Food was great!Lamb stone pot noodle soup: 5/5, delicious and huge portions! Could easily be shared by 2-4 people. I went with the spiciest option which was red oil. It was about medium spicy for me.Dried radish with cured pork: 4/5, I saw one review mentioning this item as an authentic dish and I ordered out of curiosity. It was good but had very little pork, especially for the price.

The service was quick and efficient. You just put your name on the notepad outside and theyll call you. Came here around noon and waited around 15mins.The noodle soup was pretty bland but the meat was tender. The mixed noodle was more favor but too greasy where it leaves a layer of oil in your mouth.The leek pocket wasnt crispy enough outside and the leek didnt have much favor. The soup pan fried bun was the best item where the bun is soft on top and crispy at the bottom. Plenty of soup inside and the meat didnt taste off but did have a strong cooking wine.Overall, I wouldnt recommend getting the noodles and only the soap pan fried bun if you want to try this place out but definitely not worth a revisit.

Lamb STONE pot stays hot for a long time but very spicy. I wish the sichuan hot oil could be put on the side so the soup is not as spicy.Stirfry noodle is good but theres not many herb, just cilantro.Soup dumpling is average.

This is by far the best place to get the SJB (sheng jian bao). The guo tie fried dumplings and the XLB are amazing too. I always get the hot pot noodles, you cant go wrong with any of the soups. This time, I got the non-spicy because my mom doesnt really like spicy and she absolutely loved it. We also ordered the preserved egg and green pepper dish, which was interestingly a cold dish.Lots of people which makes me really happy. I think back on a few years ago when this place was called Yummy Yummy Bao and no one came in to eat. Im so proud of what theyve done for themselves.I do think the staff are doing their best to serve a ton of customers, but I did feel like they were a lot more rushed nowadays. Actually, part of the reason I got the hot pot noodle was because I liked how the person used to take their time to put it together, but now they just slapped it together in 3 seconds and it kinda felt less special. They also seemed so rushed, one of the staff kicked into my chair leg as they passed by. Not a big deal, but I just sorta miss when they were a bit more careful and deliberate.

It did not disappoint!Loved the pan fried dumplings. Even after letting it cool for a few minutes, the hot soup burned my mouth... yeah! Haha. I love really hot soup but even I had to chill a bit longer before devouring it.Also ordered the sticky rice with pork, green beans, beef wrap, and XLB soup dumplings.The green beans were way too salty but everything else was good.Update:I tried the green beans with eggplant and it was on the bland side. Not bad, just okay.

We have visited here a couple of times. They have good, authentic food. It could get busy at times but worth the wait. We have tried a variety if their dishes and everything was delicious! Their noodle soups and stir fried noodles were great! My son loves the Shanghai style dumplings and the pan fried buns.

My friend didnt like that menu and ordering had to be done through the qr code. But I think you can also get the staff to help you if you need assistance.Food tastes fresh and authentic. We especially like the shredded potatoes. Staff were efficient and fast.The place was quite busy during the evening we visited so I guess business was good and reservation prob will be good.

Cool place to eat. One of my go to spots in McCarthy Ranch. My favorite is their braised pork belly, though I think their recipe for this has changed recently. Try their fried soup buns! It can get crowded during peak times. You order through your phone, grab your To go boxes yourself, but I dont mind.Decor is pretty weird in here. Looks like a Texas Roadhouse, but their plateware and food is Chinese.

I would give 6 stars if I can. Very good quality of noodle dishes! We had spicy beef mixed noodle and spicy beef noodle soup. Both are AMAZING. Highly recommended. Will come again to try different dishes for sure. Don’t miss.

As a lifelong beef noodle soup lover, I was extremely disappointed in at least the clear one…. Half of it was literally just udon noodles that I can buy at Costco for $18. Disgusting one of worst beef noodle soups I’ve had in a while. If you want one go to xian nearby.The stone pot soups have much more flavor and are much better but everything is way over priced.Only giving some stars because of good service and nice decorations. I cannot emphasize how much I was disappointed in the nonspicy beef noodle soup. Barely any soup, no flavor, disgusting noodles, good beef but only like 4 pieces.

