Absolutely enjoyed the quality of meat and super service here at Songhak Tustin! Sauces were never empty and the banchan kept on coming. My fav parts of KBBQ are the sides and they had really yummy fried rice, japchae, kimchi, rice paper (for bbq), salad, fish cakes, and Korean pancake. Also appreciated the frequent grill changes cos that makes the bbq 10x better. Me and my friends came here for lunch and decided to get items from the premium list because we had to AYCE pork jowl and we had no regrets. Definitely coming back.

Im always down for some authentic KBBQ, especially after a gym leg day! There are 2 AYCE options:Signature A $26.99 (44 items)Premium B $38.99 (57 items)I really wanted the beef tongue and pork jowl, so I went with the premium option. Theres also a self served bar where you can get some marinated meats and Korean side dishes. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal!

Cant beat the ALL YOU CAN EAT Lunch Special for $21.99 (Mon-Thurs 11:30am-3:00pm) 29 items including side dishes, sauces and the salad bar. We were very full and satisfied. So many marinated meats to choose from but we tried honey mustard chicken, chicken teriyaki, bulgogi, plain pork belly and etc and all were really delicious. We also enjoyed the sides too like kimchi, japchae, potato cake, fish cakes and etc.I love how you can get your own meats and sides at the salad bar and you dont have to flag down a staff. Also, staff were nice and attentive. They changed our grill without being asked and they also checked on us a few times to make sure we were okay.Interior is a little dated, but it doesnt take away from the quality and taste of their food so they get 5 stars from me and I will definitely be back.NOTE: You can choose Signature ($26.99 44 items) and Premium ($38,99 57 items) if you want to try expensive cut of meats.

I came for a Monday night dinner with friends! We chose this spot for Kbbq because of the reasonable Ayce price and because I saw that they had self serve meat stations which I thought was different and cool! As someone who cant eat a large quantity of meat but would like to try a bit of everything, this was really great to be able to sample many different kinds of meat. And they have so many different ones with unique marinades! I loved that side dishes and rice paper were also self serve as well so you could help yourself to exactly how much you expected to eat. Even though a lot of the meal was self service, the actual service from the waitstaff was superb. We still needed to order the more premium meats, and items like the steamed egg and corn cheese. Our waiter was attentive and kind, making it comfortable for us to continue ordering lol. It wasnt too busy when we arrived at 5:30 but the flow of traffic picked up quickly. Fortunately, the self serve area never got crowded at all. My favorite cut was the wagyu beef belly and least favorite was the brisket which I usually like a little fattier and theirs was lean. We also enjoyed the pork jowl and pork belly and was pleased to see interesting items like spicy octopus! Songhak delivered exactly what I was looking for in a casual kbbq dinner spot and Ill be back!

This Korean AYCE BBQ outlet located in Tustin deserves a look see. Pricing is fair and the cuts of meats are good quality and they have various spicy or sweet marinaded beef, chicken and pork on the A Course menu including the kimchi and soybean paste soups. They can do better job on the stews and perhaps adding more starters on A Course which is less than $30. Course B adds ribeye steak, beef tongue and LA ribs to the mix. Either course is fine price difference is about $10.

New go to Kbbq spot!! Such great price for AYCE Wagyu starting at $26.99 🤤 I did the ayce Menu B and my faves were the Wagyu beef belly in picante sauce and boneless short rib. They also have a self serve salad bar with side dishes and even more meat-bulgogi, pork belly, chicken, among other marinated meats.Parking lot is big so you won’t have a problem finding a spot. Servers come around often to check up on you and change the grill. Must try!!

Got here 10 minutes after opening and it was the perfect time to go! It was right before the rush and it was great! We started off with premium beef brisket, rib eye, and wagyu beef belly and it was all pretty delicious!I love that depending on the AYCE option you choose, you can take advantage of their buffet of sides and marinated meats. We of course had to get the steamed egg and that was pretty good!Shoutout to the team for their awesome service. They were always on it, changing our grill, and checking in on us to make sure we had what we needed. I’m definitely going back!

