Absolutely the best Korean BBQ I have ever had. The quality of the meats is outstanding. Everything is so fresh and grilling over real mesquite coals adds so much flavor. And great wine pairings with New Zealand small family wines.

I haven’t been to this KBBQ spot in over 6-7yrs and they use to have a salad bar but now they removed it and added more tables. The price went up but so has the quality of their food and honestly there are no comparable AYCE KBBQ spots in the vicinity that you get to cook over charcoal. Also they never changed or upgraded their ventilation system so you will end up smelling like smoke when you leave.Let’s start with the service, I came here with my friend and as we came in we weren’t greeted or acknowledged on what to do or where to wait so we just sat down with the other party of two in the waiting area. A little confusing with no sign up on the waitlist or anything. We came on Monday night at around 730 and waited about 15 minutes to be seated for a party of 2. Once seated they place a fresh hot charcoal grill at your table and take your order, I think there were two servers for the whole restaurant on a Monday night but service wasn’t slow but sometimes it was difficult to flag down someone. Now let’s get to the food. When you get to your table there is already a plate with 9 different bon chon which I liked 7/9 of them(the mac salad and the beans I didn’t like). My friend ordered the tofu soup with medium spice and he said it had a kick and the flavor was okay but it was weird to me because normally tofu soup is red in color but this one was not. The best side we got was definitely the steamed egg casserole, most kbbq places overcook it and it gets all bubbly and the texture is bad but not this place, they cook theirs to perfection where the texture is nice and soft like a soufflé, absolutely a must order. We tried all the beef options and they stay true to their name because Kalbi is 👑 here, their cut is nice and thick and not overly fatty, when cooked it retains its thickness but is still very tender and the marinade is not too sweet. My second favorite is the bulgolgi, good amount of beef flavor that is not drowned out by an overly sweet marinade and beef is tender. Third is a toss up between what’s normally my go-to the brisket and the rib meat, both were decent. Last is the butchers cut, it wasn’t bad but it just wasn’t anything special. I would come back to try the other kinds of meat and seafood next time.

SK is awesome! We enjoyed their all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ $45 a lot. We tried all their meats. Surprisingly, their wagyu selection wasnt our favorite. The miso pork belly won out. The wood charcoal grill made a difference. It enhanced the flavor of the meats. Service was excellent. They changed our grill at least three times. Drinks were great. We had soju and two bottles of beers. Great job staff at SK Korean BBQ.

We have never been to this KBBQ spot before and was surprised by their quality of their food/meats here. This was also unique than most KBBQ places as you get to cook over charcoal. We came on Sunday night at around 730 and waited about 5 minutes to be seated for a party of 3. When we came in we were greeted within 3 mins in the waiting area. Once seated they placed a fresh hot charcoal grill at your table and started taking our orders. The severs came back to check on us between each order as well and were super friendly. Our group requested more sliced garlic to make veggie wraps and the servers came back with a super generous serving of garlic.Their banchan plate had 9 different side dishes which were all amazing! My friend ordered the steamed egg and the texture is silky and soft and very flavorful. We tried all of their beef options and pork belly as well as the squid for the charcoal grill. Their Wagyu options and marinated Kalbi were a hit with our group. 10/10 will come back again!

We visited SK Seoul Kalbi Korean BBQ in San Bruno for their all-you-can-eat option, attracted by the unique feature of using real wood charcoal for cooking. However, our experience was a mix of positives and negatives that resulted in an overall average rating. On the positive side, the use of real wood charcoal for the BBQ did provide a distinctive flavor to the dishes. The authenticity of the cooking method was appreciated, and the taste of the food was generally satisfying.Unfortunately, there were several downsides that affected our dining experience. The main issue was the slow heating process of the charcoal. We found ourselves waiting for extended periods for the coal to reach the optimal temperature for cooking. This waiting time significantly impacted the flow of the meal and left us feeling impatient.Furthermore, the excessive smoke produced by the real wood charcoal was not adequately managed by the fume hood. The smoke filled the restaurant quickly, causing discomfort for everyone at our table. We experienced teary eyes and coughing, which significantly detracted from the enjoyment of the meal.Additionally, the size of the grill provided for our group of eight was insufficient. It made it challenging to cook all the food efficiently, resulting in more waiting time and further disruptions to the dining experience.Overall, our experience at SK Seoul Kalbi Korean BBQ in San Bruno was less than satisfactory. The prolonged waiting times, discomfort from the excessive smoke, and inadequate grill size negatively impacted our enjoyment of the meal. While the authentic taste from the real wood charcoal was a positive aspect, the overall experience fell short of expectations.

I come here for the real charcoal KBBQ flavor experience since its illegal to use real charcoal in the East Bay. The cuts of meat are good quality and the charcoal burns for the duration of the 2 hour limit. My co-workers come here and order a bunch, a bunch of Kalbi and wagyu briskets and we havent had any issues. The cuts of Kalbi are thick and tender and marinated perfectly. The staff swings by really often giving us more chances to order more meat. Prices are really good for the AYCE but I wish the grill was a little larger as we can usually order 3 Kalbi at a time and itll pretty much max out the grill. The staff are friendly and quick.. it gets really smokey in the place so, dont plan to go out to a club after. Go to spot for short ribs and charcoal kbbq

One of the o my charcoal Kbbq restaurants! $45 AYCE (no a la carte option). Meat was good - namely kalbi, brisket, and miso pork belly. Banchan decent. The staff was very friendly, and they are responding to these reviews. They care a lot about the smokiness now and how quickly they bring you more meat. Overall a great experience.

Came here for dinner on a weekend night - had a little trouble finding the place as it’s along El Camino and hard to spot if driving. Took a while to find parking as well. Thankfully made a reservation as they were turning away walk-ins. Did not realize it was all you can eat but it’s all worth it. Dining time is more or less limited to 1.5 hours which is enough for 3-4 rounds of orders (limited to 4 meats per order). Some of the non meat dishes were sold out by 9 pm. Really liked the charcoal taste but it can get real smoky. Overall very good experience.

Good place in the peninsula for kbbq especially if you like charcoal bbq! It’s on the pricier side at $45 per person. There is street parking and they also take reservations.I recommend all of their wagyu cuts and the kalbi - really good flavor and you can see the marbling on the meat. Their tofu soup is a bit bland and their pork belly is sliced too thin. Also would not recommend spicy bulgogi - the sauce is more of a tomato based sauce which was really unexpected, and it was not spicy at all.The air circulation doesn’t seem to be great as the smoke isn’t being sucked out very quickly. There were many times where I felt like our table was engulfed in smoke.
