Our favorite spot. We even celebrated Valentines Day there. The food is amazing, and I usually order the butter chicken masala. Their combo meal for 2 offers excellent value. Moreover, they serve fantastic cocktails at affordable prices. We want to bring all of our friends here!

Been living in the Bay Area for 20+ years and I can hands down say Sugandh is up there as the top Indian restaurant in the bay!! for everyone in north bay you don’t have to travel to South Bay for good quality Indian food, go to Sugandh! Amazingly fresh, extremely delicious, excellent quality and the staff are amazing people!!

Best Indian food Ive had in my entire life (visiting as an Indian living in New Zealand), the spiciness was spot on for both Medium and Spicy levels.Plenty of options to cater for meat eaters and vegetarians. Orded the vegetarian biryani and it was exceptional, the heat was perfect with Medium and didnt overpower the dish.We also ordered the Chicken and Lamb Bohti Tandoori appetizer and Lamb Seekh Kebabs. I didnt expect them to come out on a cast iron sizzler and with huge chunks of chicken, lamb and Seekh kebab .Thank you for the extremely delicious meal. Sugandh deserves more than 5 stars.Next time I come to the U.S. this is definitely on the list for places to go.

Mid. If you are of Indian dissent and eat Indian food regularly this is eh. It’s average. We order indian food A LOT and love our local restaurants. We figured the best option for being out of town is to get food we all enjoy. We ordered garlic naan, it was hard, chewy and an off putting smell. Daal Makni and butter chicken had light flavor. We did order medium spice but there was simply no spice. I could have ate Serrano pepper with my food to feel something. Fish pakora…. Don’t do it. Also portion sizes for the price 😂 not worth it

Excellent food but CONSUMER FRAUD! They added an extra funds to our credit card charge as we were visiting from out of state and thought we would not notice. And we did leave a generous tip, too.Customers Beware! Credit card fraud from this restaurant.Save your receipt from this place and check them against your monthly statement!Yes, of course, we kept our receipt from our one and only purchase at this establishment. Do this practice any time you travel. Sure enough, there was an additional $6 on our credit card statement than what appears as the total on our signed customer receipt. We contacted our creditor and reported the fraud from this restaurant.

Loved the food. Three people, myself vegan. Many vegan options. The coconut vegetable curry was excellent. Veggie samosa was very good. Shocked how satisfying the vegan, gluten free garlic naan was; I usually do not appreciate gf breads. The eggplant pakora was great.Service was very good.I’ll bring more people for sure.

I tried this for the first time. Is okay, decent place for Indian food. Not usually busy - the time I went was empty. And not that pricey. Food was not too good not too bad, it didn’t meet my expectations thou. I ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken (my ultimate favorite dish) and garlic and butter naans. I was hoping the butter chicken to have that rich buttery and slightly sweeter taste, but all I could taste was sour tomatoey taste. Biryani had less masala in it. And naans were hard.I may not go there again but if you’re looking for other dishes, they have a lot of options.Can work more on their recipes

TLDR: no rice included with entrees, slightly above average tikka masala, good sized mango lassi (my favorite).My favorite item was the mango lassi, and it was the perfect portion size. The fact that the drink was securely sealed made it incredibly convenient for delivery orders like mine.However, the paneer tikka masala was just decent. While it did satisfy my craving, it didnt have the flavor I expected. Its worth noting that the entrees dont come with rice. Typically, Im used to rice being included with such dishes, so not getting rice with my delivery order was disappointing.After calling the restaurant, I learned that entrees indeed dont come with rice, which is fine (I have no problem paying for rice separately), but this information should be clearly stated online. Unfortunately, I had to place a second delivery order just for rice. This was quite inconvenient and required me to pay an additional delivery fee and wait for an additional 35 min. By the time the second order arrived, my curry had cooled down, and the naan had become hard and chewy. This was a less-than-ideal experience.I feel like the overall experience for in person dining would be a bit different! This was my experience as a traveler staying in a local hotel (delivery order).Feedback for restaurant: Please add a disclaimer to the online order/delivery systems (toast tab, Uber eats, etc.) that rice is not included with any entree.

It was great to have a quick bite at Sugandh while catching up with a friend who lives in San Francisco during a 4 hour transit at the airport. We ordered samosa and baingan pakoda. Samosas were fine but the pakodas were a little too oily. The service was good.

Delicious food and excellent service.Came here for a very late lunch around 3:30pm on a Sunday. They were open!Food arrived promptly and every dish was very flavorful. It was nice that they were able to make it so flavorful but not heavy at all.Waiter checked on us several times to refill water and ask if everything was ok.

Sugandh has never failed us so far. Every trip out of SFO means lunch or dinner at Sugandh. Staff is quick and amazing and food is excellent. With some renovations and interior redone place could definitely be a top dining experience. Thanks for always hitting the Indian food craving spot.

