Great game and awesome stadium! GO BEARS!
Its a huge stadium with capacity of more than 50k audiences. The infrastructure is good, except the seats could have been a bit better and comfortable. The giant screens are really great to watch replays and the audio systems are perfect for game commentary and music in between the game.
No frills for Stanford Stadium. Interesting that stadium is hidden by all the trees. Food choices are basic stadium foods, with prices inflated a bit. Cozy stadium, with smaller scoreboards than most P5 schools. Ribbon board had good stats for the teams and players. Game day atmosphere may be the worst of any college football game Ive attended. Parking is expensive but most is fairly close to the stadium
The tailgate is amazing. Having to enjoy a great time with family & friends in the woods. Amazing. No stadium is like this. The sunsets are amazing too.
I attended the California Clasico this year, and it was my first chance to see a big event at Stanford Stadium. Ive been to a lot of events in my life, and as someone who lives in SJ, I was wondering why this event wasnt at Levis Stadium.Although, most of the perspective on the experience is based on comparing amenities at other college campus events. Overall, the experience was great, the food was great, and the people were great. The traffic was a nightmare.Yeah, traffic ruined the whole thing. If youre coming to an event here, you have to think like a college kid. Show up early, tailgate, and dont plan on leaving right after the event. There are only a couple of two lane roads the lead in and out of the venue, its a nightmare.This traffic aspect of the event was a constant reminder of the mismatched approach to holding a professional game at an amateur venue. There was no alcohol served at a soccer match primarily attended by Latino adults. Thats a nonstarter.Next year, I hope they consider moving the event to Levis Stadium.
Beautiful, well-kept stadium at the heart of Stanford University. Would be better with a canopy tho, since the heat can get to be unbearable. Also the concession stands changed to cashless after COVID and never went back, which I personally find annoying.
Great soccer game Quakes vs Galaxy (July 1st, 2023). I appreciate the tribute to Hip-Hop during the halftime show.
Decent food, they serve beer, wine and cider now, and its spacious and empty enough to not feel overwhelming (at least at this game). Ridiculously hot and open though.
I visited this place several times for university football games. The stadium is huge, many entrances, good logistics. There might be problem with parking though, as it is a park and campus around. Usually the place feels very secure, metal detectors and guardians are at each gate. A number of food places inside, mostly snacks and junk food but smells great, I don’t think alcohol is allowed. Plenty of bathrooms are available, wheelchairs are welcome. The workers will gladly guide you to your seat, seats are comfortable. Overall, this place is very nice, great atmosphere, usually the public is very decent of all ages, no reason to not enjoy.
I visited Stanford stadium for the first time to watch Earthquakes vs. Galaxy game. It was an awesome game and a wonderful experience! From the skydivers ascending to the stadium before the game to refreshments during and smooth exit after.
This review is on the walkability and grounds of Stanford University rather than the academics or admissions. Quite simply one of the most beautiful college campuses in the U.S., abs worry the visit even if one is not currently shopping colleges. Stanford is vast and mostly flat. There are many areas shaded by trees that helps with cooling on a hot day. Those from warmer climates will appreciate the gorgeous weather most of the year. There are plenty of areas to sit but restrooms are hard to come by for visitors. The campus is also great for skateboards, bikes, both manual and electric. The chapel is gorgeous and the Rodin Garden is lovely. A wonderful place to get your 10k steps!
Great venue for the California Clásico. Enjoyed LA Galaxy beating San Jose Earthquakes.Minus one star since there was no zoning for Away fans in the online ticketing system. I was in a mixed crowd of home and away support. Would be better to have zoning for Away fans next time.
Stadium and game were nice, but their bag policy to get in the game made things difficult. They told us the stuff in the bag does not matter, but it had to be a certain size and since ours was an inch too big we had to check it in. Getting out of the lot after the game was horrible, no attendant guidance, people were driving all over the place cutting and we sat in line for over an hour before finding another exit that was flowing...it was a poor end

