This is one of my favorite sushi places! The sushi always tastes so fresh. The gyozas and egg rolls are also yummy appetizers. The staff is great. It’s usually not busy when I’ve gone so we’ve gotten seated right away & the food doesn’t take long to come out! Would recommend.

We have visited a couple of times and have tried lots of items including: sushi, poke, bento box, and ramen. Our favorites have been the sushi and poke, they tasted really fresh. Everything else has felt like it lacked flavor. We were really disappointed by the ramen which didn’t have much depth to it and could easily be made at home, we don’t recommend. The spicy ramen felt like it had hot sauce added in and the miso tasted very watery. We were surprised by the fried octopus appetizer which was really tasty and a we got a ton for $10. They have some good lunch time deals for dine in but expect to pay upwards of $20 per person. The restaurant is very clean and service was very attentive.

Awesome service clean place. My son never eats at places like this one he’s 13 and we Ordered the spicy ramen soup and he loves it my wife got like 4 different sushi plates and she loved them all my oldest daughter got sushi and loved it my youngest daughter got dumplings and loved them and we got treated evenly like everyone else in the restaurant. Great place.

Absolutely the best good Ive had in a while. I loved the atmosphere, food, and service. The restaurant is easily accessible to anyone. This is DEFINITELY a great place for good food and to fill your tummy. Id give this place 10 stars if I can.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the decorations makes it a very relaxing place.The food is delicious with the exact Japanese taste. The staff is really kind and they make food meticulously.Its definitely a place you should visit.

Starfish sushi is our family’s favorite sushi spot in Downey! Quality of food is great (always taste fresh, comes out quickly and great selection of fish), servers are friendly and attentive and location is convenient. Would recommend to anyone searching for a good sushi spot

Me and my wife are regulars at Starfish. I can honestly say iv never had a bad meal there . My wife loves their sushi, but there are so many other options, too, like soups and teriyaki chicken definitely worth the money.

The sushi is always high quality and has never disappointed, texture is excellent and the portion size is also reasonable for the dish and price. I prefer to come here when eating sushi. However I have had some issues with picking up my order. It is a bit crowded inside so I order to go and pick up myself, no 3rd party involved. It has been a couple times now that my order was much later than expected and I was not called when it was ready, I had to hassle the servers about it- being in service industry myself I really dislike doing this but my plate of raw fish was beginning to warm by the time I found it. It is probably best to dine in here, I noticed a large amount of door dash bags stacking up at my last visit. I think they do not have capacity to handle so many take out orders, sadly. I would order well ahead of time and expect a bit of trouble getting your plate, or just settle for dine in to avoid this issue.

The food (sushi was fresh & beautifully made) & service(Jenny was our attentive & friendly server) was great, though my husband was a little surprised that they automatically added the tip when the bill came. Aside from this, Id still recommend the restaurant because the food was good :)
