2023-12-06 22:07:50Our family of 5 came with our dogs. Never had any of us experienced a genuinely dog friendly atmosphere until Standford Inn. What a wonderful, lovely place to be. It was like arriving at your dream grandmothers home, fireplaces, music, warm smiles, and your favorite meals on the table. The food was so good. When asked back home if Standford Inn offered non plant-based food, my son exclaimed Nope, but this food is so good, who cares?. We could tell this place is operated by the heart and soul of its owners and employees. It exudes kindness with special attention to detail. As I said, its like coming home to family. Thank you, Joan and Jeff, for sharing your vision and home with us.

2023-08-14 02:14:05We had an excellent stay here at the Stanford Inn & Resort. Everything was immaculately clean (sometimes things at older inns can be showing their wear but everything here was obviously well cared for and maintained) and the amenities were luxurious. The hot tub was a haven after a hard paddle on the river, and was never crowded. The grounds are peaceful and we especially loved watching the fog roll in from the ocean each evening. If you are not vegan the included breakfast may feel challenging. I’d recommend the Continental which will get you a house-made muffin or scone and some fresh fruit or the waffles or pancakes, which are made from buckwheat and oats but taste exactly like a soft gingerbread cookie. The vegan butter melts right in, no worries there. The other dishes are much more, I’ll say “alternative” and if that’s not your thing you might be missing your more familiar flavors and textures. The portions are generous though, so whatever you order you’ll have plenty of it.

2023-10-28 16:36:57I cant say enough to express how I loved my experience at Stanford Inn. From the amazing staff, accommodations, feeling welcomed as if it was my own home, my wife and I loved our stay. Ive never heard of a pet friendly resort like this or different activities to do at the resort itself.

2023-06-26 01:52:18We loved our stay! My husband and I were in the cottage and could see the lamas from our window. They were so cute! We loved the garden and being able to walk around everywhere. The pool and jacuzzi building was so beautiful with plants all around. It was so nice to stay close to the ocean cliffs, hiking trails and a beach. We will definitely be back, but next time fly, then drive from a nearby airport because it was a long drive from San Diego.

2023-06-07 19:39:15Weve stayed at the Stanford Inn three times (both with and without our kids) and we will be back. Theres so much to rave about: from the beauty of the surroundings, to the many things to do, including canoeing at the nearby Big River (you can book for canoe ahead of time), petting the rescue animals on the property, doing yoga, taking a nutrition class, walking around the gorgeous grounds, relaxing at the indoor saltwater pool, located in a greenhouse, so you actually feel like youre outdoors, and so much more. Mendocino is less than a mile away and theres so much to explore in the area too! The rooms are comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated. Were not vegans, but we also truly appreciate what the chefs create with plant-based ingredients. And thanks for accepting dogs, even in your dining area. Such an inspiring, serene, relaxing place!

2023-07-11 04:47:26I stayed here for a few days. The property is very beautiful and the staff members were all nice to me. I commend the property for its commitment to veganism and sustainability. However, the rooms are pricey and I don’t know if the resort is worth the cost. It’s advertised as all inclusive but it’s essentially just the room, breakfast, pool, and bikes. I was still excited for the daily vegan breakfast, but the meals were hit or miss and we were still expected to pay gratuity. My breakfasts were pretty good but my boyfriend’s (who ordered different menu items) seemed reheated and not fresh. For example, chilaquiles were very soggy, as if it had been prepared a while ago, and the beans were cold. The classes and activities that are offered are pretty pricey, making it difficult to take advantage of all that the property offers. As a result of the high costs, we relied on outside food for other meals. Also, our TV’s chrome cast didn’t work the entire time we were there! Overall, it’s a pretty place and the intention is good, but it is not worth the high price. In retrospect, I would have preferred a different B&B where I could just prepare my own vegan meals.

2023-05-31 17:59:34Love this resort :) we first visited last July for the 4th with our dog, Mr. Guy, and have been an additional 2 times in the same year. We love the wood fireplaces, and the greenhouse pool/hot tub that is never busy. Also the gardens are so gorgeous to take morning walks in, and the animal friends always put a smile on my face :)The included breakfast is also delicious!! Can’t recommend enough if you want a weekend of relaxation.

2023-02-14 02:45:36An absolutely AMAZING place to both stay and eat. We had planned to only enjoy a romantic dinner at Ravens to celebrate our anniversary (which was delicious) but ended up staying the night and the inn accommodations were exceptional. They were not only able to accommodate us but also our dog - they provided dog bowls, treats, bags and blankets - and a lovely room with such a cozy interior and fireplace! We woke up to birds chirping, waves lapping, and a gorgeous sunrise - not to mention a beautiful property with gardens galore and cute llamas and donkeys. The sustainable mission of the property combined with the above-and-beyond stay that we experienced - 10/10 recommend.

2023-03-02 04:27:36An amazing experience for our first time at the Stanford Inn. We always try to travel to spots that are dog friendly to bring our dog along with us as a family trip and Stanford Inn made him truly feel like part of the family. There were welcome treats for him, food and water dishes cleaned just for him, and a huge part of the grounds were dedicated to allow him to do his business. Plus the whole area was dog welcoming which made the stay so much more comforting. Loved how friendly the staff were and how attentive to our needs and concerns about the weather and dog friendly activities. Before we left we were already planning when to come back!

2023-01-03 19:48:55It’s a heaven for a Vegans. The whole resort is vegan friendly and celebrates the nature. Plants are everywhere and with unique Ivy around the rooms.Food is extraordinary and very very well made. Every dish is unique with great details.Beach is nearby but except kayaking, nothing to do much.Staff is every kind, welcoming and helpful. The only constructive feedback I have is that when they promote that breakfast is included in the room rate, they might want to just not put a bill and ask for tip on the price tag of the dish. That just looks odd and pushy.
