2023-06-20 06:22:40Price = $~15-20 pp / Service = above average / Cleanliness = above average / Vibe & interior = casual, wooden Asian street / Parking = midsize lotOrdered 1 app and 2 entrees from the traditional menu est. total cost around ~$58 pre-tip. Now, I do not know how traditional Indonesian food looks like but supposedly the entrees that I ordered are two plastic traditional versions. Both of them were a more fancy version of rice dishes. However, what an array of different flavors and mixes of what seems to be traditional sides and additions of Indonesian food.Lets start with the the Roti Paratha appetizer... The thinness of the spread like food created such a crispy texture but a slight thinner soft clouds within the inner pieces of the bread. Then, you have the curry sauce that adds such a pleasure of soft and smooth curry flavor to it. Keep in mind that Indonesian curry is not for most people might think of curry. This curry is like a milky, saucy curry that blends in a sweet and smooth flavor. Job well done Simpang! Now the entrees...Nasi Bunkus & Nasi Kuning (festival rice). If youre looking for an experience to taste Indonesian cuisine, these two are highly recommended if you want to add rice dishes to your portfolio. Both felt somewhat similar and an array of mixing additions of different meats, nuts, noodles, etc. Highly recommend both for an experience! The Nasi Kuning had a number of popular Indonesian dishes including chicken sate (satay), noodles, and beef rendang to name a few. Be prepared for a full belly of a good mix between protein and carbs! The restaurant almost gives you a feeling that you are on an Asian street food area. Obviously, you are indoors and there is a very casual, wooden type of environment which common for many traditional Asian restaurants.

2022-12-05 00:02:39Wow this place is great! Indonesian is such a delicious quinine and not nearly as common as other Asian food. The presentation of the food is just as good as it tastes. We’re literally about to go back for a second night in a row because our food was so yummy last night. All the photos are half eaten cause we were so hungry.

2023-11-30 20:29:08The food is always delicious. This has been my regular spot for a while. My only complaint: no tempeh on the menu. This I find peculiar since tempeh is traditional Indonesian food and a better meat substitute than tofu (Chinese origin).

2023-04-04 03:33:16Had the thin rice noodle dish—Bihun Goreng—delicious flavor😋I also had the Mie Tek Tek—don’t recommend it—felt heavy and lacked flavor.Food can be oily so ask for less oil if desired.Vegetarian and vegan options are available🌱Restaurant seemed clean, comfortable, and brightly lit.Shame that the manager on duty was picking his nose in front of everyone🤢

2021-10-12 05:41:53Lots of vegetarian options! This is Asian cuisine, strong influences of Indonesian, somewhat Malaysian. I loved the cauliflower and the roti canai personally but pretty much everything was great. They do customize but they did mess up my order a tiny bit - egg and tofu was in everything, for eg. but I am the fussy one. I didn’t care about the dessert much but I admit I ordered a few rounds of the roti canai. Pretty good…Def visit.

2022-06-11 18:13:08Get the meat! It’s a huge portion though, even shared, we both took home leftovers and I added veggies and made 3 meals out of it hahaI wouldn’t repeat the festival rice (not my fave). I’d probably go with the meat and then a straight veggie plate. The cauliflower was bomb! Good appetizer. We were coming off of paddleboarding and starving and overcommitted but the prices are so good and we had quite a bit of leftovers.Great service and attention. I’ll be back!

2022-09-18 16:00:07Spicy and sweet, what a wonderful combination! Must get the Char Kway Teow flat noodles which were the star of the show. Noodles were perfectly chewy and it just had so much flavor at just a medium spicy. The calamari is crispy and light. The roti is super flaky. The #8 Nasi Bungus is spicy even at a medium and the Rames is good too
