Seafood tofu soup has lots of clams and oysters! Kalbi also really tender and they marinated to the right time. Not too sweet and not too salty. Tofu pancake it’s crispy and taste great too.

They serve Purple Rice! Last time I had purple rice was in Vancouver.Really great food, solid on the Korean sides. The tofu dishes come out boiling hot, literally boiling. and their medium spicy is spicy.The house specials are very popular.The place is very popular and I had to sit under a tent which was hot. Other than that, A+.

This place is pretty nice in south bay. Theres a parking lot for your cars. It gets busy during peak hours but usually you shouldnt have to wait too long.It seems pretty authentic (coming from a non Korean). Food is good, especially the seafood pancakes and the galbi. Definitely would want more of those. Serving size is pretty large too.Overall good stuff and very solid Korean restaurant!

The best tofu soup place. We always come back here whenever we visit the Bay Area. They have the best flavors for the soup (I mean it because I’ve had a lot of tofu soup) but also some of the worst services. But we keep coming back 😂 recommend the combination flavor.

Food is good, service is good . The variety and taste of the pre- meal mini dishes or ban chan was also enjoyable. Adequate dining area is perfect for groups, couples or eating alone. Up-beat atmosphere and plenty of parking. Ive been here a couple times in the past year and will definitely return.

Ordered the tofu ramen bowl and a side of rice. The platter was great expect I think noodles was a bad idea. Since it comes so hot they were over cooked and weren’t that good. There was something crunchy in the tofu stew I am not sure if it was good.VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY.Ordered again in the same week. Got a less spicy tofu stew with mushrooms. Sundubu jiggae essentially. I got some kimchi and rice cakes added which wasn’t a good idea in all fairness. The second time made me change my rating to 2.5 from 3 but google doesn’t allow for that.For the stew they pack less liquid but good be for the delivery leak. Got the sprouts too. No complaints it was fresh and basic as they should be. The japchae which comes in the platter was decent a little bit sweeter for my taste but overall good taste. I’m unlikely to order from here again or go in person. But it was there when I felt like Korean.

Best Korean food in the area at exceptional value for money prices. Servings are big so a seafood pancake, tofu soup and pork bulgogi are plenty for 3-4 people. Note that food can be quite spicy, especially the tofu soup. Make sure you arrive at least 45 mins before close time to be seated. Casual eatery to hung out with friends rather than a first date. Check it out!

Really good soon dubu! I got the mandu(dumpling) soon dubu and it was packed with flavor. It also had small rice cakes in it. Very cute. The stew came with an assortment of delectable banchans. We also got the tofu pancake which was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. However, the restaurant does not have ventilation(low oxygen) and can be a little stifling and claustrophobic. Getting a table outside would be the better option.

Have enough time at hand for this notoriously famous gem of a Korean restaurant. Dont expect flashy ambience or service. Also the food isnt cheap. But when you get the food on your plate, it all seems worth it. Their food is super authentic and delicious. Their complimentary appetizers are delish too! We like this Tofu house very much, it serves authentic Korean dishes, and we always order the Combination Tofu Soup and a Korean BBQ ribs. Their complementary appetizer dishes are very nice and can be refilled if you like a particular one or two, and they offer brown rice and white rice. We know the owner over 20 years ago, and he still come to greet us with a fist pump and big smile. Very family style! Highly recommended if you like Korean dishes. Cheers!😀😀

Had this place saved for a long time and finally got the chance to try it out. They have a pretty big parking lot, but there was a huge group of people waiting outside. As soon as I put my name down, the lady handed me a menu. After about 15-20 min, she asked what my group wanted to order and that we would be seated in another 5 minutes. Honestly, not that bad of a wait when I was almost deterred by the amount of people outside. Inside is pretty cramped as they definitely utilize all the space to fill tables. They also had a tent outside for outdoor seating. Their system is super efficient and almost as soon as we were seated our food began to come out. In addition to the various tofu stews, they also have more traditional korean cuisine, like spicy cold noodles. We also ordered the beef short ribs and bibimbap. The beef short ribs were cooked perfectly as they were tender and not chewy at all. The seafood pancake was nice and crispy with lots of fillings and not super doughy. I got the crab and clam tofu soup and they gave a whole half of a mini crab. Very tasty!! They also give a good variety of sides which is always a great sign at korean restaurants. I would highly recommend this place and can see why its so popular.

