We arrived at 1:20pm, but there is still a line. We have to wait for 25min.However, the wait worth it.All the dishes we ordered tasted great! Portions are large too! We especially love the chinese pancake and the pork bun. The sweet and sour fried pork slices is also authentic!There are plenty of choices to try and we will come again.

We went for breakfast and absolutely enjoyed the food! They offer so many authentic Chinese breakfast options, such as the classic sweet soy milk & fried dough. The sweet soy milk portion is much larger than we expected, enough for 2 people to share. The fried dough is very crispy, loved it! We also had the Chinese chive pocket, it’s full of fillings! Food portion is great, we packed left out for next day’s breakfast. Great value. Will definitely come back again!

Parents really enjoy this place, but most of the food is just alright. The seafood winter melon soup is really good. The eggplant is good, and the beef pancakes are great as well. The Dan Dan noodles were bitter. Service usually pretty friendly. We come here pretty often and the food taste varies quite dramatically. The free red bean soup is great.

I was not impressed with the food we ordered. Pork fried rice, sweet and sour pork and egg rolls. All were bland tasting. The rice tasted …..like rice, the sweet and sour pork tasted like soggy breaded pork and the egg rolls tasted like they were frozen and thawed. Won’t be back. Oh and a communications problem with the young guy working the cash register and understanding English.

I have been dining at this place before. Since the pandemic, this is the first time I came back. A lot of people dine in. Love the soup. The taste has been great. There are many choices, Taiwanese style and shanghai style. I don’t recommend the oyster pancake due to lack of veges on the pancake. A little disappointed. Love the soup though. Will try different one next time. Will come back again with my fiancé.

We like to come to Soong Soong on weekdays to get their lunch specials, which come with a small bowl of hot and sour soup, an entree, and your choice of steamed rice, fried rice, or chow mein. The portion size is not small at all and the price very affordable. Some entrees taste good, but some we feel are too salty for us.

Despite being one of the earliest customers and having a extremely simple order and ordinary items, I experienced an absurdly long wait time. My friends invited us to this place that they have visited for decades, since they were attending SJSU. I liked their food and the fact that they had tasty vegetarian options made it easy for some of the people in our party. Food was served quite promptly.

Really great little spot for some authentic food. Their portions are great for the money, also gotta try their hot and sour soup! And their hamburger. I have switched over to this place as my go to Chinese food. I have to go out of my way to get there but the food and prices are so much better than the place closer to me its totally worth it. I decided to have my Chinese friend order. I loved trying things! We had the V1 (sauteed pea leaves). We had the beef brisket and the spicy fish (soup??). We asked for them to not make it too spicy. The appetizer was spicy and it was too strong for me. One thing I noticed was full of Asian families. A sign of great food💕.

When I think about a hefty oily Chinese food, I come here. This place definitely has the home made feel to it. Definitely reminds me of my grandma’s cookingLove the chow mein here! The foods are inexpensive and very good in quality. They accept takeout order. A cozy and casual place. The chef really knows how to cook tasty foods without using MSG. Their dishes cover wide varieties of Chinese foods from different regions including Cantonese, Hunan, Taiwanese, and Sichuan styles. The services are not impressive and could be improved. It didnt take too much time to get a table, and the wait time for foods after order is short.Its one of my favorite restaurants in this area.

I found 2 short curly hairs in the Mapo Tofu!!!I personally liked the taste of the food so I had it multiple times. But the hairs today were just too gross... I have straight hair...I am suspicious about the cleanness of their kitchen and am very sad to lose one of my favorite restaurants.

Food is super delicious and the price is even more so. The lunch specials are mostly under $12 per one, and you get a big chunk of rice (or fried rice) + a whole plate of dish for your own. I never had any luncheon with such a reasonable price tag. I attached our receipts for proof, and we actually packed mostly of them for dinner. The only downside is that it often gets busy and the staff is a bit under number… other than that, I’d highly recommend this place!!

Waited for 40min (during this time only 3 parties was called in despite they had some large tables available the entire time) Upon checking with the front desk how much longer the wait would be, we were told by the staff ‘Go check if anyone is about to finish eating. How would I know?’. This restaurant probably doesnt value / want anyone to patronize them. Wouldn’t come again.

I have visited this restaurants for many years, and it is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Bay Area. There are so many delicious dishes to order. I believe you will find one fits your taste. I love to eat the Chinese donuts, beef burritos, fish fillet with sour cabbage. The dining environment is clean and comfortable, and the service is nice and warm. Considering everything they offer, the price is really reasonable. I would like to recommend this restaurant to everyone.

It was the 2 inch winged cockroach followed by 2 more roaches walking near our feet as we dined in broad daylight that put a huge damper on the experience.The waiter apologized several times and took care of the 3 roaches and then put a chair leg in front of the hole in the wall where the cockroaches were coming in to try to block any others.

Soong Soong is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I go there a few times a month. There are very few items on their menu that I don’t care for. Almost every dish I tried was good. I also like their weekend menu which offers Chinese snacks such as soy milk, crispy fried dough, sesame pancakes and rice balls. I highly recommend it.