A fair restaurant serving standard Indian staples. Though my experience was not necessarily unsatisfactory, likewise, there was a lack of anything particularly exciting — in other words, nothing special. Quick stop on the way back from SFO turned out to be a pleasant surprise, the masala was well crafted and the bread was chewy (good) and not greasy (also good!). I tried the chefs special eggs in gravy, which was well spiced and the eggs were fresh. We would definitely go back.

Tasty Indian food. Great service. I visited my friend in San Francisco during thanksgiving. We were looking to go to an Indian restaurant for lunch but it was quite late around 2 pm. Google search brought up this restaurant which was at walking distance. We decided to take a chance and check it out. We were quite satisfied with the food and the service. They were also patient and waited for us to finish up though it was past their closing time for the morning hours.

Most of the items that we ordered was yummy. More authentic and sometimes different but very good. The naans are very very good. Samosa is not great. North Indian is very good. Biriyani was okay.I have had better kabuli naans (that doesnt mean this naan is bad.. its just that its not great but good though) but keema naan was very very exceptional.

But these guys managed to do so for me.On top of it they delivered me no silverware, no napkins and no straw for a mango lassi that’s sealed and meant to be performed by a straw. We really enjoyed this fine Indian kitchen on the last day of our California trip. I did not expect this quality near the airport. The food was just fantastic! I would definitely come back when in the area. We ordered 2 types of lamb and both were delicious. I have been many times to India but this is definitely one of my better Indian food experiences.Also great service, the waiter recommended to changes one of out dishes since the sauces would be very similar. We did not regret following his advice.

I love Indian food and this restaurant can let you hate Indian food. I ordered through Uber eats and spend $74 for 3 people. Restaurant looks careless about your food. No onions, pickles or lemons after requesting. Shrimps in the curry were not even cooked properly. They even don’t care to pack the naan bread in foil. Spend your hard earned money somewhere authentic business who care for you.

My mom and I are in Cali visiting my sister. Were all vegetarian and knew Indian food would be a great new experience for my mother who likes spicy foods. We ordered samosas, veggie biryani, saag paneer, chana masala, basmati rice and garlic naan....it was smelling so good none of us took pics of our plates when we made it back to our hotel! But there is a pic of our empty plates, lol!My mom was thoroughly pleased with the heat of the food! She told the man who took our order that she wanted to feel the heat in her ears and her chest and that is just what happened, lol. He was also very helpful about making sure we were safe as we were out and about late in the evening. We would definitely love a chance to dine-in when the world opens back up.😀

Great place to grab Indian food near the SFO airport. (It is like a 7 min drive away from the airport). While we were waiting for our order, the owner brought some crispy rice flour with some spicy sauces for free. Its nice of him. Our food came in short waiting time. They were so dilich. Me and my family went there on new years day. The staff was very friendly and polite. They took our order and the food also came on time. We were 4 people and we order little more than usual because we wanted to try most of their dishes. There was not enough space on the table and the server was very kind enough to bring us extra table to put our dishes. That was a pleasant surprise. When we took the first bite of the food than we knew that we will definitely be coming back to this place. The food was very good and tasty with perfect flavor. Each dishes were perfectly cooked. What I loved the most was the onions that came on all the tandoori dishes. Every other place, they just put plain onion but here they sauteed the onions with some sauce which was perfect.All the people who are complaining about the food and price for this place, I recommend them to go to fast food restaurant. This is a great place, the staffs are very friendly and polite, the taste of the food is very good and the price is not expensive.This time we didnt take any pictures, we were busy eating the delicious food but next time will take pictures. This place has become our favourite Indian-Nepali place.

This rating is purely a portion related rating.I will admit the food is good… but have to say I am absolutely shocked at how small the portions were. I just spent 58 Canadian (44 USD) on my Uber order.. I got what looked like a small soup cup of paneer, and a small app of fish. If you saw the portion, you wouldn’t think I spent more than $15. I understand inflation, but this was pure robbery these prices.

Very quiet for dine-in at lunch. Parking was not a problem, and we did not need a reservation for a party of five. The food was wonderful, and you could customize your spice level. Its easy to family style, or have your own dish. The chai is made traditionally with whole spices.

Sugandh is definitely one of our favorite restaurants! Wonderful Indian flavors, expansive menu, great drinks, and super service. A bit of a funky space, with a big bar in front and the dining room in the rear - but the dining room is nice. Once you are seated and receive your traditional cracker bread with 3 sauces, who cares about the funky layout. We have NEVER had a bad, or even a meh meal there!