Its your standard university stadium. Nothing too big or fancy, but plenty of comfortable seating and access to concessions/restrooms. You may want to prime before you go, visit some tailgates, etc., because a can of beer will run you $20. Being a Stanford football fan must be so disappointing because theyre arguably one of the worst teams in the conference, along with Berkeley and Arizona state. But no loss can compare to that of dropping a 1/2-pound chicken tender while climbing the stairs to your seat. Having paid $15 for a few tenders and a pile of waffle fries and dropping a tender worth ~$8, Im now obsessed with comparing the costs of things in terms of stadium chicken-dollars.
Enjoyed Stanford Stadium, sitting on the lower deck put us close to the action. Would recommend.
Essy access both inside and outside. Plenty of bathrooms. Not too big, just the right size. The walk to parking lot is easy.
As with other venues the cost of parking and concessions is very high. For a college football game, paid $30 for parking, $20 for a beer.
Watched 2 Big Game here and Stanford won both. What could be better than that ;)Also been here for 2 Commencement ceremonies. As a student sitting down there on a 102 degree day in 2017, I’d hope that they can add more shade. But as a guest, there is good amount of cool spots around.
Decent stadium. however, parking is a bit challenging and the speaker system doesnt sound like it is linked/synchronized well. I did like the grab and go self serve concession stands though and the definitely need to work on their bathrooms and making sure the doors are larger or that signage is better for where the exit is. people trying to get in and out of one door is a nightmare!
Fun times great crowds and the drive up interstate 280 towards San Francisco from Palo Alto is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Rolling fog over the Santa Cruz mountains!! Feels like heaven.
We came here to watch a soccer the match between San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy. Although the score was sadly for LA Galaxy, it was nice come and watch the match event here. The only unexpected thing was they do not sell any alcohol inside the stadium. We hoped to get some drinks inside and enjoy the match drinking but we’ll drink before coming next time😅
Have a fun time here. The atmosphere is great. Parking was $40 and need to be prepaid. We paid cash at Palo Alto High School.
As a first-time experience watching a College Football game, I couldnt have picked a better game or a better venue than having the pleasure of watching The Big Game (Cal vs Stanford) here. The atmosphere can get electric, and the viewing angles are fantastic from just about everywhere in the house. Workers seemed pretty lax about letting people sit wherever they wanted, but that may have just been because of the chaos of The Big Game. There is also great tailgating outside the stadium before big games. Go Cardinal!
Pros: Nice clean stadium.Cons: Tons of attendants directing you to parking, however when you leave they all have mysteriously disappeared. Trying to get out the parking lots is a NIGHTMARE. No one is helping direct traffic, so there are multiple lanes being formed with everyone trying to merge at once. Come on Stanford you can do better!!Also, their bag policies are ridiculous, worst then any other stadium than weve been too (MLB & NFL stadiums included). It has to be 4x6 or they throw a fit, so a small 7x5 purse will get you stopped at the gate. Also, we were actually told that the contents of my purse didnt matter just the size. Wow, just wow, this seems real smart.So to sum it up, not the best first experience visiting this stadium...and the parking is CHAOS!!
Was there for a graduation. It was a hot day with the sun beaming down. Recommend taking an umbrella or big hat if you plan on attending any events in the stadium on warm and hot days. Also parking is chaotic for graduations and sporting events. Be prepared to do alot of walking because of the campus security blocking off certain sections to control the vehicles entering the campus. Besides that Standford is a beautiful campus.
The tailgating is phenomenal inside the groves all around the stadium. The stadium is big, but still small enough to have a smaller school vibe.
9-25-21:Watched the UCLA vs Stanford football 🏈 game. Go Bruins!Place is very nice to see a football game. Small enough that every seat is pretty good.No alcohol is served. But the food is pretty good. Had the California Pizza Kitchen 🍕 pepperoni pizza and the Ghirardelli chocolate ice cream sundae for dessert.Took Caltrain down from San Francisco and for games, they stop at the Stanford station... Which is a half mile walk to Gate 10. Very nice option without having to drive and park!Would definitely come back again to see another game.
The stadium is ok, nothing special, but parking is BEYOND atrocious. Took us an hour, literally, to get into the place. We have tickets for next year and are debating on whether or not to return.
First timers here and we had a blast watching the Clasico LA galaxy vs earthquakes . The view from high up was not bad at all, the event was a great time !!
Great stadium to see a game (especially if you are a Cal fan and they win the Big Game! Go Bears!). Recommend parking at Palo Alto High School which is conveniently located across the street.

I went to the stanford vs sac state game and it was pretty good. pretty boring first half but the second half got much better. stanford lost but it turned out to be a pretty good night. overall it was a pretty good experience and i hope to come back on sept 30th for the oregon game, the only bad things really are that there isnt many people for the smaller games like this one and also the cardinals arent the best team this year.
Very cool old school football stadium hidden in a small forest on campus. Great atmosphere and a must see place for college football fans.
What a beautiful stadium very Intimate, yet you can see the game from all angles... Its not overly crowded good prices and good food however the parking is abnoxious to pay! And I did not know about the clear purse rule which I think is very inconvenient I think if you have a very tiny purse you should be able to take it in. Im not sure how to get the word out because I didnt know at all and I was surprised at that and I had taken an Uber, So I was SOL. I had a friend put my person their car but it was a great time at the game.
The stadium, the atmosphere, the excellent fans, everything perfect and very beautiful, just like the closing with fireworks without words, I will return without hesitation.

