The food there is good. I had garlic salmon roll and a crispy spicy tuna appetizer. The fried chicken appetizer was good. It has ginger flavor and crispy. The service was great, except they gave our fried scallop roll to another table. But we were too full to eat anyways. Didnt need those extra calories. Worked out!

Its one of the best restaurants of all time! Great service. I have been going there for 20 years! Amazing food portions and quality ! Also, some of the best sushi ive ever had, and its real sushi!!! Must try if you have never been yet! Also good prices and they are wonderful about Allergies and making sure they do it right!

We had the worst service. I will not return.. I had to wait there and wait there and wait so finally I asked is someone going to come over to help us? Passed by my table multiple times and didnt even say hello and ask what can I get you to drink.. then the owner showed up but about 30 mins into all this maybe later and the two servers perked up. I have no idea their names but its the same two women servers I have seen. I stopped coming because of the service but I thought let me give it a try- nope. We will never be back. I love the salad and my husband likes the Ramen but the service is just too spotty. We also heard the table next to us get something to eat that was inedible. Also they forgot my roll and all the other food came out meanwhile waiting for a easy shrimp tempura roll which was not very good. Sumo please read your reviews and do better. You will soon loose customers and in this day and age competition is very real. Plenty of good places which I will return but sadly not to yours.

I GOT POISONED!!!I wouldn’t recommend this place unfortunately. I ordered “dinner special” meal + one roll from main menu and I got poisoned. I’m 100% sure that it was the reason because I didn’t eat anything else this day. After 2 hours approximately I got sick with 4 days consequences. That’s so sad that you can get something like that unexpectedly and ruin your holiday plans. I don’t recommend this place and probably I will never visit again…

This place has one of the best lunch and happy hour deals. Happy hour saporro mug on tap for 2.50?? Cant beat that anywhere! Their happy hour is from 4-6pm everyday. This time I came during lunch and I had one of the Lunch specials. I ordered mine with double spicy tuna rolls which included a salad and even more rice for only 11.99. Trust me. Its is a lot of food for the price, but even better, it taste great! Check out my pics. This place is great. This place has good food and one of the best happy hour and lunch specials that I have seen in the area. Sumo gets an A rating in my book!

I frequent Sumo very often! They have the best salmon sushi in town, so buttery and delicious!! My other favorite is their crispy rice, spicy tuna! I can’t find any other sushi place that does it better than theirs.

Sumo in Camarillo is my favorite place to eat sushi. They are always polite, respectful, and hard working! I always have a pleasant experience with sumo sushi in Camarillo. I just recently tried their crab salad and it is amazing! I also LOVE their Alaskan roll. Almost every roll I’ve tried is absolutely wonderful. Give them a try for some great sushi. My Fiance brought me here for a date night dinner and we absolutely loved this place. He has been here previously with some friends and decided to bring me here since he loved it so much. The atmosphere is chill, the food is delicious and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. I definetly recommended this place for a great sushi dinner!

First time at Kabuki in Oxnard. Food was delicious and service was quick from time I entered the restaurant to time ordering and getting the food. I ate Sushi and Tempura Udon noodle soup. My friend comes monthly to eat Ramen. I highly recommend this restaurant to friends hanging out and family. Sushi chefs are friendly so even coming alone would be fun.

Had the worst experience here last Wednesday. We were regulars here, but after last week, we will not be returning. Our server was extremely unprofessional and not attentive. Placed our order, 2 peoples food did not arrive until an hour after everyone else despite asking 6 separate times for the food. Server also spilled beer on my sushi, and brought napkins to soak up my beer drenched fish. We were so fed up with the experience we said we wanted the remaining items for the two people who had not received their food to be packed to go- took 15 more minutes. When it came time for the bill, there was no consideration for the time or inconvenience. I gave the server back the bill and stated we should not be paying for the two items which took so long. She took it to her manager who stated, well if you dont want it, I wont charge you. Then after I asked for it to be removed again while keeping the food, she stated can I give you a discount because I cannot waive the $17.00 or I will get in trouble. Astonishing. Will never return. Used to frequent at least once a week and took employees from our business there weekly, will never return.