Food was great, I got a beef bimbimbap. There are a lot of sides for any dish. I love how the edge of the rice is crispy. It was really really hot though (temperature wise).You gotta wait a long time to eat it and be really careful not to touch the bowl for around 15 minutes after you got it. One small thing though is that the dining area is not well ventilated and stuffy, and it can get kinda hot.

Came with a party of 7 and was seated after waiting 20 minutes but got to place our orders before we even sat down, which was a plus.Service: The food came quickly since we ordered early, and the appetizers came pretty soon after we sat down!Food: I got the vegetable tofu soup, and found that the amount of food was perfect in combination with the purple rice and the appetizers that came with the meal. The tofu was nice and soft and the rice complemented the spice and the kick of the soup.Ambiance: Definitely a nice place to go with a group, we went for a friend’s birthday and found that the space was nice just to talk and have a good conversation in. Okay just went after moving here a couple years ago and massive regret in not going sooner. Food was amazing, we were seated almost immediately (though as we were leaving there was a queue outside so might have just lucked out there). Decor is plain but youll be too busy eating to care. Food is well priced, plentiful, and delicious and the servers are exactly that right amount of attentive and then leave you alone that lets you actually enjoy yourself.

The banchan (side dishes) are among or the best in the Bay Area that I’ve tried. They’re very fresh! The menu options are decent. We usually go for tofu soups, yook gae jang, and dolsot bimbibap.Service is straight forward to unaccommodating. The dining setting, whether indoor or outdoor, is mediocre. But, we don’t care that much. We love Korean food and this tofu house is becoming a favorite.

Love SGD Tofu House! It has the best Korean food near Stanford campus. Their tofu stews taste fantastic—some of my favorites are the original and the kimchi soft tofu soup, and you can choose white or mixed rice. I also enjoy their complementary small (refillable) dishes.They have a parking lot outside, and in terms of dining spaces they have indoor dining as well as a really nice outdoor seating area under a canopy. The service is friendly as well. Note that weekends, especially dinnertime can be busier and have a bit of a wait.

If you go for dinner on weekends, go earlier, or you end up waiting outside. The food is okay. We had tofu crab soup and hot stone bowel. Crab is frozen so the flavor basically depend on spices. Their small plates are pretty good. Price is okay for a weekend dinner but personally I would expect a lower price for what I get. In this area it might be difficult to find an authentic Korean restaurant with the same quality and price. So, not much to complain. :)a

Service was not good at all. Very impatient and disregard potential safety issues to put hot stone pot near our toddler. TL;DR: a lot of fuss but a tasty meal.I was told that it would be very crowded. The rest of my party get there first so I’m not sure how that normally goes. They certainly weren’t seating anyone until the entire party got there and actually had us order at the door before we set foot inside. Ice water is the default and a jug was on the table along with the place settings but no condiments. I’m not sure if soy sauce was even an option as I didn’t ask. Food came promptly though. My biggest issue was with the egg that came with my soup. I’m sure the egg cooked, considering the bubbling state of my soup but I had raw egg on my fingers (eww!) after cracking it into my soup. You’d think there would be a better system to deal with problem than paper napkins or the whole table heading to the bathroom one by one.

Pretty solid place to get Korean food, especially tofu soup! Place can get really crowded on the weekends during lunch and dinner hours but service is fast. When its crowded, they take your order for you before you sit down so that you can enjoy your food right away!They also give you plenty of side dish options (banchan) and if you get their soups, they give you purple rice. I love all their tofu soups. There have a variety of options to choose from and there isnt one that I tried that I didnt like! Excellent seafood soon tofu! They have 5 levels of spicy and the medium is pretty weak imo. No spice means the broth will just be a white color. This place has excellent side dishes (there were 6 when we went).The seafood pancake is also great and good to share for at least 4 people (its big).Pork bulgogi was mediocre in taste and not very tender but at least they give massive portions. It comes with an overly salty miso soup, but excellent purple rice (I love the nutty taste).Prices are on the expensive side especially for dinner, but that’s just the Bay Area for you. Second time coming here and it remains a newfound favorite of mine. Their soft tofu comes boiling hot so be careful not to burn your tongue in your excitement! I always get the T6 Cheese soft tofu which comes with beef, pork or chicken and mushrooms. I order the beef version without mushrooms and its delicious! Eaten with rice and assorted banchan, its a good and comforting dinner. The interior is nothing to write home about, but the vibe is very homey and comforting. You know people are enjoying their food and company and its a wonderful feeling to step into. Ive never had any issues with customer service as of yet, everyones been so friendly and nice for both of my visits and I hope it remains that way for the future.I love stopping by here for at least one meal whenever Im in the area, and will continue my little tradition as its a great place to catch up with my friends. The atmosphere is somewhat informal but their service is super fast and the food is delilcious. If you are living in Palo Alto or ust stopping by, I would put this place on your Must-Go-To list because you will not be dissapointed. Great place for authentic sundubu (Korean tofu stew). You can customize your spiciness level and it comes with a generous amount tofu and seafood (I ordered the beef and seafood option). Each tofu stew also comes with a bowl of rice (free) and an optional egg ($1). We also ordered spicy cold noodles to share and they were incredible! Highly recommend it. I am very disappointed at the quality of delivery food today. I always went to the place for dinner and it was pretty good, and today I ordered beef tofu soup on doordash. I almost thought they mistakenly delivered the veggie order to me since it was literally a soup with mushrooms until I found 3-4 very tiny meat pieces at the bottom... I would suggest pls keep the food quality of your delivery same level as the in place dining!

