Having previously frequented Sozo during our time in Dublin, we made a pit stop on our drive from Los Angeles to Napa. My husband and i were so happy to find the food retained its great quality from pre-COVID times, and the service remained exceptional. We had the bento with BBQ beef and crispy tempura, as well as their Korean-style chirashi bop, which undoubtedly the best I have ever tasted.

I came here with my middle child for a mommy and daughter date. She loved the food and told me its so delicious so many times while eating. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The portion was huge. The atmosphere was very family friendly, clean and bright. The service was amazing! Ill definitely come back with my whole family.

Sweet staff, average sushi and average restaurant environment. We just happen to be in the area we were pretty desperate in finding a sushi place on our way home home, this was the highest rated one near by. Portions and pricing was pretty fair.

YUM YUM YUMThe quality of the fish is ridiculously good compared to how cheap their prices are. We got an omakase special with Toro and other delicious cuts! It also included some of rolls and nigiri pieces and it was only 30 dollars per person. Super filling, super fresh, and super delicious!! Highly recommend making a reservation, especially if you wanna do a special omakase (its not really on their menu but u think you can ask for it)

Food was super fast, very tasty. This was my first time at Sozo, but I had heard great things about it before trying it out. The service was prompt and professional, and the wait staff checked in with our group enough to notice when we needed refills on drinks.

I was actually surprised with how good the quality was for the prices. Noticeably less expensive than some of my other favorite sushi spots over in San Ramon. I tried five different rolls and some tuna nigiri, all worth coming back for. I will definitely be trying some more of their rolls in the future because the sushi rolls menu is huge.

Sozo sushi will always hold a very special place in my heart since it was the first sushi place I went to EVER back in highschool 20+ yrs ago. First time I have had the avocado, tuna and mango combo too! Which I crave and always get when I visit back home.

Covid update 1/2022:Open for dining in. Bathroom available. Plenty of tables available on Saturday afternoon.Good atmosphere. Korean owned and operated. Food are fresh. Teriyaki beef was seared and tender. The rolls tasted fresh. Price is comparable to other similar restaurant in the area. Ample parking in the plaza.

One of if not the BEST Sushi restaurants in the East Bay. Welcoming host/servers as were always greeted with a smile. Love the food from the Sushi to the Bentos. Ive been coming here for over 25 years. I love the Grilled Tuna Salad. Today it was AWFUL! And the service was worse. It was stale and squishy and fishy smelling. I called them and brought it back asking them to remake it. The man who made it was extremely rude. Had me in tears. He should be fired! I am complete appalled and insulted. BAD SERVICE! BAD STINKY SMELLY FISH!

I liked this place. The food was good. Its a nice family that runs and owns it. Good fresh tea. All made to order food. They have a thriving to go order business. And thats probably because the atmosphere, while clean, is missing a feel. Regardless, I would send people here because the food is good. I was very happy. I had a Waikiki Roll and a Dragon Roll. Lightly spicy each. The miso soup was good too. Very much tasted like bone broth and had a little tofu in it.Try it out!!

Overall this was a very nice experience. I found that the wait staff responded very quickly to any requests made my either of my children or myself. In addition, the wait staff understand English very well, unlike some of the other Sushi restaurants near its vicinity. We will definitely be returning to this establishment in the near future.

It was our first time at Sozo Sushi and we are glad that we tried it. I randomly selected this place from Google Maps when my daughter told me that she was craving for Japanese food.Just to set expectations, this place may not be Japanese owned and operated. Just for some who are experts on Japanese sushi and expect it to be a pure Japanese sushi experience. I am not an expert but after going to many Japanese sushi restaurants the quality of how they cut the fish and ingredients on dishes are different.However, it does not mean that the quality at Sozo is bad. It is the opposite. The fish are fresh, the portions on the sashimi are generous. and all the cooked food that we ordered are delicious! In addition to salmon and toro sashimi, we ordered beef sukiyaki, tempura, and grilled squid.Most importantly, we love the staff! It felt like family welcoming us. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and the service was very, very good!We will certainly eat here again and I highly recommend it! Try it at least once, you will not regret it!

This place is alright. The quality is average and portions are good. Their slices of sashimi is ok, not as generous as other places. The cleanliness is so so. Wed see flies flying around sometimes. Overall, its a decent place to take the kids and family. We go here mainly bc of the convenient location and easy parking. (We used to go to Sendo on Hopyard all the time; however, the former owner retired and their qualitys gone down since the management change.) This place caters more to the Americanized taste buds, but its a good place overall to take the family.

Ive been coming here for over 5 years, and the food and service is always consistent. They prefer you call ahead for parties of 5+, but will still seat you if theres room. Good variety if sushi options, and quality is consistent with the season (so avocado in January isnt as good as in July, but still of good quality).

Very disappointed in the service tonight!!Ive been a patron of this establishment for over 10 years and came to have dinner with my family & old friends after being out of the area for more than a few years. The food is still great but felt like I was expected to pay and leave 5 minutes after finishing meal, the servers are NOT friendly and very pushy in making you uncomfortable to the point that they almost make you leave. Id completely understand if the restaurant was busy but it was surprisingly dead for a Friday night. (As I recall from years past, the line would be out the door. I guess now i know why that was not the case this time) Im very sad to say that I will not be returning...EVER!!

I have family in the Tri-Valley and met my cousin for lunch one day, who works downtown Pleasanton. I had the yaki-soba and it was awesome.