This is a buffet. I mean for real. Like the fact the menu and the bar are versatile. You don’t have to keep waving someone down unlike other restaurants. The staff is very attentive and very kind and friendly. Highly recommend the waagyu come on. Can’t get Wagyu anywhere else for a good decent price. So excited to finally come here after living in the area for centuries. They literally have tons of selections. Only con I had was wish the walls were kept clean. Noticed it was kind of dirty. Its the small details. honestly, the staff just made it great. To me customer service is everything. Oh not to mention they change the grill without you having to ask which is super awesome. I love the meat here! Since it’s our fist time, their staff explain to us about the menu.I can’t believe it’s all you can eat! Their meats are very high quality with awesome taste. (Pictures attached). They even including wagyu on the menu!!Their beef intestine also very delicious. I love it so much. I almost finished the whole plates. I have literally zero complaints about the meat taste or quality, it was delicious!! Wait was non-existent. Easily top 3 KBBQ places Ive been to. My only complaint in general is that the sides are a little sparce, which is no big deal. Im absolutely coming back this place is amazing.

Better than expected. Yes there is limited selection of dishes based on different pricing, but the meat is good quality and service good as well. It is a buffet so I dont expect much from the waiter, I came for the food not for services. But the guy was very courteous and responded to our requests to the best of his abilities. Go try it out!

Reasonable price and food of Korean BBQ lunch buffet. Dont compare it with the top line Korean BBQ meat place. We ordered many fresh meats instead of marinated meats. They are sliced very thin. Not bad. We will try the higher price one next time. No kimche during lunch is a surprise to us.

One of the YouTuber recommended this restaurant and finally went to try the Semi Buffet All You Can Eat lunch today.Its quite disappointing. What the meats from Salad Bar on the menu was just 5 or 6 kinds there.(it said 11 kinds on the menu.) and so is some of the side dishes on the menu too. I had to ask for the kimchi and they brought it over. The salad is not fresh. It appeared some light brown color of it.My opinion is if you are willing to pay a few more bucks and go to a different Korean BBQ restaurant. You would definitely have a more choice and better quality of food.One good thing about this restaurant is the server is very attentive, come to check with you and change the grill plate a couple times.

Songhak was great! Ordered off the premium menu tonight. Started with the Beef Brisket (#13) and Wagyu beef belly (#17) - can never go wrong with these. Moved on to the boneless beef short rib cut (#1) which was super tender and flavorful! After some more beef belly, we rotated in the prime beef marinated short rib (#5) which might have been my favorite! I enjoyed having our own space (most tables are booths) unlike a lot of KBBQ spots in the area. Service was amazing too - can’t wait to come back!

My party did the $38.99 ayce menu! Loved that this menu had the steamed egg. Wagyu beef belly and the prime beef marinated short rib was a hit! This menu included a self-serve bar for marinated meats and side dishes. Drinks are not included in the ayce pricing.Overall service was pretty attentive. You get to order 3 items at a time. Some sides you have to order from the kitchen like kimchi, garlic, radish paper, etc.Parking here was very spacious! If you’re a big fan of an extensive list of kbbq meats to select from and you love being able to grab your own meats and refill on your banchan at the buffet, then you have to check out Songhak Tustin. Turns out I had been to this location before it was called Songhak so it brought back some nostalgia. Anyways, the service here is quite prompt. There was never a time when I had to flag someone down to order more meats or grill changes. They were all pretty attentive so that was nice. Although they do have two menu sets to select from, I like that the buffet selections are available regardless of which menu option you choose from. There’s plenty of seating in the establishment so it’s perfect for parties of all sizes. Hot and Humid - A Disappointing Dining ExperienceThe restaurant was hot and humid, which made the whole dining experience uncomfortable. The customer service was lacking, and it seemed like they were understaffed. But the worst part was the meat quality, especially the intestines that had a horrible smell. The brisket was tough and flavorless and pork belly was equally tasteless.I am surprised by the reviews here, this is probably best for those who know nothing about meat quality.I wont be coming back again.