Flavor is usually very good here. The service is fast as well. However, I feel uncomfortable with them asking for tip at the very beginning while ordering at counter. This seems to begin recently, and it was not like this a few months ago.Id like to tip based on the service, and it makes more sense to tip after the meal. Additionally, theres nobody comes to your table to take the order, and you need to order at the counter. The service is fast, which I appreciate, but barely did the waiter or waitress talk to me. They didnt even tell me what the plate is when serving.I did tip at the counter last time I was there, and it left me feel odd in hindsight. If I ever dine in here again, I would ask for receipt, and tip later.

We really enjoyed our meal here. We tried the tofu vegetable soup (mild), the tofu pancake appetizer, and the tofu stone pot bibimbap (the crispy rice at the bottom was so nice!). They also gave us a bunch of small plate type stuff that is typical of Korean restaurants. It wasn’t the #1 tastiest food I’ve ever had (but I’m comparing to recent experiences in Ktown in Manhattan) - I think things could have had a bit more flavor. That said, it was still good and I’d gladly eat here again.The staff were pleasant and there was tons of outdoor seating even on a Saturday at 6pm. It was a bit expensive for the portion size ($70 with tax and tip, and we ate all the food we ordered) - but maybe that’s just this area.

Great local experience for tofu, traditional Korean food, and drinks. Food mostly came out quickly after ordering online at the table (bring a charged phone...) and plenty of shared dishes were provided. Lots of tasty dishes with add-ins, customizable dishes, sides, and more. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food came out boiling hot and tasting amazing! Could be improved by staying open a bit later, we were kicked out at closing, at 8:30pm on a Friday night? Dishes were also a bit pricey, but this seems to be a standard for the area.

Food was absolutely good. We traveled from LA and we went there two nights in a row. However, they need more servers. They all seemed so exhausted working while understaffed. My family and I felt so frustrated to ask for the same thing to all three servers after a long wait each time. We ordered and paid for the food online using barcode menu system. This saved a lot of work for them and we still got attitudes from them when we asked for more side dishes! I understand they were busy but we, customers, also have the right to get decent services when we have to pay for 18% tip!! After tonight, weve decided not to visit this place although this was the only closeby korean food from our hotel because we dont want to be treated like we are getting free food when we pay for food and tip. Weve been coming here for over a decade and this restaurant is hands down one of the best Korean restaurants in the entire bay area!The staff works extremely hard and theyre super friendly. Good portions of meat on the chicken and beef bulgogi. Very good portions. But very smallll portion of meat in my beef bin bim bap. VERY SMALL.Pre covid I had eaten here twice and loved it. The sides they bring out are great especially the potatoes and the kim chee. They served us kim chee that wasnt too spicy, Im guessing you can get the hot stuff if you ask.However...now that covid restrictions are lifting the main dishes just werent as good as I remember them. Appetizers/sides were still great...entrees were a disappointment aside from the very generous portion of beef or chicken on the bulgogi.Service is still pretty good but it seems they did some minor remodeling. Walls are bare and it makes for a very noisy experience. Not as bad in terms of volume compared to a place like Evvia, but just as disconcerting due to the echoing effect.Probably wont go back especially since we paid $90 for three peole... Nice outdoor tented dining area. Weather was warm and perfect.Had 12 noon reservations for large party, pre-ordered individual meals. Food arrived right on time at 12noon, unfortunately not all the guests were prompt.Total chaos ensued as servers just randomly placed items at place settings without asking what was ordered by the people currently seated, dishes were just plopped down without informing guests what they were. We could guess some, but not all. When we asked what the dishes were, they told us dont worry theyd sort it out after all the dishes were on the table.This totally didnt make sense when they could have slowed down and served the respective dishes to the guests present, then place there dishes for the pending guests where they would sit when they arrived. Which was basically what happened afterwards.There was a lot of shuffling of dishes between seats to get everyone the dishes they ordered once a more level headed worker arrived.Despite the initial chaos, the food was excellent and bountiful. Generous servings, delicious flavors, great assortment of dishes.The establishment was very accommodating and patient with our large party, family reunion, lots of picture taking, speeches, and socializing.Thank goodness for the outdoor seating as their inside dining would never have accommodated our group size, 20 guests.

