2023-11-12 02:33:45My package arrived so fast and they packed it so well to prevent things from crushing. I appreciate it! I love how they have food from home that are hard to find in America. And they keep their prices low. Thank you! Appreciate it. Will continue to shop with this place.

2021-12-29 15:53:21🇱🇰 SRI LANKA (via Eat the World Los Angeles) For those that are not as well-versed in the kitchen and just looking for options ready to eat, this is not a restaurant but the freezer section is worth checking out. They have frozen meals, appetizers, and desserts that are made and assembled in Sri Lanka for the market and shipped to sell in Los Angeles. Despite the home cooking and imported aspects of the foods, most packages are either $4.99 or $5.99, making the filling up of your freezer an economical possibility.

2023-10-15 23:15:41Sri Lankan cuisine is a delightful combination of flavors, spices, and unique dishes influenced by the countrys rich history and diverse cultural influences. Here are some popular Sri Lankan delights you should try:1. Rice and Curry: This is the staple dish in Sri Lanka. It typically consists of steamed rice served with an array of curries, including vegetable curries, lentil curries, fish curries, and chicken or mutton curries. The curries are often flavored with spices like cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and curry leaves.2. Hoppers (Appa): Hoppers are a popular Sri Lankan breakfast item. They are bowl-shaped pancakes made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk. You can have plain hoppers or egg hoppers, which have an egg cracked into the center of the pancake.3. Kottu Roti: Kottu Roti is a famous street food in Sri Lanka. It is made by stir-frying shredded godhamba roti (a type of flatbread) with vegetables, eggs, and your choice of meat or seafood. It is usually seasoned with spices and served with a spicy curry sauce.4. String Hoppers (Idiyappam): String Hoppers are thin, noodle-like strands made from rice flour. They are steamed and served with coconut sambol (a condiment made with grated coconut, chili, and spices) or curry.5. Pol Sambol: Pol Sambol is a spicy coconut relish made with grated coconut, red onions, chili peppers, lime juice, and Maldive fish flakes (optional). It is often served as a side dish with rice and curry or as a filling for hoppers and roti.6. Fish Ambul Thiyal: Fish Ambul Thiyal is a popular sour fish curry made with chunks of fish cooked in a tamarind-based sauce with spices like black pepper, cinnamon, and curry leaves. It is a signature dish from the southern part of Sri Lanka.7. Watalappam: Watalappam is a traditional Sri Lankan dessert made with jaggery (palm sugar), coconut milk, eggs, and spices like cardamom and nutmeg. It has a custard-like consistency and is often garnished with cashew nuts or grated coconut. These are just a few examples of the delightful dishes you can find in Sri Lanka. The countrys cuisine is incredibly diverse, and there are many more unique and flavorful dishes to explore.

2022-07-12 07:52:56If you want Sri Lankan food/groceries, this is the store. The worker there was friendly. The prices are a little high but everything is internationally shipped so I cant blame them. My parents go there fairly regularly.

2021-06-04 20:05:40We were thrilled to find this place as there are no Sri Lankan stores or products where we live. Within a week of placing the order we got everything by mail. The items were very well packed and we received exactly what we ordered. Highly recommend this place!

2020-03-26 19:24:40Be Aware! Placed an order and only expectation was to get the food securely. Poor packaging methods. Rice bag has been ripped and half of it has leaked to the box. When I contacted customer service, they wanted me to send back the rice bag to get a refund. I have to be take my time to collect rice from the box put it back to the bag, and send it back. RIP off. According to Lankan delight business model customer is responsible for the packaging.