My family and I used to go to the restaurant that was before this one. We liked it cause there were a variety of food ranging from Chinese food, sushi, ice cream, and different meats. Now there are new owners and I believe they are a Korean couple. The man and the wife alternated between themselves to serve us. They also worked together to serve the customers. I didnt see any other waiters except the couple serving the tables. They also spoke fluent Korean. The overall cost for all-you-can-eat (AYEC) is more expensive than the previous owner, but compared to other kbbq places around Irvine and Tustin, this is a great deal. However, they now changed it and focused their menu with an emphasis on Korean cuisine. They also provided plenty of side dishes with japchae, chili cucumbers, Korean style pancake, and many more. Youre also allowed to get a unlimited refills on the side dishes, just ask them. We ordered AYCE $27.99, how it works is you order in rounds (they give you a sheet of paper with the list of items) on the items list choose 3 per round. If you order AYEC, theyll continue to give you more paper to order if you need it (theres 4 or 5 rounds written per one paper). But after 4 or 5 rounds our party was full (our group of 4). While we were eating they asked us if we were doing okay and collected any of our empty dishes so we have more room. The tables still use the grill in the middle and they turn on the ac inside. The bathroom are also clean.The ordering system was a bit confusing at first, but over time we were able to understand it and they answered our questions about it.

Almost everything was amazing. There was some barbecue beef I think that was basically just sweet baby Rays. Not bad just not my favorite. However, everything else was great and service was amazing. We were here today for a birthday party. There were 20 of us. We ordered the premium package. The fried rice didn’t cook all the way, poor service, we ordered our meats and took forever to come out. Then it was hard to get the waiter to order more meat. One time our meat piece came out frozen like a piece of cardboard. My boyfriend said the men’s bathroom was dirty. Only the brisket was good. Didn’t care for other meats. Our party spent almost $1,000 at this place. We will never come back here again. Both of our stomach are feeling woozy at the moment.

Been here 5 times in the past 2 weeks and each time the service and quality has gotten worse until tonight when it has become unacceptable and my family will not be returning. With a party of 4 they let you get three plates of meat at a time. In 1 1/2 hours we were only able to order twice. Many of the items were not available. No rice for the entire time. the sign said do not open because the rice was still cooking. Macaroni salad not available. Most of the meat was very fatty. The seasoning that you get to season the meat was wet and not able to be used. Its like having wet salt and pepper. Best of luck in using it properly. After spending over $500 in the past week we will be looking for another Korean BBQ that would like our business and money. When speaking with the staff its like it falls on people that dont really care. If this service continues for much longer this place will be out of business or being bought out by someone that cares about its customers and keeping its standards consistent. Let the search begin for a non chain Korean BBQ place where we can again enjoy this great cuisine.

Low quality meat by all you can eat standards, grimy restaurant, and most importantly super slow service. Every time I’ve left this restaurant unsatisfied and wishing I hadn’t gone.

This place used to be a five star the new owner has obviously downgraded a little bit on his meat. I know the prices of meat have gone up but so has the price of his menu. We still eat here once in awhile but it surely isnt as good as it used to be. I I do like the new grills as some of the old ones didnt get hot enough. With that premium price you should have more premium meat in my opinion. Service was not as good either theyre only two or three people working look like in the business was rocking. Walter was amazingly attentive. We had a server initially but she never paid attention to us or are needs. He was very helpful with how the restaurant worked we never been so it was very amazing for him to go out of his way to help us. Service would of been horrible if it wasnt for him. We need more people like him in every restaurant that deals with a busy schedule. To be fair yes, if was busy but at least come check up on us once in a while. 2 times only she went up to us. Or if you cant handle it dont get more tables of you cant assist them. Its not fair to get all tips when you cant even do 10 % of the work.

Not the best. Its very small and kind of a mess.The food wasnt that bad but it wasnt good either. The buffet of meats they have was very limited and looked suspicious. Every surface area was super greasy. The selection of meats wasnt great either. At first the selection looks extensive but its mostly just different cuts of meat repeated twice (with or without sauce.) Also the music selection gave me a headache. Got a stomach ache for the rest of the night and into the morning.Service wasnt too bad. They were kind of running all over the place and inconsistent but they were nice enough. Youd see 2 or 3 servers ask the same 2 or 3 tables if they needed anything else and then ignore the other 3 or 4 tables. Just all kinds of messy.

This place is pretty mid. The pricing is excellent but the buffet setup for the meats was messy and basically empty, took forever to refill. Also the sides were empty most of the time as well. I didn’t think it was worth it. Pay a bit more and get better quality else where. Also the sides they offer are limited and not what you usually expect at other places..

