be returning. Thanks guys for a wonderful experience.
Many sites to choose from, but visit it once and youll be able to choose an upgraded one the next time. Fishing and water sports available. There is also a small tackle store that has some camping essentials. A bit pricey, but worth it if you forget to properly pack. The young lady that ran it during our visit was extremely accommodating and we never felt rushed or ignored. When we purchased everything we needed and some snacks we didnt, we realized we were in the store past their hours of operation.
We love this place. Weve been coming for 4 years already and its definitely worth the drive. Our family really enjoys being outdoors and enjoying the beautiful nature. I definitely recommend this place.
Absolutely horrendous. $40 is way overpriced. One shower produce no hot water the other was like standing under a fire hydrant with extremely high water pressure. Very windy. Sad to see such a rundown place.
Rangers are very accommodating. I did not feel comfortable in the space I chose and she moved me. Thank you!

Seriously? This place is a scam!They charge you 45 bucks a night for what?Showers- no lights! To have a shower be ready to spend your hard earned and let me tell you - quarters only and it is 4 bucks or so for 2 mins! What is wrong with you people???!!Restroom - no lights! And lucky you are they don’t charge you for the flush or toilet paper.Besides that, the garbage is everywhere.I prefer to stay out of the truck stops and rest areas whenever it is possible when I travel, and this time I was too tired to look for an overnight. Little I knew…. I have better kept driving. This is a huge disappointment and a shame for that place. Stay away!
Great swimming so fun nice place showers clean bathroom
Always well maintained and not too crowded now. Definitely recommend going during the week! Porta potties on our side of the lake were clean and not stinky at all. Its a great place to canoe, paddleboard and swim,The only problem is people leaving their trash and fishing lines and hooks all over the banks. One of the kids found a fishing hook, and my dog kept getting tangled in the excess fishing line that some jerk left,so be careful where you step if youre not on the beach!

First time camping here. We actually got a good spot for booking online. I believe site 8. It was a bit rocky but the spot was large and had brush surrounding for privacy.The trails were amazing and had very few people walking them. Mostly paved trail, and at least one was marked for wheelchair access.The lake was nice and cool and they offer boat rentals. The beach was nice but unfortunately there was litter and some dog poop.There are 2 small stores. We only found one by boat dock, the other seemed closed down. I would suggest bringing all provisions as the shop only carries few necessary item and only allows 3 people at time due to covid.Things Id suggest, bring LOTS of bug spray, tarps for shade as most tent spots have limited shade, and fully charged battery packs (couldnt find outlets), quarters for shower.Youll have fun listening to coyotes calling and playing at night, and owls hooting.

Silverwood Lake, normally, is a great place for family camping. I know it seems like Im going towards the negative, however, Im going to stay more on the positive side because our family truly loves this place and we camp there often. First and foremost, Silverwood Lake is a great structured place for family oriented camping. The sites are decently sized, some better the others, and they have clean bathrooms with hot showers. Secondly, and somewhat my small bit of contention, Silverwood Lake is part of California State Parks system and, therefore, usually patrolled by Park Police. I have tremendous respect for all law enforcement, however, they were somewhat non-existent for our recent camping trip? Moreover, we were serenaded with horrific loud music until the wee hours of the morning and urinating drunk beyond drunk campers milling about the campsites. I know, because of the pandemic, staffing may be reduced, however, the safety and well being of camping patrons should not be overlooked. I will still go camping there because my family thoroughly loves it and we want you and your families to love it, too. One very minor incident will not detract me from one of the best family camping treasures CA. has to offer. Thanks for your time. Jason.

A perfect example of Gods power and love!! I love this place!! Very relaxing!! If you are placed at campsite 44 or 45 there is a bad bee problem but other than that the river is huge and so much fun!! The restrooms at the campsites is always so neat and clean. There are showers available for $2.00 in quarters there is one that is only fifty cents. Very quiet wonderful place to enjoy what God has blessed us with!!

