Sushi Mori La Jolla in La Jolla

This was my first visit to La Jolla and our group went to Sushi Mori on our first night. I was surprised to see Uni on the menu in this little sushi restaurant so I had to order it. Our very helpful waitress suggested that I get the king scallop and uni sushi. I did and oh my goodness did it exceed my expectations. I am a big foodie and uni has been on my bucket list for years. Living in Texas, it has been impossible for me to get because it is so cost prohibitive to ship here. So I was delighted to be on the west coast where uni is harvested.The sushi plate has the sweetness of the scallop and the creamy umami flavor of the uni. I was in foodie heaven. It was so good, I went back for lunch the next two days!

Nice calm place with a few good vegan options. We had the agadashi tofu and the vegetable tempura wrap, both of which were exceptionally tasty and well cooked. Would love to see more vegan options here.

There is nothing better than fresh sushi rolls and steaming hot ramen to start the weekend! Luckily at Sushi Mori you can have both and so much more. Their fish is cut fresh daily and the rolls are almost too beautiful to eat. Sushi Mori has been family owned for over 15 years and is truly a gem. Plus it’s only a short walk to the iconic La Jolla Shores.

Loved the sushi here, clean typical beers. Whoever was working 12-22-22 as the host was extremely kind and courteous. Cant wait to come back!

One of the best sushi dinners I’ve ever had. Top quality fish. Top quality service. The chefs are excellent as well. Every piece was mouth-watering delicious.

When we went there, it seemed great and all but first they forgot the Pepsi for 10 minutes, then there was no silverware when the food came. But wait, theres more! The food we ordered was supposed to come with miso soup but it didnt come as well as the miso soup we ordered but they still charged us for it. We also ordered a roll but they forgot about it entirely. Overall this was the one of the worst sushi restaurant ever.

It’s only around the corner from the beach area! Not too crowded around 1pm on a weekday compared to the amount of people at the beach! Heard it gets busy during dinner time! Server was super nice and friendly! The spicy edamame was a great surprise! Fried rice was ok, but server recommended dropping the spicy edamame sauce over the rice which made it better! Sushi was good! I’m not much of a sushi person so couldn’t really tell you how it compares! But overall a nice time outdoors and worth the stop!

The Ramen and spicy Edamame were absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly! I highly recommend this restaurant

We tried four rolls - all incredible! Not only beautiful, but also delicious! They provided a generous amount of fish and their sauces were wonderful. Highly recommended!

What a fabulous place, from the moment we walked in the staff was over the top accommodating. My wife and daughters thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The establishment is well maintained, the sashimi, sushi, and rolls were delightful. Jenny (owner) went the extra mile to make sure our kids enjoyed the dining experience. When you are in the area make sure to stop in for a bite and a draft Asahi. Thank you to all the staff.