Just be fair the food was fine. And the service had been fine until the last moment that my friend and I experienced something terribly wrong! Date: May 31st, 2022. Time: Around 3:05pm Location: The right corner of the booth if walking from the entrance of Songhak Korean BBQ restaurant in Tustin, CA. We came across this restaurant by chance for our lunch at about 2:20pm. At around 3pm I found two staffs were in the cashier counter. Suddenly the light was off in half of the restaurant that included the table we were still eating. At first, we thought it might have been a mistake with short circuit or just a human wrong touch. While seeing other side of customers of the restaurant enjoying their food with light on, I found myself and my friend eating with darkness. Nobody came to explain what had happened to us after a few minutes. Upon questioning, a waiter named Alan (he claimed) replied that he was not the person turning off the light. I told him that I did not care who had turned off the light, I just needed the light to be back on so that we could continue our lunch. The waiter became impatient and repeated that he had not turn off the light. I asked Alan if he could turn on the light so that we could finish our lunch. He neither answered my question nor solved the problem. Alan, the waiter, told me that no manager on duty when I requested to speak to his supervisor. This young waiter Alan even impatiently told me that he was already off duty as if he had offered the conversation beyond his duty. At this point, I believe it would have been waist our time discussing further. Although we left with dissatisfaction and disappointment, I nevertheless left the tips for the waiter for his service in the first part of our meal. For a restaurant that I just found it in Google with my cell phone, I did not expect any extraordinary meal experience but just for a decent Korean BBQ lunch. However, I did not expect such an awful incident that my friend and I would have experienced. It totally ruined our mood for sure! I still do not understand what went wrong or why we experienced blackout when having the lunch. I guessed a possible answer: We had arrived around 2:20pm and the light was off at around 3pm, perhaps the employees wanted to close our section and therefore rudely turned off the light! We were led to this table; we were not told if they need to close at 3pm! Please note that other customers were still in the other side of the restaurant for their meals when our tables light was turned off. This was a ridiculous experience in my life! Since the waiter Alan told me that no supervisor could be informed, I decided to share my unfortunate experience to the public! Let public know about it and let people judge it!

We decided to go with Menu A, which was $24.99 with a limited menu of premium beef + premium marinated beef. We decided to just start off with the first four, but our server said for tables up to 4, you can select up to three orders at once. We apologized and said it was our first time, so she said it was okay.Premium Beef Brisket was super marbled, while the marinated versions looked like a completely different cut. The Caribbean flavor tasted like BBQ, the spicy was SPICY and the gourmet sauce was lacking. We also got #7 Premium Wagyu Beef Belly with Authentic Galbi sauce, which was one of our favorite flavors.The last of the kitchen orders were the soups. I had two of the soybean paste stew. The first stew was absolutely perfect - it was balanced and flavorful. However, the second lacked consistency and it was bland or watered down. The kimchi stew tasted weird. It didnt taste like fermented kimchi and the sour flavor tasted like a tomato base. I was met with mixed emotions.For the buffet selections, we tried the Hawaiian BBQ pork bulgogi, Premium Pork Belly and Pork Belly marinated with Galbi sauce. We really liked the marinated pork belly and grabbed repeats of those.Overall impression was disappointing and maybe, a little grossed out. Service was lacking because we managed our own BBQ grills and flagged our server down to submit orders or change grills. However, I think the biggest shock was seeing an employee hand select sliced jalapenos with their bare hands to place on a tray. Why couldnt this person use tongs? We most likely wont be back.

One of the staff was super nice and kept asking if everything was ok and if we need to change the grill. But was told by a woman there in a semi rude way (guessing she’s the owner) that everything that’s covered are not included? So why put them out? Plenty of AYCE in LA so most likely not going to return.

Was on here on 12-26-2022. Service was terrible. We couldn’t even get glasses for the bottle water that the waiter gave us. No one to take our orders when did the Premium. I still tip tho but was a waste when we could’ve gone somewhere. Oh well! Our burner was burning and took so long to get one replaced. Next time we know not to do buffet at KBBQ. Waiter got in a fight with another party. This place should hire more people or just shut it down. We should’ve just left as soon as we sat down and couldn’t get utensils and glasses for at least 15 minutes. We saw other customers waiting and getting frustrated, that should’ve been a sign for us when we walked in. Poor service and food was ok if you can get them. There’s better KBBQ place to eat than this place. Turn around and Leave! It’s not nice but you’ll thank me later.

