Even though it was a small place, they were able to seat us right away on a Thursday evening. But who cares about that? The sushi and the service were phenomenal. Granted, the flavors were a lot more intense than traditional sushi, but so well done. I’d go back tonight if I could.

Good sushi at a beach side village. The menu is a little pricey but items are fresh. We enjoyed the house salad, oysters on a half shelf paired with sea urchin and fish Roe, mixed tempura, along with some rolls. It tasted very good. There is inside and outside seating available. Service personnel are nice. Food is prepared at a quick pace compared to other spots.

Came for my sisters birthday. We called ahead of time and the young man said he would put us on the waiting list. He was so nice and that was a great start to a great dinner. We ordered California, Philadelphia, tuna, eel, and baked salmon rolls. Not going to lie, we ate 4 rolls in 5 minutes. We ordered 4 more and with that we ended the night. Dinner was amazing, servers were friendly and environment was clean and relaxing. I definitely recommend this place. Prices are also reasonable.

My husband and I came to this new sushi joint on 2nd street. We have been anticipating its opening for a while and finally found the chance to come in for dinner. Started with the roll on this trip, and it did not disappoint. The presentation and taste were all great. So great to have another good sushi joint on the strip. Easily could be our next go to one.Only one note from a tea lover. Japanese tea needs to be serve in a handless cup with little expose surface to keep it warm. My tea was lukewarm and just simply got cold when I am drinking it. There is nothing pleasant about cold tea with sushi. I would recommend a change.

Had a great experience here. The sushi was SO fresh, moderately priced and the staff was so nice. Our food was served immediately. The gyoza were cooked perfectly. Then the Washington roll and aloha roll were so yummy. Would definitely return. Oh also loved the diversity of the staff :)

@Sushi was so good! I went there to try it because I have heard many good things about it! Let me tell you, it definitely lived up to the rumors! It was amazing and the sushi was so fresh. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because they only have one waiter working at a time, and it took a while for our food to come and for our order to be taken. The sushi was so fresh and tasteful. I ordered the Seared albacore and it came ON FIRE! It was amazing! Go check it out in the photo/video below. Great new addition to 2nd street and I will definitely go back soon. Go try it today!

Mmm...I hate to be harsh but...this place is surrounded by better options. By quality and portion, Sushi Ai is the better choice. Sushi on Fire was servicing me immediately with complimentary miso soup and can rival Ai with quality. I REALLY dont want to slam this place, I dont like doing it. But I have the feeling the moment I try Sushi Nikkei, this place falls to fifth in the pecking order among all the places on 2nd Street. I didnt hate it, but Im not impressed.

Owner is very nice. Food is really nice. If you want to impress your girlfriend/wife come here. High quality and fresh. Also, REAL WASABI. Additionally, after eating you can go to the beach and relax. Ask Song the Owner to recommend the menu.

I’ve been coming for years and realized I owe this establishment a long overdue review. Last night I ordered chirashi, sashimi 9 pc, shrimp tempura, sake and garlic edamame to go. @sushi offers the freshest, most generous- sized cuts of fish. The bluefin is so good, I consider it dessert. There is a creative menu of cut roll options- we usually order 4-5 of these and share as a table for the family. The service is always amazing, matches the food. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel appreciated and welcome. It feels like you are in his home, Japanese hospitality. Best sushi in LBC. There’s always a wait, it moves quickly but is totally worth it. Outdoor (with optional heating at each table) and indoor seating.

Even these hard times because of COVID this place made REALLY GREAT and fresh sushi rolls for us. They didn’t try to go cheap and to put less ingredients. They provided good amount of wasabi and ginger. They were awesome! Packaging was well organized! We took California, Philadelphia, Eel and Baked Salmon rolls. I hate to be that person but i couldnt resist taking a picture of our food because it was definitely Instagram worthy! On top of being taste approved, the owners genuine pride in his restaurant is unmatched! He doesnt just serve food, but creates an artsy experience for his customers by explaining the region of the imported fish being served . Lastly but certainly not least, i must rave about the server Monse!Monse was the most AMAZING server EVER! She was extremely attentive in making sure we had everything we needed before we even requested it. She was friendly, professional, efficient, and just an overall pleasure to speak with. Although she was masked we could literally feel her smiling, and that type of service is rare. I dont have any recommendations because everything was delicious 😋 but if I was forced to choose I would say the Mexican was my favorite, thanks Monse for that recommendation! Wow! @Sushi is where it’s @! We dined here for my Bday. The first highlight is its location. Located on the main strip of Belmont Shores which is a very cool spot to hang! Secondly, the presentation was beautiful and the fish was fresh! Lastly, our servers, Toni and Song were top notch! One of my favorite sushi experiences in a while. Highly recommend!

