The bar is so low for these “middle eastern” restaurants. They knock off the recipe and make it super Americanized to market a larger population. This place is like a chipotle but with shawarma and kabob instead of chicken and steak. I really wish they would have actual recipes instead of just attempt to use the base ingredients.I ordered a wrap and ended up with a pita sandwich instead. The sandwich was filled with so much hummus that I couldn’t taste the meat, and the salads they put in there didn’t add to any of the texture or flavor.It would help to season the meat properly before putting it on the grill or shank.

I’m so happy that I’ve been introduced to the amazing Mediterranean cuisine at Soon Soom! The pita 🥙 is FRESH and fluffy 😋. They packed my pita with lots of meat which is never a bad thing in my book! All of the ingredients were very fresh and delicious. The restaurant has a great vibe and is very clean. The staff and owner(s) are very friendly and inviting! I would highly recommend this place to my friends! 👍🏼😎

Delicious Mediterranean food in big portions! Got the plates which came with 1 protein, 4 sides, choice of carbs and pita bread. Loved the variety of sides and the flavors of everything. Well worth the $15 per plate. There is some indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly staff, especially girl at the register. Highly recommended and I would eat here again.

This is an excellent Mediterranean quick bites restaurant. The food is always extremely fresh, and as a vegetarian, I have only tried the falafel so far. They make the falafel fresh on the spot for you, which is great to see. The pita sandwich is excellent and you can also get a plate with pita bread on the side to get more food! The staff has always seemed very helpful and happy to answer questions. I just wish they would label all the different toppings so you know exactly whats in them. Update: 2 years later and still just as excellent!

One of my favorite restaurants in Thousand Oaks. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and I’m addicted to their fried egg plant slices along with their fried cauliflower.On the dessert side the baklava is excellent. Also the customer service is always the best! Great food with great people!

Before my visit today, this place was one of my favorite mediterranean food, but today Friday, October 27th, was the worst place you can imagine, the food looks old and the smell wasnt right.But the big problem was after 30 minutes, vomiting and diarrhea.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎never going to stop there anymore

My clients wanted to try this restaurant as its fairly new to our area. I had the falafel plate where you get to choose 4 sides. It was a lot of food, enough for 2 meals. The falafel was delicious. I wasnt a fan of the hummus but overall, the food was good.

I ate here 3 times cause my tesla needed charging. Ate beef schwarma. The first visit the beef was a bit to Crispy and burnt. I wasnt about to go back because of this. 2nd visit I was to hungry and didnt feel like getting pizza next door and got a pita. It was better. 3rd visit got the plate and beef schwarma it was great!

As it says, Fresh!!! To put to perspective, this place is a Mediterranean version of say a Mexican food joint like Chipotle. And its super fresh. The veggies were krispy fresh, the meat is slow cooked and sliced out in front of us and if we need it more crispy, we can ask them for it. We can either go with the khubz version or the plate version. And it just fills you up. Do try their chicken and beef version, both are unique.

I went for lunch at Soom Soom with 8 co-workers and everyone loved their meal. Soom Soom offers a Mediterranean menu with a mix of Persian, Lebanese and Israeli food items. Their food is very flavorful and the portions are generous. They have huge wraps and even huger plates, which come with a whopping 4 sides, in addition the entree protein. They have chicken and beef shawarma sliced directly from a slow-turning, vertical spit, beef koobideh, chicken kebob, ribeye steak, as well as roasted cauliflower and felafel for the non-meat eaters. They have a large selection of sides, including hummus, babaghanoush, tabouli salad, Mediterranean salad, pickled cucumber salad, red cabbage slaw, yellow basmati rice, Israeli couscous, and more. They also have an a la carte menu with stuffed grapes leaves, fries, and many of the above sides. They have a couple of desserts, including baklava and chocolate mousse. I highly recommend you try Soom Soom for a hearty and healthy meal thats not too heavy on the wallet.

I think soom soom fresh makes the best hummus in los angeles. Its a small place (a bit of a hole in the wall, although I think they need to open ASAP more location in thousand oaks and woodland hills. (im personally coming all the way from woodland hills which is 30 min drive for me but its worth it every mile and mile i am driving for that amazing food) The servers were very kind and talked me out of ordering more food, telling me there was enough food coming. (And they were right -- the servings here are big.)

I asked to substitute couscous and protein with more couscous I ended up getting less couscous. The manager mentioned you can have only half pita bread. Such a shame for $15.00 plate. You ask them nicely you don’t eat meat and no falafel and all you ask is to substitute it with more couscous but they very cheap with portions.Also be careful they pretend to be Hallal but in reality it is not a hallal food. They use it as marketing tool.Conclusion : hallal food should have a certification which they failed to show me, and they did not substitute the protein and falafel by adding more couscous.Save your money there are many other places who sell HALLAL.

We found this place when we were driving to LA and needed a Tesla charging station. We stumbled upon this restaurant randomly and glad we did, it was dinner time! If you like falafels, pita and hummus, youve come to the right place.When you order a plate, the portions are large. You get to pick rice or coucous and 3 salads on the side of your hummus and falafel. Pita comes fresh out of the oven.They have lots of outdoor and indoor seating. The restaurant is kept clean and tables cleared. Its more of a fast food joint, as you order and pay at the counter and bring your food to your table yourself, but its great for a quick stop when on route.

I actually think their food is great, but they have an annoying policy where if you want fries in your pita, you need to buy a $4 side of fries and put them in yourself.Listen lady... youre the one with the gloves and I dont need all those french fries. Charge me $2 and use 10% of the french fries that come in a side order and put them in my pita. Its better business because youll have more people that pay the $2 upsell and you wont waste nearly as much food.Leaving this 1 star review until they change this policy.