I go here for 곱창 (beef intestines). I’ve been here a few times and the quality of the food is always great. You get a choice to order a medium or large combo and get to choose three meats. I always go with three orders of beef intestines. The combo comes with a variety of 반찬 (side dishes) and they don’t skimp out on them either. You can also request a bowl of rice.They also have a AYCE BBQ option for a good price but it doesn’t include the intestines.Their service is great as well! Very attentive and always checking how you’re doing. A+!

The quality of the meat was on par with other Korean BBQ restaurants. Their customer service and communication has room for improvement. When they welcome guests they should always ask if the guest has been there before and if the guest says, no. Then they should explain how the ordering process works because the kbbq restaurant operates different compared to other kbbq restaurants. There are buffet items which should be more clearly marked and organized. And the servers seem to talk in a slightly stern tone as opposed to a helpful tone. But its possible that they are just understaffed and stressed. However this has been my experience at this location the last two times Ive come.Ill still come back because there is plenty of space. At other kbbq places I feel like they are cramming everyone together in a tight box.

Great Korean Bbq. I have been to MANY other K-bbq places, and what I HATE is waiting for more meat to come out. This place was NOT LIKE THAT! First time trying this place since Seoul Garden was here. The wait staff looked so unhappy and unfriendly like customers are an inconvenience. The guy who changed our grill was the best, he came by often and changed our grill regularly and always asked if we needed anything else. He was really on it. The wait staff really need to learn from him. We ordered the steamed egg for $5 extra and it came with dirt inside. We were forced to spit it out. I don’t usually like to complain but I did so they will learn from this mistake and not allow other customers to suffer. They did bring us a new steamed egg but the damage was done. We paid the same money as people who came in the morning and there was worse service. It just because it was almost closing time. Had a horrible experience where one of the supervisors Ethan, deliberately misinformed us to overcharge us. We dined in as a party of 4 adults and 1 child and spent over $200. At the time of sitting he informed us that we would not be charged auto gratuity if we only used one stove. We only used one stove and would have to look for an employee to get our orders in. Unfortunately its was a bad experience the service they offered. On top of that when we received the check we were charged auto gratuity of 18%! Which was ridiculous after how poorly we were treated. I spoke to the same individual (middle aged spiky hair and glasses) and was told that, whats he said earlier was not how it works.

The first time we went, the service was a lot better, but this time, it just took a long time to place subsequent orders and get refills on sides. Very nice servers who recommend things to try, but just too understaffed.I think they arent hiring a lot of servers to save money, which is a shame because the food is actually decent. Overall I would say this place is a good 3/5 stars. Theres a good selection of meats for a relatively low price. As for the food, everything was pretty tasty, but the Bulgogi and sauces I found to be a little bit more on the sweeter side. The main reason I scored it lower than 5 stars probably has to be because of how hectic and confusing my experience was. If youre doing All You Can Eat youre given access to the Salad bar, which upon first inspection is just a bunch of different extra meats youre given access to. I saw servers with trays of side dishes (banchan) and couldnt find them at the salad bar so I assumed the servers gave them to us. After asking the server if we grab the side dishes ourselves he gave me a confusing look as if I should know that already. (It was my first time visiting) I ended up finding the side dishes but there was a very small selection. The TVs had also shown off a few sides like pickled cucumbers that I was never able to find. Funny enough, Kimchi and the salad itself isnt served at the salad bar but needs to be requested if youd like some. So overall the food is good but everything felt a bit hectic and confusing that it led to a rather mid experience. Id say its worth the visit because there were quite a bit of unique sauces and meat marinades I never saw offered at other Korean BBQs.