Ive been coming here for years. Its a great place to eat Chinese food and they have some great selections. The prices are pretty fair and the value is in-line with expectations. They can sometimes be a bit heavy on the sauce/oil so keep this in mind if youre adverse to really greasy food. You may have to ask them to take it easy on the sauce.

This place has been my family’s go-to place for decades. There has been some changes in chefs, management and staff along the way but has always been reliable. Most recently they have upgraded their menu and freshened up the dining room. They seem busier than ever and the food is authentic enough to keep drawing both old and new diners. This is one of the best, hole-in-the-wall Chinese place. Everything is tasty and flavorful, especially BL6 Lamb with Cumin, C2 Chong Qing Spicy Chicken and SE3 Fish Fillet with Chopped Chili Peppers. You will encounter flavors that you never knew existed, and will be back for more!

So finding parking and/or a table can be tough at peak times. If theres a wait, its usually short.Unfortunately, they dont seem to take credit cards (or Apple Pay or anything else). This is a deal-breaker for me. Its the 21st century! I dont carry cash on me.I found this out *after* Id eaten. They did make an exception to allow me to pay my bill, but it was a very awkward experience.The food is great, and its very conveniently located to where I live, so Ive visited a few times, making a special effort to bring cash. But its just not convenient for me at all. I cannot understand the logic here. Accepting credit cards costs you about 2.5%. Not accepting credit cards costs you this customers entire order.

The best Ive had!!! Had relatives visiting from north and went to westgate for dim-sum but wait was 2 1/2 hours. So my brother wanted to go to the closest Chinese place because my 12 year old nephew was hungry now!I tried to argue that I know the best Chinese places around and that he didnt want to go to some place we didnt know. I lost the argument. So when we arrived it Soong Soong, there was hardly any cars in the parking lot and the place was almost empty. I tried to argue against it again to no avail. This place has such authentic Tianjin breakfast. I would come more often if I could. Their dou jiang (soy milk) is delish! So are the savory pancakes (jian bing guo zi) and the wontons. The pork burger is not too bad. Atmosphere is a little poor but that doesn’t take away from the amazing taste. Highly recommend this if you want to taste some great Chinese food.

We came there about 1 pm on saturday and it wasnt too crowded, but there were quite many people, most of them were Chinese which means its authentic enough for them. (The menu was in Chinese and english and had some pictures). The service is quite quick, prices are very reasonable. As for food, the portions are huge! We took walnut shrimp and a lunch option which said for two people. It turned out for two people included large bowl of wonton soup (broth with wontons, meat and a couple of shrimp), appetizer spring rolls, steamed rice and two large plates of pork and beef. As you can guess, we at best coped with the half of it and had to take most of it away (they provide you with containers if you ask).The only drawback I could see if you really wish to find flaws: its not superclean, the bathroom has a large sign cautioning you the floor may be wet and it partially is. But for the prices and great taste I think its worth a try. If you prefer clean and neat you might try taking stuff to go, which a lot of people also do.

In terms of hospitality, I have not seen a worse place than this one. Forget hospitality, what I got was outright hostility, and discreet racism. I believe it is because I am not Chinese, and moreover I am an Indian, it didnt help my cause at all.1. Pathetic servicea. Brought my main course before my appetizer, and when I refused to accespt main course, literally warned me Your appetizer will take 20 minutes to be ready, so be prepared for a long wait!!. And magically the appetizer gets served 1.5 minutes after the warning!b. Had to repeatedly ask for every basic thing, starting from drinking water, to even spoon and fork. And every time we ask, limited quantities got served, like 2 plastic spoons, when we asked for it, even though we were a family of 4!2. Haggling and fighting for tips - this is a first in my life. I did not leave any tips, because I was upset, and the guy forced me to add tips. My bill was $54.10, and at the guys insistence, I added $2.90, to make it a sort of round figure. The guy refused to accept the same, and said minimum suggested tips is 15%. When I refused to obliged, he literally threatened me, and said you shouldnt come back here!!MY ADVICE:IF YOU ARE NOT CHINESE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE INDIAN, PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR DINNER!!

I love Chinese (who does not?), and I love Soong Soong. They have a very large selection of dishes, most of them delicious, I am not sure how they can produce so many (Chinese secret). As I like it healthy and spciy, one of my favorites is Szechuan Prawns. Also Sauteed Clam with Basil. This is authentic and it is worth exploring some in their long list. Enjoy!

DONT GO!! My friends and I went to the shops nearby, and needed a place for lunch. We found a small WORM in one dish!!! So disgusting, we left right away even the waitress said we can still eat there for free. If you dont trust me, go inside and see it yourself. It is so dirty inside the restaurant. One of the few places that has shanghai yellow croaker noodle soup and jian bing!! They also have soymilk and some interesting hot soup dishes. Quite authentic with food from both taiwan and mainland china. The prices are still reasonable (at least for the Bay Area). The menu is huuuuge, so youre bound to find something youll like!!

Very good chinese food at reasonable price. Not in a popular location, but it has been a restaurant thAt returned customer like best.some very popular dishes include steamed fish, fried pork, some stewed soup, etc. Usually parking not a big deal.
