We celebrated my sons birthday at Stars restaurant today. The staff was friendly and genuinely wanted us to have a great experience. The restaurant has a relaxing ambiance. I am an extremely picky eater but was impressed by the food quality. I ordered the Stars chicken wrap and it was delicious! My husband ordered the Joes skillet and he was a happy camper. My daughter ordered chicken fettuccine pasta that came with a side salad-portions are huge! My two boys each had an Oreo milkshake with chicken strips and fries/fruits. Our waitress was a sweetheart, she came out with some of the cooks and sang happy birthday to my son. She also surprised him with a Neapolitan ice cream sundae. We are so happy and grateful to Stars restaurant & staff for making my sons birthday dinner extra special. Thank you & see you soon!

Food was really good and the service was fantastic. My only negative would be the prices. My husband and I had lunch, and it was $57.00 without the tip! $18.55 is WAY to much for a reuben (the corned beef was very dry). They have great fries though.

I ordered the country breakfast with biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and eggs. The service was friendly, and the food was good, but the portions were tiny for the price. Not the worst experience, but I could probably go somewhere else and get the same thing for less money, or at least bigger portions.

A nice diner I would compare to IHop with highly overpriced food. I know times have gotten tough but if you are going to charge $18 for a Cobb salad you should at least serve it on romaine or mixed power greens. You can get a Caesar salad for $11, but it will cost you $7 more to get the meat on it. This restaurant appeared clean on the inside and the wait staff were very nice. It appeared to be a local favorite as the staff seemed to know some of the guests. I ate during an after lunch lull so it was nice and quiet and service was prompt. I could only give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars because the prices were not in tune with the style of restaurant, in the location it is in, within the city it is in. I would expect to pay these prices at a Dennys in San Francisco.

WAITED FOREVER FOR SERVICE, THEN ACCUSED ME OF NOT PAYING -- After waiting several minutes to get the waitresss attention to pay my bill, I paid by QR code (and then had to keep waiting for a to-do box, which I had to scoop the food into myself). It was only after I left that the manager ran out with the receipt and demanded I show him proof Id paid for my food (thankfully I had an emailed copy of the receipt!). After I presented this, he insisted I should have shown him the receipt before I left -- despite the receipt being from almost 10 minutes ago! The food was expensive to begin with, but this was too much.

I arrived 10 to 15 minutes after the friends. I was meeting for breakfast and their order still had not been taken. They had coffee, but that was it.I had the Mendocino sampler. The ham tasted a little burnt. The sausage and bacon were good. The eggs were good but there was a funky oily taste to my hash browns.

I want to offer 5 stars but I reserve the 5th for higher end eateries that we simply dont have around here. In truth, stars restaurant is disguised as a diner but its more. While the offer traditional American cuisine, their menu goes deeper exploring mexi-fusion and california cuisine favorites. They offer everything you would expect but with a little more refinement than expected. Pleasant staff and family atmosphere to boot. Dinning area features country music.

Ever get tired of fast food or going to that same old taqueria? I am since I started having a having a craving for chicken fried steak. So after busy early morning, I satisfied that craving here. Both food and service here was quite good. Its popular with senior citizens and their grandchildren but dont let that stop you. Your stomach will thank you for stopping by.BTW the picture I posted here was after I wolfed down half of my eggs. It was then when I remembered to get the shot of the plate. I guess I was hungry.

In the past I have had good experiences at Stars restaurant. But this last visit was not good at all. The service was lacking. No refills of coffee without asking. The wait person did not ask if we needed anything and never came back to check on us. The food was not good. Pancakes where under done and still doughy. Sausage was over cooked and had a hard time cutting it with a fork. The eggs where over cook and crispy not over easy. The manager was to busy flirting with the two ladys seated behind us to help out. No one pick up the money put out to cover the check so I had to stand in line to pay. For the price we paid I would have to say I will not be going back there for breakfast any time soon. Good luck

Stars in Ukiah always a good place to eat good menu with a lot to choose from. I had a patty melt on rye with pepper Jacks cheese it was very good cooked perfect well done. Wife had chicken tenders and we both split potato skins. It was all really good. One of our go-to restaurants when we go through Ukiah. The waitress there at the time was fantastic kept checking on us which you dont get everywhere. I definitely recommend this place.

On top of liking so much of their food, I really appreciate how kind they are in filling my DoorDash orders. I’m a picky eater, & every time I’ve asked nicely for anything, it’s been done. For the record, I just mean little things, not like I asked for a free steak dinner & they were like “sure!” cuz that would be ridiculous. I just mean that they don’t have to be so accommodating with my requests, and it’s really nice that they are.

