Spicy Sugar Thai Mid-City in Los Angeles

Okay, I spotted this new Thai restaurant cruising La Brea near San Vicente. Looked interesting so I did some surfing on the chef/owner and I had the feeling it would be good but they surpassed my expectation on all counts. Beautiful plating, subtle notes (if you can say that about Thai flavors) explosive flavors that also show restraint from skilled hands. Word will soon spread and this little tucked away location will be a tough reservation.

Great local spot! Everything we ordered was on point - really flavorful, authentic and at a very reasonable price. I hope they sell their spicy green sauce in bottles some day - a little sweet, and then the heat slowly comes creeping in. Came for the first time and can’t wait to come back soon to try more dishes (probably next week, it was that good)

Tried it out for the first time today. Got my classic favorites Som Tum with sticky rice and Minced Pork Salad. Spot on, delicious, and authentic! อร่อยมากๆ

Been passing by this spot for a while now. The exterior is super fun and eye-catching so we decided to dropped by for some late night bites. We didnt really know what kind of restaurant it was, but were very pleasantly surprised that its, in fact, a super authentic Thai restaurant

Authentic menu alert! We had the Blood clam som tum, Nam tok with sticky rice, and Thai omelette. Also a truly special mango sticky rice. If you like that dessert, you MUST get it here. An instant favorite in the neighborhood!

Have to wait a long time to order.Food that should be hotis not hot enough.

Fantastic!!!Now we are so much closer to Spicy Sugar Thai in Mid City!!! We have gone to the Long Beach Restaurant since it opened a ton of times and with Chef Katt and Owners opening this Sister Restaurant, we are a hard YES!!!Thai Nachos 😵‍💫 CRAZY GOOD!!!True Thai Cooking and Flavors. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

The food and service are great, but I do feel like its too expensive, and portions, speaking for myself, are too small.

Authentic Thai Town flavors in mid city! Menu is expansive and staff is great at helping you find new flavors to try. Will be returning to try some of the off-menu.FYI the spiciness is graded on a Thai scale
