2023-09-24 02:46:52Great Authentic South Indian food! Atmosphere was good. Service was good.We had a cilantro dosa, that was really good. But paper masala dosa was not upto the mark. Dahi papdi chat was hit! Filter coffee was awesome! Must try. Mango lassi was ok.They celebrate Indian festivals thatw as really nice. Loved the ganpati decoration.

2023-08-29 15:05:24A friend recommended this and posted pics so we were craving. We ordered poori, medhu vada, plain dosa, combo#1, south Indian thali, and tea. It was pretty tasty and not too spicy(hot) for our palette. The spicier tastes were quickly doused by the raita or sweet dessert on the table. We were happy with the vada, dosa and poori, we liked the crispiness and flavors of the sauces. Service is nice. This evening we tried street food in their outdoor court. It was a fun experience especially the puri bar where they make your bite while you are standing nearby. They give a choice of hot, medium or mild so that was nice. Try the dessert, punugulu, it looks like a dumpling but filled with coconut and sugar. The Chaai Biscuit is simple but it goes well with the tasty tea.

2023-07-10 09:18:54Visited Sri Ananda Bhavan in Sunnyvale a few days back.First we went to the newly opened chat counters. Mirchi Baji, masaala puri were great. Paani puri water was a little harsh on the throat. Chai was good but biscuit is avoidable. Then we went inside the restaurant and ordered masala dosa, rawa dosa and coriander dosa and shira. All Dosas were excellent, sambar was good but all 3 chutneys didn’t clear the notch. They need to improve the taste and quality of at least coconut chutney. Need not serve 3 chutneys. Shira was good.Ambiance both inside and outside is nice. Good seating. Very Good service. There’s enough parking also just next to the restaurant.Overall 4 on 5, a nice experience .

2023-08-05 17:26:30We visited this restaurant twice. Masala puri and pani puri were tasty and they have 50% off promotion which makes it economical. For dine in we ordered Mirchi Bhajji,Ghee Pudi Dosa,Idli Fry. The Idli Fry was deep fried small idlis coated with chutney powder. Idli was hard and chutney powder was a little bland which made the dish not so tasty. Also for 8.49$ the quantityof the dish was very little(as shown in pic),11 small idlis for 8.49$ is definitely pricey. We had ordered Mirchi Bhajji, the Bhajji were okish and was cold,we would not order it again. We also ordered Ghee Pudi Masala Dosa. Dosa was not cooked thoroughly, not crispy and potato sabzi was under seasoned.Out of chutneys served with dosa, the consistency was good but tastewise it was not good. Only the coconut chutney was decent. We will go back to eat chaats at live counter but wont go back for their fine dine(dosa/Idli etc).

2023-11-27 20:15:33By South Indians for South Indians, this restaurant is an authentic experience of Bangalore / Tamilnadu / Andhra cuisine. The South Indian lunch Thalis are excellent and the idli/vada/dosas are all great. But the newest feature of this place is the outdoor street food stations at night, which feature live Bangalore-style pani puri, masala chaat, and my favorite, mirchi bhajji!! Prices are super reasonable and from now until Dec 31 they have half off deals on chaats. Highly recommend, we will be back many more times.

2023-11-23 22:30:31Being a south Indian, I was disappointed with the thali(ordered Kalyana Sapadu) There was vatha kuzhambhu in one of the items which was raw tamarind, Portion sizes were less and no ghee served. Also ordered sambhar vada which was not cooked inside. Dosa was okay

2023-09-18 05:22:07We tried the stall of ananda Bhavan first time and believe me you won’t regret. All the snacks were too good in taste including Modak. Masala poori and golgappas were total hit but the best part was the environment there with the fresh music and the good seating place even when you are outside and make it happening specially during the weekend.

2023-06-18 15:25:10We visited to checkout the new stall. We got masala puri, vindalo, irani chai and osmania biscuit.Masala Puri - 1/5 (the concept of Bangalore masala puri did not come through) the pani puri was altered and made as masala puriVindalo - 5/5 it’s was super delicious crunchy on the outside and doughy and soft on the inside.Irani chai and biscuits- 4/5, the chai was really yummy. We also got paper roast masala dosa, and it was crunchy and delicious. Texture I would say 10/5 really well done. The stuffing and all the other dishes sambar, chutney were pretty good too.
