2021-10-24 08:16:57What a wonderful dining experience I had here. Very traditional Japanese dishes and flavors. I really enjoy the grilled dishes and the onigiri. The larger meals and noodles are good sized portions too. This place can get crowded during dinner hours, so don’t get surprised. The food is completely worth the wait.

2023-10-03 17:58:16A decent izakaya with underground parking. While the food is decent, I thought it was a bit overpriced.

2021-05-09 14:33:19Talk about the Japanese izakaya gem of the valley. The location is subtly tucked away in Ventura Blvd but it should have its own star on the Hollywood walk of Fame. The food is consistently great and the service is bar-none unbeatable. Quality at its finest. Come hungry, leave happy. Kanpai!

2020-09-24 04:33:54A great little spot for traditional Japanese food. That being said, I highly recommend the beef tongue, easily my favorite thing on the menu. The service is exactly what youd expect from a traditional Japanese place: phenomenal. (And the bathrooms are nice, too!)

2017-10-26 03:13:04I have to say I was impressed. This is a gem of a restaurant. It is very authentic. The food was just like what you get in Tokyo. The tempura was excellent, especially the shrimp, which was really fresh. My favorite was the sauted Eggplant dish. Really tasty. The onigiri was also good. We had both the salmon and the spicy shrimp onigiri. Lastly the kara age (fried chicken) was as good as any Ive had in Japan. Do yourself a favor and try this place.Be aware, they dont serve sushi. If you are looking for a real taste of Japan, this is it FYI, There is an underground parking lot.

2019-08-23 03:35:34Very welcoming staff, good energy, and they were all very attentive. The interior of the restaurant felt like I was back in Japan, especially the bathroom, so clean I couldve eaten my dinner in there!

2019-02-09 04:42:33Food and service 10/10. Atmosphere maybe 7/10 due to and in line with the location. Menu was surprisingly robust with knock your socks off daily specials and fresh fish options. The server was humble, friendly, and knowledgeable, and upon request made excellent recommendations that were more and more on point as he got to know our tastes. Everything we ordered was super, tamago was mind blowing. Take your sweetheart and have an awesome, memorable time. Sola is a gem, no doubt about it.