We are new to the area and just happened upon this restaurant and I’m so glad we did. My husband says I’m hard to please when eating out and this place really checked all my boxes. I could get half of my plate full of deliciously seasoned vegetables, the hummus is the best I’ve had in a long time, and the rice and meats were well flavored. We went back again a few days later because I was craving it and it was just as good the second time. We ordered the plates, both the chicken and beef, and my husband got the wrap/pita and said it was delicious. The portion sizes are really big so possibly enough for two people to share. The best part was I didn’t feel weighed down after and was completely satisfied. Inside it looks a little run down but don’t let that stop you. New favorite place!

This place was absolutely awful.The chicken I was served was covered in salt. I love salty food but this was completely over powering. Unfortunately I took it to go and ended up throwing it out after 2 bites.To add, I was the only person ordering at the time. The meat shaver the worker was using would not work and he had to keep adjusting the cord. It took 3 employees and 10 mins until they realized they could just use a knife to cut the salted chicken off.Im really not sure how this place has such good reviews, the service and food is horrible.

I love the food but recently noticed that my online orders have been lacking in the size of the chicken in the chicken breast plate.I placed the same online order again only requesting 2 sides instead of 4. One side was incorrect, but the way my very small chicken breast was packed was the best (not) surprise!The chicken and rice was separately packed in two small round containers! 🙃However, generally the food is great.I guess Ill have to eat in; no more online orders.

This is a popular place and with good reason! I ordered the chicken shawarma (plate). It was a lot of food (for $14): Hummus, salad, rice, chicken, and spicy sauce. Plus, they gave me some warm, soft bread. They didnt hurry me while I was looking at the menu, even though there was a line.I was a little nervous because, in my experience, places that offer a lot of food sometimes offer quantity over quality. However, the food was delicious! The plate was good quality too, not just a paper plate.Although I was hungry and thought that I would eat it all, I soon realized that I would need a box. They gave me a very nice box. I ate the leftovers the next day and that was a full meal too!Good food and good service. I plan to visit again.

Best dolmades i have ever had. The salads are completely unleashed. This is the kind of restaurant that makes you second guess if you have ever really had good food in your life. You will be eating the cabbage salad thinking i never knew cabbage was really my favorite food then think the exact same thing about beets and tabouli. Even the pita bread is like some supermodel unrealistic idealized pita bread. It was like a damn pillow. I have no idea how they take such modest foods and make them taste better than anything you have experienced.

I dont know what went wrong here...all the reviews seemed so great. But I must say it was gross. I ordered a beef shawerma plate and it was flavorless. Everything was flavorless, especially the so-called hummus. The only thing I enjoyed was the pita and garlic sauce. Such a waste of money. If you are expecting real Mediterranean flavor, go elsewhere. Not worth the money.

Soom Soom Mediterranean restaurant was very good. Although we go by it often on our way to see a movie at Cinepolis, we had never really thought to give it a try until our friends and a family member told us how much they liked it. You order at the counter, similar to a Chipotle or Panda Express, picking out what you want. Their plates and pita/wrap sandwiches are excellent. I recommend the plates! For just $2 more you get a plate of food that can easily accommodate 2 people.....much more food with several side dishes than the pita/wrap. Their hand cut fries are excellent, too. Give them a try. You wont be disappointed.

I have been twice at Soom Soom shortly after it opened and was glad to have found a great Mediterranean restaurant in our area. The third time we got take out, the server wasnt familiar with the different dishes and most of the food was not good and landed in the trash. Then the other day I got some hummus for a party, and while I tried to let my guests know that this was the real thing, I was very disappointed when tasting it. It was thick and sticky instead of smooth and creamy. Not going to go there anymore.

I stopped by and decided to try this new spot amongst the boring food places around. The food is fresh. The salads are delicious. I ordered a plate (which comes with four sides of your choice) with the beef koobideh and I was delighted with how all the flavors merged. Not too sweet, not too salty. Perfect seasoning! And the koobideh was seasoned and cooked to perfection! They have some dishes I hadn’t encountered at most Mediterranean places I have gone to as well as some delicious desserts.

I went there with my two kids and my husband. We were the last customers. While I was paying, I noticed that the cook emptied the bowl of meat on the grill and after a very few stirs, he put it on my plate. When I got the plate, my red meat was bloody and raw. I went back and said my meat is not cooked. He called another guy and while I was sitting, they looked at me like Im from a different planet. When I got back my cooked meat, it was one third of what I had at first time! But I didnt say anything. When my husband got his plate, there was hardly any meat on his plate. But he said nothing as he doesnt want to ruin his time. When he went to get some white pickele radish, the guy said that he has to pay extra. My husband said he just wants a few pieces. He put just three pieces on his plate!!! It was so insulting. Our night was ruined and we promissed we never go back to this place.

Recently tried the new Westlake Village location. I ordered a pita which comes with up to 4 salads inside the pita. I asked if I could have the salads on the side instead of inside the pita and the lady refused and was fairly rude about it. The man behind me ordered chicken breast plate and was told he should get chicken swamara because it’s easier. Good food, not good customer service.

The food is very good. However, they have a ridiculous policy that has left a sour taste in my mouth.French Fries belong in Shawarma. Asking me to pay for an entire side ( $4) when asking for a few fries to be placed in my pita is wrong. Charge me $1 and ill be fine with that, but your current policy does not work.This seems to be a common theme among the reviews and its time to take action, Soom Soom! Please listen to your customers. We have other options that understand the importance of fries in pita and I expect you to follow.I will update my review when your policy has changed.