Camp in overnight, you can grill. Sites have a picnic table. It has about six restrooms and about 3-4 coin operated showers from where we reserved our lots.Campsite is about 3-7 min drive to the lake, depending on which side of the lake you chose

We had a great time at the campground, it was pretty quiet and private. Not sure why someone said the sites are too close together, we didnt have this issue. The only issue we had was that Silverwood lake was overrun by toxic algae during the time we were there which made fishing impossible but more so than that it STUNK. It was gross. Couldnt even walk along the shore without your feet sinking down into the gross algae. Yuck.
There is a lot of trash flying around because it is windy, trash ends up in the lake and all around the campsites. Bathrooms and showers are well kept and clean. Doesn’t seem like anyone regulates quiet hours, 10pm-6am is what’s is posted but a group was being loud till 2am.
If you dont like your camping spot they will give you a new one, the spots are private for the most part and its so beautiful. There are also real bathrooms and a shower for 2.00 for four minutes which isnt bad for those who have to shower while camping.
Great experience for family of all ages. Just be courteous of other campers. Clean when you get there, so clean your area before you leave. Take lots of quarters for showers.
The only reason why I didnt give this five stars is because you have to drive down to launch your boat at the ramp I usually go during the week never a problem getting a spot even without reservations on weekends it is very crowded if you are coming on weekends would recommend making reservations even for launching a boat they do have a limit on how many bolts they allow on the lake other than that plenty of spots good fishing great times will be returning one of our favorite places just to get out for a couple nights and relax
It was fun, but it was so crowded.. and the campsites are super close together.. there were people walking through our campsite all night.. no personal space and noisy all night. Tried to rent a boat next morning at 6 a.m. and they were already all gone! Crazy weekend!
Fine camping, but the sites are all right next to each other. Not much privacy. Would rather camp in San Bernardino National Forest at Dogwood.All the Silverwood Staff are great and we felt safe with the Rangers around.
RVer here.The main roadway, 138 off the 15, is a mostly one lane slightly inclined and winding in places. Take your time and at speeds you are comfortable with. The 25mpg curve sign isnt lying. There is a gas station half way up that had cheaper gas then the exit on the 15. There is also the only restaurant we saw, Silverwood Sushi and Grill, a Sushi-Japanese fusion-Korean BBQ place just up the road from the gas station. Looked popular, wish we had stopped.The good:The entrance to the park is staffed, at least the weekend I was there, until 9pm, which is nice for a change. Wood can be purchased either at the entrance, or there is a mobile store with an Ice Cream sounding music that goes around late afternoon with wood and any camping supply you can think of, and yes, they have ice cream.We dry camped as the hook up spots were all taken. The spot we picked (47) was pretty private, although not all of the dry spots looked like that. We did drive by the hook up spots and noticed there wasnt much room for those. The dry camping spots were much larger.There is a RV dump with fresh water for RV dry campers.There is a path (bike path?) that leads down to the marina not far away. It goes through a picnic area with tables, bbq grills, bathrooms, and a stream. The road was closed off to that area for some reason so it was mostly empty when we went. Kids had a great time playing in the stream and it felt fairly secluded. It might not when the road to parking in that area is open. The marina has a small store where you can buy water, snacks, beer, essentials. You can rent boats, Kayaks, and possibly fishing equipment? No real food to be had though.The bad:The weekend we went, and from other reviews on google that included most weekends, was a party weekend. Ranchera music was blasted all day long, every day. It switched to modern rock around 6pm, which was nice, but that went until 11pm. The next day, we got battling Ranchera from two different sides, both being blasted. I like music as much as the next guy, but I would be def if I listened to it that loud at my camp all day long.The staff do not patrol the camp or enforce any rules that I have noticed. I did see them clean camp spots after ppl left and clean the bathrooms. Other than that its a free for all. The cops did drive through the second night and I noticed that the music got quieter after for about 15 minutes and then blasted again, so someone must have called them?There is a nature is also a nature center that, but it was closed and looked empty while we were there.No free wifi by us, but our Tmobile LTE signal was surprisingly great!
We use to camp here back in the 90s and early 2000s and it was cool. Decided to give it a go after all these years and it was OK. The sites for the most part were clean and no trash. The restrooms & showers were clean except on a Sun morning there was no hot water in the shower (#s 85-90) which sucked as our site was hella dusty. Also, the flies were out in force! I mean they straight ate us up! Bring plenty fly swatters, fly traps, and long pants/shirts as these damn flies are relentless. The shore fishing wasnt good either as all we caught were 2 small stripers and a trout. Were gonna head up to the Sequioas for our next camping/fishing adventure.
Get outside and enjoy mother nature. ♡ Lake Silverwood is the perfect place for that. Facilities are well kept and camp grounds are clean and maintained. Swimming, fishing, biking, hiking its all here!
Great place good for hiking, camping and the lake is nice too. 10$ for parking. But the best part has got to be that THEY HAVE SERVICE FOR YOU PHONE!
This is a nice lake, most camping sites are decent with shade, they keep up the area well, the lake this year is lower, due to water shortages, some algae, but still a nice getaway.
Its clean and nearby, but still gives the feeling of getting away. There are dozens of sites to choose from, especially if you go on the off season. Cal Trans or DOT is working on replacing the old, curvy road, so itll be a SUPER easy drive next time!
Very nice campground. Lots of beautiful trees and wildflowers.A short hike down to the lake, there are trailheads leading to great spots that begin in campground. Very quiet and secluded during midweek.
Enjoyed a night out camping here. Nearby anemities. Sucked that the spaces were to close to others & the showers only take coins. But other than that very peacful nice scenic campground. I recommend going on a ealk on the trails or riding your bike on the cycle trails too.
Excellent campsite! Clean 🚻 and shower (Token needed for shower). Lots of fishing and water activities. Nice and calm to relax. Make sure to keep warm during this time of the year.