Babe here on a Friday at lunch time to meet with someone who was going through hard times. There were no issues getting a seat and service was standard, which tends to be the experience in Asian restaurants. Not friendly, or prompt, or memorable, but not mean or rude. This restaurant seems to be one of those places that specializes in the beef noodle soup with thenumb sauce. I dont know how to describe it. Ive had it before at a restaurant in downtown Mountain View on Castro that I decided to patronize because it had a long line and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. This flavor is unique. Unlike anything Ive ever tasted before and have not tasted in any other food. I dont know what numbing sauce is but I get what it means based on the taste alone. This version here came in a large portion big enough for two and consists of an oily broth, slippery round noodles, and beef slices. It is one of the few noodle soups I have had where I do not drink the broth which I find to be a shame. We also had dumplings which were standard. Not memorable. My rating is a bit odd here. I dont care for it, would not go back, and would prefer elsewhere if people wanted to go, but I could probably find other things to eat from menu if I ended up there again. This is not the fault of the establishment. Just my preference for this kind of food, specifically this seemingly popular soup, and the venue does not provide anything else that makes up for it. If you are into this kind of soup, I have no way of letting you know how it compares to the other version I had. But based on the patronage, as the restaurant filled out by the time we left where it wasnt when we arrived at noon, it seems like people dig it.

It is named with noodle, it serves Pan Fried Pork Soup Dumplings(Sheng Jian Bao). The decor is cool for a good dining experience, the cooking time is kind of long.It is a mixed place, cannot easily recommend, one can try it out and figure out if it is good or not.

We have been here multiple times, but our recent visit was beyond disappointing.The pork xiao long bao (soup dumpling) we ordered was raw.. My boyfriend and I both bit into it and I opened one of the pork xiao long bao and it was mushy and pink inside. The soup inside was lukewarm, which already showed that something wasnt right. Serving uncooked pork is a mistake that restaurants shouldnt be making. This is a food poisoning concern and we felt truly disgusted afterwards.Honestly we are very disappointed from this experience. The servers were understanding and helped us refund and canceled this xiao long bao order. I hope they can learn from this and that this problem wouldnt happen to other customers. We will definitely not be returning.

Definitely one of the better restaurants out there. Chill atmosphere in the restaurant. The Xiao Long Bao was extremely juicy and I would definitely recommend. Green Onion Pancakes were oily, but decently good. Beef Roll Wrap was basically green onion pancakes with lots of veggies and some meat. Good for its value. The Dan Dan noodles were pretty good. However, it is somewhat spicy. Good to go along with some sorta meat. We also ordered a giant meatball. It was very interesting, and juicy. The pan fried buns were soft on top and crunchy on the bottom - a very nice combination. Overall the restaurants dishes are good for a nice dinner.

Surprisingly tasty food. Their pan fried dumpling is a must try and order it early as it does take time to cook. The hand pull noodles is fresh with the pork belly and soup. Another favorite is their spicy intestines that is an acquired taste because some find the smell of the intestine too pungent.

$9.99 Kao Leng Mian comes with 3 small pieces. You might as well just rob me on the street for that.As for Xiao Long Bao, the meat is not seasoned at all. As a Shanghainese, I am actually enraged by how they make this Xiao Long Bao. The soup inside tastes so plaine that made me question if I had covid.And for Sheng Jian. I am speechless. The crust on the bottom of it is done by an amateur. As for the dough... You might as well call it Bao Zi instead, which is more acceptable to me. Again, it is not seasoned and the amount of sesame on it is pretty much non-existent.Service is mediocre. I gotta say environment is way much nicer than the food for a RESTAURANT lol.

The foods taste was below average. The dumpling and pan fried bun are supposed to be their best dishes but both were really disappointing, tasting much worse than even the ones you can get frozen at asian supermarkets, which is setting the standards pretty low.The only dish that stood out, out of the 5 we ordered was the green bean and eggplant stir fry. Although way too sweet, it was cooked well.The place is decorated very fancy, but tables are way too small to fit the food since they use larger plates to fake a bigger portion. The waiters are not trained well, and are scrambling to figure things out. They forgot to give many tables spoons for the dumplings, which has very hot soup inside. Even though our table was full, the waiter refused to bring back the dish and other dishes we have for a later time, when the table cleared up and stacked the plates, containing hot food on top of each other, which could spill and burn us if were not careful.In addition to the under ground, rock& vintage style decorations with guitars and car models. Interestingly, there is a karaoke machine that customers are free to use in the store.If you want to have a small party and doesnt care about taste so much. This place could work out.

Didn’t stand out. The bottom, the fried part, was way too crunchy and greasy. Fried in too much oil. Tasted like extra crunchy greasy dough.Noodles were good. Not great. Soupy-est dan dan mien and a chili like sauce.My favorite dishes were the crunchy cucumber appetizer and the steamed osmanthus cake. The steamed cake was a great palate cleanser after a bunch of spicy dishes. It had a nice QQ texture, mild flavor, just a little bit of sugar. Not a hint of osmanthus, whatever that taste like.If I want a good noodle dish or good 包, this place would not come to mind.