The service was good but the food was meh. I wanted ramen but the broth was watery and not much flavor, also the egg was very over cooked, not marinated, just a plain hard boiled egg. I only got two tiny slices of pork in the Tonkatsu. I also don’t think they know the difference between ramen and ramyun. I liked my drink and my appetizer though.

Honestly, the 2 star review is ONLY because 1 out of the 4 rolls we ordered was actually decent. Absolute HORRIBLE service. Under cooked edamame. Oh and just FYI since the menu doesn’t reflect it, there is mushrooms ALL in and on top of the super spicy dynamite roll. Then once we asked for it be removed from our ticket because my girlfriend is HIGHLY allergic, the staff was extremely disrespectful about it. It’s safe to say that this was the worst sushi experience I’ve ever had.

Our experience at this restaurant last night was very unpleasant and stressful last night due to the waitress we had This waitress, named Lauren had absolutely no people skills! She arrived at our table and curtly asked : What do you want to drink? No smile, no how are you ladies tonight, no nice introduction at all My mother asked her if they had raspberry iced tea and she replied they only had regular tea The major problem was the fact that she gave that answer with the same monotone, unfriendly tone and stoic face She absolutely set a very uncomfortable tone The martini I ordered tasted like old grape juice, not good at all The food was good, rather was ok On our way out after we waited a long time for our bill and finally had to ask another waitress for it, I informed the manager about our very unfriendly waitress and she replied with a bunch of Feedback how much all of her customers love the place’!! What’s that got to do with our horrible experience !!! We will never eat here again

Had to ask for Happy Hour menus. And please - clean the menus! The wrong food was brought & we had to wait & find someone. The beer came not cold. When we mentioned it she felt it & said it felt kind of cool & brought ice! The edamame had no salt & came late. Onions were sliced & put on top & not sautéed. The owners customers service is poor. Yellow tail had fish bones. I left speechless. Once again owners do not have any customer service manners. But on the bright side server Lauren was very attentive to all tables. Praise to Lauren. The couple who are owners run the restaurant, male owner runs the sushi and female owner runs the restaurant. Owner actually made the yellow tail belly sushi that had two bones. Owner running the restaurant just shut down. Today experience was the worst I had ever experienced by owners. Hopefully if there is a next time I hope the experience would be normal. I dont believe I have high expectations. This by far has been my longest most intense review. Customer service and attentiveness should not be overlooked. Owners overlooked customer service with no hesitation. I surely dont wish this to anyone. Food was tasty aside from everything else. I do wish to return again and give it a second try.

Nice place, OK sushi, but they have no way of handling takeout orders well. No restaurant online menu and they occasionally keep you on hold a long time then hang up on you. I make an effort to always support good restaurants but I cant continue to recommend sumo sushi. Wonderful owner, nice workers, but unable to provide consistent quality service and food. I hope they can return to 2019 quality.

I’ve been there once and ate a great lunch! Today I ordered take out based on my previous experience I expected the food to be just perfect. My baked sushi looked like somebody ate it already, crispy tuna was no crispy but only soaked with old fried oil. I’m very disappointed. Looks like they have too many customers nowadays and don’t take care about food quality anymore. What is supposed to be my Saturday dinner places in garbage can.

I live in Utah and when I come out to visit, Sumo Sushi is always one of the very few places I go to eat at upon arriving! Their sushi is not only good, but they are also huge. The rolls are gigantic. To the point they are hard to eat. They are good and ok priced. However on a slow night we waited over 45minutes for our food. Almost every table already had their food when we walked in and it stil took that long. Many items come with mushrooms that say nothing of that in description. Very disappointed. Sushi portions were pretty big and reasonably priced. The problem we ran into was the service. It was slow and disorganized. It seemed like the waitresses didn’t know which tables to serve. Stella the owner is an amazing person we have been coming here for well over 10 years and since Stella and her husband took over its only gotten better. I love this place. Any bad reviews come from bad people. If you come at 7:30 on a Friday night and expect to be served like a Tuesday afternoon, go somewhere else.
