2023-11-06 01:57:08Possibly the best Dosa place in California! The place, which I understand was a food truck in San Ramon is now a cafe in Milpitas. It is operated by the owner couple one of whom manages the kitchen and the other the counter. It is open only on Saturdays and Sundays currently and one has to pre-order online.A few table and chairs are available outside the cafe for those who want to have the delicious dosas on the site. Each dosa and its accompaniments are served in a box lined with foil which helps to retain its warmth and crispness even after one hour. One masala dosa is good enough to meet meet ones hunger pangs and you may consider a second one if you have a good appetite. The dosas are thick, thick, rich brown in colour and superbly yummy in taste. The potato stuffing in the masala dosa is delicious and so was the chutney. The other accompaniment, sambhar was just about Ok. I must tell you that I never expected the dosas to be so crispy and tasty so much so that I was reminded of some of the best dosas that I have had in Bengaluru or elsewhere in India. Some freshly baked spicy buns are also available at the place, which dont require pre-ordering so dont forget to buy them if available.I understand that the owners are planning to scale up the menu and the number of days in the week when it will remain open. So, if you are in the Bay Area and have a craving for the best Bengaluru dosas, look up the place online and place your order. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!Ample parking and a clean toilet adds to the convenience.

2023-10-21 20:37:33Very tasty and buttery dosa! They offer selective menu and you have to book it days in advance and you have to pick up only in the timeslot and still I would do all this to taste the food here. Dosa is crispy yet soft and different from regular paper dosa. Chutney and sambar were delicious too. There’s outdoor seating available. Highly recommend.

2023-10-22 17:51:56The closest to bangalore Dosas I’ve ever had in the US.Very hygienic and clean. Would surely recommend to anyone who wants the best dosas in town. And am surely coming back for another one.

2023-09-30 20:08:18Worth trying if you’re looking for anything which is close enough to bangalore style CTR/Vidhyarthi Bavan dosa in bayarea.. orders to be placed on weekdays and pickup on weekends in the said time slot. Wish it was a live counter. Orders will be packed and ready to go and won’t be too hot or too cold. Bit overly priced but totally worth it. Dosa is quite big, crispy, smells amazing! Good amount of chutney, sambar and aloo masala(palya) to go with. Khara bun also tastes amazing.

2023-04-09 14:46:07Their dosas are great. Their business model not so much. You have to pre- order on their website on a Thursday evening so you can eat dosa on Saturday & they get to decide what time you eat 😀 The link to pre- order goes live at 7 pm and by 7.05 all orders are filled. So you need to be REALLY REALLY fast when you place the order. They will later send you an email specifying the time of pickup. If you dont live in the east bay, you’ll have to drive 30-50 minutes to eat. And oh, its a food truck in a farmers market, so they don’t have a place to sit & eat. I really wish they come up with a better system because their dosas are great. Its hard to find Bengaluru style dosas in the US. It’s very crispy & well roasted & tastes heavenly. Their chutney is great too. I love that they include wet tissues in your order to wipe off the fat from your fingers.

2022-12-08 14:26:00We had heard a lot about this food truck . Needs reservations.I actually went in with no expectations despite all the hype and I must say I am happy with the experience . The Dosa tastes fantastic here. The food truck is located in the farmers market, you select a time and try to be there on time or ASAP(else your dosa gets cold )The packing is good, dosa does not get soggy.I did not like the chutney that came along the dosa !!We tried Masala Dosa, one of our friends tried Cheese dosa but we recommend Masala Dosa. The dosas are very filling, we felt very very full at 2 dosas .There is no one specific place to eat, but you can find plenty around the complex.Note : For those who love their coffee with dosa there is a Starbucks (same complex 2min walk ).Would definitely visit again

2022-06-19 05:03:15I’ve been in the U.S. for more than 8 years and I’ve never had good dosa. One of my friends told me about this food truck n it didn’t disappoint. The dosa here reminded of the crispy dosas in Bangalore. It was worth the 50 mile drive to San Ramon.

2023-09-14 22:36:11After a long wait and craving for Surya darshini dosas, ordered 7 dosas for the entire family and we were excited to try it out. Pickup was quick and very efficient based on the time slot. People at the front desk were very courteous and friendly. Given there was no dine-in, we had to find out a nearby park to eat so it doesnt lose freshness. Now onto the actual Dosa review.Dosa was crispy and very tasty, really liked the texture and allo pallya. Gave me the goose bumps of CTR dosa. It was so yummy. On the the improvements side, chutney didnt taste fresh though and sambhar was little sweet and was not very authentic. It was more like a onion and tomato gravy. We also missed coffee/tea with dosa since the place doesnt have it. Given dosa tastes the best when consumed immediately, felt the togo service might not be the best experience and also felt it was little overpriced just for a togo pickup. Also without the option of exact pickup time, preorder days ahead without cancellation option doesnt give the best experience IMO. Sometime we might end up getting a 1PM lunch slot which doesnt work out well.I request management to open an in-house dining or atleast allow self service dine-in. If both are not possible atleast let people to pickup slots instead of randomly assigning slots at odd times.

2023-11-01 00:18:43Best masala dosa in town! Crispy and buttery. The potatoe filling was a bit gooey which tasted good. I had the dosa with chutney and absolutely loved it. Must visit when you are in Bay Area. They serve dosa on Saturday and Sunday only. Make sure you book your slot on their website to reserve your dosa.
