Great pizza! Crust: Sturdy, crispy, and with a slight chew. We had the spicy sausage pizza, sorry I cant remember the name, but it was delicious. And its not overloaded with toppings which can make the crust soggy. For us, it was perfect for two people. But if you are a big eater, you might want your own. Its in a popular location right across the street from any shops and galleries.

Absolutely incredible pizza with fresh, high quality ingredients. As a New Yorker taking a trip into the dessert, my expectations were low. But boy was I blown away by the complex flavors, chewy fresh bread and adorable setting. Do not skip this place if you’re looking for pizza in Joshua Tree!!

You dont want to pass on this pizza. While in jtree with my lawyer I found this place on Google. It sounded good, so we decided to stop by. The pizza surprised us both by how good it was, big thanks to the staff for helping us figure out all the options. The pizzas are all handmade and the ingredients taste so fresh and flavorful.

Had dinner here and was so excited by the wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. I was able to have a vegetarian pepperoni pizza, which I haven’t had in YEARS. The cheese was melty, the crust was crisp and perfect. They even had vegan cheese and gluten free options if you need them. I was shocked to find such a wide variety at such a small place. Definitely a must stop if you’re in the Joshua Tree area.

Big pizza loving family and wanted to try this place. It’s more a diner / cafe than a restaurant and didn’t have a lot of atmosphere. The breakfast pop-up window was such a pleasant surprise while waiting in the long line at the coffee shop! Quiche is so good and the fresh OJ hit the spot 👌👌 Get it before it’s gone, they close the breakfast window at noon! They have a super clean customer bathroom as well 🙏

The pizza is made with quality ingredients but it’s a bit too artsy for me. I had the five cheese pizza and the cheese bread (I like cheese). The cheese bread was good, but not cheesy enough.Also it was just really expensive and on the smaller side.

I’m so happy we found this place. Finding good pizza/food has been very hard for me since I moved to 29 but I’m glad we stopped in today. All of the food we ordered was delicious, the staff was very kind, and the house made tiramisu was so so so so good. the pizza was cooked perfectly and I really appreciate the fresh and yummy ingredients in the Greek salad. The restaurant is very clean and well kept.

I got the pesto and the cheesy marinara and they both fell flat. The former was dry, the latter had big gobs of sweet herbal ricotta that just didn’t fit. The dough wasn’t great just crunchy, not chewy at all. I’m sorry, I wanted to love it. Super cute inside, you know in the typical hipster fashion but none the less.Maybe we should’ve gone for the fancier $20 pies? Jerry made the best pizza I have ever had. The pizza was 100X better than what was here before. They have marble countertops and the lighting was perfect! This place is a relaxing and clean. We got the pepperoni with Roasted garlic, the cheese was fresh and we watched them prepare it and the sauce is made in house and not too acidic. The owner is local (which I always support) and they serve beer that’s made locally. Btw our pizza was 19 bucks and it was well worth it.

Vegan options of mozzarella, sausage, bacon, and pepperoni. There are no vegan pizzas on the menu, but you can sub with the above vegan options. Great for groups of 2-4 people, nice aesthetic inside, colors and lighting are modern. Pizza was good, I needed a bit more flavor on my margartia pizza with sausage and roasted garlic, maybe an acid like a balsamic drizzle. They have beer available.

This place was a great find. They had amazing service and were super friendly. You have to order at the front counter, but then they bring everything over to you. We tried the Diavola pizza and they Cheesy Garlic Bread and they were both phenomenal! The place was busy, but we didn’t wait too long for our food. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area.

I am a local joshua tree resident since the new owners took over it is just addicting ;the marinara sauce 🤤i now go 2x a week i love the staff they are all so accomadating the other restraunts should take note on how to treat the locals ;the owners daughter is just a doll💖 my dog and i walk over a few times a week and since hardly any dog friendly restraunts in JT it’s much appreciated ;a go to in the village just don’t take my table 💎

Decided to try the new pizza place in JT tonight. I ordered using the online ordering system which was easy to use. I tried the Rise n Shine which had an egg on it. The ingredients on the pizza were fresh and paired well together. I loved the addition of the oregano, but wished that the sausage was a little spicier. I definitely enjoyed the crust. It was flavorful and chewy. My husband ordered the Diavola. He enjoyed it but the crust was a little too chewy for him. He said it was definitely spicy but not too spicy and the toppings were well distributed. We ordered the pizza for pick up. Next time I do that with the Rise n Shine I need to add a note not to cut it as the yolk ran and I would have preferred to be able to dip my crust in it. Overall we were impressed.