Was specifically looking for Dan Dan noodles and on their QR code only menu, the image appeared to have the kind of Dan Dan Noodles we wanted. There was no way to communicate our request because the wait staff spoke zero English. The food served to us was not what was on the menu in the image. We had to use google translate to explain the issue. It was just a horrible experience. I would give 1 star but the soup dumplings were really good. But I will not be coming back here. Sorry, I need a little more effort from the establishment to communicate more effectively.

This is a surprising delight. We did not tried the soup dumplings, but got the fried buns, house special noodles, steamed chicken in chili oil and greens.The noodles were super al-dente and the soup is a sweet and sour soup base which was really good.The friend buns — probably one of the best ones in town. Thin crust and tons of juices inside be warned, the juices are burning hot. We really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back.

My new favorite in this Chinese restaurant circle! Whenever I am on a business trip I went to QQ noodle next door until I see this place. Went in got seated immediately. Ordered 3 dishes from the menu, cucumber with garlic, noodle and the bao. Service is fast and had a nice conversation with the waiter, learning which dishes are good. My rating of the 3 dishes I order is noodle 10, bao 8 and cucumber 5. Noodle is very chewy which is awesome, soup was great and the spicy level is great for me. Bao is a version of the real thing from Shanghai area. The waiter told me how to eat it and they are great, just not as great as the noodle. Then the cucumber is also good but it’s a bit too sweet for my taste for the sauce. But highly recommend this place and will be back for more.

It is great newly opened restaurant that is still in soft-opening phase. The dining area is very clean with simple wooden tables. I like the the background music that were gentle, soft and moody. My favorite foods are shen-jian-bao (生煎包）. One of the best in bay area! Definitely recommend to any one who likes the Northern Chinese food.

If you are in the mood for some dumplings and Baos, this is the place for you. We walked by and noticed a soft opening for the place and saw it was packed. So we decided to check it out after seeing the menu. The menu they give is an iPad which was pretty neat and you just place your order through it. We saw the dumplings and knew immediately what we needed to try. We didnt realize we ordered so much as the portions are much larger than we expected. We ordered the pork fried dumpling, xiaolong bao, sweet and sour pork, Dan Dan noodles, and beef pancake. Everything was delicious, and we had plenty to bring home. The only downside is that most of the staff spoke Chinese and communicating would a bit difficult if your didnt speak the language. At the end it seems like they were rushing us by cleaning up everything even before we paid. I guess thats to be expected since they were really busy. But overall, great place to try and grab lunch at! We recommend it.

Came here on Sunday night and we were seated immediately. The menu has plenty of options and all of them looked so tasty. The menu is an iPad which is different than the usual paper style. Awesome new restaurant specializing in Chinese baos and buns. We visited during the soft opening and really enjoyed their yummy yummy bao and wontons. Note that the dishes have more of a Southern Chinese flavor so theyre sweeter than you might expect. The restaurant was spacious and the service fast so its worth a visit!

I tried this place for the first time, and I was impressed. I had the Chives bao, Pork & shrimp XLB, Spicy beef noodle soup, Yummy yummy bao, and Sichuan dan dan noodles. Everything tasted amazing.The Sichuan dan dan noodles tastes like no other Sichuan places Ive been too. It was so flavorful and aromatic that I forgot how oily it was. My cousin liked it so much that he ordered a separate bowl of rice just to finish off the soup.The decor is like an Americana Modern Rustic. Theres a kareoke section that I would assume they use later in the evening.I will definitely be going there some time soon and frequent.

Totally disappointing..The pan fried bun was not bad, it doesn’t have that much flavor. Have to add some chilly sauce to have more flavor.The yummy bao was BAD. I never see a more sad and disappointing flat pork bun until now. This bao taste like frozen and just re steam. The bao was not fluffy not tasty, and just sad.The spicy beef noodle soup was sour and very smalls.I like the design of the restaurant but the food was terrible. Do not come here, save your money.

When this restaurant Yummy Yummy Bao first opened, I had expected something as good as the previous Beer Bear Grill, but something is not right with this restaurant. I went there with my co-worker for lunch during their soft opening, but their lunch specials were not available. Nobody brought us water or menu for a long while.After we finally ordered, it took another at least 20min for the first dish to show up. The preserved meat in our dish is just salt bomb, no idea how anyone could eat it. We complained and they offered to cook another one for us, but we didnt want to wait for another 30min and not sure how the dish would be any different if the meat quality has issues. Their 生煎包 was among the worst Ive had. They are small, skin was too thick, not juicy inside. The odd shape of the Bao (small and tall) makes it difficult to dip in sauce.While we waited, several waiters and waitress came and went confused about which table ordered what. Us, and our neighbors were all unhappy about how messy the logistic was as if its their first time running a restaurant.When we paid, they said its CASH ONLY while theres no sign of it being CASH ONLY. I was annoyed by that.Overall, poor service and terrible food. For the price you are paying and the quality of food/service you get, I strongly suggest against going there.