There is usually a short wait for a table, but they streamline the process by taking your order while you are waiting so the food will be ready soon after you get to the table. If you want hot and tasty Tofu soup, this is so far the best Korean place to go to. The place is usually crowded during dinner time. The price is reasonable for the quality of food you get. We have been to this place more than 3 times and the food quality is consistently good. Service is also good. My only and continued complaint in this place is the parking area which can be easily alleviated if they open the other end of the parking lot. I dont understand why they have to cordon off the other entrance which can serve as the Exit for vehicles leaving the area. As it is now, only one narrow road is used for both Entrance and Exit to El Camino Real. I hope the owner of the property will see that it is just logical and reasonable to open this cordoned passage to/from El Camino Real.

While they have many meat and fish options, they also have several clearly marked vegetarian options. The appetizers they pull out are fantastic. Tofu House was, without a doubt, one of the most authentic Korean restaurants to which I have been. Though the atmosphere can initially be unwelcoming (there is no formal greeting and many of the waiters do not speak English), the quality of the food definitely makes it up. Tofu House offers a wide variety of organic and vegetarian food, including its own vegetarian menu, and offers different levels of spice with each item.Keep in mind that Tofu House is not cheap. The bibimbap was very good! Theyre very generous with the side dishes; I really liked the chilled seaweed salad side they served. It also got crowded right at noon. I happened to arrive a little before then so avoided the long line. Theyre also very efficient at serving the food. I thought thered be a longer wait, but I think I got my food within 5 to 10 minutes of ordering!

Very average Korea food in terms of quality and the quantity of banchans but does it is not lackluster. I would go here for a casual quick lunch or dinner when youre craving Korean. For a good Korean experience, many others nearby that offer better food.

One of my very favorite restaurants in the area. Now that they are open on Sundays, I could eat here every night. The tofu stew is excellent, and they have several vegetarian options. Their stone pot bibimbap is also tasty. They are generous with the appetizers and pretty fast to serve. It can get quite crowded, especially on the weekends.

Wow, super popular Korean restaurant in Palo Alto. We came on a Friday night around 7:15pm and the parking lot was full and there was a 15 minute wait. All things considering, it wasnt too bad since turnover is so quick. Worth the wait though! I got the combination soft tofu soup and my friends got bibimbap. Pretty solid Korean fare. Good ban chan.

The tofu soup was well spiced, boiling hot and super delicious. I wasnt very impressed by other foods though. Its always crowded so prepare to wait for a little bit - usually not longer than 15 minutes. The place seems to be a little under staffed because it was difficult to get attention. If not for the tofu soup, the place would be a 3 star.

Awesome food. Signature soft tofu in a sizzling hot stone bowl. Very delicious (spiciness on the mild side, so adjust accordingly)! Fast service and they do refill side dishes (kimchi, etc.). Strongly recommend!