Yes, I know, another 5 star review. Well, they are worthy. Fresh fish, very well done. All three finger pieces come with uzu sauce or pepper or something to make the piece special. Generous slices of fish and perfect quantity of rice. Expand the selection and they would be with of 5 plus!Cold sake shooter with an oyster and a quail egg, interesting, not for the faint of heart. Oyster and quail egg were perfect, not sure the sake added much. Safe covid practice as well.

This used to be one of my favorites places. However, when my fiance and I went for dinner?; we were told that dogs werent allowed in the restaurant although our dog had joined us several times before. We were then told we could eat on the patio with our dog. However, a couple who wasnt on the waiting list skipped the line & was sitting outside. We let the staff know. Nothing was done. Very disappointed.

I wish to amend my review because 5 Stars does not do @Sushi justice. The food is is so fresh and delicious that it overshadows any you have had before. The sushi chefs hand craft and arrange each dish so you can hardly wait to start eating and when you do, it just melts in your mouth.The service is is outstanding and everyone is so friendly. The drinks are nice and cold. My wife, friends, and I could eat there every night. Give them a try. You won’t be sorry.

Nice remodel, now with sushi bar! We are not sushi fans, but enjoyed their nice menu with lots of options! We had the tempura, shrimp and veggies! The batter was light and cooked perfectly, crunchy and hot! Service was great! We asked if they had brown rice as an alternative and were told they probably would have it in the future! Hope so! The price was a great value at $12 which included soup or salad and rice with the entree! We definitely will be going there again and would highly recommend!

Visited from Utah to meet up with some friends and was just craving some good sushi. Not only was this place amazing but we have an excuse to visit our “friends” more often now. Elijah the waiter was top notch! He was so great at recommending rolls and nigiri we ended up loving every one of them. He really goes above and beyond for his customers. Not the best sushi on 2nd street. I found the dynamite & dragon rolls flavorless and hollow; the dynamite roll was also falling apart and hastily topped with imitation meat. The atmosphere here feels forced, like theyre trying to trick you into thinking youre at a top-tier spot. Ill give some bonus stars for the oysters, fried shishito peppers, and great service/speed - but will probably always pick different sushi options nearby in the future.

Bluefin toro sashimi just melted in our mouths like butter. Good market price of $42. Totally worth it. Bluefin sashimi was great also. All fresh. Decent sushi that would probably make good sashimi. However, there were a few issues that would prevent me from eating there again: 1. too much water in the salad and appetizer (it was collecting at the bottom of the bowls); 2. Eel nigiri was cold (a big deal to eel lovers); 3. randomly, there was lots of wasabi underneath some nigiri and not others. It was intense, I had to hold my breathe and almost choked at one point. This restaurant has a lot of refining left to do!

This is my new go to sushi restaurant! I’ve tried the yellowtail carpaccio, 5372 roll, Uni sushi, Eel sushi Spanish mackerel sushi, and BBQ short ribs appetizer. Our server Kat always gives us the best recommendations! She is amazing! Can’t wait to go back again and try more dishes.

The place was quaint and had interesting fish skeleton art that was colleagued with mirror pieces. Had a modern beach theme. We had the shumai and chicken gyoza for appetizers. Our entrées were Rainbow roll and California roll. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The presentation of the Rainbow Roll was a tad sloppy but didnt take away from the experience. Our server was attentive and always smiled. They have happy hour and lunch specials. I would definitely come here again!

I went last week to this wonderful place. I have visited many sushi restaurants and this one is one of my favorites. Food is excellent and they have good prices. The food is delicious, I love this place. The service is outside and they serve you super well. I recommend it 100%. Fresh food and beer more ☺