“I would lay down my life for this pizza” - My girlfriend.But honestly, this pizza was amazing and hits the spot after a long day of hiking in the park. I would definitely return to this place over and over again. Only downside is the high prices as others mentioned. I recommend the Diavola with added arugula on top. The pineapple pizza was good too.

Pizza is ok. 100% not worth the prize. The only good one was the kbbq one but the sizes ruin everything.Also, they kept messing everyone’s orders up so make sure to check them before you leave with them… especially for the price you pay.We were there when the workers got into it and all the customers heard and saw. Pizza was great, vegan options, but $75 dollars for 2 pizzas & 2 beers… idk, felt like a bit much. The tables are kinda crowded (close to each other), you get seated with a number, then walk back to the counter to order once you’re ready. The system and atmosphere is a bit off for the price. But if you’re looking to splurge on a pizza, we did like it. It’s about $20+tax/tip per personal pizza.

Great pizza but they are sooooo rude! I call to place a to go order and they say they can’t take it over the phone go online. Ok, well I tried that and I can’t choose the gluten free option. So I try calling back but they hang up on me twice without even saying a word to me. Like what?!?? So I call on my husbands phone and they answer I explain what is going on and she was like ya just write in gluten free pay on there then when you come in we will charge you the extra 3 dollars. Ok. Wow. The only reason we still go here is because I am stuck in this desert for 2.5 weeks and have to eat gluten free and this is one of the only places that has gluten free.

In the dusty, sunburned wasteland of the town of Joshua Tree there is but one oasis - Sky High Pie - and their well-done Margherita with added sausage. Their lobster pizza literally saved my marriage. Ive eaten a lot of pizza in my 39 years and the quality here is excellent. Surprisingly, there are two excellent-quality pizza joints in this faraway corner of the high desert (the other being Two Guys Pies in the nearbye town of Yucca Valley) with Sky High Pie being my preference of the two. Check it out and ask about the weird guy who always buys bread.

Excellent sauce, gluten free crust, and vegan cheese. The gluten free crust is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The vegan cheese melts really nicely and doesnt coat your teeth. The pepperoni and sauce play really nicely together. The courtyard is really cute and relaxing. Watch out for the snow of coffee husks from the rostery next door! (apparently only happens once a week so no worries)

I dont write many reviews on here, but this experience was worthy of one. I would rate this higher than 5-stars if I could.Firstly, the pizza here is outstanding. I live in NYC and Ive had my fair share of great pizza, and this stands up to those great pizza places. While its not the NYC-style of pizza, its great on its own as a more classic, wood-fired oven pie. Everything from the dough to the ingredients are perfectly balanced and high quality. The first pizza I tried was the Margherita pie and added proscuitto, and it was amazing. I also tried the Diavola the next day, which is spicy, but very good.Secondly (and why I had pizza two days in a row), was because of the incredible generosity of Jason and the rest of the staff. I was in town for a friends wedding (small, 7-person group) with the ceremony held on a Tuesday. We were struggling to find a dinner restaurant for the evening of the wedding that not only would take reservations but was also open on Tuesday (many business in the area are closed on Tuesdays due to the exodus of tourists from the weekend). After speaking with the staff the day before the wedding to see if we could make a reservation, we learned Sky High Pie was also closed on Tuesday (sadface). However, Jason agreed to open the restaurant on the day they were closed, just for our wedding party. The experience was incredibly memorable, and one that our wedding party will never forget. And yes, Jason handmade everything for us, and it was just as amazing as the day before.I cant rate this restaurant highly enough, and if you have the chance to go when Jason is working, you will not be disappointed with the quality of the food and the service.

