Overall, the fish is fresh, but the food can be better. I got the Trust Me set for lunch. The tuna sashimi and crab hand roll was good, and the Hirame sushi was especially good (flavorful, a little fatty, melts in your mouth). However, the rest of the sushi (salmon, yellowtail, albacore) were very disappointing. Each piece of sushi had too much rice, had too much vinegar in the rice and the rice was too warm, which really masked the flavor of the fish. The cuts of the fish also tasted cheap, the fish were lean and not particularly flavorful. The hand rolls also had too much rice. The atmosphere and interior design of the restaurant was nice, but the food could have been a lot better with more care.

I was extremely disappointed when the server told me there’s no salmon sashimi when that’s the only thing I was craving for. I simply do not understand why they cannot serve sashimi but the salmon sushi is still available. We switched it to toro sashimi but we got served with a minced almost a toro paste. I won’t doubt it if you tell me that’s ground pork. Please google the definition of sashimi. No matter how “fusion” you trying to be. Do not mix “tartare” with “sashimi”.No offense but this place is for those who don’t have sushi a lot. It’s not authentic at all. Not the kind of sushi I was hoping for but I wouldn’t say it’s bad. Afterall the price is relatively low. I’d be okay to have sushi with this quality as a bento box or takeout order at midnight when there’s no other choices. It feels like the kitchen just bought supermarket sushi and served it on plates. The hand rolls are slightly better. You might as well just go to KazuNori. At least Servers are friendly and professional. But I still won’t come back again. If you must try this place. Order the “don’t ask just eat” set. Those are serving slightly more premium fishes. Or lower your expectations.

Way overpriced and overrated! If you have a huge appetite then DONT COME HERE! you will need to spend a few hundred to get full lol the food is fresh but the amount of food they serve is basically crumbs. You will leave starving like you came in if your budget is $50. They are one of those restaurants that serve 2 sushi pieces on a full size plate trying to make it look like you are getting a lot. They use too much sauce and the rice kept coming apart when I picked up my sushi when chopsticks. Another negative is that they have a mandatory 16% gratuity even if your service was horrible! On top of the mandatory gratuity that gratuity is also taxed. So not only are you forced to give a 16% tip but you are also forced to pay taxes on their tip for them! I will not be returning!

Probably the best Sushi I have had in a long time! It was fresh, beautiful presentation and best of all the flavors on point!!!Staff also very friendly and efficient. I was so taken aback by the quality and taste I didn’t take any pictures I just enjoyed every moment of the experience!

Over priced, and over rated for sure. I’m not ordering for pick up from here anymore. I’ve had takeout from here on several occasions. I have never dined in today. My friend and I dined in. The hostess was very unpleasant. The entire vibe in there felt very unwelcoming an exclusive. We had to leave our server down to ask for a menu. He took our order, and we never saw him again. It doesn’t feel minority friendly. I know From experience, the quality of food when it was for takeout was really good. But when we were dining in it seems like they just threw our food together carelessly, I was really disappointed. It honestly felt like we’re discriminated against from the looks that we were getting.

We love Sugarfish! The sushi and the sushi rice are so good. We ordered the Trust Me and NOZAWA Trust Me and both were so good. We had to wait a bit to get seated, but everything came out super fast once we sat down and ordered. In addition to that, the services were great too.

Quality fish ruined by poor execution. Warm rice, like very warm and a bit too sour. Consider letting the rice sit around for a few minutes. Sauces that overpower and ruin ingredients, the sweet shrimp citrus makes it bitter and almost inedible. The only things worth getting are the otoro, chutoro, yellowtail, and the lobster - all sauceless. Skip the sweet shrimp, hokaido scallop, and albacore belly - all were sauced

I really enjoyed my meal at sugarfish. I got the Trust Me set menu. The tuna sashimi was delicious and the sauce was excellent. All of the nigiri were delicious too. I’m a big fan of how they prepare their rice. Their hand rolls were fine too but for me they weren’t the highlight of the meal.At first I was hesitant about the pseudo-omakase format but it worked out pretty well, since the servers paced the dishes. Would recommend if you want something similar to omakase without breaking the bank.

This is my favorite Sugarfish location so far (and Ive been to several). All the fish was super fresh and I enjoyed my experience very much. The one downside to this experience was that I was told as a part of 1 that my wait would be close to one hour. That was very hard for me to believe given that it was close to 8pm on a Wednesday night with a whole bar section. The guy said that even if a single seat opened up, he wouldnt be able to give it to me because there were 13 parties (all groups) ahead of me. I decided to take my chances and put my name down since I was starving and coming from out of town. Sure enough, in 10 minutes, the manager seated me at the bar.
