A nice mom-and-pop Korean cafe/market with friendly service. The menu for items to order include different types of kimbap, rice cakes, a very tasty fish cake soup dish, some dessert, and two drinks. I bought the fish cake kimbap, spicy fish cake banchan, japchae, and the fish cake soup (all but the soup was already premade and ready to grab); the total was around $20 and I loved everything I bought! There was a decent amount of seating, but most of the store is grab and go. There was an impressive amount of dessert, including rice cakes, that Ill have to try out next time.
OMG. Injeolmi dduk. Fresh injeolmi dduk. Local. Yes. This is what Ive been looking for! The also serve coffee, some quick Korean dishes amd a variety of other rice cakes. They have a refrigerator full of marinated meats, kimchi and side dishes ready for purchase.

Always come here for Korean street foods and snacks! Theyve increased the different rice cakes and snacks they have so if you havent been in a while, its worth checking out. Its hard for me to go to Korean markets cuz theyre so far away, so I end up coming to Sodam a lot for snacks. Good food, even better rice cakes and always fresh! The owner is super nice and recognizes me whenever I go!
Only tried their mugwort red bean rice cake - really really good. Not sure how they source it, since its a spring herb, but it tasted of the real thing. But just a token green color. It was soft and fresh and just had enough salt to balance the sugar. Looking forward to trying more
The price of rice drink( Shik Hye) is ridiculous. I paid it for $4.50 and the taste is like water in lots of ice. Then they added lots of sugar as well.

It’s quite a small place that doesn’t get much attention, but the store itself is neat and cozy and their food is great! It’s a nice place to have a cheap and light lunch, as well as get side dishes. I recommend their spicy fish cakes and fish cake soup.
Love coming here especially for their fishcake gimbap, its my favorite! I love being able to pick up their ready made foods for a quick snack as they are are all very tasty. I also like the variety of kimchi they have available for purchase. Staff is very nice too!

Im so happy I found this place. From the outside, I assumed this was a hole in the wall eatery, but its not. Its a convenient food store that sells Korean cold and hot prepared foods and snacks. Im giving it a 5 out of 5 star bc the food is decent, and theres no Asian grocery store in the TriValley area besides Ranch 99. (This is the closest thing to a H-Mart if you want to buy prepared dishes.)

Small family Korean market. Sells snacks, sides dishes, marinaded meat, dumplings and etc. Have all the important stuff you need, and prob can’t get at 99 ranch. And nothing you don’t. Saves me a 20 mile trip to the nearest / actual Korean supermarket
Wow. This place is amazing! They have homemade kimchi and banchan, the shikhye is delicious, the tteok... the food is incredible! The service is very welcoming too. I live over an hour away, but will definitely try to stop by again.
This place is one of my local favorites in the East Bay!Time and time again, I find myself stopping by Sodam when Im in the area. Whether it be for Sikhye (sweet rice beverage), Korean Fried Chicken (drooooool), or some fish cake soup (amazing on a cold day), I cant help but feel the need to get some yummy food at this place.Just a word of warning, theres a refrigerated section with some premade banchan that I havent had any luck with. Tried a couple of different items there - Squid, Black Beans, Octopus - all too salty.

One of the best hidden gems in Dublin!! Also love the newly enforced social distancing rules in their shop. Customers are encouraged to wear masks, sanitize their hands, and keep 6 feet from others. All of the foods are pre-packaged.We love the banchan, fish cakes, kimbap, and tteokbokki. My husband and I made tofu soup at home and went on a picnic so my last trip to Sodam was a success and made great meals for us!!
The selection is limited and mainly for takeout. However food overall taste good. You should try their sushi rolls. The lady at the register is very sweet and patient.
Dduk is on point and service is quick and friendly. Go early for fresh rice cakes (dduk). The kimbab (Korean sushi rolls) is mediocre, and the ddukboki (spicy rice cakes) is ok also nothing to rave about. Prices are decent, which keeps me coming back.
I bought some kimbap to take with me on the road, and it was the perfect lunch/snack for a road trip. They make it on the spot rather than having a bunch of it ready-made. The red kimbap really hit the spot, and the beef and burdock kimbap were also great.
Love the food there! Relatively cheap but there are certain food items that are a dollar or two expensive. Overall service, food, and the shop set up makes it convienent and pleasant to shop there! Im a big fan of their spicy tteboki 😋

Bought 3 kinds of Korean mochi/rice cake to a party and they were devoured in no time. I dont remember the names (no names on the packaging). Maybe Ill find out next time and update my review.
The ddeokbokki is simply phenomenal. Low key atmosphere and overall nice staff and environment. Try ordering the o-deng gook and putting the fish cakes in the spicy ddeokbokki sauce for an awesome mix of savory and spicy.

Awful rude staff that will pack your food in an unsafe manner. Dripping packages of raw meat on top of salad items. Don’t waste your time by visiting this place. If that’s how they pack customers bags, imagine how they handle your food out of sight.
A really great addition to the area. Snacky Korean food like Kim Bop, Dukk Boki, Bindaedduk, and other Dduk and Banchan. Be warned, very little is written in English, but everyone is super nice and will help you.
I’m not sure about the hygiene here. Once I saw the cook came out with her gloves and she touched everywhere with the gloves that she use for making food!!! So disgusting. Since the kitchen is hidden, I’m not sure if she changed her gloves or not. Please keep hygiene!!

I visited for the first time a few days ago.I ordered tteokbokki and kimbap because I wanted to eat them.But ㅜㅜ When making tteokbokki rice cakes, a lot of water is added.It was a rice cake that wasnt too weak or like a rice cake.The seasoning wasnt too sweet...it wasnt even seasoned and it was tasteless tteokbokki. If you cant taste it, use MSG instead.Add more sugar, soy sauce, or salt.And most important...Please clean up.The water purifier...and the table next to the water purifier...It was so messy overall that I honestly didnt want to sit there and eat.In the US, most restaurants are clean.Ive never seen a restaurant as dirty as this one.
A treasured place in the San Ramon area of Dublin, where there is no Korean market. A place where you can get simple groceries. You dont have to wait long. I also eat snacks. Buy some side dishes too. In addition to red pepper powder,I wish they sold all kinds of seasonings too.
The food was delicious and the rice cakes were all good, but the rice in the Yak-style rice did not seem to be glutinous, and the texture of the brown sugar, soy sauce, and sesame oil did not mix well, so the texture was a bit hard or only tasted dry and sweet.And the owners service attitude doesnt seem to be as good as it used to be.

Be sure to ask for either the meat/veggie/kimchi dumplingsThis place is one of those locally owned small businesses by authentic people. I come in here and I hear Korean hellos and thank you. Its great for takeaway but there is a small area for dine in for the desserts and prepared food like Tteoboki and soup. This place gives a great feel for Korean street food. I go here every week for lunch. Its affordable. Its fast. And most importantly its delicious. This is the standard for me in regards to Gimbap.

2023-01-27 23:06:37This place is a gem if you like Korean food at home. There are lots of sides and soups, you can buy jajangmein topping and just boil some noodles at home and pour that on top. You can buy beef bone soup and add rice, noodles and sliced beef to make sullangtong. I will definitely come back.

There’s a good selection of Korean food here, there’s kimchi fried rice, kim bap, rice cakes, fried chicken, banchan & Korean desserts!I really liked the kimchi fried rice and Kim bap! The minimum for credit card is $10! Plenty of seating there too if you wanna eat there.