I finally got to try this place and I love it!!Not often you find korean places that are accomodating for vegetarians. But this place has so many options and it only makes it difficult when you have to choose, but thats a good problem to have. Leaves some for the revisits.I got the Ramyun Dukbokki. Its ramen with chewy rice cakes and vegetables. I loved the rice cakes ...the dish looked spicy but wasnt that spicy after all.They have very generous portions for banchan..and all of them were delicious...I liked the boiled potatoes the most which seemed to have a sweet creamy coating..I tried the tofu soup someone else ordered on our table and it was delicious.This place is definitely on my list for go-to places and I am going back and back again...for now I cant stop saying dukbokki :-))

Informal Korean restaurant that reflects the decor and ambiance of Koreas local diners. U-shaped parking lot has only one way in and out and can be a tight squeeze to maneuver around when full. Outdoor dining with ordering via QR code on the table, so bring your phone. Spiciness can be specified for most dishes. Food is delivered quickly via carts. I havent found anything on the menu I havent liked; japchae, soon dubu, cold noodles, pajeon - theyre all good! Dont let the bibimbap sit too long unless you want your rice really crispy - the bowl is that hot! Water is served and sodas are available, but no alcohol is offered.

This was my first time trying tofu soup and I really liked it. I find the soup has a nice definitive taste and the portion size was very appropriate.This place is really busy at lunch though so you will have to wait a bit.

My soondooboo tasted like they put a bunch of ramen packets in it to flavor it. The restaurant itself is not clean and I only realized at the end of my meal that we were eating next to a giant pile of dirty dishes and bowls that they wouldn’t take away, even though we were the only two people in the restaurant at an off hour. They were at the table behind me, so I didn’t see earlier and my husband was too nice to say anything. Side dishes are sloppy and drenched in sugar for the most part. If you’ve ever tasted real korean food, do yourself a favor and don’t go here.

Theyve got so many different combinations of Korean tofu soups and you can always ask to customize with whatever you want. Friendly staff and super fast service. They do have a variety of Korean side dishes that are complimentary, about 8 of them, and you can always ask for refills.

My partner and I went for lunch, and the place was busy when we got there, but not packed so we were seated right away. Service was fairly prompt, they were efficiently serving people to get them in and out of the moderately sized restaurant.We got the glass noodle and veggie appetizer and that was great, and the portion was the size of my head. I ordered the seafood hot stone pot bibimbab, and my SO ordered the bulgogi. The portions were very large, and the food was very tasty. The kimchi was good, particularly the potatoe, but could have been spicier, the cucumbers were the best.We are now sitting in the parking lot recovering from trying to eat it all.

Just didnt like it as much as other people. People were friendly but the food wasnt great. I had the Yook Gae Jang and it didnt taste great. Soup was way too oily and it barely had any beef. Took home half of the dish, which I never really so since I hate throwing away food because I didnt like it at all. A day after you could see the oil and sauce separating and it was like 30% oil. Other meals seem to be fairly good but the Yook Gae Yang aint great..

Theres a very clear reason this place is always pretty crowded and theres a eat quickly and enjoy vibe. The food here is consistently great! My go to dishes are a vegetarian bibimbob with tofu or a spicy fried noodle soft tofu. Great place to grab dinner with friends, but a bit loud for anything more intimate.

Over the past few years, the level of service at this place has gone down significantly. Dont expect a peaceful or attentive dining experience. The staff seemed so rushed at a recent visit they would come by, drop off their cargo, and keep on moving. Wow.The food was fine, but the ambiance is a strong negative (especially compared to a few years ago).

Oh my God best Korean in the United States. Pretty damn cheap and its a great place to catch up on your vegetables. I usually get the bibimbap in the hot stone Bowl and make crunchy rice with the bowl. But those spicy tofu bowls are pretty darn good. Yes they have a lot of meat options here you dont have to rely on Tofu for your protein.

The best part about eating at Tofu House are the delicious and numerous appetizers. The main dishes are unquestionably good Korean food (approved by a Seoul visitor) and the quantities are generous. Service is quick and efficient, premises are clean, parking is large but also always full.

Food is good. For 2/3 people, get a tofu soup and a bulgogi. All the tofu soup Ive tried are pretty good. The smell of food will stick to your clothing but that is expected. Line can be pretty long during peak meal timings, but that is to be expected for places with good food.

Very popular for good reason. I nearly always order the dolsot bibimbap, which is consistently nice and hot, so the rice gets nicely browned. As usual for this type of place, service is harried, tables are small, and the entire space is quite loud. But the food is tasty and the prices are very reasonable for the Bay Area.

Very good soft tofu soup (T8 beef with Kimchi ordered extra spicy). Reasonable prices compared to others in the area. Good side dishes. But no liquor of any kind!! First Korean restaurant I have been to with no shoju and no beer. Korean food is not the same without a beer or shoju!!