Stanford Stadium is a well known PAC-12 stadium. I visited it for a game when Stanford played USC. Granted our seats were pretty high up, but the stadium really was beautiful. It is located in a very green area with plenty of space to tailgate outside the stadium.
The stadium has improved since the early 2000s. You dont need to bring a stadium chair.
If youre headed to a Stanford Football game and forgot your clear bag, dont worry, Walkers Lockers will check in your bag and keep it completely safe while you enjoy the game. I did!! 👍

Great place to watch a football game. Food there not so good. You can get some good food in the shopping center across the street. Stadium is so much better now than it was before renovation.

Newish stadium with an old-time feel. And plenty of choices for seating. Actual seats and bench seats throughout the stadium. Holds over 50,000 fans but not really a bad seat in the house. Food lines can get long, so go early.

Nice stadium, clean, easy to get in, out, and around. The signage for parking could be improved, but the wooded lots are very nice, and great for tailgating. Just and FYI, fox sports had a raised camera dolly on the Stanford sideline, blocking the view on the feild. I bought goal line tickets and the camera operator completely blocked my view.

Drop a tag when you park, its easy to get tirmed around in this huge area. Beers were expensive and they ran out of water part way through the event. But we still had a blast. Beautiful space and we will come back for more!

The stadium is small but nice. i went to see the earthquakes and was able tp see them close although my seats were not the closer ones. Hated that i couldnt get my tickets on the app, terrible wifi and i tried connecting for about 30 minutes. The security told me service is terrible and happens to alot of people. I had to go get in another line at the ticket box so they can print and then walk back to the entrance. I was late 30 minutes to the game
Nice stadium. They have dirt built up around the outside with trees and it looks great. The seating is not designed for people over 5’8” or average width people.

Terrible organization for the California clasico game on 6/29. Electronic tickets didnt go through, people were standing in lines to get to the customer service for the most part of the first half of the game

Great seats in section 135, fifty yard line. Service is all electronic, can be slow at times. Bathrooms are big and clean. Parking lot 2 is the best.
Great venue for college football.
They do not take cash only credit cards for every thing including parking.Dont forget your clear bag, we did but they had some clear bags for us to take which was nice. Signs to get out were not very clear could use more signs for exit.
One of the nicest stadia I have ever watched a game in. Great band, too--oh wait, that was the USC band. ;)In all seriousness, the way this stadium is set into a hill, easy access, good views ... All of this makes it a top notch stadium.

Beautiful facility, great family night... And Im not even a fan of football. Everything was very clean and well organized. Very highly recommended but not at the expense of other Stanford sports, which the university can definitely afford. Shame on Stanford for trying to cut sports during pandemic before adding $10+ billion to endowment.

Im going to give this stadium 5 stars because the atmosphere is always great, the place is super clean and they have a great variety of food. Be warned though that you will not be buying any alcohol within the stadium. Ultimately thats probably a good thing because Ive been a drunk idiot when I was younger so its nice to not have that around my little one

My experience is during a football game-Sold out crowd. Parking was easy but $40. Bring your clear bags/backpack and a blanket. Seats are nice enough and span shoulder to shoulder-not much knee room or room to grab your soda/water from the floor. No cup holders. Food average (dogs, burgers, soda) and not every counter served the same thing. No beer sales. Two big screens at goals to watch replays. Sound system decent. Getting out of the parking lot was a huge pain. It was dark and definitely needed more traffic officers. Took an hour to get to street from within the dirt lot due to grid lock.

Great big stadium. Seats are a little cramped and hard to sit on for a long time. I recommend bringing a cushion and/or a blanket. But its sturdy with ample bathrooms and all the seats seem to offer good views of the field. There are also two big above both goal posts.
Its a beautiful stadium and most seats are good seats but the front first row has vision blocked by rails for steps that lead down to the field all around the stadium. This is a design flaw. Food choices were decent but no beer or alcohol of any kind.

Excellent stadium.This is where my son got graduated.Very well organised event with excellent facilities.Goes to prove Stanford is Stanford after all,which stands tall above others.Pray to Almighty this university prospers more and more and contributes more to make this world a better place
My husband and I went to a San Jose Earthquakes Game.Beautiful stadium. Very clean, well organized for the game. There were people stationed at every entrance to the bleachers, they were very helpful in directing us to our seats.EARTHQUAKES WON!!!!!

