Stubborn Poke N Chips in El Cajon

Super super delicious poke bowl! I’m impressed. Myself is not a poke bowl lover because I think poke bowl always taste the same. But this place’s poke bowl is different. They definitely combined some other fusion into their poke. For example, I love my poke bowl here with spicy mango dressing! It worked so well. Their portion is really huge. And they will try to put as much as they can, you will feel so satisfied and full after! As I am painting a mural for Parkway Plaza recently, this spot is definitely one of my favorite spots for lunch.

This location is in a mall so there is a big parking area with a big sitting area!This place is amazing!!! My husband and I both ordered a small bowl and it was more then enough for us! The staff gave us a good amount of protein even just a small bowl! ( the difference size of the bowl is the scoop of protein)One thing I loved the most about this place is that you can get as many topping and side as you wanted!!! Usually poke place tells you that you can only get 2 or 3 toppings and you will have to pay extra for more but this place is so generous!There was a great selection on their menu, they even have their own special flavor of soda!!There is only one suggestion for this place is to improve their sanitation, I will give them five stars if they have their employees wear a mask, I just think it is better especially when you are preparing food.

Was looking for fish in El Cajon with my wife and came across this place. Good reviews, great looking dishes, so we stopped by. This is poke made by real chefs, the poke bowl selections came together perfectly, everything was the right amount of moist and not dry at all. Fish was fresh (they do run out, so come early for selection) and have a great selection from ahi, wild salmon, spicy tuna, albacore, shrimp, bad octopus. They also have meats to chose from, bulgogi, steak, pulled pork and more. My wife enjoyed her poke bowl, and she is very critical of them when they are not perfect. I went all out and tried a tater tots with fried fish aka fish and chips. I added avocado and 3 dressings including the chefs special spicy sauce, adding sweet and sour to the mixture.Definitely coming back again!

The best poke in a mall food court! Actually the best non-Hawaiian pokey style based on their sauces and many options. It’s like you get double chances in step 4 and 6 to get it moist and flavorful. The protein is marinated not like other places where it’s just a squirt on top. You can’t go wrong with any of the endless sauces and adding crunchies at the end. The portions are also huge!1.Pick how many scoops2.Your base (salad, rice, half and half)3.Protein4.Marinades5.Toppings6.Dress it upI got one scoop and my fiancé got two scoops but with all the toppings, my bowl was actually a lot more. I also got 3 sauces and they all mixed well.They also have wings, poutine and fries. We got the wings with waffle fries. We got half honey garlic soy and half stubborn buffalo. The wings were small, great sauces, it’s just that it didn’t taste fresh and tasted previously frozen.5/5 for the pokey. They have a massive menu. Did you know that they also have udon? Curry chowder? Bulgogi cheeseburger? And so much more!

The protein only Poke is our regular order and we have never been disappointed. The only thing we could recommend is for them to write which order it is on the container. Service is fast and easy.

Huge portions! Poke places have become so expensive and stingy with their portions. This spot doesnt hold back.The staff is friendly and helpful.The food itself tasted fresh and delicious.This checked off all the boxes for me. Ill definitely be returning.

The food was good however the service here from the ladies at the counter is absolutely horrendous. At Parkway mall my husband went up to the counter with my stepson to order him some food. The young girl working there with the 12 ft long eyelashes rolled her eyes, had an ugly, condescending tone when speaking with my husband and stepson, never smiled at all, and also gave me attitude when I went back up to ask for ketchup for his chicken tenders. Randomly while we were eating, a lady walked up to us and asked us where we got the chicken tenders. We told her at Stubborn Poke & Chips but we warned her about the young girl at the counter (who clearly did not want to be there). The lady said, Oh yeah she is not good. The guy that works there is much nicer! So, this makes me see that we are not the only ones who encountered this girls awful service. I hope something is done about it soon.

Honestly thr serving size to price ratio is really good, the fish and veggies are.always fresh and the service from the staff is always great. Ive paid more for less at fancy poke places. Kind of a diamond in the rough.

Ordered the Poke Bundt with albacore, salmon and octopus and it was tasty!There was a little too much rice for me personally and not enough crab meat but overall I’d order again and it’s so pretty!The shrimp chips were crispy and they even gave me the fish eggs (masago) on the side cause I forgot to select it, thank you!Takeout only inside the mall food court and the Bundt took a bit longer to prep and make but it was worth the wait in my opinion, prices are fair too!

I ordered a large poke bowl to go and when I received my order, the bowl was actually quite small, and they had not added any protein. none!! I ordered tuna, shrimp, and salmon and they completely ripped me off