It has everything. Water, BBQs, tent camping & hook up camping. Boat launch & swimming areas. There are showers as well. Its also one of very few camp grounds open year round.
It is a beautiful place to hang out with friends/family durning the summer. The water is nice and cool. It is nice and peaceful. I would go in summer when it is warm or hot.
If you are pulling a 30 ft trailer with a long bed, it will be extremely difficult to back in. Came in the winter with a quite crowd. Nice walk to the lake.

The lake was closed, and they were renovating the restrooms and showers. But every thing else was great. Very clean, very safe.

2023-11-08 21:37:17Would think $45 is pricey for a no-hookup site but you have to look at what you get. Great location, dumpsters and restrooms galore, showers, lake access, small store with fishing/camping supplies and food, great staff and rangers, beautiful scenery, many trails, boat ramps, fishing, boat rentals, (seasonal I think) One of the park staff stopped by. I asked if store had propane bottles for my Buddy heater. Said thought so but said hed go get some he had in storage. I ended up finding mine so I said pass them on. Nice gesture though. I WILL be back. Stayed in spot #87. Camp was empty. Stayed 2 weekdays. Early Nov 23. Feel free to use pics as you wish.

2023-07-18 15:08:05Such a great relaxing campsite. Spaces are very well shaded. Rv sites have light outlets, firepits, tables, and park rangers always patrolling the sites. People working here are very nice as well. Will definitely come back! Note: people, please pick up after yourself. We saw so much trash left in trails and campsites. Water was refreshing as well!

2023-06-18 21:01:21Was a great weekend at the Silverwood lake! We went with the camping van and rented a parking spot with a small area to ourselves. Was plenty of room for us and the kids 😁. The area could use a little more trash pick up but nothing too crazy. Good spot for a night or 2 away.

2022-06-16 19:16:56Great hidden gem. I never heard of the Silverwood before camping here this week. Clean and quiet campsites. Plenty of space and trees between your neighbors. $45 a night for full hookups E/W/S is a great deal. The lake was warm and refreshing with the hot temps during the day. It does cools down nicely at night. Great walking trails all around the lake. Be prepared for flies and heat during the summer. Overall a really enjoyable time.

2022-08-31 04:07:39Fun place to bring the family to camp and fish. Nice spacious campgrounds although your neighbors are right next to you. The hike to the water is far so unless you plan on walking up and down a hill for 30 minutes then I suggest you drive. They have a store on site for little things, Ice, and firewood. The bathrooms were clean and showers worked (bring quarters to use shower). Lots of bees and ants so bring raid.

2022-05-15 16:54:38Decent campground that allows did online reservations. Its very near the actual lake, so thats nice. There are multiple loops from which to choose. The campsites are frequently used by hikers who are doing the entire Pacific Crest Trail, so expect to see a lot of backpackers when youre here. They have showers that cost $.50 per minute, and if you go in the water, youll want to use them.

2020-09-12 20:33:30Wonderful campsites! Went on the lake with a canoe and boat with oars, rowed over to one of the little beaches and it was literally covered in trash. Did two plus hours of trash clean up between the four of us. Took as much as we could haul back on our little boat and inner tube. I just dont understand why people think its okay to trash such a beautiful place. People really need to respect mother nature and always Leave no Trace!! Saw a bobcat that was amazing! Other than the trash issue, it was a great place! We will definitely go back❣️

2023-06-20 20:50:55Decent campground. Most of the sites in the old mesa side have 10-15 tall bushes and trees providing separation between you and the adjacent site. These bushes do mean that there is no view of the lake though. Our site was fairly large and probably could have fit 4+ tents. Other sites looked like there would maybe be room for 2. On Sat. evening the bathrooms were in pretty rough shape. The floors were wet and the TP was gone. The showers were slightly above average for a state campground. We drove to Cleghorn Beach each day to hang out by the water. That was a much better option that hiking down a hill while carrying all the beach gear. The day use areas get packed quickly, so plan accordingly.
