Great breakfast options, I had the Eggs Benedict, cant wait to try shrimp and grits.Service is great, everyone very helpful and respectful,Plenty of locals eat there, its kind of hidden so you will miss it if you dont use your maps app.Restaurant was close to one of my jobsites and a friend recommended it.I will recommend it to my friends too.!!Its my go to when Im in the area.

Im always going to be delighted when I go to Sukies. Its a magical place to me because it feels like a real diner with a real authentic vibe instead of just diner decor. The big thing that makes Sukies stand out is the food. Not every dish is glamorous, not at all, but you can get comfortable learning what you like.For me, the Sukies Corned Beef Hash is the big winner. You can ask for it crispier which in my opinion is a big improvement. Fatty, thick chunks of corned beef decorate a plate of home fries with bell pepper and onion. Really divine!I liked the Portuguese skillet as well with the linguiça. The coffee is always coming and it is pretty good (darker roast than I usually use but I put plenty of cream in mine). You can always ask for sides and additions and the staff has always been friendly and attentive.I love the place! Its a bit far from us or we would go there all the time. The price might be a little high for the area but at the same time this is a you get what you pay for situation and I do think there is a sort of luxury in sitting in a diner eating food of this quality while coffee is endlessly refilled for you.Strongly recommend Sukies as its a bastion in a metropolitan area where diner style restaurants usually disappoint.

They catered a prayer breakfast at our church on 8/26/23. They arrived early to set up. Plenty of grits, bacon, pancakes, eggs, fruit, and beverages. We had plenty to take home afterward. Fairly priced. Friendly staff. Caterer willing to travel. I am looking forward to using them again for future events.

Been going here for 10yrs, worst experience ever. Cold grits, toast not hot enough to melt butter! For some reason, all the wait staff seem to be mad!! Think Ill give them a break for awhile. I was really disappointed.

Good:Good mom and pop restaurant in ages serving breakfast and lunch. My personal favorite is the Chicken Fajita Omelette.Bad (Update 5/23/2021):When it comes to ordering by phone for a (1) Ranch Skillet with hashbrowns together instead of country potatoes and two (2) Chicken Fajita Omelettes, I get one Chicken Fajita Omelette and a full order of a Ranch Skillet in separate trays. This caused further delays from everyone else who made phone orders after me.Please find someone who is great at receiving orders by phone. This is the second time when Ranch Skillet order has gone wrong. Missing a second order of Chicken Fajita Omelette? Yes. Manager did give me a discount, but that didnt improve from mistakes prior. I almost walked out with nothing. Until then, not sure about going back unless I see a reviews phone orders are on par. I dont care how long it took to get the order. The bottom line is the order came wrong. Please do be clear when making phone orders. You guys might have better luck than I. Good luck.

Totally outstanding service. Best service I have had in years. The food was a mixed bag; eggs,hash browns, and biscuits where outstanding. On the flip side hamburger patty was rare not medium-rare, country gravy was just boring, and coffee was average. Stopped by again. Service was still good, food was even more boring. Old fashioned diner-style restaurant with heaping portions and hearty meals. Theres usually a long wait on weekends, a little to no wait weekdays. Their house made corned beef hash is good, and their meat stuffed pancake is decadent and delicious! They have a great gravy too, its rich and peppery. The best gravy Ive found in the East Bay. Service is friendly but can be slow(weekends), so if you have some patience youll enjoy yourself. Booths in front, large tables in back, counter spots. Coffee is decent.

I love Sukies. This is the perfect place to get some yummy breakfast and great service. I love their atmosphere and I just love how they value their customers by capturing memories with them. I just attached a picture of the owner (whom weve known for years) with my mom recently. She always makes it a point to check up on us and say hello.

Misty was a great server. My French toast was good. The home cooked potatoes were just the right softness with a nice hint of seasoning. Bacon cooked to perfection. Husband didnt like the Applewood sausage but everything else was good. About $40 for 2 people with 2 drinks. Apple juice was good. Hot chocolate almost perfect a little too chocolatly but some may like that.

April 2023 update: Everything I wrote below six years remains true to this day, except the part about the food being reasonably priced. Sukies prices have gone up so much, so fast over the past two years, that its simply not worth it anymore. $17 for a club sandwich is ridiculous! I cant afford to eat there anymore.***************************The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Servers are hardworking, attentative, quirky, and friendly. The decor is hideously fantastic. Youll never mistake this neighborhood Institution for a Dennys, thats for sure. Ive been a regular ever since I moved here 9 years ago. Highly recommended.

