2023-11-14 23:48:51The mac and cheese is really good highly recommend! Its gooey, super cheesy and the noodles were done perfect.Their burgers are bomb! The tasted amazing they use great beef 🐂! The protein style needs a little help with the lettuce but it was still great.

2023-10-23 22:54:16We were long-time patrons of the original Sublime Ale House in San Marcos and for years we brought friends and family there to enjoy the variety of excellent beers and the food by chef-owner James Limjoco never disappointed anyone. We moved away from the Carlsbad area to Oceanside and had a hard time making it back to Sublime over the years only to learn they closed in 2021, so we were super excited to hear they were re-opening right here in Oceanside near the beach. We made it out there on opening weekend. Upon entering we grabbed a seat at a high-top. The seats are comfortable despite not having cushions (always a pet peeve of mine). There is no server, so you need to scan the QR code on the table which will launch the ToastTab app on your phone. Enter your credit card and start your tab!We immediately ordered the Fiery mac-and-cheese ($15) and it was as good if not better than we remember it from before. SO FREAKING GOOD!! The jalapenos were fresh and very spicy. We also tried the new Korean Fried Chicken ($16), which wasnt fried chicken in the normal sense. They were smallish, boneless sticky wings tossed in a gochujang sauce. Very good but I was expecting something completely different from the description (I had KFC on the brain). My daughter ordered the Southwestern burger ($18) which was large (she only ate half) but I thought it needed a bit more seasoning (we always go out with salt packets in our pockets for this very reason lol). Both the wings and the burger came with shoestring fries, which were quite tasty! I actually ate ALL my fries which I honestly never do anywhere so thats a big complement to the chef. The interior of the new Sublime is bright and fresh, and only a fraction of the size of the original location. Its small, but the location is smack dab right in the middle of downtown Oceanside, and only feet from the beach. This is a significant upgrade from the hot and dusty San Marcos location, so we are very happy to see them move to such a high visible place (right across from Harney Sushi). Im sure they will do very well here.We ordered the Pepperoni Lovers pizza ($19) to-go, but tried a piece before we left. Its a 12 pie that has the larger bubbly crust similar to a standard Neapolitan-style pizza (see Blade 1936 right around the corner), only I wish the edges were burnt a little bit more. Not burnt but I like a little more color on the edges which really makes it stand out against other pizzas. Otherwise, the flavor was outstanding. They put three different kinds of pepperoni on it and it was delicious. Cant wait to try the others. For beer, my wife and I had a pint, and I added a four-taster flight to our tab as well with each 5oz taster clocking in at around $3-4 each. They will eventually have up to 28 taps I believe, but on this opening weekend we only saw 14 on the Draft List they had printed out on paper. Hopefully they add some refrigerated canned options to boost the beer count as that was what I missed about the old location: the vast beer selection.Overall our tab came to $150. Not a bad price for food of this quality as close to the shore and the center of downtown Oceanside as it is. We had a lot to eat and even came home with leftovers.FYI - there is plenty of free parking around the area if you can find it. I made the mistake of entering the Customer Parking garage attached to the same building as Sublime, only to learn they do not validate tickets and parking was a whopping $10! I could have just parked on the street for free or the free parking garage right across the street from this one.Another note: we almost walked out without paying by accident - which is easy to do after having a few beers. You order from the QR code on each table and eventually need to pay out when youre finished, but there is no server in the traditional sense so be very careful and dont forget to close out your tab via the app (the app already has your credit card so I imagine they would close it for you at some point).Cheers!

2023-10-23 02:15:43Oceanside has a new TapHouse and SUBLIME TAPHOUSE is now in Downtown O.This well-known TapHouse was once in Carlsbad & San Marcos; now they’ve found a home in Downtown Oceanside, right on Mission Ave and Cleveland St. underneath the Pier View South Apt.SUBLIME TAPHOUSE is known for their comfort food and their menu consists of soups, salads, a variety of fries: (truffle, short rib, beer cheese & pulled pork bbq).Their small plates include: lumpia, wings, sisig, mac & cheese croquettes, Korean bulgogi tacos, sandwiches, grilled cheese and pizza. They also carry a variety of burgers that can be made using veggie, turkey or protein style.I recommend their famous ‘Slap Yo Mama’ Burger.SUBLIME is most famous for their Mac & Cheese. They’re made with their creamy bechamel sauce, including sharp cheddar and monterey jack and a parmesan breadcrumb crust.I recommend their SUBLIME with truffle oil and SULTRY with short rib and balsamic glaze. The interior has spacious and has plenty of group seating and tall tables. There are 3 TVs to “catch the game” on.Their drinks include 27 beers on tap and they also carry hard kombucha, handmade seltzers, mimosas and michaladas.Their bathrooms are clean thanks to security codes and overall, it’s a great dining experience. The ONLY downside to this establishment is that it can get pretty noisy with the street traffic, customers talking and the sports game on tv.But it’s not a dealbreaker with the SUPERB customer service that makes you feel at home!*side note: there’s plenty to watch on the streets from their patio seatingOverall, I really like SUBLIME TAPHOUSE and I appreciate that they take the extra care to make most of their ingredients in-house and this adds to the quality of their food and justifies their price-points (still nothing over $21 as of opening day).

2023-06-11 20:29:33Got this Togo order and the staff was so friendly and the food was served very quickly! Super tasty and the chicken was so crunchy! I got the mild spice on my chicken which was a little too spicy for me, but it was so good I still kept eating it! My sister loved her chicken.

2023-04-11 03:00:40Came here with family and got a bunch of items (poached chicken and fried chicken with Mak Mak sauce and peanut sauce, lumpia, pan-fried dumplings, lychee-guava lemonade). The poached chicken was better than the fried chicken. But each plate was $16 -- not sure if the price is justified for the type of food. The portions were good. Not sure how theyre fusion, their food seemed authentic enough. They are new and it seems like theyre still trying to figure themselves out - order at the counter, or via QR code, or table service.

2023-09-13 04:29:30I loveeee this place! This spot is a must if you’re visiting the area. There’s something on the menu to please everyone from carnivore to vegan. The fried tofu and coconut rice is amazing! It is the best tofu I have ever had and the coconut rice is a nice little touch. I also love the garlic noodles! I often think about both dishes and have to fight my cravings to go get them. All of the sauces are great too, especially the peanut. The atmosphere is beautiful inside the restaurant and the owner and his family are so kind! Great vibes all around.

2023-10-27 07:27:02My wife and I had a great experience when we stopped in this week! The beer selection is extensive, the jalapeño poppers and the sublime Mac n cheese were amazing. We can’t wait to come back! The service was also excellent.

2023-07-24 15:30:26Awesome restaurant. Beers were excellent and food was even better, especially the chili oil dumplings. Seriously, those dumplings may be the most flavorful food I have consumed in years and such a unique flavor. My only negative was the ordering mechanism was a little clunky BUT I think it has significant potential. Regardless, they let you order at the counter anyway if you cant swing it.

2023-06-09 03:10:58Food was somewhat bland. Ask for extra chili oil and salt and pepper. Staff should explain preparation better. It was concerning when the food was cold.
