Sushi Garden is our favorite sushi spot. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is excellent. We love the spicy edamame, lobster roll, and sesame chicken.

Excellent service and the food was good not great. The Lion King roll was my favorite. Their Rainbow roll had a weird sauce on it not usually found in other sushi restaurants. Tasted alright just interesting looking. I had 2 rolls and an order of salmon nigiri. All of which cost me $50 with tip. A bit pricey, but would return due to the fast and great service.

Incredible prices, flavors, and polish all around. Came expecting good, instead it was GREAT. Pictured are High-value Lunch Chicken Teriyaki entree and the amazingly savory Tiger Roll. It is obvious that this place is the town’s favorite by the way it went from dead to packed in a lunch hour. Will come back.

We love Sushi Garden! Definately our go-to place when we dine out, worth the drive from Oakdale. Every single time we go, the staff remember us and are amazing . Sierra our server was top notch, and the sushi chefs are great to watch them craft and interact with. Each time we leave and exclaim it was the best time ever..... til the next time.

This place offers Americanized rolls and appetizers. We tried the Sashimi Chefs Choice Assorted (pretty fresh), fried calamari are strips, very chewy) for appetizer and Tiger Roll and Temperu Scallop Roll (both tasted fried seafood with a ton of sauce).

I grew up in the downtown Tokyo, so I am very picky about Miso soup, Sushi rice, and everything about the Japanese foods, because I know what the tests should be!When I have Sashimi Lunch in Sushi Garden,I feel like I am in Tokyo. The fish is always fresh and Miso soup is always so delicious💕 If you want to eat the best Japanese meals, you need to try Sushi Garden 💕

We’ve eaten there before & love the food! There lies the problem… we called on Wednesday to make sure they could accommodate 10 of us this time! I’m only giving a 1 star because 0 isn’t an option. She kept saying they’re busy & don’t do reservations. I’m like I know 2 other places who’s willing to & have been to them. But there’s some stuff here that some family hasn’t gotten to eat that we brag on. For us to eat & drink would probably be about $300 & we tip well because we have been in the bartending & food service before! Not happy at all for their inability to have a large family eat here!!

The food and presentation was good. My friend and I both ordered the lunch special, and it was a good deal for $10-12, but then we got a sushi roll that was $17, and it was rather slim. I was kinda disappointed with the roll itself. My friend got salmon while I got chicken. I got a nice healthy helping of chicken while my friend got a small piece of salmon.They seem to skimp on the expensive ingredients. That being said, the food did taste good, it was serve quickly and it was hot, and the wait staff was good. My drink never ran empty. So all in all, not a bad experience, but could be better.

I ordered 3 sushi rolls for take out. I really like the Lion King roll. It had a good flavor and looked appetizing. I liked that it looked charred on top. The tempura roll was not good due to the sauce on top. It didnt look right. The sauce had a weird, congealed texture. It looked like jelly? It was off putting but it tasted fine. The Oshi roll was also not good in my opinion. The seafood didnt have a fresh taste. It tasted off, and it could be due to the sauce. I couldnt eat more than one piece. I was disappointed since I paid $50 for 3 rolls. It was quite pricey.

Went to lunch with my daughter today and so so disappointed. The appetizers were delicious and the two rolls we ordered were horrible. The Modesto roll made my daughter gag on her second piece. Nothing tasted right even the rice. Nothing fresh tasting or even cool. Will not go back

Definitely worth visiting. Not the best sushi restaurant in the world, but probably best around the town. Price is reasonable, quality on selected fish is good, thirty some year experience of making tamago was the best. The waitress is kind and knowledgeable, sushi chefs behind the counter are friendly as well.I will be making another visit when I am in Modesto.

I went with my family to Sushi Garden on Coffee Road in Modesto, CA and it was quite the experience. I asked for recommendations from the OWNER, and she quickly shun me and didnt want to talk to me or my family. That was rude as I took notice on how nicely she treated other patrons. We just wanted a nice family meal and be treated with respect and gratitude. We did not receive any! After ordering our meal and waiting at least 30 minutes for it to arrive, they realized that they gave us the wrong orders. They rudely took the plates and replaced it with the correct ones and waiting again for 30 minutes. Overall, I had very bad experience! Rude owner, overrated menu items and overpriced sushi is how I would describe this place.

When I first walked in I thought I dont want to eat here. No ambiance of any kind. Then I looked at the menu and thought I dont want to eat here. These rolls are weird combinations ans so pricey!Then I looked around. The place was packed. And then I saw a few dishes. Visually stunning.And then I ate.The lobster roll is to die for. No soy or wasabi needed. Its huge, delicious and worth every penny of $20.The service was really nice. I sat at the sushi bar and was served as well as if I were at a private table. The Chef was also very attentive.I will definitely be back!

Went there with my 13th year old daughter for lunch. The food was just okay. Sever was lacking which I understand because it was lunch hour busy. As we left I leave 20% tips. When we walk across the sushi bar they were screaming for attention to leave them tips which I thought was super rude since I had left a good amount on the table. Anyways never going back.

Wow, SO disappointed. To begin, it was almost 45 min before we got ONE of our appetizers, and an entire hour before we got our food. The seared tuna wasnt seared (just room temp all the way through) but it was soaked. In sauce. The presentation and flavor were the beginning of an experience my husband and I both knew wasnt going to end well. One of the rolls house sauces was yellow curry. SMOTHERING the roll. Not a flavor anyone wants to be surprised with, let alone overwhelming the food to the point the strength of the smell could contaminate your clothes. All the sushi pieces were kinda warm. Not reassuring when eating raw fish. The cuts were skinny and dry. Even the usual buttery salmon was just....not good. Yelp let me down. We will not be going back.

This restaurant is in the monthly rotation of my family, we like it that much. I appreciate that they offer gluten-free soy sauce upon request and the agadashi tofu recipe is gluten free as well. Two people in our party always orders sashimi or chirashi plates and we are extremely satisfied with the quality of the fish that is melt in your mouth. The sushi rice is spot on with the vinegar and sugar ratio (I like it equal parts).