The food was good, but the service was the slowest Ive had in many, many years. It took more than 15 minutes for my server to even acknowledge my presence, and the restaurant wasnt even that busy. After I ordered, it took another half hour for my food to be brought to the table. If you have plenty of time to spare, this place is fine. But if youre in a hurry, I recommend you go elsewhere.

Could not believe it! Shocked actually ordered a breakfast burrito. Sub standard not even sub standard less then sub standard it was made with mashed potatos. Not breakfast potatoes or hashbrowns but mashed potatos. Maybe one scrambled egg which btw was at the bottom of the flour shell had to dig for it. Yes it was a pick up. Also ordered a pancake that was decent. The side of fruit was honey dew mellon, the apple and orange slice were old even had maybe mold on them. Would not recommend their breakfast pick up. Not even never!

The food is always good here. Well seasoned and served hot. Coffee is good, and they are more then happy to make a fresh pot if needed. Vegetarian options are all very good and theres plenty to choose from. Portions are good sizes, Servers seem happy, and the restaurant is clean. This is a great place for dining alone, with the family, or with a group.

Very pricy, but the food was really good. I ordered 2 items from the kids menu, and if you want something that will feed an older child you definitely want the spaghetti plate. Do not get the Mac and cheese, it was only the size of a side dish. And the tofu dishes were amazing! I will definitely go back just for the veggie menu!

Dont really understand the high reviews for this restaurant. Service is great and staff is always friendly but the food just isnt worth spending money on. Its bland with no flavor literally have to add a whole shaker of salt and it still doesnt taste like much. Low effort and low quality, one of the waitresses actually admitted to my GMA that the avocado egg rolls are FROZEN and then deep fried. Food at a restaurant should be fresh and made to order! Never frozen.

Stars is always a good choice. They are fast friendly and now you can order and pay online. I truly love being able to order online and you can customize everything you need. Plus they are open to pick up or dine in till like 10 or 11. I work odd hours so its nice to have somewhere to eat late besides fast food. Their prices recently increased significantly but totally understandable due to Covid.

My husband has gotten good food here before and really liked their bbq salad in particular but last time we ate there, he got food poisoning from his salad. I dont know what they did (improper storage of ingredients/raw meats next to vegetables etc) but he was SICK.I am talking full on food poisoning: vomiting, diarrhea, vomiting and diarrhea at the same time.And the avocado in my salad was old and brown. Doesnt show great care for their quality.

Our favorite breakfast and lunch place. Dinner is just as good, but we are seldom in town for dinner. My favorites are the corned beef and cabbage on Tuesdays, and the hot corned beef sandwich other days. The rest of their menu is always good. Family oriented, usually pretty quiet too. Recommended.

I love going to Stars restaurant. Their food selection, breakfast lunch or dinner anytime of day, is always fresh and tasty! In my more than 50 visits I have never been anything but impressed by their friendly staff and great food! If you are lucky, you will actually see a movie star there in disguise as an elderly person wearing sunglasses! I see them all the time there, but the disguises are so good, I never know what movie star Ive just seen.

I enjoyed the dark roast coffee.which my.waitress Bea kept a close eye on and never let it get empty. My Denver Omelette with country potatoes and English muffin came out quickly. It was very satisfying. I enjoyed just the right amount of attention during my meal. I will be back the next time I am shopping in Ukiah.

Been here multiple times by the recommendations of a local and just by habit due to being in town. The restaurant is clean, neat...busy at times...once in a while theyll bust out the vacuum and hang out right next to your table...totally look forward to that...The staff is friendly, helpful and will sometimes forget about your table, plus put cheese on your sandwich when you said no cheese, please...I get it, life is busy...having discussion about you and your significant other with your fellow co-worker about your trip you had is important and is probably a great story...especially if i can hear about it over my own conversation at my table...but id really like a re-fill on my coffee...the food it good, lots to choose from...mostly breakfast for me, i like the french toast (who doesnt) ...watch out though, sometimes the staff will over load your drink with fruit and fake fruit (little paper things that look like fruit)...overall a good eatery with its own little quarks. Will i come here again...more than likely.

I eat out a lot due to work and I usually give 4-5 stars but found this place over priced for quality, and took a while to get and it was slow. Omlete was dry and over cooked. Coffee is $3.50 and you charge for a togo cup also? That was disappointing. I also had to ask for refill. Server was nice. Restaurant was clean.

This is a nice diner located in an easily accessible location. Plenty of parking is available too. There is a large menu and the food is tasty. Prices are reasonable and the service is very good.