Weve been here several times for breakfast. Excellent omelettes and Eggs Benedict, the usual hash browns or home fries; good coffee. One bad experience with the corned beef hash, which was recommended but came seriously over-cooked and dry. We almost didnt go back but glad we did. We also got oatmeal to-go for a friends 100 year old father; he raved it was better than home-made!

The food is amazing! That’s why they are so popular! The only reason I take one star off is because they haven’t yet organized their services, we walked in with tons of people waiting to sit, we go in to put our name down to dine in, we are told 30 to 40 min, on the “name list” there was a lot of people, we decide to wait, a woman comes in upset that she has been waiting 30 min and the lady told her it will maybe be another 20 min, they leave, they ALL leave. Finally the lady comes calling out names and thankfully they did all leave and we waited 15 min from the 30 we were quoted at first, the food was so GOOD! I got the chicken and waffles it was literally delicious but I’d stay away from the ice tea.

This place can be really busy but it is totally worth it! The biscuits and gravy are bomb. The Mendocino chicken sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries is a solid option as well. Everyone who works there is super nice, but Shannon is the best! This place definitely has an authentic old school diner feel to it. Love it!

Hhhhmmmm I ordered my food through doordash steak medium rare but, was extra well done. A over easy egg but, the egg was over hard and the Country Potatoes was extra salty. The best tasty item on my plate was just the buttered wheat toast...I might try this place again maybe in 6 months... Just very disappointed... I had to throw out my food and deal with a cup of instant Ramen that actually tastes better than my breakfast yesterday...

This is one of my favorite places to go to for breakfast. They have the BEST French toast Ive EVER tried! Their omelets are tasty and they have many to choose from. Staff is attentive and they work as a team which I love! Your coffee cup will never be empty!

Me and my family moved to San Pablo last year and we found Sukies after searching for a new breakfast spot. I will say this the food is amazing and it will fill you up!! Service is great too everyone is nice and will fix your order in a heart beat if something is wrong. Here is where I gotta warn people, if you are impatient or dont like waiting for your food dont come here. On our last visit we waited for 30 minutes for our food but we are regulars and know the wait is long but worth it. think of it like someone is making your food with love, thats how I see it. Also if you go around 1030 or 11 wait is long to be seated.

Well we called in our order at 10:05 a.m. and we were told 15-20 minutes. We didnt get our food until 10:45 a.m. okay anyway. While we were waiting for or oder we observed one of the servees/toast preparer pulled her mask down and then start eating over prepared plates of food, somehow that is not right!! It was my first time and I will not return!! The service, food below average but I wont tolerate servers eating over plates of food. They were requiring proof of vaccination cards to dine in, but not holding there workers to the same standard is not the way it should work!! IF YOU ARE THAT HUNGRY TAKE A BREAK!!

The restaurant has a vintage feel, it looks that the place has not been upgraded since when it was built. Pancakes are fluffy and simple. The coffee is not too shabby and you get free refills. The only complaint is that the service is so slooooow. Give yourself 45++ minutes from when you are seated to when you get your food.

Ordered the cowboy skillet. Asked for my eggs over well, the waitress said for that plate the eggs had to be runny. The taste was decently good. Not until I got home couple hours later I started feeling stomach pains. I went to the er and I was diagnosed with Salmonella(food poisoning). BE AWARE before having raw food from this place!!!!!!

Otherwise the flavor wasnt too great and I think the hot sauce they used was old because it tasted sour as hell not even spicy which made my breakfast even worst. It was food but it wasnt good for the 13 dollar price tag, stuck in the 90s. Should have gotten quality food somewhere else for the same price. Upgrade in food needed, waffles tasted like they should have been served in a daycare and so did the omelet. Meat makes things taste better in some peoples opinion but it doesnt have to be in everthing, ingredients taste low quality.

This is one of those places where if your expectations are properly adjusted, this place really hits a homerun. Its a hole-in-the-wall, neighborhood joint. Its dressed down, simple but delicious country cooking. They arent trying to be a fine dining establishment, so as long as you arent expecting that, youll probably fit right in.

Country fried steak was good but a bit more battered compared to Cafe Soleil on San Pablo Dam Road. Note though that this steak is thicker. Comes with white gravy. Oh there are two country fried steaks on the menu, one comes with biscuits and the other with hash browns. So make sure to order the right one.

The hashbrowns were the only dish that looked like they were made from scratch, they were the best part of the meal for three that I shelled out $50 bucks for! could have got the same stuff from the store for $15.... highly dissapointing.

One of my favorite breakfast/lunch restaurants-- my preferred hamburger is actually an oversized turkey patty sausage fixed up as a hamburger with all the salad fixins. Lots more flavor than a standard hamburger. (And it comes with a separate side salad. I like the potato salad best.)