As for any stadium, parking before an event can get crazy. Plan in advance for it. I found a spot in the parking areas created on El Camino Real. It was $40 cash only.
Great venue and soooo many empty seats to see Stanford football. Each year attendance gets worse. Pretty soon it will be just me, the dollies and the band .... whats left of them.

Great place for a football game. Lots of entrances (and exits), so there arent as many bottlenecks when trying to enter (or leave). Its not one of the biggest college football stadiums, but its a nice size - and crowds arent that terrible.

The historical luxurious stadium. Its ancient, but clean. They offer the most variety of food that youll never see at other stadiums like pho, boba milk tea, hot chocolate, sushi and rice bowls! Their garlic fry is cooked to perfection. The quality of food here doesnt make it feel overpriced. Go Stanford!

Large, open Stadium and track with plentiful seating for events. Parking options are limited during busy times, so.make sure you arrive early enough to find parking. The stadium and grounds are well maintained,. always clean.

First time back in 20+ years. After getting thru the crush of the cattle herding (limited open gates to herd the crowd thru metal detectors), we got into the stadium. Nice remodel, added seating, video boards, and sound. Great venue!
I am a Notre Dame football fan and this was a great opportunity to see them play. With the low attendance by Stanford we got great seats at field level at a bargain price.Letting the fans onto the field after the game to meet the players was awesome!!
Stadium is pretty good, with decent sightlines throughout. Unfortunately, parking on game day is hard. Most food/beverage is expensive for the quantity (typical for stadium food in the Bay Area), although there are tasty options (mango/pineapple acai bowl!)
Only gets one star because CAL won!! The field was nice to storm after a win. Would highly recommend a win here. It feels great.

We went to a SJ Earthquakes game there, there was a big crowd and the access paths and the inside circulation ways were great as we never stopped walking when we left. It was easy to find the seats as there were signs everywhere

No alcohol, parking always feels a little chaotic, on a sunny day be sure to be on the west side to avoid the heat. Good sightlines and always great when your team is winning!

We have been to the stadium several times for football games, most recently for Big Game. It is a very nice modern stadium, and you can get a pretty good view from just about any seat.The concession selections arent quite as eclectic as when they first opened, but they still have fish, California Pizza Kitchen, and some sushi in addition to standard stadium food. Everything is overpriced, but that is sort of expected at any stadium.There is free WiFi in the stadium but coverage was poor for us in the upper level of seats under the press box. It was usable on or near the concessions ring.Football parking in the nearby groves used to be free for the old stadium. Now they charge $20 to $30.
The stadium itself is decent, but getting in and out of the stadium - even on foot - can be a TOTAL NIGHTMARE. Give yourself an hour to get in if its a big game and you dont want to miss the start! The area around is dusty and rough and will hurt your feet if you wear sandals.Worst part - as a college stadium its a dry stadium - so no beer for the entire game! The surrounding area doesnt have a lot of bars/places to drink at all. Makes events there a bit less fun.
Parking was horrendous - disorganized and on dirt. The stadium itself is comfortable. Concessions are accessible. The video boards are not well placed, and were not functioning properly when we were there. That was surprising given Stanfords technical background.
Loved that everyone there was required to show COVID vaccine or negative test. Made me feel little safer. Game was great bands were amazing
They are very unorganized as it pertains to providing assistance for handicap people. They have a ton of staff and police driving around on carts but no one designated to help handicap people. They need o get it together.
Great place! Tip: Arrive early for the game. Roads in the neighborhood are single lane... lots of traffic... we had to park our vehicle a few blocks away and walk to the place.

Watched Stanford Footballs 2016 home opener and was surprised by the experience. Its nice to enjoy a football game without thousands of drunken fans.Ticket prices are reasonable and every seat has a great view.
Went to Stanford football game. Overall it was fine. Guest services and concession stand personnel were very pleasant and helpful. Gripes were seats were cramped and the pre-game music was obnoxious. Obscure garbage.
Love this place! We used to be seasons holder for the football games when we live in the Bay Area but since we live in the Central Valley now, we only come to a couple of games now. Love the stadium, the games, and the community. Wish we live in the Bay Area still. Miss this place.

Is a nice stadium that feels smaller than its 50,000 capacity would suggest. Train station is close by and downtown Palo alto is walking distance giving you lots of options !