The only reason I tried this place is because all the other ayce wait times were over 2 hours. I know you should have lower expectations for buffets, but Im upset that they are not listing this as a buffet on google directly, they make it sound like it is a korean bbq, these are different perceptions. Wow. This place is next level, but the staff are the real MVPs here.This was my first time coming here, and it was a birthday dinner for a friend of mine. We all got the ultimate meat AYCE option which was sufficiently meaty, and had something for everyone.Waiting is the hardest part, and thats even more true here where on a packed evening, youll have to deal with waiting 3 times before you get to the eating portion of things. We ate outside (patio and indoor dining, but patio is faster) and the manager there was extremely kind to us. He was our server for the night and made sure everyone was okay. We ordered a lot of food and everything came out separately just bc they were busy, but it didnt take long for it to come out and everything was soooooo good!! A very UNSATISFIED customer & family! We had my moms 69th birthday with my 6 siblings and their children with their childrens children. Service was rushed with no explanation of how their service prices worked, we did not get the opportunity to order much to where we end up picking up fast food before heading home, an employee almost tripped in front of me from rushing our orders to our table, rice was soggy AND not enough to go around so we had to wait... lastly but definitely not least, our bill was ridiculously over-priced for hardly having enough meat for a family of 5. By the way, their soda can is $6 each. Funny thing, not only did they automatically add their gratuity in our bill but they asked if we wanted to leave a tip. If our SERVICE was AT LEAST pleasant, we would have but it wasnt. Its no wonder why its Best to stick with a well-known Korean BBQ spot like Gens. I believe this place to be lacking in very much needed experience. The meat served was also lacking in quality, the service was poor, and the manager was abhorrent in character. The meat was way chewy compared to the dozens of Korean BBQ places Ive previously been and the grills used had a poor design making it the meat cook unevenly. The worst was the spicy baby octopus which was almost like a chalky jello. There was no flavor and the texture was unappealing at best. The service was poor with inconsistent waiters and waitresses as well as a big mishap with our bill being over marked. The worst part of the problem was the manager though because he was argumentative as well as cruel to his workers. He had overlooked our table for a while, and even referenced the bill beforehand but let the mistake of an extra person being left on the bill. On top of that for compensation he decided to suggest no tip for the workers instead of taking a person off the hill or other forms of compensation. He sought to make the customer (me and my family) look like the villain instead of taking the blame for not addressing the problem properly. Overall it was a horrid experience. There are much better options in the area.The manager siad he would take one of the kids off. But instead returned with bull and suggested that we dont give a tip to his workers so he could avoid losing $18.99. Not Kool at all.. our bill that he reviewed before giving it to us was wrong. Therefore it was the owners fault not the workers that we were over charged. Bill $504.86.Just fyi, we bought the premium menu, price at $37 each and was not so nice.

This is actually in Tustin not Irvine. They took the place of another Korean BBQ joint. Due to COVID you order from the menu and they bring you the food to cook at the table. They do bring a generous portion of the meats. Im a fan of chicken and loved the teriyaki and spicy chicken. Its to bad it takes so long to cook and takes up a lot of space on the grill. I enjoyed all of the meats. I didnt go for the veggies or rice because Im a carnivore and basically only do meats at buffets. The service was very good. I know I will definitely return.

Ok so we came to try this place because we passed by it so many times that we finally gave in and tried it now the only other time we had korean bbq was when we went to one over in westminster and that place was really good i forgot the name of it but i can assure you that once i walked in and saw that it had the same type of grill i was excited that its probably as good as the other place we went to and since its practically right next to were we live i figured this could be our new dinner place as a regulars lol but ... it really didnt turn out that way... most of the meats either didnt sound appealing or didnt taste right i mean at least for me the brisket was the only thing we really ate after that and the fried rice cuz most of the stuff was either not ready or something idk we paid for the salad bar thing but all we got was the bulgogi and rice the other stuff just didnt look right idk having meat in ice and having a bunch of random people go by to get some meat i mean it really isnt much of a protection around against covid or anything other than hand sanitizer over all one of the customers told us that it was better than Gen which is another place we been wanting to try but now idk lol cuz to me the food options werent all in our favor lol but i guess you never know till you try it

Went there today for lunch and was turned away. I was alone and ready to pay for the 25dollar meal, and they said that I needed to have at least two people. Today is a Wednesday, and I showed them on their menu where it said that two people were needed on weekends and holidays. The response was I don’t know why it says that. I asked to speak to someone in charge and they said that they were in charge and incredibly rude. I’ve eaten there multiple times alone and never had a problem on a weekday until now. We were served by a lady named Cindy. She is very corteous and surprised us with her language skills. She knows filipino language and kind of caugh us off-guard because she isnt Filipina yet she commands the language very efficiently. For the service, I like that she is very attentive alongside some other crew that assist us whenever we need it We will definitely visit again Maraming Salamat Cindy!
