Stokes Adobe Restaurant in Monterey

One of my favorite places in Monterey! I enjoyed their delicious food, beautiful interior, and friendly service. I went there to celebrate my anniversary with my 3-year-old son. We were seated in a cozy booth seat. I was happy that my little one was also welcomed in such a quiet and beautiful place. We even received complimentary sparkling wine. I will definitely go there again if we have a special occasion someday in the near future!

Every time we go to Stokes Adobe, we are blown away. They have such great food, service, and location. The caviar halos melt in your mouth, the duck confit and roasted chicken were amazing, and we got the rich, smooth chocolate budino for dessert. I highly recommend this venue if youre looking to have a memorable evening. Also, this restaurant is dog and kid friendly, which is always a plus for my family.

You have to go to this restaurant if you are in Monterey! Chose outdoor seating, view is so nice. Service people are professional and nice. Cocktails and food are delicious and elegant. From appetizers to deserts, all details can reach to fine dining level, I love it.

We had a lovely dinner on a quiet Monday evening. We started with the buratta which came with grilled bread. I had cacio Pepe which wasn’t as peppery as I would like but still good. The service was great.

Fantastic food. Loved the mushroom soup and wagyu. Great service. The interiors were warm and cozy. The patio dining looked fabulous. Would definitely try next time.

Wonderful place for a Christmas Office party. The historic site is beautifully maintained, atmosphere is calm & pleasant, staff are so attentive & personable. Service was immaculate & the food was beautifully plated & served; the flavors were clean, fresh & not overdone. I will have to research more about the history of the locatiin before I go there again ... and I strongly recommend that you go there also. Top notch. Thank you.

Perfect restaurant. Simple and beautiful interior, very thoughtful staff and the food is beautiful.I came here for an early dinner on a Saturday and sat at the bar. I proceeded to have a full meal and dessert, which were all excellent. I appreciated the fact that their cocktails menu even called out a low ABV drink, which I ordered. I started with the yellowtail crudo.The crudo was beautiful looking, and the cuts of fish were the perfect thickness with the right delicate firmness to the bite that made me appreciate that this was very fresh fish.Next, the Australian Waguy steak I ordered had a perfect cook and I couldnt get enough of the Bordelaise sauce that came with it. I did think the potato puree on this plate was just fine, I think I prefer mine more heavily salted, and the small dollop of it on the plate got a bit cold by the time I began eating it.During this course one of the staff poured me a bit of wine, and I have to say that was a great gesture because I wouldnt have ordered it myself but, the pairing made the steak dish so much richer in flavor. Certainly, a better accompaniment than the cocktail I ordered earlier. Great customer service! I was impressed.Finally, I enjoyed the app and dinner courses so much I decided dessert must be great at this place as well, so I ordered the Basque burnt cheesecake. It did not disappoint. The sweetness of the cheesecake was perfectly balanced, with the burnt crust adding a bit of that bitterness to cut through the richness. These types of cheesecakes are typically without a crumble crust, so they provided a sort of deconstructed crust with some cookie crumble and a delicious peach sauce. I ended up taking a piece of the cake and dipping it into the sauce and cookie crumble, and that took the dessert to an 11/10.So TLDR, this place deserves its reputation as a fine dining establishment, and if you want a meal that is guaranteed to impress your eyes and your palette just go here. I could hardly imagine anyone not enjoying this restaurant.

Stokes Adobe in is a must-visit restaurant for those who appreciate delicious food and a great atmosphere. The standout items for me are the crispy potatoes and pear margarita, both of which are outstanding and highly recommended. The historic building adds to the ambiance and makes for a memorable dining experience. Overall, Stokes Adobe is a fantastic restaurant that should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Monterey.

Beautiful restaurant, very attentive service and amazing food - whats not to like. The butternut squash soup was very tasty with unique tartiness that I have not had before. The bread was super soft, perfectly charred and melted in my mouth with butter. The vegetarian entree options were flavorful. Their mocktails were very refreshing.Our server Jane was great. She did everything perfectly and made our dinner memorable. Lastly, the place itself is beautiful with its decor and still capturing the old house charm. If there is one thing I would change is the lighting. It is so dim that the menu couldnt be read. They could make the font on the menu bigger at least.

Just walking into this place is a treat. It’s an old historic adobe. The seating a ambiance is very tasteful. The menus is very diverse depending on your taste buds. Service is excellent and friendly. I highly recommend this place for groups.I also just went there for a wine paring valentines dinner and I have to say that every dish was exquisite! Excellent service ❤️