First time at sky high and it was a great experience. They remodeled the whole inside and it looks nice and clean. It was super convenient coming out of jtree park for dinner. We ordered the Aloha pizza which was really good! They added rosemary to it which I thought was a great addition to a classic. The pizza size is a slightly larger individual pizza so we each ordered our own pizza. The entire staff was super friendly while we were there. Would def come back next time we’re in jtree. My wife and I checked this place out last Saturday night during our trip to the park. It was the only place in town that did not have a crazy wait. You order first and then are seated. Unfortunately, they dont have a lot of space up in front near the cash register, so it got a bit cramped. Our table was nice but was in the middle of a walkway and we were asked to move our table twice to allow the staff to rearrange tables. We didnt mind it, but something to think about if you dont like cramped spaces. We got a Caesar salad, sausage pizza, and minestrone soup. The food was good (the soup was my favorite). Splitting a salad and pizza between two people is probably enough for a moderate meal. Both the soup and salad were served in to go containers, while the pizza was served on a plate (weird but not a big deal). I was impressed by their selection of beers on tap - I got a Coachella Blonde Ale. I got the vibe that the restaurant may have opened recently and staff were stressed but having a good time. My wife and I definitely felt towards the end that they wanted us to leave after being there for about 45 minutes, but we understand since they were super busy. The overall vibe was good. I would probably just come back outside of peak hours to have a more relaxing experience.

It smelled great and we were excited to try somewhere with a vegan option for me but there were a few things that couldve been improved. You order at the counter. With tip, it costs $60 for two 12 inch pizzas, which is just bonkers. They have limited dipping options, but I was happy that they offered me a balsamic glaze. We werent impressed by the flavor of either pizza (my boyfriends pizza was not vegan). Particularly the dough we were disappointed with. The vegan pepperoni and cheese was not great tasting. It definitely lacked that extra umph that we were anticipating. The wait staff was happy to answer any questions. Toilets are locked and shared with JT coffee next door. All in all, I probably wouldnt visit there again but its nice in a pinch.

We waited a long time for a pizza place in JT. Unfortunately, the pizza here is average at best. The staff is ok and they dont even seem like theyre from the area. Strange. The atmosphere is very sterile. The decor has absolutely no imagination to it, it just looks like any other place youd walk into in Los Angeles. Overall the pizza was a huge disappointment. Great pizza. We liked the crust, sauce and felt the toppings were good quality. Workers still learning the ropes, but they do a good job and are conscientious. Small (about 11 total tables, half of which are small 2 seaters). In warmer weather, theres outdoor areas in front and back. They only have 12 inch piizzas and a small selection of canned beer (no tap). Prices were a bit high, we felt.

I came in today around 11:30am with my 4 year old daughter and placed an order for a pepperoni pizza. We were offered to sit at the counter so my daughter could watch the chef make our pepperoni pizza. There was only one other table as they opened at 11am. The chef and the person who had seated us both struck up a friendly conversation and quickly asked her if she would like to make her own pizza. I was shocked and amazed at the offer and my daughter was thrilled. They quickly got a small piece of dough out for her and floured the counter we were sitting at. My daughter took over with enthusiasm and the chef guided her in rolling out and stretching the dough into a pizza crust. She was over the moon getting a pizza making lesson. While her crust didn’t wind up much different from the ball she started with, she had a blast and I got a great family video. They put her crust onto a peel and asked her if she wanted sauce (enthusiastic ”yes!”) and any toppings (“just cheese”) and they popped her creation into the pizza oven. I will never forget what they did for her. Talking with the chef he said he enjoyed doing this for kids because nobody did it for him when he was growing up and they designed the counter top with this idea in mind. I am sure they cannot do this for everyone, but I think showing up when they are not busy and asking to sit at the counter is your best chance.I chose this place as it seemed to be among the 4 restaurants with the best reputation and the pictures looked pretty good. Talking with the chef, they clearly take pride in their work and put love into the pizza. The sauce made with imported san Marzano tomatoes is tasty, and the oregano they use is quite tasty.I will certainly be back here if we come back to Joshua Tree!

Turns out sourdough crust is the bomb. Spent some time climbing in JT for our honeymoon & this was a favourite (they also threw in some cannoli on the house for us)I think they could create some more creative topping combination, but they’re pretty new still so the basics make sense.Recommend!