My wife and I ordered takeout from here last night. I am originally from a part of England with a very dense Indian population, so I have grown up eating some awesome Indian food. have found it very difficult to find great Indian food in California. I have to say that this is probably one of the best I have had the pleasure of tasting! The Keema Naan was great, and both the Lamb tikka masala (medium heat) and the chicken vindaloo (hot) are so flavorful and the meat is perfect! Food is decent at best. Dont get taken in by the reviews. The chicken was tough, either over cooked or old, and the saag paneer tasted earthy, with very little masala flavor. The paneer was tasteless as well, like it hasnt been marinated or even salted prior to cooking.Drinks were pasable, though whoever tends the bar needs additional training because we asked for a rum and coke and received a long Island. The bar tender had long hair, kept loose and in his face.The carpet in the seating area is dank and smells like dirty feet. Says that it is a restaurant and bar but Ive never seen the bar when I walked in. Entry to the dining hall is through a long hallway and make your way to the left. As soon as you enter you already smell the funk of old carpet and the lingering pungent aroma, drab decor, dim lighting from 1960 lamps and sconces, exposed wood on the bench seating, overall it has seen better days and it is getting very very tired. If you can overlook these things, the food makes up for it as far as taste and selection. However, $12.95 for a chicken tikka masala is a bit high for the serving portion I got. I had five pieces of cube chicken inside my dish. To top it all off, basmati rice was not included and you have to pay extra for it. Food was okay and nothing to write about. Food was not terrible and nothing to write about as well. It was just...okay. There are better restaurants out there with better decor and I can see that they have loyal customers who come here. It was an experience but it is not something I would go back to. There was one wait staff whose attire and appearance looked like he works there but the rest of them were wearing casual street clothes and one even had bed head. I am definitely will not be a repeat customer.

It has two sections, a relatively noisier bar area near the front with TVs and a quieter dining area in the back. The food was delicious and had the perfect blend of flavor and nutrition. When I ordered, they asked how spicy Id like it, so I think they can adjust the spiciness level as requested. They also provided some fresh tasty chutneys on the side - tamarind, cilantro/mint and a spicy chili one. There are many vegetarian options on the menu. As is the case at similar restaurants, the entrees are without rice or naan, so those must be ordered additionally as sides; thus it can become a little pricier. With one entree and side, the portions felt just about right for one person that eats a lot. I felt satisfied and had just enough for a tiny little to-go box to snack on later. If I didnt mind eating a little less, I could see myself splitting one entree and two sides of rice or naan with another person, and maybe starting with a shared appetizer or ending with a shared desert to have enough food and complete the meal. I also ordered tea at the end and was pleasantly surprised to find it had a nice kick (a milky sweet and spicy chai). All-in-all Id recommend this one, and will likely return.

Oh. My. God. Stop the presses. Holy hello. This place is un-bloody-believable.. I pass this place hundreds of times, its literally blocks from my house and Id tried it years ago for a group lunch with my dance class (under different ownership), a Himalayan buffet, and was underwhelmed. It used to be lackluster. I grew up eating Indian food, my Mom drying chilies in the sun, making everything from scratch, meticulous and my Dad a chef in Indian restaurants, sister-in-law Hemalina, cooks Indian food extraordinaire, my husband raised in India--we are picky. And we know our Indian food. Id honestly written this place off, but a colleague mentioned that he drives from S.F. to eat at Sugandh--its a destination restaurant in Millbrae. Seriously. We figured we should give it second chance, and went in for a late lunch/early dinner. No reservation, and when we walked in, it looked like the place was deserted, the front empty, but as we walked to the back and were seated, a beautiful interior, warm wood bricks, colorfully painted with artwork and gorgeous copper lighting sconces on the walls. We sat in one of their booths and ordered 6 dishes: 1.Tandoori lamb chops (3 double chops and a triple rack of lamb huge portion. 2. Garlic naan--fresh out of the tandoor oven, sprinkled with fresh garlic chopped and drizzled with butter and cilantro. 3. Chicken tikka masala--Chicken breast white meat in a tomato cream sauce with flecks of fenugreek. 4. Bhindi--okra perfection nirvana, chopped onions nicely browned with a symphony of spices all in balance and smoky tomato, charred. 5. Bengan Bhartha--smoky eggplant redolent of masala spicing mild. 6. Salmon pakora--this was a first, out of hundreds and I do mean hundreds of Indian restaurants later--we had salmon in chickpea flour--moist, fresh, tender perfection. Most pakoras use some form of white fish, which is okay but not as hard to do. Our second visit, I asked our server to put double the amount of methi ( funugreek, a spice with bitter undertones) in our chicken tikka masala and also raise the spiciness level up a notch--wasnt sure what to expect. Damn, did they ever deliver: perfection, smoky, layered flavors. This was a 5 star experience, and if Yelp had 10 stars, Id in a heartbeat, crown it with 10 of those damn stars. FANTASTIC--the quality, the preparation, the freshness, the quantity, the service, I can wax rhapsodic on and on. They have three levels of heat: mild, medium, and spicy--the beauty of this place is even though we ordered everything mild, they preserved all the complexity of spicing of the Indian dishes and managed to have flavors exploding in our while removing offending chilis and heat (my colon thanks you :-) This is exquisitely hard to do for Indian food: preserve flavor and complexity while removing heat. The service prompt and efficient, attentive, my husbands water class continually refilled without us asking for it. They were sincere and sweet, kind and generous. The price point btw., could not be more reasonable: huge portions for this quality..if they were in S.F. and had fancy marketing juggernaut, theyd be charging twice as much. Garlic naan ugh the garlic naan was not fluffy and delicious at all. Literally looked like a flat CD that I could put in my CD player and it would start playing Bollywood music lol 3/10.