Spicy wonton tastes normal. However vege bao tastes like frozen ones from 99 Ranch. Disappointed with nothing surprised. Went during soft opening which was chaotic with too few servants. Cigarette smoke was let in with continuously opened doors during dinner time. Lots of issues when other customer order with ipad, so your iPad/app actually does not save you any labor cost. Noodles and dumplings look with better taste than your pan-fried baos. Dont want to pay for your refurbish cost instead of the food again.

Good was great; dishes were served promptly and fresh. Fried items were crisp and hot so no complaints there.The only thing that irked me at our last visit was their insistence to serve their food next to our only infant on the table (she sat towards the middle in a table of 8, 2 rows of 4 facing each other). Edit: I definitely recommend getting the fried bun (pork and soup inside a fried bun!) The take out process was seamless and intuitive however I pick up here often (at least over 10 times since I wrote this review) and they’ve gotten my order wrong a few times but bc it’s already packaged up, we don’t find out until we get home which sucks). They have a tablet in front with a picture associated with every food item and a payment tablet for card or Apple Pay there as well! Food takes about 20 mins after ordering so usually call in ahead or come, order then get a boba in the meantime at Gong Cha a couple doors down.

Ive had lots of soup dumplings but not pan fried ones and these were by far the best thing we had. The pork belly with noodles was also excellent. Great service and food. I got the spicy lamb bowl with rice. It came with a very tasty soup. You could tell the ingredients are fresh. The hostess was very sweet from the beginning. I came here with a reservation and a group of 4 and this place was packed! Make sure you make that reservation to get in.Good:- the food was wonderful! I love some good Chinese food and this was definitely comfort food for me. Loved the noodles here like the beef noodle soup and the tomato egg noodles. Very tasty and authentic Shanghai style food. We had fried pork buns (6pcs, tasty but small in size), wontons in hot sauce (not too spicy but tasty), pork belly special noodles (with thick noodles, and just like I had many times in Shanghai), and Dan Dan noodles (very tasty as well). They had 2 types of hot sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, and toothpicks on the table. You order on your phone via QR code, and pay at the end the standard way with a paper check. I visited this place twice during my short visit to Fremont. I really liked it. The flavor of food is very delicious and traditional. The service is fast and friendly. I like the 生煎包 and 小笼包 a lot. Their pan fried dumplings(生煎包) taste really good!!! They are not the authentic kind from Shanghai because they have thick and fluffy skin instead of thin skin, but I still enjoyed them a lot. Other items can be a hit or miss. Yummy yummy bao are worth a try but soup dumplings were not so great. We also had stir fried thick noodles which was super flavorful, but black bean noodles(炸酱面) and chill oil wonton(红油抄手) were not so great.

I felt as though I was ignored. I walked in during their soft opening and was greeted with pleasant music and nothing else. The guy standing at the counter did not engage with me or ask me if i wanted to eat in or take out. I opened the menu using a QR code and sat down a skimmed the menu. After 5-10 minutes (not sure exactly) the guy by the counter had not moved to come to me or find out what I needed or to help me order. Pretty poor service for a soft opening. Hope this gets addressed before the grand opening. I did not feel very welcome. I will give them another shot in the future.

This is the place to go in South Bay if you like pan-fried foods. Theyre still in soft open so not all menu items are available but I do see more and more showing up each week. Id recommend their pan-fried dumpling, XLB, and beef roll.Decoration is nice and lots tables available. There is usually a wait but the serving speed isnt bad so the waiting list move fast (they use system which notifies user by SMS when your table is ready).

The singer comes every Saturday 7pm and Sunday 8pm. Food there is good, but keep in mind that most of their food is Shanghai style and taste a little bit sweet. The environment is nice and cozy, singers songs are kinda old style but make you feel warm.The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because their dishes are kinda short in weight, for example, the nearly 80% of the Fen Zheng Rou while normally it should has around 50% pork ribs in it.

If you think it’s better than Dahua’s frozen steamed buns, I suggest you go back to China and try Xiaoyang Shengjian to avoid being embarrassed. Because I like Sijies fremont main store, I decided to come here to eat. The more I eat, the more I feel aggrieved. Bad review!