Watched Notre Dame vs Stanford football in partial rain on a cold gloomy afternoon. Its nonetheless pretty impressive to walk through the tunnels to watch the pageantry of major college football between two historic athletic and academic institutions. The colors and the bright lights are seductive. The game action can be very exciting when the two teams are evenly matched. If you have never been to a game here, do it. Its a cozy stadium with few bad seats, friendly people, and usually accommodating weather. Tailgate if you can. If you have the time, a walk through the surrounding campus is interesting. The best part for me today was that Notre Dame won. The last time I was here Notre Dame lost. Obviously I would do it again irrespective of the outcome.
Saw a football game, one complaint was that the food is super pricey. So just bring your own stuff.

Stanford is perfection. Beautiful stadium. Beautiful campus. Ive worked at Stanford for over 10 years - Ill never get tired of this campus. Stunning.
Its a nice stadium, but nothing to really wow you.
The stadium is on campus. It is in walking distance from the Cal Train. There is lots of parking. The problem is that you can get lost trying to find your car after an evening game. The parking area is in the middle of a eucalyptus Grove.
Awesome stadium. But come on Stanford fans and students. Show up and support your team.
Ive been at even more impressive stadiums but this is one is very nice. Well-maintained and a great place to watch football.

Love the stadium but parking can be quite painful. Also, the space before the entrance gates literally is the size of a sidewalk, so the gates can get really crowded
Beautiful stadium, but absolutely terrible parking/too few security checkpoints to enter the stadium for big events. Arrive over 90 minutes in advance to make it to your seats in time.
Signage is terrible. Finding the right gate was almost impossible. The lighting getting to the stadium was so dim I couldnt read the signs.

Loved the stadium people are nice and we could have won. Sings are posted around the stadium should be easy navigation.
Saw Glass Animals here and loved it! Only downside (which has nothing to do with the stadium) is nobody knew the band, which meant no dancing :(
Its cool how the stadium is built slightly underground, such that walking in from the surrounding grounds puts you midway up in the stands. Convenient for entry and less obtrusive.
Your typical college football stadium. Had a good time wish they sold beer Im the stadium like other states, but we enjoyed enough during our tailgate.
Its a beautiful stadium with a lot of seating options. On hot days it is not the most ideal but there are still hang overs to hide under.
When I was going to Stanford Stadium it was with my group called stem steps and we felt so welcome there because they had a sign that said welcome stem steps Team all the fun facts about Stanford

Very beautiful stadium. Went for the USC vs Stanford game. Great atmosphere. East to get there and get out. Not a lot of traffic.
Park for large events out in the field is far from most shops that you have to walk a long ways to find food before the games. Get there early and leave early. Waiting to get out of the lots takes over an hour during MLS California Classico
Parking is very haphazard but so unique that its fun. Stadium is great. No real bad seats.

Horrendous parking lot! You r literally parking in a dirty eucalyptus tree forest. I cant imagine how sketchy this parking lot would be if u were alone. Would NOT recommend due purely to the parking forest nightmare!
5 stars if it was better managed (getting in is always a nightmare), had better food options, and didnt run out of hot chocolate and coffee on cold autumn nights.
It is a pretty cool stadium but some of the seats make it pretty hard to see the field. Just keep that in mind when choosing.

Great stadium for watching college football. For the best experience, sit in the west or north stands to avoid looking into the sun.
I’m amused by following the bathroom signs that take you for a journey around the stadium. It’s like a guided tour, I wasn’t even disappointed by how much of the game I missed
Food was pathetic even for stadium food. I dont mind the exorbitant prices if the quality is at least decent. Otherwise, nice venue!

2023-11-26 05:03:26Notre Dame wins 56-23!!!!!!Traffic in and out is bumper to bumper.Plan on getting there early to park.Parking is $40. Nice place to see a football game. Seats are plastic and a bit uncomfortable after sitting awhile. Good seats throughout the stadium.

Yummy concessions, but extremely over priced (boba was $10, and hazy IPA beer was $20!). They gave us free gloves because it was a bit chilly. Overall, it was a good experience!

2023-11-22 19:30:19Seats were reasonably priced and awesome. Team spirit is definitely evident. Make sure to tailgate and pre-load before going in. Beers are $20 a piece. Bf and I bought a mini-keg and snacks and partied it up in the tail gate area a couple of hours before the game started.

2023-10-11 16:48:45Nice stadium, small enough that all the seats are decent. Buy cheap seats and move to wherever you want, no section other than the student section reached 50% capacity when hosting a top 10 Oregon team.

2023-11-27 16:50:41Went to see the Big Game with my son who is disabled. Closest parking lot is reserved for vehicles with disabled placards. Stadium playing surface is below grade so ground level entry leads directly to disabled seats just above the lower tier of seats and the disabled row is also covered and on the same level as the corridor, concessions, and bathrooms.
